  2. On the contrary, I believe majority of MMORPG players are dying for something new, different, and polished...
  3. of EA/Bioware completely shifting gears from all perspectives and start marketing the game as a single player game with multi-player aspects? I have been thinking and it seems obvious to me with the recent changes in management, people leaving, free2play, emphasis on single player content and lack of overall commitment to the game that everyone is waiting for GW2 release and what kind of impact it will have on the game. I am afraid that, if GW2 succeeds in grabbing the majority of the players left in this in game, we might completely be suprised by this change in direction.
  4. I am downloading it as we speak and can not wait for the 25th.
  5. I realized this yesterday while playing my Pyro. It is retarded to see that I am getting hit pretty much at the max Flameburst distance...
  6. Bro, you are not getting this so let me lay it out to you again. I have already stated that I have WH gear. All my toons are 18k+ HP... I HAVE THE FRIKIN GEAR. What I am telling you is that, it is not my problem, it is our problem collectively. The less people play this game due to gear disparity and grind there is, the least we all benefit. It is obvious now, or should be, based on the trend of MMOs, they are going more casual by day. You are not going to survive, or if you do only to be mediocre with 250k players by having this type of grind. Even WoW doesn't have this for their latest arena gear and getting it is much faster. AND NOW, you have a game like GW2 coming which pretty much will destroy every bit of PvP that is left in SWTOR by realizing, finally, that PvP is about SKILL, FUN, and CREATIVITY rather then the hamster wheel that is gear grinding. So, there was a time for Gear Grind, but that time has long past. The genre is moving out of it. Are we the players? Or are we keep thinking and talking about EQ constantly and living in the past?
  7. Are you kidding me? Having the superior gear over majority and taking every bit out of this advantage in every WZ you are playing is not enough? Some people I swear...
  8. This would be true if all the skilled players had the SAME EQUAL TIME to grind out. All things equal, as in Player A have the same skill as player B, player B simply would get gear much faster because he PLAYS MORE. At the end TIME>SKILL. Eat your 9000 crit in the face.
  9. There is no such thing as PvP Gear Progression. Progression indicates that somehow you are advancing through a sequence. Progression applies to PvE where you are facing increasingly difficult challenges which requires more powerful gear to beat. You are delusional by thinking somehow you sitting infront of a computer longer than others give you the right to have the best gear in the game. What have you done to achieve that gear? Did you beat the most powerful mobs in the game? Nope. Did you perform an amazing feat no others can? Nope. You simply pressed more buttons and mouse clicks then the rest. FFS you didn't even have to win a certain percentages of WZs to achieve the best gear. YOU KEPT PLAYING AGAINST SAME PEOPLE OVER AND OVER. ALL YOU HAD TO DO IS SIMPLY PLAY MORE. Don't think because you play more, you deserve more.
  10. I am all for that too. If you are willing to spend the time get gear that will only make you LOOK ****** but not MAKE you ******, that is perfectly fine.
  11. I don't want the best PvE gear and I don't deserve it. However, there should never be a gear disparity in PvP period. It doesn't make sense and it has no room in MMORPGs. The only progression in PvP should be in the ranks to see who are the top dogs and not in gear...
  12. He knws that. He is trying to say that because I play on a RP-PVP server, I know nothing about PvP. In reality I don't RP at all, and would be out of my server for another PvP competitive server in no time if I had the chance... Also, for the record, my toons are all over 18k HP and running best WH Enhancements... I stopped doing the grind for the WH Power mods bc it is becoming increasingly annoying...
  13. Nah, I get it perfectly. I have been playing MMOs since UO and never before WoW was there a such thing as PvP gear. Actually Dark Age of Camelot was a prime example of how getting end game PvP gear was so easy and there were thousands of people still playing regardless of the lack of gear on a stick dangling in front of them. I am all for gear progression for PvE, which if we are talking about the early days of MMO, all there ever was. It is logical, it is understandable. In order to beat a harder boss, you need better gear. Well guess what, players are not Bosses and there should never be a gear disparity in Player vs Player combat. It is simlpe as that...
