  1. ^ unsubbed as well. three of my friends I pvp with every day and started the game with at launch also unsubbed today. This is just one of many things. I don't pay money to be frustrated with a game or to keep playng the same stupid thing wz over and over and over again. Sure they are fixinf some stuff in 1.2 but sorry...too little too late. This is the last dollar I spend with this company. Good riddance. For what it's worth, we're all BM's and yeah it doesn't really mean anything but we're pretty sick of the stupid way they try to fix their mistakes. We pvp for the fun of it but it's really not fun anymore. S many bugs in this game. There only three wz...how hard is it to get them right?
  2. I would welcome different lvl 50 brackets with open arms. Unfortunately, SWTOR doesn't have the population for this right now and I don't know if they would spend the money to implement it any time soon. It would definitely have to be cross server to avoid ridiculous Q times.
  3. Really lazy players = the true pvp'ers that only compete in pure skill pvp and want all gear handed to them with no effort. Seriously though, I know what you mean. Played EQ for a long time, Lineage 2, Wow, Aion...getting gear in this game is EZ.
  4. Sorry dude, but there will still be a gear grind in 1.2. These people will still be complaining then as well because the recruit set will not be enough. The gear gap will still exist. Your big blue will still get roflstomped by mr. monkey rolling his head on his keyboard.
  5. Definitely a class balance issue at that point. OMG MAKE EVERYONE THE SAME FOR TRUE PVP SKILLZ
  6. The white crystal didn't look so impressive at least to me. It looks like you're waiving around a shop light. It would have been so much better if core was black but that's just my opinion.
  7. I would actually like the LOOTWHORE SKILLESS WHINER title as my reward. That way when I crush the free BM'ers they will know that getting free gear doesn't mean you auto receive skill with it. The people who were already skilled, played a lot more and did the grind will probably be more skilled than the "gimme all lootz now or you have no skill cuz i can't play that much" crowd...just a guess.
  8. Even under the current system, it does not take months. This is an exaggeration. It takes a week, maybe two if you don't play that much to get enough gear to be competitive. What people are running into are players who have gear and are also really good players because pvp is all they have been doing. Let's not just blame the gear here. 1.2 will also have a gear grind. Sure you will be able to buy a recruit set. However, there will be a pretty big gap between that and BM/WH gear. Skilled player in recruit gear will still get rolled by a skilled player in BM/WH gear. I imagine the BM gear grind will be just as long or maybe longer than the current gear grind. Then there is another grind on top of that if you follow their sequence for WH gear. I imagine this grind will take at least as long as the BM grind if not more. So you see, 1.2 changes almost nothing in terms of gear gap. It's kind of an illusion. It'll benefit the people who didn't plan during 1-49 the trouble of farming the current cent/champ gear by making starter gear more accessible but make no mistake, it will not be the same, not even close, to BM/WH gear. WOW did have a similar set. It was craftable blue gear that had resillience on it. You could easily buy it or make it yourself. People who went into BG's with this gear thinking they could be competitive got steam rolled by the "no lifers" who had the best gear. It is and will be no different here.
  9. ^ In addition, Champ gear right now takes a lengthy grind if you don't have it. Recruit set will be purchased OR you can bypass it all, remain in your greens/oranges and solo Q ranked and lose your way to the best gear. Don't know what that grind will be like but at least you only have to do it once.
  10. So if I have a fresh 50, it would still be more beneficial to work towards getting champ geared before 1.2 than to just wait and get the recruit set even though the new set will have more expertise? I'm not sure I follow... I want to know whether to wait or to gear grind on a fresh alt.
  11. you help your team win. if your team wins, you get credit for your daily and some extra comms etc... But running around killing random people away from objectives is way more important so that you can be top damage on the stat screen that lasts 12 seconds for people to look at.
