  1. Your guides have been great. Can't t wait to see what this one has in store. I'm not running dps currently, but so be nice to see what the options are. Appreciate the time and effort taken to put it together.
  2. No problem Torvai, yes I am American lol. These things are all true. Definitely helps to have people who will focus target and get out of the way of aoe damage and using Los properly. The modifiers are awesome once you get used to it. Helps with taunting main, heavy dps or swapping guards to focus targets.
  3. Thanks Andrew. That might be what I'm experiencing atm. I notice in some games I perform exceptionally well. Smuggler or Mando heals I can swap guard and taunt with minimal effort with my current stats. My buddies were saying that it may be the people around me at other times when I feel like I'm less applicable in combat still not 100% sure, but I'm willing to test all possibilities because I'm trying to be the best player for the team without having to roll another char lol. Been guardian since launch and was always dps, but I fell in love with tank in 4.0 so just trying to find and make sure what I'm doing is viable, so I can help other guardians out and lessen the time of then needing to test like we are. Lots of guides for pvp dps Guard but nothing on pvp tanking. Finding that odd and those currently doing it I find myself noticing that they're just trying to dps and as a tank that's not what we solely do. So I'm glad that you and Torvai are taking the time out to leave your opinions and thoughts.
  4. Thank you. Definitely appreciate the input. Will be working on this when I get home today.
  5. That was perfect actually Torvai. I already knew tho that force and tech couldn't be defended against, but I was hoping that shield and absorb would make up there, but if I'm reading right even that is a waste in comparison to high endurance and power modding. I have noticed against sniper/gunslinger that my defense being so high is perfect, especially when I hit riposte and and whatever master strike is called now. I get 40% defense. Going to try dps enhancements and high endurance mods since I have them, actually might go power for the extra heal bubble from blade storm (blade barricade) ear piece and implants are you thinking the same? Or leave them as tank?
  6. This is not true. You can trigger riposte with guardian slash as well. Far as augments go I have no idea pvp wise. I'm currently testing and trying to figure this out myself. PVE wise a mixture of shield and absorb is best. I'm currently at 50% both absorb and shield in 230 rating gear and 30% defense. Hope this helps.
  7. Been skimming through all the other classes and noticed that this class is the only one lacking community discussion. On my guardian I personally rather enjoy tanking I also really enjoy pvp, sooooo with all this being said I'm kind of re hatching an age old question and am asking for any other tanks out there to voice any opinion you have so we can finally begin to put gear sets together properly for PVP. MITIGATION VS SPONGE? This is asking whether or not any of the pvp guardians out there see a significant difference between stacking defense, shield and absorb vs stacking high endurance? MITIGATION AND SPONGE VS DAMAGE? Kind of referencing to the question above, but I wanted to seperate them. Are any of you finding it beneficial to go the route of tank armorings with dps enhancements and augments? Or going the route of all defensive stats and power/versatile augments? I myself have been running pure tank. Both tank gear and augments. 50/50 shield and absorb with 30% defense. I run this thinking that my shield would be up 50% of the time thus absorbing 50% of the incoming damage with a 30% Chance to not be hit at all, but I feel like this might not be true in pvp. It seems to work most of the time and others not so much?? If that makes sense. Maybe due to having a good healer and group comp vs the alternative. Anyways any input is welcome and I would like to keep this drama and judgment free if possible. Everyone has an opinion and I'm just looking to try and help heighten the experience for myself and other guardian/juggernauts out there looking for answers. Links are welcome as well and if you can point to certain facts on the forums that would also be great. I will continue testing and posting my findings.
  8. I've just gotten back. Not sure if any of the names are familiar but I also play Harbinger Pub and imp. Qai'Segin on Pub and Qai-Segin on Imp. Think most knew me as Qai'roc or Aiyinstorm. Been thinking about testing out Ebon, but want to make sure Harb has completely fallen before making the transfer.
