  1. well, not really... I can relate to the OP. I had over 20 days played on my toon before I pulled my cc and let my account expire becasue 1.2 just made the game not fun. I still read forums in some hope they will fix the problems that caused me to quit. I think there is value in posts like this, not so much "misery loves company" but rather, yep-me-too. I can stop playing the game, but I'm still hooked on it, or at least the version of it that I enjoyed. To expand the topic, the fact that they gave one free month just before their quarterly press release is not by chance. They bought a month, perhaps two months because the timing also forced people that played opneing day / early release to pay for another month to get the free month credit. The good news is that maybe, just maybe, they learn from their mistakes, and fix it. I would argue that people that claim there is not a problem when players are quiting left and right are causinjg more long term problems by giving false feedback to the developers. Hopefully they pay attention to metrics about play time, log in frequency and so forth, since they are flying blind for two months on lost subs.
  2. so even sages with their mirror abilities are no match for you, as a sorc? you realize that is either a contradiction, or you are just playing with bads, right?
  3. I understand your point, the problem is that you really can't pug as a sorc anymore, at least not pug and have fun. I of course prefer groups, but I like to pug inbetween groups since all I do is PvP, and sometimes I like to get one match in before dinner (or whatever upcoming event allows me 20-30 min of free time) I've tried it, I honestly gave up the game becasue I can't pug. I'm having a hard time picking another game because I enjoyed this game so much (I'm still reading forums), I guess I'll either try rift or tera... I refuse to level another toon in swtor, just because...
  4. but that is only because you are great. Most of us valor lv 80 sorcs that have been full BM for a while now that are complaining just don't have skill I suppose...
  5. /agree.... I remember at midnight CST when the servers went down for the 1.2 update, I thought, ah, it can't be as bad as all the qq in the forums... I was mistaken, it was not only bad for sorcs, but WZ rewards problems compounded it (I understand 1.2c addresses rewards) - I have not enjoyed this game since that last night of pre-1.2... my subscription times out today sometime... best of luck to the rest of you hoping the developers throw you a bone. I'm glad I had farmed out full BM gear, including both sets of mystic and masters.... I was looking forward to WH... it was fun while it lasted. To anyone that wants to tell me to L2P, well, maybe, but I've played a priest on wow since vanilla and never felt this impacted by any nerf or update that occured. Blizz has received $15/month from me for many years, it's hard to believe bioware blew it so quick, I assumed I would have at least a year or so. Yesterday EA hit a new 52 wk low on stock price... given what I've seen in this game, I'm not surprised.
  6. learn to play noob... just kidding... they killed this game with 1.2. In the scenario you described, I don't think it is a solvable problem. Best of luck!
  7. Just closing the loop since I am the OP in this thread, and this was started pre 1.2. I've tried various builds since 1.2 released, but honestly, I no longer enjoy this game or want to spend time on it. I'm glad others have mastered the 1.2 sorcerer, and I'm sure I will be told L2P, but in this case, I'll pass; I will acknowledge that L2P may very well be it, but I just don't like the new mechanics and don't have the drive to L2P... and I will admit that the rewards system for losing certainly biases my lack of interest. My time expires tomorrow, and I won't be adding time. I used to spend 3-5 hours per day, every day, playing this game and it had hooks deep. Without intending to be dramatic, I'm honestly kind of amazed at how quickly it could kill off literally overnight, I expected to not like 1.2, but really I expected that my very strong interest in the game couldn't possibly die off so quick. I was mistaken. I've played a priest on wow since vanilla, and never felt this impacted by a nerf or game changes. On a side note: Our favorite pizza joint is next to a gamestop... my son and I walked in there while waiting on our pizza yesterday, I asked the worker what was going on in MMO world (expecting to hear about pandas, tera, gw2, etc), the first words out of his mouth were "old republic is sinking like the titanic". I seriously doubt this guy had any unique insight, but I found it interesting that was his first comment... his second comment was that he got into the beta for wow and is liking it. To all those sorcs adapting and moving on, I'm impressed, I'm sure all are very skilled gamers. It's hard to say if it's my lack of skills, or just lack of willingness to accept this big of a change, but regardless, I'm calling it quits... no regrets over time or money... I probably shouldn't have farm so hard for BM sets, but oh well... who knew. Best Regards
  8. I must have missed that in the notes, I thought it was a pvp game... it sure was for 4 months... but it's sure not a pvp game now, IMHO.
  9. I'm with you 100%. My honey-do list is making good progress since 1.2 came out. This game had it's hooks in me deep, all I did was pvp, I think it topped my peak in wow even, which was a deep hook in vanilla and BC. I didn't even take the free month, I took my cc off, and it expires 4/19; I keep check back to see if their is any relief, and I'm sure I'll continue, but I'm not playing the game in it's current state. The qustion is, how many people really stop paying them, and how many are just complaining? I'll come back if they change things for the positive, I would love to play some more pre 1.2 swtor... but alas, that option is forever gone...
  10. I've tried a couple of difernt builds... all I can say is the fun in playing is gone. I used to have to resisst playing all day on saturday and do projects around the house to not draw agro from my wife, now there is no temptation at all. My wife is greatful for 1.2; I guess pay-for-view providers and redbox will be too when I start watching movies at night instead of playing swtor. I think I'll go buy a bottle of scotch...
  11. haha, you would just snipe without real constructive comments anyway. I approve this thread.
  12. Thanks for the thoughts, maybe I'll try another build. I may just not be suited to dot style play. As to Putin... hell, it may be me, I'm not saying it's not, just saying it's not working for me.
  13. well, I tried to be open minded, but after playing since this morning, I can say this: - prior to 1.2 I died failry easy if the opponent was determined, now it's just silly how easy I die. - I'm in full BM, speced madness (although new to madness from cookie cutter hybrid wrath-CL), and I never hit for more than 150K in a WZ. - I could get my 8 medals if nobody noticed me and they let me live; if the teams noticed me I would be lucky to get 4 medals becasuse I was dead so much. - I never run out of force, I never live long enough for that to be an issue... I think I'll get those talent points back, 500 is plenty, 600 just means I die with more force remaining. - Due to the fact that I don't get as many WZ comms per match now because I have a hard time consistanly hitting my 8, the gear grind got much harder. The free month is a nice offer, but I went on and left my cc off, so I'm set to be all through on 4/19 (thus passing on their offer for a free month). I'm not hell bent on quiting by any means, heck I enjoyed the heck out of this game; I'll likley keep playing some until 4/19, and hope I decide I'm wrong, but it's not looking good. I work, have kids, coach youth sports, etc... pvp is really fitting to low commitment MMO play. I really do like the gearing and itemization aspects of an MMO... I have over 20 days played into my sorc.... oh well.... next game I suppose...
  14. I had read about 23-0-18, and would appriciate any 1.2 PVP experience that anyone can share. I may just try madness tonight, but I've never really liked tab-dot play, so am interested in trying something else if it's viable.
  15. well, I don't consider group dps support necessarily, but if you define 1v1 as what defines support, then ok, I just don't consider that what makes it. 31 point madness seems like an obvoius choice, but 23-0-18 is tempting to try; I will have to learn to kite I suppose.
