  1. Deception Sin's were the games original Heal killers. All of our major damage is in burst abilities that we have to run around get proc'd before we can unleash. It use to be that way, now we have to catch a healer between 50 and 75% health. My strat has alway been to run around doing basic attacks till I have all my specials proc'd up then wait for that healer(Sorc healer almost exclusively these days) to come along with some missing health and having just popped a bubble stun. Once I start at you back it will take 6 GCD's to unload and I will still possibly have more after but hopefully you are dead at that point. Your only hope is to stun and run at about the 4th GCD. At that point you can heal up and I can reliably burst you back down with out some more set up or some focus help from other players. If you team is good then they see you have a Decep Sin or Inf Shadow on you and they take us down quick or CC us so you get away. We are very very squishy and loose in most 1on1's where ppl know their class but that is offset by our ability to quickly rack up kills among a death ball.
  2. Funny if it's snark, Funny if it's honest. Just funny, now to go troll the ranked queue.
  3. Not to necro post, but here have been some changes. It is still doable but only if someone has recently achieved the datacrons the correct way, otherwise the datacrons will not be there when you fall through the rock. If you don't see the faint glow of the datacron through the rock then this trick will not work. Seems to be a 4.1 stealth nerf, GG Bio, nerf the exploit but don't fix the issue that forces people to exploit, like making the data packets at the very least re-lootable.
  4. I'm certain this has been brought up before but persistence is a virtue. Can we get a Character sheet tab for PvP gear so that a) it saves storage space and b) just makes it easier to switch gear. I realize that clicking to equip gear is not difficult but given the ambiguity of some of the icons you really have to pay attention to know if you have all your gear equipped. Then there is the added pain of implants and relics that very rarely swap by just clicking, usually I have to manually equip by dragging in the character sheet to ensure both slots get the right gear and not just the first slot. Since the introduction of the outfit tabs it is evident that this should be an easy add to the game and is a long time coming.
  5. Ok, here is how it went down... and if you blinked you missed it. Chapter 1 starts but (in my case Imperial not sure if it's the same for Pubs) you have to listen close to Darth Marr closely. You are part of a fleet that is tracking, not the emperor, but a trail left by unknown attackers that have been hitting both republic and imperial core worlds. Marr believes it has something to do with the Emperor because there were never any survivors and clues as to what happens in battles are scant. Back home the Republic and Empire as busy pointing fingers and licking their wounds after the crippling losses for both on Ziost. The implication is that it is months after Ziost and this is the best lead the small alliance has on the whereabouts of the attackers and possibly the Emperor. The trailer is meant to introduce us to the Eternal Empire and show us that they are the instigators of recent events and little else other than this has been a plan a long time in the making. In fact the entire reason the Empire returned was on Valkorion's (as the Emperor) command to wage war with the Republic, so it at least goes back centuries but this phase goes back 20 years with the birth of Thexan and Arccan. I'm not sure why BW did not have us play through a few story missions that had us investigate some of these battle sites other than there would have been no combat since everything was dead and the attacker were long gone leaving now trace. It would have cleared up a lot of misunderstanding. What will be interesting is to see how Valkorion's plan unfolds. He did not get killed, he let himself be killed that much I know. So what is his ultimate plan with Arccan? EDIT: There was a greater conflict in the 5 years you spent in carbonite that pretty much subjugated the galaxy, except the Empire and Republic are still trying to fight each other and are continuously encourage and abetted by the Eternal so they continue to weaken themselves. It hasn't been revealed why Arccan did not completely wipe out both sides or it may have been and I blinked. As to the other inconsistencies, I think other posts have illuminated those quite well.
  6. Hate to necro (semi-necro) in this case but I was searching for changes to Force and Tech power. I finally got around to leveling my Rage Jugg and noticed that every single story mission shield award was Tech power. Found this to be odd and by looking at the stats change in the force pull down of the character screen the effect was the same regardless of if I had a shield with tech power or force power equipped. I think these two stats were combined with the mastery stat switch to just "mastery." I'm still looking for a second confirmation of this though. Summary: Tech Power and Force Power have the same effect now regardless of class that uses it. But I want confirmation this is true.
  7. Now that you mention it... I have noticed this. I kinda figured it was a skill someone had I was unaware of. If it's not then... yeah its a problem as It has caused me lots of confusion in these ranked matches. Im going to pay more attention but I think I've even dropped friendly targets... ie target goes completely blank, doen't just switch to another friendly or enemy.
  8. Funny how the more this game changes the more people stay the same. Instead of complaining about the solo que, find or form a group. Think of it this way.... unranked = High school athletics, Ranked Solo = College Intramural , Ranked Group = as close to professional as you can get.. That being said, yes there needs to be a check for basic gear on que. Lots of other good suggestions in this threat that are unfortunately retreads from every single season... Open larger maps w/ larger teams Rank based on gear levels Rank based on performance and contribution vs. pure win/loss Lock outs for those that leave after joining Bans based on metrics that catch AFK or trolling players etc etc etc At the end of the day, it's a game. Take each situation and treat it as a challenge to be overcome and go down fighting.
  9. Does anyone bother to read anymore or just knee jerk to hackneyed responses. The OP is not complaining so much about the ban but is simply warning people that some mice can cause a problem . With the prevalence of Razer mice now it is a problem for a many a game devs. The Razer MMO mice will indeed continuously spam what ever key you have bound to them at the poll rate you have set for the mouse. If you have that poll rate set high, just a quick press of a button can send 10 command requests to the server... Hold that button down for a few seconds and the server will rightly get miffy. Thank you OP for pointing this out as there are probably a number of people that might catch.