  12. Well, I don't think anyone was expecting flawless. Let's rewind a little. SWTOR had major patching issues during beta/PR/launch. Many players (myself included) could not patch the game, thus could not play the game. Maybe acceptable when mmo's first hit the scene many years ago but now? Who is happy about buying a product that they can't even use? Bugs: Every game has them, SWTOR is infested. All aspects of the game have significant bugs, many of which are extremely frustrating for the end user and others that slowly grind away at you every irritating time they pop up. Many bugs have been addressed, many have not. Modern MMO's with this many bugs at launch communicate to the player base that it was not ready for launch but was launched anyway for whatever reason, be it money/timelines/share holders/market share whatever. Poor Customer Service: It was just about non-existent in the beginning. It then upgraded to atrocious. Now it is just bad. There are slight improvements here too but again, indicate that the game was released without the proper infrastructure to support it. Cheats/hacks/exploits: For the most part going unaddressed for extended periods of time, if ever, and the offending parties suffering no consenquences. This kills MMO's. Had they done their research, would have realized that good communication with the player base to at least acknowledge they are aware of it and making every effort to stop it even if they don't have an immediate solution would have been welcome. No acknowledgement as of yet with stealth patches mixed in fixing some exploits randomly. Weird game direction/lack of content (specifically PVP) and catering to the vocal minority of players that want everything very easy or handed to them kills replay value. This is obviously subjective and perfect for the casual player, not so much for the player who wants to play every day and gets bored trolling general chat in fleet at max level because there isn't anything else to do in the game. Poorly itemized gear and lackluster armor models (again at least in pvp) communicate to the player base that there really wasn't a lot of thought put into how secondary stats synergize with a certain class and that people will realize that all you did was change the color/stats of an armor set and labeled them centurion/champ/BM or tionese/columni/rakata Max level too easy to achieve and end game content too trivial. Gear is too easy to obtain and they want to make it easier. RNG for PVP gear was terrible and they went with a very odd way of trying to fix it. Anyways, these are just some of the reasons I wrote that I feel like this is a pay2beta. This could be such a great game but in this industry, if you don't capture your audience from the beginning and keep em there, the new shiny MMO that will solve all previous new MMO woes is right around the corner. Denial will not change that new mmo's are measured against wow. When wow came on the scene, they were not perfect but they were really good at what they did launch. They also only had to compete with the likes of Everquest at the time (from which I came). It's a different landscape now. If you don't have your sith together, people will bail sooner. Expectations are a lot higher now.
  13. This might fly in an industry without stiff competition... Asking a massive player base to keep paying for a year or more while things get fixed is asking a little much no? It feels like a pay2beta right now.
  14. I just got a warning on forums for being "Rude and disrespectful" to other players. I'm sure this is probably the first time something like this has happened since we are all so nice to each other on here so just a word of warning. The forum police are out.
  15. Rating is a lie? Solo queue and premade queue will be separate if Bioware wants this game to go anywhere. War Hero stat difference will probably be as small as the champ vs BM gear (read: almost none) 1. No. No one is talking about classes or balance. Bringing them up is just stupid. The only subject here is equal gear. The subject is even playing field. Class balance is relevant in that discussion. If you don't think so, read the rest of these forums. 2. Yes, even gear. That's real PvP. You obviously want Gear vs. Gear Never had an issue with even gear. If you read the thread, I am saying there will always be an uneven playing field. There will always be a gear disparity because everyone has different play times. If someone can't put in the couple war zones a day to get geared, it will be weeks before they get the new BM or WH gear. This change changes nothing. There will still be a gap. 3. How is this even relevant? Easy to roll someone playing on a lower end machine with lag even if they are equally geared. Does that mean you are more skilled? I am taking your argument one step further. You are not a "true pvper"
  16. Since you obviously lack reading comprehension ability, I will make it easier for you to understand. I never said gearing takes skill. I said it takes time. Time invested into the thing you are supposed to like doing, pvp. If you pvp all the time regardless of your gear level, you will get geared. Some people don't like the grind, some people do. Don't come in here as one of those stupid *** Ilum exploiters and expect people to acknowledge anything you say.
