  1. here is mine, x3 happy new year http://www.swtor.com/user/ce/2a48m
  2. The new trailer is the only reason I came back. I want to finish the story from KoTFE chapter 9 and onwards and curious to what's coming in december.
  3. I deleted a head start character at level 43 a few days after head start to see if legacy could be restarted....it couldn't
  4. idk about average anymore but when I quit back in may I had probably around 50 mil or so with a few hundred mil worth of cartel items in my cargo holds, not sure what they are worth now, probably went up or down idk. But as others said play the GTN, see a bunch of mats for 10,000 credits a stack(or whatever is considered cheap now)? buy them all up and flip them for a profit.
  5. OP you're barking up the wrong tree with this issue. People who subbed at the time don't want others to have the stuff they got because it would invalidate their reason for subbing. People who want the stuff but didn't sub at the time think it's stupid they get left out. Then there are the people who don't care either way. I myself quit playing and uninstalled after they announced the DvL requirements weren't going to be retroactive, that I'd have to delete one of my 22 toons that I've put countless millions of credits and thousands of cartel coins into, or move to a server I don't play on to participate. I won't be getting anything from the DvL once I come back to finish the story in 45% download and I've missed whatever sub rewards they've offered since I quit. I don't want or need them so it's no problem for me. As for the stuff I already have unlocked from my 5 years(give or take a few months) of service, no I'm not going to be upset and raged that they offer them to other people who don't have it, I don't even care if they give it for free. Let people have that title that does nothing, or that companion that is just like the 50 other companions, or that gear shell that provides the same benefits/looks at some other shell in the game(looking at you Troublemaker Jacket), heck give them that recolored hk-51 too.
  6. A sandbox MMO would work in 2016 if it released with sufficient end game content, open world pvp, arenas, detailed and deep crafting system, exciting class structure, improved player housing and a solid pick up story, and if the game is set in the future or access to space in the lore a space pvp/pve sytem. Also if you added proper guild support, group support, pvp and casual support it would work. However gaming companies now are no longer interested in making the best possible MMO they can, they are interested more in making the quickest profit at the start and a sustainable milking over the years before moving on to the next project. I.E Tera, Rift, ToR, Aion, Guild Wars etc... Bioware's biggest failure is lack of communication with their fanbase. Take this event thing, they release details of the event only days before the actual release with no input on if the community/fanbase would approve of it or not, get ideas on what to change or what to add. They have an entire Suggestion forum for cartel boxes and other "suggestions" but they rarely respond or communicate those ideas back into the community.
  7. Exactly, the only reason I hate this event. I sent a ticket a few days back on having a level 60 toon I deleted back in idk probably november/december last year restored and they said "We couldn't find the character data sorry". Yet back before the start of KoTFE I was able to have my Headstart very first character that I deleted to test if you could restart legacies restored after what 4 years? That reason alone prevents me from being willing to delete another character I've put millions of credits into. and I'm not spending 10 million+ on character slots because people are going to use this as a chance to make some quick credits.
  8. The only things SWG did right was Housing, Crafting, and Pre-CU class diversity. Space was alright if you didn't mind floating around for 30+ mins waiting for something to come along. But all in all SWG isn't around because SWG was a dying game. The license was run out because ToR was releasing and SOE saw no benefit in having 2 competing MMOs in the same IP. CU happened because WoW happened btw. I was there, I was also playing FFXI(which at it's peak had 1.2 million subscribers) and when WoW came out both SWG and FFXI started to bleed subs. WoW was easier to access, easier to play, and easier to run on most low end machines. WoW opened up the MMO market from being a Hardcore Niche to being casual friendly.
  9. I don't need the event to be retroactive. I would like them to give us 2 extra slots for free. Not force me to delete one of my characters I may or may not be able to get back, or spend 10,000,000+ credits per unlock or however many cartel coins they decide to charge. The only way I'm going to agree that this is a good event worth the investment is if the items from the pack automatically unlock for your account instead of having to pay 240-400 cartel coins to unlock. I get that people are over the Anger stage of grief and are now in the acceptance stage, making posts like "I just made a guide to show you how to blah blah blah" or it's not that big of a deal blah blah blah. I can make a guide too "Delete 2 characters, go from there", doesn't change the fact I don't want to delete characters, nor do I want to spend anymore real money to participate in this event. The mount isn't special, looks generic, the companions are generic, probably throwaway companions like Nico. The titles don't do anything, the only real benefit of this event is the 85 some odd free grand chance cubes.