  9. Ah nice. Didn't even pay attention to the fact that they changed it to focus costing abilities. That will make a big change in my numbers. Sad beacause now I have to rethink my build lol just a tad
  10. I don't want to say stacking Alacrity is right or wrong. All I can do is speak from my experience of gameplay with and without it. Without Alacrity, Stacking crit and using Mastery Augments I have 40.15 crit with a 70 crit multiplier that's 1525 rating for those who like the number over the percent. I have 103.07 Accuracy. Running this build I have found myself able to kill targets a lot quicker there for being more helpful in a rated or solo environment do to my powerhouse hits instead of apm. APM is nice, but theres nothing greater than seeing your overhead slash continuosly hitting someone for 19k or better MS ticks hitting for 9k or better and bladestorm hitting for 11k or better. In a good match my opening rotation can net me almost 55-60k if I don't get KB or stunned within the time frame of my abilities being up. I've been able to net 3.0kdps crit spec'd and 3.5dps alacrity spec'd again tho to me that seems more for stat searching than anything else because I'll have more kills overall and in a taking node environment 98% of the time I will beat out someone spec'd alacrity. If you like seeing big numbers i.e 3mill damage total with 3k+dps then I would suggest running alacrity. With pvp always changing and never being one dimensional it's hard to decide on one particular way of play. I also have given up pooled hatred because I feel as Vigil spec you don't get as much from it as lets say Rage/focus spec. Only one ability benefits from the skill and you almost will never get the full stack due to our rotation. With that being said Alacrity isn't "necessary" to answer the question of the thread. It's solely dependent on the style of play in which you are trying to do.
  11. Objective for This Guide Focus targeting and you Marked Targets and Key binding the Symbols Warzones: What types and the objectives behind them to secure wins OBJECTIVE FOR THIS GUIDE: FOCUS TARGET AND YOU: MARKED TARGETS AND KEYBINGING SYMBOLS: WARZONES; ALDERAAN/CIVIL WAR; VOIDSTAR; USEFUL TIP; Another good useful tip and tool of the trade is grenades. You can buy these off GTN or a cybertech can make them. I tend to use the freeze bombs and slows so I don’t give the enemy player resolve a.k.a. white bar. On Offense in Void star this is where dps and tactics shines. This is all about strategy and trying to off balance the opposing team so you can get a cap on the doors. Kill marked targets and try to watch for when the doors will open. I tend to give this job to fellow dps. Makes no sense to drop a healer or tank with one tick on the door because they’ll just be coming right back out. Instead wait for that tick to drop and then proceed with the kill. When I was Ops Leader before valor 100  *CRIES*I use to call out number on ticks on doors so people would know when to kill. Sadly at my valor rank now I don’t get the chance to be lead anymore…. Thanks Bioware for making Valor 100 completely useless. Anyways try and do this and once the first door or any door for that matter is capped try not to focus on dps so much and kills, but instead turn your focus to slows and stuns, slowing the enemy team so you can get in front of them for an easier cap ahead. I can’t tell you how often I watch people kill them whole team right where the door blows and we have a significant lead, but get greeted by the enemy team across the way. HYPERGATE; HUTTBALL; NOVARE COAST; ONE LAST USEFUL AND VERY IMPORTANT TIP!!! NO ONE! I REPEAT NO ONE SHOULD BE GOING INTO WARZONES AT MAX LEVEL WITH ANYTHING LESS THAN 2K EXPERTISE MAX IS 2018. If you are a pvper you know that you can pvp from 60-65 and get at least 10k comms that would net you a full set of the tier one gear. 22500 comms will get you fully geared in top tier gear. Choice is yours, but expertise is valuable. Even if you pve and decide you want to pvp take the time to get the gear so you don’t bring your team down with you. You wouldn’t want to take an under geared class into a hard mode instance with you so respect our craft as well.
  12. I know this has been around for a while, but just lately it has become a larger annoyance! Huttball it is impossible to leap to any target when needed, between missing the target by 5 meters or falling through the world or getting stuck in the base next to the air vents. Guardian leap is the same atm. Can't jump and leap to a target or have Enure/Endure pain speed buff going and using leap or you will miss them. Not sure who our representative is, but I hope he or she could possibly get on this. The bug has been around for nearly a year and half now with no fix in sight. Outside of war zones when i leap to enemy target I will stay in place. The leap will activate, but not do the animation. I will literally be locked in place waiting for the cd to go off while running to the target I was attempting to leap to. Novare coast (I guess this could be ok....) but when you leap to a target either below you hillside or above you hill side you miss them by another 5 meters. Upside I will totally fall short of leap target, downside I go 5 meters past them. Downside I dont think theres a fix as the leap buff does not go off until the leap has actually landed placing you where they were previously.
  13. Im still going to laugh for you making a statement and then telling someone they can't include the spec you spoke about. But I will also admit there are 9 specs per side! I forgot that Mara/sent have 3 while the others have 2. So I was off by one technically. Because I was not counting mirror specs :/ sue me. And I'm glad you stopped reading there because that shows your level of interest in answering your own question. And for the record single target damage doesn't win matches might apply ample pressure, but ultimately the class that can aoe the best applies the most pressure making it harder to rotate i.e guard and heals. Love how we went from being op now down to three options. Best single target damage utility and survivability. And for the record Vigil does not have best and still will not have best single target damage after 3.1.2 Infiltration/Decep and Vanguard I think its assault or plasma cant remember atm will still be number one and two. With Vigil maybe being tied at 3rd with sniper/gunslinger because their one spec does some crazy single target damage as well. Seems like an OP class would be best at everything. Single target dps, aoe dps, heals, utility etc..