  14. So you are saying that it is better to have 3 guilds running RWs then 25 so-so guilds? You do realize that a COMPANY, who wants to make money from their product, will never ever cater to hardcores right? Please say yes so I know that you are not completely brain dead...
  15. No thanks. I'll just wait until they either a) offer gear in the cash shop or b) lower the cost of gear. Until then, have fun playing against the same people every night.
  16. You still don't get it do you? Without abolishing the gear disparity and making gear, for today's standards, such a grind to acquire, it is easy for people to quit trying. Because, you know, this is only a game and people don't have neither the time nor the motivation to spend 3 months playing casually to acquire gear to compete so that they can start to have fun. If you make the gear disparity disappear, you only leave skill as an excuse to quit trying. Well I guarantee you people are a lot more competitive then they are grind tolerant. So, you abolish gear grind for PvP and give more incentives for people to run RWs, such as establishing a web page where there are statistics for RW teams displayed, MVPs are selected based on performence, Showcase of RW matches that were so close it was nail biting, etc. Gear incentives for PvP DO NOT WORK. Understand that already.
  17. With that attitude, good luck with playing 100 people 6 months from now, IF the game is still running. The time for Hardcore MMORPGs are long gone. Deal with it.
  18. Do you even realize why "most" people stopped running RWs? The only reason was that the gear disparity between hardcore PvPers and casuals were so big that getting farmed all day every day was not fun for most casuals. You and people like amaze me. Obviously, you are in the minority given the state of the Ranked warzones. So, you have two options; a) either change teh complete mindset of casuals who do not like the gear disparity and the t ime it takes to acquire gear, or b) cut the grind out of PvP Gear and let people participate in PvP while in equal terms. Obviously one of these things are much easier to accomplish then the other...
  19. This is a comlpetely worthless response to an argument that smacked yours in the face.
  20. The sole reason why people are against this is because for some psychopathic reason, people need to justify to themselves that they have been neglecting their work, their families, their loved ones, and their chores to get Full WH gear and it needs to feel like such a hard and valued accomplishment. Otherwise, they will realize that this is only a game and it doesn't matter what the person next to you have in terms of pixeled gear or how they acquired it. Sad... really, really sad.
  21. I am sorry that hardcore-grind-loving nature of MMOs are changing and more games now cater to carebears than ever. Soon, every new MMO will start abolishing this disease of needing to grind to get gear for PvP. I am willing to bet a $100 bucks that SWTOR, in the near future, will offer PvP gear in the cash shop. Then you can run RWs all day everytday against the same handful of guilds...
  22. Actually, it is quite easy to beat both Pyrotech PTs and Marauders as Concealment. Marauder are actually one of the easiest classes for me to beat... My operative is in Full BM gear with full augments and WH enchanments running 1028 Power, 30% crit and 76% surge and I own Marauders all day. There are actually two very high end geared Marauders on my server that always attack my operative and my alt PT whenever they see me because I beat them so bad. Also one of these guys has about 20k HP... You just have to know when to cleanse yourself from Mara dots and Pyro Dots...
  23. I think you are in denial of your addiction... just saying.
  24. This is so not true. I enjoy PvP, I don't enjoy being thron into PvP with ****** gear. for the record all of my toons have about half WH and I legacy mail enhancements back and forth. Yet, I still think Gear Progression has no place in PvP whatsoever. It blows my mind that these so called PvP players enjoy gear progression. Gear Progression is for pixel Dragonslayers and not for the true PvP player swho enjoy skill based combat rather then Gear Advantage,
  25. Ahh I am going to enjoy your tearsofQQ when the latest PvP gear is going to be sold in the cash shop for $$. And yes, if you think they are "just" going to offfer some leveling blues in the cash shop, you are delusional. It is called "testing the waters". Introduce a low impact starter gear first, then gradually work your way towards offering more and more gear. Perfect way to slowly get people used to the idea of selling gear for $$.