  10. ^ What he said. Bioware knows Founders/Veteran players will still be around, well the majority at least. This event is designed for new players. Bioware knows Veteran players will do one of three things always, 1: Either not do the event and continue to play, 2: Cancel subscription, 3: Delete characters and/or buy more slots to participate in the event. Bioware is perfectly fine with losing one or two veterans in favor of 4 new players. As for Founder/Beta only rewards? No, I got my titles I don't need to go around sporting gear saying "ha ha look what I got that you don't cause you weren't here". As for this event, it is garbage if you are not new, not willing to delete or not willing to move servers. If you are willing to do those things this is great, if you are new it is great.
  11. I've defended alot of the dumb choices your team has made over the years with this game, but this is by far the most idiotic(though very smart from a business view) thing you've done. I understand you want to recoup your losses on the packs you're giving away(if I read the preview right), but seriously your only advice is "Complete on another server" or "Buy more slots"? First: you said the rewards were tied to a legacy, I don't want to leave a server just to do this event, I like my server with my 23 characters. Second: I'm not buying another character slot from the cartel market, I don't buy coins from you anymore since you decided lottery boxes inside lottery boxes was a good idea. Third: You going to refund the millions of credits people are going to have to pay to buy slots off the gtn? Nope Fourth: What about those of us who have 20+ characters who maxed out their legacy bonuses, You going to refund the credits/cartel coins for those characters we have to delete to participate in this event? Nope I'm not one to shy away from deleting a toon to make another, I've hit endgame with alot of toons only to delete them and remake it's how I stayed in the game after 5 years, however after receiving a response to my ticket to restore one of my deleted 60's you guys said you lost the character data. I'm not about delete another toon with millions of credits and hundreds if not thousands of cartel coins invested when you guys may or may not even be able to bring it back.
  12. O.o This thread is still going??? I guess it is kinda good to see you're stance go from the worst decision ever made to "it's not a disastrophe at least". You still dead set on not playing KoTFE at all?
  13. They plan on releasing Companion Customization kits in the cartel market for 500-1200cc. Upon buying said kit you will receive a box with a random kit, when you open the box you'll receive another random box graded bronze silver or gold, then you'll open that box and it'll give you a kit. Or you'll put the box on the gtn where someone will undercut your price by 80% cause reasons. Then once you unlock the kit you can go into collections and spend another 60, 240, 400 cc to unlock that kit for your entire account.
  14. ^this. I have stacks of 400 for each grade of purples for all crafting and stacks of 5000 or more for every mat(with the exception of grade 9, but I'm building on those atm). I stopped crafting for myself when I realized I could just buy mods and armorings from the 50 vendor back when it was Rakata level. All I do now is stockpile my mats. I don't want to sell them cause idk sorta feels like I have a swimming vault full of gold ala Scrooge McDuck. But I have to say it's taken since release to amass that much so idk he could be duping or he could have a stockpile like I do.
  15. For the most part Pugs I've joined in the past have been, well....neckbeards, not that I'm saying all are ofc, however with that said one of the daily gen chats on fleet is almost always how terrible pugs are. I do not join Pugs because I am deaf and most of the time I would be required to have TS, TS is of no use to me, though I can make out some things through vibrations on my eardrums most of the time it's garbled so I indeed spend most of my time in pvp and doing story content now because while I'm reduced to little or no sound subtitles are a godsend. While my being deaf is only recent and hopefully not permanent(though it'll likely be), Unless I'm in a group with people that know me I simply cannot raid. Not so much that I can't be "bothered" to download TS or watch a video, but that the pug raid group cannot be "bothered" to type out directions, nor do they care if I watch videos of how a boss fight goes down and my role in it. idk why the community can't be "bothered" with this kind of stuff nowadays but doesn't change the fact not everyone doesn't do something simply because they don't want to. Obviously I'm not championing Solo Operations for people who don't want to be bothered or simply do not want to do something. I myself get labled as a filthy casual(even though I probably put more time into this game than most of the people in this thread) because I have different views on the game(you can see them in posts above and the last 3 pages). However going from being able to raid and not being able to raid I've started playing this game with a different mindset. My Ops times have been replaced with experiencing the story, pvp, roleplay, crafting and exploration due to my disability and I can tell you right now it sucks royally to not be able to finish something because I'm locked out of it, not because I don't know how to do it, but because Pugs these days can't be bothered to explain without the need for TS. People forget and just don't care that people with limitations play these types of games as well, all they see is "zomg you wanna take away my stuff and ruin the game for me", but that is the nature of the internet. So everyone from the last 3 pages go ahead dislike me all you want that's fine, but remember then next time you pvp and get beat down back to back, it just might be me......or that person you beat down back to back might be me also, either way I'll still be having fun. /salute and peace
  16. "This boss, phase 1 stay out of the goo, phase 2 tank and off tank die be ready to rez, phase 3 dps kill adds asap". It's not hard, doesn't take long. I don't like TS requirement because I'm deaf. I've raided since Everquest and never needed a TS that and with my guild moving to another game is another reason I don't join Pugs. Now if other people are not capable of following directions without a voice telling them the exact moment they need to jump and/or watching boss videos before attempting an operation that's hardly my problem.