  14. LOL I usually wuld just give up on trying to explain class balances, but this CS is to funny. How do you make a statement asking what classes have better utility, better damage, better survivability, but then knockout 4 specs? LOL I mean there's only 8 dps spcs in game and sorry you feel wronged that vigi spec managed to make it in the top 5. Again like I said any class can be beaten by any other class in this game. The way I see it as of right now the game is pretty balanced mind you I would much rather play SWTOR than ROOT wars but meh. The Vigils damage is ONLY sustainable if we are able to stay on top of the target which isn't all that often with your stealth classes, your knockbacks, your 100% resistances to the damage that Vigl/Veng does. I mean come on lol you really need to sit down and think about what you're typing out. Now survivability wise I will agree that we are able to NOW withstand a lot of damage before dying and yes we are probably the best utility holder in game. But where we are the best at someone else is better at something else. Heals, Tanks etc. Dps is only one part of this game. And you can't leave tanks out like you previously stated especially after you specifically said that Guard/Jugg TANK hits to hard for the amount of survivability they have???? Man bruh you must have not EVER played a Van/PT or Sin/Shadow lol. But anyways.. I will give you Utility and I might be able to swing survivability but when it comes to team play and damage uptime vigil/veng spec is far behind. Then what you are giving them credit for. In a 1v1 situation yes we might be able to get the better of 85% of the people we fight. But a good player knows to keep us under 10m and to stay atleast 6m away from us to not get attacked. For instance since this wasn't a banned class on your list rofl.. My friend is running OP in Lethality I think it is. He tears wholes through Vigil Guardians. And people are running round saying how nerfed Op damage is. If you don't like your current spec change it! Thats why they gave us 3 or find what your spec is good at. My buddy is running 30% crit and something like 77% surge netting 14-15k on just his opener from STEALTH might I add. Not to mention not one of his attacks ever goes below 7k until I hit a dfcd or hit him with a debuff of my own. Then he has dodge which avoids my biggest hit ability and I believe he can use it what very 20secs? Correct me if im wrong. Oh and if FD/ED is so OP then I think we need to remove every kitable obstacle in the game so some of these classes arent able to LOS or stealth up and go hide behind pillar and heal. (Not serious just saying)
  15. Here we go... Now Juggs are OP. First it's Sins/Shadows, then its Vanguard/Powertech, Then it's Sage/Sorc. I really wish you guys would just learn how to play your classes and stop moaning when you lose a 1v1 fight. Yes Guard/Jugg has some awesome utilties with some amazing dfcd, with some nice sustained dps (when we are able to stay on top of the target mind you) But so do other classes. If you say no then you are just not playing your class right. I have lost to Mercs, Maras, Sins and sometimes even sorcs on my Guardian. Comes down to who has what cds up atm, and skill. I have played Guardian since the launch of this game and the only REAL time we were ever truly OP was when we were able to do 9-10k aoe damage to targets that only had like 12k hp LOL. I STRONGLY feel there are no OP classes, just classes that are better suited to go up against another class. Like Neo and Mr. Smith everyone has an opposing opposite. Now this is not to say that you can not beat your total opposite, but it does require a lot more skill than going in and just smashing your face across the keyboard and expecting to win. You guys are seeing an influx of a certain class so because there are so many of that class you feel that they're OP. I thought like this for a long time when sorcs first got buffed. But when the sorc pop died down I realized how badly they needed their buffs. Of course 5 sages/sorcs hitting you with Turbulence is going to seem OP, but play one and fight one 1v1 and you will see where they need what they get. Now in some cases yes devs go a little overboard and give us things we dont need. Like he new ED/FD buff. Now grant you its not as bad as people making it out to be. It only hurts those classes fighting us that cant do more than 2999 damage for each tick we get of health. That and the fact that no one wants to have to make a decision whether to disengage or kite us for 15secs. You guys all want to just run up on a target and be able to take them out without thought. My toughest class to beat is sin/shadow. Fighting a skilled one takes a lot of patience and noticing buffs. Knowing when to pop your cds and when to attack them with your big hitters since they can negate them. Sorry for the rant I get to talking and can't stop LOL. So just stop with the this CLASS is OP every other patch its geting old and making me start to doubt the quality of players we have pvping.
