  1. First, my post wasn't a Troll Post. Being a huge fan of KOTOR 1 and 2, I had such high hopes for TOR. And even though it failed on many levels, I still want it to get better. I want to play a quality built TOR, but as it currently stands it is not worth the subscription. And doing nothing else but making it F2P doesn't change the fact that the game is lacking in every single department. Second, this is one idea to vastly improve the game experience. A game of this magnitude should be more than just a grind, it should be an experience. The environments shouldn't just be bland and tasteless filler that gets you from one quest hub to another. This idea wouldn't just extend to Alderaan and Hoth, either. Every planet would have its own little quirks. For example Balmorra should have small to medium sized hives of Colicoids pop up around the environment. The colicoids would attack the random NPCs around them. But they would be killable, and you'd be able to destroy the nest to return that area to normal. This one idea would make each planet feel alive in its own unique way. And I have many more ideas that do directly affect the gameplay.
  2. Hi There! Unfortunately, a lot of the development ideas of TOR have been abysmal failures. I, like many other fans, had a lot of hope for the game that could have been. So, I am offering myself up should Bioware choose to hire me for my ideas to turn this game around and make it successful. I will offer up one idea for free as evidence of the many great ideas I have. My first suggestion is this: The environment feels dead. I don't mean the community, or the community size. I mean the actual in game environments feel dead. The worlds should feel like an active environment that actually affects the character. For example, Alderaan (despite the ongoing civil war) should be teeming with life. Little 1 HP creatures should be running around, frolicking and most importantly, interacting with the characters and the NPCs in some way or another. Not only would this make you feel more involved with the world around you, it would actually make Alderaans destruction by the Death Star hurt a little bit more. Hoth, on the other hand, should actively be trying to kill you. Anyone out on the plains of Hoth should take active damage from the cold. UNLESS they are wearing either one of a couple of specific armors, or padded cloth suit buff that shows up cosmetically over your armor, but costs money. Anyone caught out on the plains of Hoth at night should be in deep trouble, even with their protective clothing. Which brings me to another point. Night Time. There should be day / night schedules. One of the biggest things that makes the worlds feel dead is the fact that the sun never goes down. Or in some areas, it never comes up. Or a storm never comes through. Without changing weather, the places just feel dead. That one idea would go really far to make The Old Republic an experience, and namely a unique when repeated experience. I have many other ideas to make The Old Republic a great game. At least 6 major ideas, with many minor alterations. My ideas are awesome, and my requested starting salary is $50,000 , but it is definitely negotiable. Please get in touch with me by this thread, or through my account info (if you are Bioware).
  3. Knocked it out of the park. I've yet to see such a comprehensive list on so many swings and misses by Bioware.
  4. It was like that in KOTOR 2, and it was awesome. Good thing the morons ditched that system.
  5. 1 Fundamental Way to Revitalize Subscription: Make the game different, innovative and fun. If you want to keep bleeding Subscriptions, keep your game boring and identical to every other MMO designed for 5 year olds out there.
  6. I haven't played a Bounty Hunter yet, but from KOTOR 1 and 2, bounty hunters are not necessarily Mandalorians. If you're looking for a third faction that has a stake or desire for the galaxy, it's no the syndicate, the exchange, or the hutts. It is the Mandalorians.
  7. I'm still not going to pay ANY credits for things that should be unlocked by legacy levels alone.
  8. If there was to be a third faction, it should be a Mandalorian faction. Probably limited to 2 classes to start with.
  9. The Weapons in LOTRO grew with you. You would almost put notches on them you'd get so attached. The system was set up so that you would learn it, and it would learn you, and your skills would get stronger as you used it more. In TOR the weapons really are nothing more than graphical place holders for Item Mods. They have no meaning, function, or change of gameplay past just holding the item mods.
  10. KOTOR was named the Game of the Year for a reason. It is spectacular and groundbreaking. I STILL go back to it every few months and do a play through. KOTOR 2 included. It is $10 currently on steam, but is often on sale for much less. On the one hand, if you consider yourself even a moderate gamer who likes great gameplay and awesome stories, then you need to buy KOTOR. On the other hand, getting within 10 feet of KOTOR will make it extremely clear just how bad TOR is, despite having many, many, many times the budget and many more years of development.
  11. Legendary Items in this game are a good idea if only because the current state of gear is so soulless. We need gear that has meaning and that you get attached to, metaphorically speaking. Personally I like LOTRO's system of having randomly acquired stat / ability modifiers on a weapon that you level up with XP. Though I do have to admit that I haven't ever seen any other system.
  12. I'll be positive about June and TOR if the devs promise to overhaul their boring gameplay. I'll resubscribe if they promise to do it even if it takes 3-5 months.
  13. I didn't expect much. Just that they take all the successes of KOTOR 1+2 and keep them, instead of taking all the best things about KOTOR and tossing them out the window. TOR literally kept all the bad parts, and tossed the good ones. The devs act like the Voice Overs are an excuse for spectacular mediocrity of necessary game elements.
  14. When the wings on the shoulders of too many pieces of armor are big enough to accidentally decapitate a random person walking by, bioware should probably redo the armor.
  15. I'm tempted to keep my awesome idea to myself, but in reality I DO want TOR to succeed. Republic Class: Wookiee. Only playable by Wookiees (though it does open up the wookiee species for other classes). The Wookiee starts on Kashyyk Planet and has to defend against an Imperial onslaught to pre-empt the Wookiee's involvement in the war. The extended story lines revolve around getting the Wooks involved in the conflict in greater roles. Spec #1 Melee Wook: Using single vibroblade AC Tree #1: Tank Wook. AC Tree #2: Rage Wook. You start a rage and get great damage, but are weaker when you fall out of rage. Spec #2 Blaster Wook: Uses Blaster Rifles AC Tree #1: Bowcaster Wook. Burst Damage. AC Tree #2: Technology Wook. Use of technodamage and drones for damage + crowd control. Shared AC Tree: Grenades. Imperial Class: Emperor's Guard. Playable by Humans and Cyborgs. These are the Emperor's personal guards. Basically they are non-force users that the Emperor uses when he can't trust his apprentices that are always looking to kill him 24/7/365. The basic plot line is a newly christened Imperial Guard (replete with Red Outfit) works to foil inner empire plots against the Emperor. The Guard goes from Sergeant to Colonel in the service. I am unsure as to which planet to start on. Perhaps a new area of Dromund Kaas? Perhaps entirely aboard a Space Station? Spec #1 Melee: The Guards are given dual bladed vibroblades. AC Tree #1: Single Target Damage AC Tree #2: AOE Damage. Spec #2 Ranged: The Guards can pick between blaster rifle or pistol. AC Tree #1: Ranged AOE Damage. AC Tree #2: Crowd Control. Shared AC Tree: Great Group healing, poor Single Target healing. I'm willing to get hired by Bioware to help develop these new classes.