  17. The point is to cause melee as much trouble as possible in pvp, Take cover right before the Warrior/Knight gets to the last tick of their ravage/blade dance and they miss out on hitting you with the hardest part of it. Take Cover to me isn't that bad to deal with, what I hate the most in pvp is the Operative/Scoundrel version, runaway for days makes going up against one a pain in the butt as melee. However if the sniper/slinger is any good they can use Take Cover and their knockback/slows to keep a melee from ever landing a blow on them.
  18. Toxic much? Someone doesn't have your playstyle(even though you have no idea what my playstyle is) and they are automatically egocentric and hypocritical? Thank you for proving exactly why a majority of casuals don't want anything to do with group content. The L2Pnewb/ piss off crowd like this is what is really killing the MMO community. I hope you pvp, if not I'll just pretend everyone I beat down in my matches today are you ty for the inspiration <3 Yes I could do the Ops, I have no problem with that, I have no idea where anyone is getting the idea that by my disagreeing with how Oricon was handled has anything to do with my willingness to do said content outside the fact I said my 22 characters are still at that point. Why are they? Not because I don't want to do the Ops, but because I refuse to do an Ops with neckbeard pugs, I can't get my friends to come because they moved to another game due to lack of new operations, and the ones who are left are here for story only or roleplay, and they either moved factions or refuse to do ops because they don't do ops. And yes I agree, having a subscription doesn't entitle me to everything 100% free, never said it did. Since beta this community has been split into thirds, one part pvp, one part pve and one part story. You also have people like me who mix all three into it but those are the three groups. Some people strictly pvp, (I have one toon who is there for nothing but pvp she still has her DK class quest), while some people don't do anything without a group. That's fine if that's how they want to play, but as I said before people who are only doing something as a way of clearing the gate for story do not contribute and are the reason Pugs are neckbeards and PvP teams lose(sometimes). If a Solo ops like ToS was available for Story Content which is the reason alot of the people who still play are here for it's not a bad idea, just as long as Bioware doesn't gut group content in the process which is what I've been saying this entire time, but for some reason it isn't being understood. Now I'm done see you in game o/
  19. Does Oricon have cutscenes? Does Oricon have mention of your previous actions on Belsavis in said cutscenes? If so(which they do) it is part of the story. Hutt cartel isn't required either, I can completely skip that planet, but if I do I miss out on story content and mentions in future content as well as knowledge of what happens I.E what is Isotope 5 and why is it mentioned so many times? I would never know that stuff if I didn't do makeb myself. Gated content doesn't mean completely blocked out, it means you cannot progress further unless you do what is needed to unlock said gate I.E need a key for that door? Sure I can go run into the ops to progress the quest, but unless I join a group that particular gate is LOCKED to me. Same with Pierce, yes someone can que for pvp, but guess what happens when someone who doesn't want to pvp but wants the follower because they want to clear up their quest log/alert log? They que and don't CONTRIBUTE to their team, bringing their team down. Not good for pvp or pve, but what your saying is I should just go ahead and join a pug group for Dread Palace but stay at the entrance? Nah that'll get me kicked. Well can I watch the cutscenes? Nope if I don't space bar that'll get me kicked too. Yes I still have to do the Revan fight even if I do it solo, but is that what I'm complaining about? No I've completely fine with doing the fight solo or with a group, it's fun either way, however I DON'T have to join a group to finish Yavin, I can do all of Korriban, Drumond Kaas, Balmorra, Nar Shadda, Tantooine, Alderaan, Hoth, Belsavis, Quesh, Makeb, Ziost, Rishi, and all the other planets in the game by myself, and I can do Oricon Planet Story Arc by myself except for the very last part. That is like an Ops group being able to fight all the bosses in an Ops until the very last one where you have to que for a spaceship battle. Or a pvp team is able to score 5 goals in huttball but to score the last one they have to go gather Rubaat crystals. As you said group play is there for people of LIKE MIND, how is forcing someone who is here only for story to group with someone they don't know and probably don't get along with "like minded"? I don't want PvE players in my pvp matches because they bring down my team, they don't contribute to our win. and I don't want someone in full pvp gear in my Ops because they too won't contribute to my win(though that could probably fly here). Expertise serves no purpose in PvE content, and no Expertise serves no purpose in PvP content. I don't think I've seen anyone in this thread say all Ops need a solo version, they said Ops that pertain to the story need a solo option. Dread Palace, SnV and I think EC are the ops that are brought up in the warnings someone would see when they click the ship terminal to start story content. And yes solo operations would be cool to have as well. Just because I support that idea doesn't mean I support gutting group content.
