  1. ^ unsubbed as well. three of my friends I pvp with every day and started the game with at launch also unsubbed today. This is just one of many things. I don't pay money to be frustrated with a game or to keep playng the same stupid thing wz over and over and over again. Sure they are fixinf some stuff in 1.2 but sorry...too little too late. This is the last dollar I spend with this company. Good riddance. For what it's worth, we're all BM's and yeah it doesn't really mean anything but we're pretty sick of the stupid way they try to fix their mistakes. We pvp for the fun of it but it's really not fun anymore. S many bugs in this game. There only three wz...how hard is it to get them right?
  2. I would welcome different lvl 50 brackets with open arms. Unfortunately, SWTOR doesn't have the population for this right now and I don't know if they would spend the money to implement it any time soon. It would definitely have to be cross server to avoid ridiculous Q times.
  3. Really lazy players = the true pvp'ers that only compete in pure skill pvp and want all gear handed to them with no effort. Seriously though, I know what you mean. Played EQ for a long time, Lineage 2, Wow, Aion...getting gear in this game is EZ.
  4. Sorry dude, but there will still be a gear grind in 1.2. These people will still be complaining then as well because the recruit set will not be enough. The gear gap will still exist. Your big blue will still get roflstomped by mr. monkey rolling his head on his keyboard.
  5. Definitely a class balance issue at that point. OMG MAKE EVERYONE THE SAME FOR TRUE PVP SKILLZ
  6. The white crystal didn't look so impressive at least to me. It looks like you're waiving around a shop light. It would have been so much better if core was black but that's just my opinion.
  7. I would actually like the LOOTWHORE SKILLESS WHINER title as my reward. That way when I crush the free BM'ers they will know that getting free gear doesn't mean you auto receive skill with it. The people who were already skilled, played a lot more and did the grind will probably be more skilled than the "gimme all lootz now or you have no skill cuz i can't play that much" crowd...just a guess.
  8. Even under the current system, it does not take months. This is an exaggeration. It takes a week, maybe two if you don't play that much to get enough gear to be competitive. What people are running into are players who have gear and are also really good players because pvp is all they have been doing. Let's not just blame the gear here. 1.2 will also have a gear grind. Sure you will be able to buy a recruit set. However, there will be a pretty big gap between that and BM/WH gear. Skilled player in recruit gear will still get rolled by a skilled player in BM/WH gear. I imagine the BM gear grind will be just as long or maybe longer than the current gear grind. Then there is another grind on top of that if you follow their sequence for WH gear. I imagine this grind will take at least as long as the BM grind if not more. So you see, 1.2 changes almost nothing in terms of gear gap. It's kind of an illusion. It'll benefit the people who didn't plan during 1-49 the trouble of farming the current cent/champ gear by making starter gear more accessible but make no mistake, it will not be the same, not even close, to BM/WH gear. WOW did have a similar set. It was craftable blue gear that had resillience on it. You could easily buy it or make it yourself. People who went into BG's with this gear thinking they could be competitive got steam rolled by the "no lifers" who had the best gear. It is and will be no different here.
  9. ^ In addition, Champ gear right now takes a lengthy grind if you don't have it. Recruit set will be purchased OR you can bypass it all, remain in your greens/oranges and solo Q ranked and lose your way to the best gear. Don't know what that grind will be like but at least you only have to do it once.
  10. So if I have a fresh 50, it would still be more beneficial to work towards getting champ geared before 1.2 than to just wait and get the recruit set even though the new set will have more expertise? I'm not sure I follow... I want to know whether to wait or to gear grind on a fresh alt.
  11. you help your team win. if your team wins, you get credit for your daily and some extra comms etc... But running around killing random people away from objectives is way more important so that you can be top damage on the stat screen that lasts 12 seconds for people to look at.
  12. Well, I don't think anyone was expecting flawless. Let's rewind a little. SWTOR had major patching issues during beta/PR/launch. Many players (myself included) could not patch the game, thus could not play the game. Maybe acceptable when mmo's first hit the scene many years ago but now? Who is happy about buying a product that they can't even use? Bugs: Every game has them, SWTOR is infested. All aspects of the game have significant bugs, many of which are extremely frustrating for the end user and others that slowly grind away at you every irritating time they pop up. Many bugs have been addressed, many have not. Modern MMO's with this many bugs at launch communicate to the player base that it was not ready for launch but was launched anyway for whatever reason, be it money/timelines/share holders/market share whatever. Poor Customer Service: It was just about non-existent in the beginning. It then upgraded to atrocious. Now it is just bad. There are slight improvements here too but again, indicate that the game was released without the proper infrastructure to support it. Cheats/hacks/exploits: For the most part going unaddressed for extended periods of time, if ever, and the offending parties suffering no consenquences. This kills MMO's. Had they done their research, would have realized that good communication with the player base to at least acknowledge they are aware of it and making every effort to stop it even if they don't have an immediate solution would have been welcome. No acknowledgement as of yet with stealth patches mixed in fixing some exploits randomly. Weird game direction/lack of content (specifically PVP) and catering to the vocal minority of players that want everything very easy or handed to them kills replay value. This is obviously subjective and perfect for the casual player, not so much for the player who wants to play every day and gets bored trolling general chat in fleet at max level because there isn't anything else to do in the game. Poorly itemized gear and lackluster armor models (again at least in pvp) communicate to the player base that there really wasn't a lot of thought put into how secondary stats synergize with a certain class and that people will realize that all you did was change the color/stats of an armor set and labeled them centurion/champ/BM or tionese/columni/rakata Max level too easy to achieve and end game content too trivial. Gear is too easy to obtain and they want to make it easier. RNG for PVP gear was terrible and they went with a very odd way of trying to fix it. Anyways, these are just some of the reasons I wrote that I feel like this is a pay2beta. This could be such a great game but in this industry, if you don't capture your audience from the beginning and keep em there, the new shiny MMO that will solve all previous new MMO woes is right around the corner. Denial will not change that new mmo's are measured against wow. When wow came on the scene, they were not perfect but they were really good at what they did launch. They also only had to compete with the likes of Everquest at the time (from which I came). It's a different landscape now. If you don't have your sith together, people will bail sooner. Expectations are a lot higher now.
  13. This might fly in an industry without stiff competition... Asking a massive player base to keep paying for a year or more while things get fixed is asking a little much no? It feels like a pay2beta right now.
  14. I just got a warning on forums for being "Rude and disrespectful" to other players. I'm sure this is probably the first time something like this has happened since we are all so nice to each other on here so just a word of warning. The forum police are out.