  10. EA/Bio will never release an API that's too that other company that is synonymous with blowing snow. I don't know if the game makes enough revenue for them to invest in a deep mobile app... though it is needed and very much wanted.
  11. Scoundrel hats that don't make you look like you have a tooth ache, Inquisitor hats that don't make you look like the Grand Pubah of the Royal Buffalo Lodge, etc. All I'm saying.
  12. There are a lot of people returning to SWTOR with the new expansion and the x12 xp boost. It's way past time to get this fixed. Even with the x12 xp no one is going to want to re-roll their main to earn achievements and titles they have already completed. It is my understanding that there was a system in place to take care of this when the achievement system was first introduced but did not work correctly. Fix it. It's not rocket science to check a character db table to discern progression and walk a tree backwards to apply a few tags in a characters table. Any competent programmer could knock out this code in a few hours or less and testing between now and the next patch. Lastly, it would also be nice to have a Dev finally weigh in on this issue and let the community know what the hold up is, that they are working on it... or if such is the case .... fluff off and find another game.
  13. And you wont. The way the speed hacks work allows the player to adjust their speed so instead of moving at 200% they may only be moving at 110%. The only way to catch them is to frap when its obvious otherwise even in a review it would be almost undetectable. The resolve hacks are more obvious and I see them alot.
  14. BioWare was a victim of its own Hype. They let the user base in long before they should have. Three+ years of forum threads and any user base will get ants in their pants. It will be a study in marketing departments for years to come about how this was the most hyped game that lead to large pre-order sales but ultimately forced their relase to great damage to company image and continued subs.
  15. I generally do not post in forums, check my join date vs. my number of posts. But one in awhile I'll get that proverbial hair up my ***** that won't go way till I do. First I don't have a problem with the launch of the Game it was mostly smooth from a technological stand point of server not crashing or needing to be taken down every 30 min for an emergency patch. However the communication regarding when people would actually get in was terrible as many people (not including me) had scheduled to take off work or generally schedule their life around the launch. This affected so many people that a lot of the game population started with an already negative view of the game. So now you get in the game and start playing. The story is rich and the voice acting is great although the FPPOV one liners from your toon gets annoying and generally does not fit the dialogue. The game play is very much like WOW and every other "cookie cutter" MMO over the past decade... no real surprise there and it makes it easy for the masses to jump right into the game w/ little learning curve. Its a business decision. Now after 1 week of hardcore play or 1 month of casual play you've reached the max level and now its time to either .. pvp by getting your head handed to you till you get some pvp equipment, roll and alt and see the other stories, or run the same flash points over and over and over again. Once again this isn't any different from any of the major MMO's on the market today. The conclusion is that BiO did not do anything wrong other than fail to realize that WoW has taken the air out of the MMO market with its mechanics. Most will not see SWTOR as anything other than a WOW, EQ2, EQ...etc clone with no real innovation. The MMO market is starting to bifurcate where one half is still very much happy and accepting of the WoW model and the other half want something new and innovative. Someone earlier in this thread said "Sandbox MMO's are dead." Well, they were never really alive other than UO way back in its earliest days and SWG Pre Cu. People are screaming for sandbox and that is backed up by the social media craze. Players are People first and demand to be individuals and stand out. They like to be independent in what they do, not lead by the nose. The next MMO that turns its player base loose and gives them the tools and MORE IMPORTANTLY the in game education to use those tools will win. SWG failed by not giving more tutorials that showed new people how to play a sand box game and also failed by not having story teller in the game soon after launch. Is SWTOR loosing subs? Yes, are they getting new subs faster than they are losing.. /shrug .. I don't know. What I do know is that my server use to have a long que and it was not uncommon to wait 30min to 1.5 hours to get on. Now you always drop right in and most planets have at most 30 people on them and its the only instance.
  16. they are working on a PVP, PVE and EU RP server. The PVP will be Empire on Port Nowhere. http://decembercrew.swtorlaunch.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=436972&TabID=3731567 Im starting the December Dawn Republic guild on the same server as an option. As a true procrasitinator, I do not have a website up.
  17. Well, this will be the most epic thread in the history of SWTOR's history. Here's to peaking early, nowwere from here but up. Course if LA pulls a SWG moment then we might get beat. It was an honor and a privilege. See some of you in game.
  18. Ahhh, fond memories. The fish in Lake Travis are still hunting me.
  19. Anyone going to attend one of the launch parties? The one in Austin is 2 miles away from a SCUBA shop I taught at during 2000-2002. I was thinking of driving down to the event and saying "hidy" to some old friends.
  20. Did maintenance come early? Or, did the sleep monster take the procrastination away?
  21. Creating a Decemberists Republic PVP Guild on Port Nowhere. Sign up here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=337814#post337814 For a Sith Guild go here: http://decembercrew.swtorlaunch.com/...&TabID=3731567 So much for procrastinating there December Crew!
  22. Then Port Nowhere will be the HQ of December Dawn as well. We will talk about maybe having a pitch fight somewhere on someday.
  23. Fury reaks of action. I prefer a more subdued approach. Say some words and see if they respond. It works sometimes, maybe.