  20. I'm going to bet Scorpio betrays you, Koth gives up the location of Odessa, Senya turns on you before you land the deathblow on Arcann and Vaylin turns on Arcann and joins you.
  21. Bioware did lock story behind an Ops gate. You cannot finish Oricon story quest unless you do Dread Palace Operation. That is locked behind an Ops gate since I cannot finish the quest unless I do the ops. Pierce is also locked behind a PvP gate unless you are rank 40 pvp or a SW. Again can't get Pierce unless you do one of those 2 things so yes locked behind a PvP gate. I can also support Solo Ops and Support not messing with Current Ops mechanics they are not one in the same. I didn't say "Ya'll mofos need to make Dread Palace solo and gut group content, but don't change the group content." I said I support Solo Ops, but not at the expense of Group Operations. And yes an MMO you can build Community through group quests, but you can also destroy that community when you force people not interested in that portion of the game to do said quests to finish what they are doing I.E Oricon you don't create community you tear it apart I.E this thread. Sure you don't need to finish Oricon, nor do you need Pierce but why does someone need to Participate in PvP to get a PvE companion? Pierce doesn't aid you in PvP so why? Why can I do solo story flashpoints so I can get that extra dialogue later in the story, but I can't finish a Planet unless I sit in the que for an hour and more than likely get grouped with a frustrating bunch of neckbeards? Sure I can join my friends and have them come with me, oh wait nvm all of them left the game or switched to a different faction, guess I'm SoL there. Yavin was a very good decision on Bioware's part, allowing me the option of doing Temple solo with no drops, or doing it with a group for drops, why can't they do that will all story content? And yes someone is telling me how to play I play MMO's because I like the feel of having other people going about their business without being forced to join them. I can communicate with them if I wish, or if I have the time I can join them in an ops or some heroics, and sometimes I like to face off against them and lay a beat down on them after a hard days work, or have my over confidence put into check by one of them. I don't play MMO's to be subject to someone else's idea of what I should be doing with my time. Also just a personal opinion...ToR is still alive because of these filthy casuals only here for the story and other things to do.
  22. I support the idea of Solo Story operations. I have 22 characters that are at the last quest on Oricon unable to complete the planet. Sure I could join a que whenever the daily/weekly gf thing is up but I don't simply because I don't want to have to download TS, Vent or Mumble or skype or whatever the hell people can't just type instructions for. Bioware should have never locked Story content behind the Ops gate ever, just like they should have never locked Pierce behind the pvp gate. I don't care what your opinion on what an MMO is, you don't pay my subscription and you're not going to tell me how I can and "should" be playing a game I paid for myself, but that aside they should not alter regular Ops mechanics to suit the needs of solo players, just like they shouldn't nerf PvE skills because people in PvP cry and vice versa. I get that people can't grasp the idea that Solo minded players play MMO's just like most people can't grasp the fact that people RP in MMO's and not everyone that does is an ERP'er, but this mentality of "group play only ****" does nothing to unite the community and honestly makes more casual players not want to participate in group content. But can you honestly look at this game post-RoTHC and say it is a group friendly MMO not a casual solo friendly MMO anymore?
  23. My mando character hasn't done KoTFE yet so idk how he'll react yet, He started off as just a hunter and was adopted into the Mandos but idk if he'll fully embrace it or not. As for Mandalorians....no...I fully believe what Lana said, throughout all the games Mandalorians have been bloodthirsty warriors seeking the next big fight. After you take Zakuul guess who is going to be in their sights next....you(if you aren't a mandalorian). Yes they are honorable as long as you can defeat them into submission, but they are not a loyal people to outsiders. imo
  24. Worthy Opponents? The Exarchs in the Star Fortress heroics. Those fights were so fun and hard for me the first time cause I went in bare bones. I was in 190 blues didn't have any alliance buffs and my companion was only rank 7. I died like 7 times on the first fortress but I took my time used CC for the first time since 1.0...it felt great when I finally dropped her.
  25. I don't get the impression that she hates the PC, only that she does what her brother says cause she thinks it is fun, that she hates her mother and father, but for the most part she seems to enjoy the damage that you do and the trouble you cause for her brother. As for trusting her? I trust her as much as I trust any SIth companions or any of the Alliance members. Honestly Theron and Lana are the only 2 alliance members I'd probably trust and it'll probably come and bite me in the arse at a later date.