  17. Rating is a lie. There will be QQ about premades. There will still be a gear grind to get war hero gear, although not as steep. There will still be a stat difference. By the time it all levels out (if ever), guess what? New gear. New grind. Same QQ. The only way you "pure skillers" will get what you want is if 1. There is only 1 class in pvp with 1 spec and all must play that character. 2. Everyone gets the same gear, same crewskill bonuses, same everything before the matches begin. 3. Each team starts with the same amount of players and no one is affected by bugs. 4. Everyone is on the same spec computer with same latency. Then you have an "equal" playing field. Stop crying for something that will NEVER BE.
  18. This is stupid. You get geared doing what you like to do. You don't pvp and then not get geared. If you really liked it so much, you would have the gear unless you purposely didn't buy it. That's why this argument makes no sense to me. All the qq'ers who said the grind is too hard are the ones who gave up after getting blown up for a few games. To me that says you don't like pvp. It tells me you only like easy mode win every time pvp. If you can't get that, you run to forums and QQ about how only skilled players and true pvp'ers don't need a gear grind and that people who put the time in are not skilled and require a gear crutch. Jawa please.
  19. who knows...but you will be out 100k at least for sure per piece.
  20. I'm done "working for" anything BW throws at the pvp community. I, like many of you, "worked for" the last few months getting BM gear. This is because I enjoy PVP AND I enjoy character progression. This has nothing to do with my skill level at pvp. It has everything to do with my entertainment level with the game. Was the gear grind fun? No. I went 42 BM boxes with no comms at one point. Was it rewarding? Yes. I felt like I accomplished something on the progression side of my character. That was entertaining to me and kept me logging in. You want non progression oriented PVP, why play an MMO where grinding and gear acquisition is what it's about? Who cares about a different color of an already ugly armor set? Or another stupid speeder that doesn't go any faster? Or yet another meaningless title? If you play an MMO and not expect any kind of gear grind, you are delusional. Now BW trivializes this effort and rewards the new comers/casuals/whiney crybaby forum QQ'ers who didn't/couldn't put in the time to get the gear. Basically a big FU to their most dedicated players. Now all the "true pvp'ers" who have so much skill have a level playing field (like it wasn't level before. If you did what you were so skilled at, you would have the gear too...) Do I have a problem fighting other people with the same gear as me? Not in the least. Do I have a problem with people getting the same gear in one day when it took me 3 months? Damn right I do. So like I said in a different post, I will have my fresh 50's bypass all the blue recruit gear, the wz comm BM gear and I will solo Q in ranked wz and lose my way to top tier gear. Once I have it, then I will start playing for rank if I still have time left on my sub and 1.2 redeems this game enough to keep playing.
  21. BM Surivivor with Stalker mods/enhancement on main pieces and stalker in the rest. I go for the 4 set survivor bonus since I usually have guard running and it nullifies the damage hit we take for being in dark charge. I use rakata resolve stim/power adrenal and surge/crit relic since the power adrenal gives so much power. I use matrix cube in other relic slot. Oh and I run BM focus not shield. I've used both and don't really feel like shield does anything for me. I don't feel squishier than when running in full tank gear/stim (minus the 4-5k hp) but I kill a lot faster so maybe I don't need to have so much defense. I can kill 1v1 very fast and 2v1 is usally not much of a problem either. Doesn't matter if I wear tank or dps gear, if I get focused without heals and support, I will go down just like any other class except maybe merc/trooper healers. Been using this set up for a long time before we became the OMG NURF DEMZ class. People used to laugh at our class...
  22. Yup. I have a fresh 50 alt I just leveled. I plan to not do any pvp on it until 1.2 comes out. At that point, I will solo q ranked wz and lose my way to top tier gear while pissing everyone else off. I will do this because it took me a long time to get my BM on my main and BW basically said FU. That's fine. I will use their new system and gear up on my alt with no effort. I will not waste credits on blue gear. I will not waste time in regular wz going for BM gear that took my main several months to get. I will go right for the top tier because I can. I will do this for all future characters until my sub runs out. So dumb for paying for 3 months.
