  1. Tell me, exactly how did that post manage to offend you ? Were you amongst those self proclaimed MMO morale guardians that sat in Stormwind/Orgrimmar all day looking for ppl to report as well ?
  2. Atleast your spec isn't "banned" cause you're no longer a free kill for the smash/force sweep spammers
  3. This game has bugs ? Note: Somled is a known exploiter! ;-)
  4. The 100 to 0% was an example of how bad it can be. What I'm saying is that the mere fact that you can effectively disable a player for 12-15 seconds with little or no consideration is in itself extremely poor design. And the fact that several abilities neglect resolve makes it even worse. Just adding roots to resolve and making no other changes might promote melee slightly more, true, but it doesn't mean that other tweaks can't be made to counter that. And yes, if you're in a 1 vs 2 you'll probably lose it (unless there's big skill differences anyways), but it doesn't mean you should have to sit down and die whenever the stun breaker is on CD cause they keep you stun locked for 10-12sec. That's poor design imo, and contributes to lowering the skill cap of the game. As for the marauders, I have few problems kiting one all night with my healer hybrid specced sorc. DPS sorcs are a different matter though, as they're slightly lackluster in the survivability department for the time being (as is pure healing specced ones), but that's a different matter.
  5. How is it a l2p issue when you remain stun locked from 100 to 0% ? There's nothing you can do about it unless you have a 2 min cooldown up. The resolve system is absolutely terrible just for that reason, that it doesn't matter how good you are,, cause you can't control your toon until it's dead. They should adapt a system similar to WoW where the CC durations are shortened the higher the resolve bar is (and _ALL_ CC should be affected by it). That way you actually have to consider when to use CC and not just spam without thought, like it is now.
  6. Competetive PvP can't have higher than 5v5. It's too tedious to manage 8man teams (mostly cause you'll need 10-12 people to do it consistently, to cover up for AFKs). WoW even showed this. The 5v5 bracket has considerably less activity than 2v2 and 3v3. Most of the time you end up facing the same team all evening, so it becomes a matter of farm or get farmed. And the rated BGs in WoW was a complete failure as well. Besides that, the PvP in this game is in no way, shape or form suited for competitive play. The mere fact that class balancing occurs every 3 months says it all.

I agree. It's only fair that sentinels/marauders can automatically bring the enemy to 50% hp with 1 key press. After all they don't do any damage with other abilities... Note: That was sarcasm.
  8. Why on earth would you wanna queue for ranked in a LFG pug anyways ? You'll lose virtually every game, and not earn any more ranked commendations than you would playing normal games. So why not just queue for non ranked games ? Must be more fun than getting facerolled by premades every game.
  9. It is ? There's 8 people on the Fleet at this moment The only positive thing is that there's enough people that PvP to maintain decent queue time after 17:00 most of the time. Unless they intend to stuff another 10 realms onto Red Eclipse, I guess we'll end up on Dune Bantha. It seems to be the highest (or least low) populated of the remaining, having "Standard" in the server list from time to time, where as the rest are consistent on "Low".
  10. Unless sages are gimped compared to sith sorcerers or scoundrels are a lot stronger than operatives, someone's doing something wrong. The single target throughput of a sorcerer is massive if done right, and can be sustained over virtually an unlimited amount of time.
  11. It's fine. There's pretty much only 1 way to go as sorc pve healer, besides a couple of minor personal preferences on the last couple of points. I have 2/2 Lightning Barrier and 2/2 Conspiring force instead of sith defiance, but it's a minor thing. Unless they add some dire need for dispelling physical effects.
  12. I don't see the problem here really, besides the OP being lazy. We're not talking about weeks of farming here. The barrels/hilts and armoring items cost 8 daily commendations each. Say you need 5 armoring items and 2 barrels/hilts, that's 56 commendations. Now you got 13 solo quests giving 1 commendation each. Then you got 2 4man quests and 2 2man quests, giving 3 commendations each, which gives you a total of 25 commendations per day. In addition, there's several of the non-repeatable quests on Ilum and the Belsavis bonus series that gives commendations. So 2 days after hitting 50 you can have 5 armor items and 2 weapons at ilvl126, without spending a single credit. What did you expect, to have an epic set sent to your mailbox upon reaching level 50 ?
  13. My columi pimped Xalek can tank just fine atleast. I use him to tank the 4man daily on Belsavis (can pull the packs with no CC on the quest to kill that Lord <something> guy). And he's far more convenient for gear, since you can just send your old stuff his way. If his armor buff is brought up to 150%, I'd use him over any pug tank in heroic flashpoints
  14. You won't see much of the 5k crits as a sorc (you won't even break 4k in 1 hit in full rakata gear on a pve mob without temporary buffs). Overall, the dps isn't low, but the burst damage relies on procs, which makes it rather unrealiable in pvp. In regards to buffs, I recon it's more likely we'll see some nerfs related to operative and mercenary in particular.
  15. Lightning is quite sluggish early on, but gets a lot better once you get Thundering Blast at 40, and even better once you get better gear and crit goes up a bit. Madness is the superior build for levelling up until that point (and possibly after too). It's a bit boring, and from a PvE endgame perspective, I didn't quite like the rotation. DPS wise it's probably at least on par with lightning though, but I found the latter more enjoyable.
  16. Her affection gain is a bit messed up, atleast when playing full darkside. I even got affection when flat out butchering ppl on certain quests, while doing the same during another quest gave a huge loss (-81 typically). Generally I find that she gains affection when asking the quest NPCs for more information about the mission, rather than making insults or "this is so easy" type comments towards the NPCs. You can get her (and any other companion for that matter) affection up quite rapidly with gifts tho. Here you can find info about which gifts increase affection with which companions: http://www.swtor-spy.com/companions/
  17. Xalek is a sith assassin tank, but you don't get him until you're near 50. He also uses the same kind of items as you (allthough preferably with defensive secondary stats rather than dps/healing ones), and is more convenient that way. Ashara is also a very viable companion, but requires a bit different kind of play, due to being a dps companion (more of a CC and nuke fast style, as she does considerably more dps than the tank companions).
  18. The mob that drops the com device is called Republic Armsmaster. Dunno if you have killed the right ones? Other than that, level 28 is significantly lower than what Taris is intended for (the quest in question is a lvl33-34 one if I recall correctly). Don't know if that can have any impact on things.
  19. I used Khem Val up until 35ish, when I got Ashara and pimped her gear up a bit (double orange light saber for starters) and it worked very effectively for most pulls. I sometimes swapped to Khem Val for (melee based) gold mobs. At 50 I use Xalek almost exclusively when soloing (mostly due to the strength of the mobs you face). Khem Val is probably just as good, but given that Xalek uses light armor with willpower as main stat, it's a bit more convenient gear wise, as you only get inqusitor items and mods from quests/daily quests. As you progress though, all mobs start doing a lot more damage, which eventually causes your companions to seem weaker (unless you dish out a lot of cash to keep their gear top notch possibly). Which one is better to level with is a matter of preference I suppose. Mobs will go down faster with Andronikos or Ashara, but it is slightly more demanding as you'll find yourself targeted a lot more as well, given their lack of taunt and threat abilities. The healer agent guy (don't remember his name atm ) can be fairly effective when soling some of the harder elites (in particular late class quest elites, without spoiling too much). Never tried it myself tho, but so I've heard. In general, you'll get less downtime the more effort you put in on the pulls. Use of interrupts, the stuns on shock and electrocute etc. can reduce the damage taken considerably. As will using force storm on gathered up packs of "weak" mobs, as the stun it provides causes them to virtually do no damage until they're dead.
