People like you are the reason games die. And people like you don't get to procreate
-
I agree. But that's the opposite of what fuzzDONTEVENTRIP was talking about.
-
Actually, Bioware's actions disagree with you. You seem to be playing a wrong game, I guess.

Are voices in your head arguing again?

Has anyone mentioned to you that shadow is an assassin's mirror, less stylishly dressed?

plz nerf mara and give sorcs back their lightning

Wait a sec. You're saying you can kill anything except marauders. Doesn't it sound like you need a nerf then? -
Watchman Rotation Reduced to 1 Macro Ownage
xirinia replied to HeliosApollo's topic in Sentinel / Marauder
Meh, don't mind him. People have the need to feel superior to others, and he does that very well. He just doesn't understand how macros can be used Macros work very well at all levels. Just at higher levels you may need a few more of them, and you will need to know when to use direct abilities instead of macros. I'm sure by then you will know that. Point of them is that it's much easier (and to many people, more pleasant) to use fewer keybinds than 20-30, leaving you to actually enjoy the game. -
Watchman Rotation Reduced to 1 Macro Ownage

I don't think you understand how to use macros. Even with a macro you still CAN use the abilties without it. It does not remove the rest of the keys from your keyboard. It does remove repetitiveness, and reduces the number of keybinds you have to actively use. In addition to the rotational macro that he mentioned, for example, you can also macro 2-3 mutually exclusive abilities to the same button. When you hit this button, you know *exactly* which one of the 2-3 abilities will be used. -
Watchman Rotation Reduced to 1 Macro Ownage

Well, if you want conditions, you can use autohotkey instead of G13. You'll still have more than one button (you're not macroing fleet pass to combat, are you?), but it'll be pretty close. -
sweet, thank you for the information!

I'm sure this has been answered before, but I can't find it About to hit 50, looking at PvP armor merchants, and for the life of me can't figure out what the currency for them is. Is it in the baggies you buy with warzone commendations? If so, are those bags only sold in the warzones themselves?

The Number of Abilities on a Sith Warrior is Too Damn High
xirinia replied to TestRider's topic in Combat Styles
If anything, the game forces you to use good macros. Marauder is a poster child for them -
The problem is that current system allows for those macros to be created external to swtor. At least in Rift they had some sort of control over what's possible and what's not. Leaving it to imagination of players, and capabilities of 3rd party tools is not a good thing
-
No. Their goal is to limit use of macros to people with hardware or otherwise third party tools
-
If you have trouble hitting the right things, try hardware or otherwise macros.
-
You can begin with reading the thread. There are 70 pages, half of it is advantages to putting macros in the game. I can give you my favorite: to level the playing field between people that can use hardware macros and people that can't or don't want to

Actually, non-tank powertechs are squishier than you. And tank ones do a lot less damage I don't think you understand what "managing heat" means. It's not the talents you get that reduce heat usage. It's you, using the heat-free attack in between your other abilities to keep your heat regeneration at maximum. As in, when you have over 25-30 heat, use the free attack. Believe it or not, it will actually increase your overall damage.

Earlier in this thread someone was hallucinating about how BW will be able to catch evil macroing hackers by examining key patterns and seeing whose abilities are executed at exact same correct intervals. What you're saying is that if hell freezes over and they do start checking for this, they will not be able to see difference between a perfectly timed macro and you? Ever?

Can't comment on the commando (only played merc to 20ish), but as far as vanguard/PT, I noticed that going with a DPS spec while levelling you have more survivability: 1. You start at range, and do some damage before closing in, while taking little to no damage 2. Things die a bit quicker. The damage increase seems to outweigh the better mitigation, at least in my case 3. You can kite a single melee mob indefinitely My other guess with survivability of commando is your long duration CC. Mezzing a pack of mobs and picking them off one at a time is probably helping quite a bit.

Wow. macros, open api and combat log has absolutely nothing to do with resource botting. The reason you don't notice them is because it's much easier and safer to do all that stuff on your ship, while botting space missions for money and experience. And yes, that problem does exist.
-
And then they endorsed a macro mouse
-
Exactly. If the game has built-in macros, then BW has exact control over what feedback is available to them. With 3rd party macros, they don't.
-
It's not really that hard to make macros that activate only available skills instead of trying to hit each one. Well, it's a little more challenging than the 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 macro, but not by a lot
-
Well, most classes can be beastly when specced 31/31/31
