  1. I like how classes are now as well, I'm just saying that the TTK is way too long and that's one of the main issues with class balance. Some classes have pretty darn good burst while others are just mediocre, whereas in 2.10, all burst specs were pretty much equally deadly. TTK is so high atm, that against a healer, dot specs are basically irrelevant.
  2. Couldn't you still break the hindering effect of it? I don't want to change any current abilities (except for mercenary's busted utilities), I just want the TTK to be lowered so that skill comes back.
  3. Does anyone remember when pretty much all burst specs could 100-0 you in under 10 seconds? Anyone remember when a Carnage Mara could wipe you in 3 GCDs if you didn't react quickly? When a Concealment Operative could have you back in the spawn in like 4 globals if you just stood there and took it like an idiot? 2.10 was about as balanced as we've seen this game. Healers were useful, but not overpowered. Tank stats were good. Burst specs could.. well, burst. Dot specs were also strong (madness sins/sorcs were really the only OP thing). Now, even a 1v1 can last longer than 5 minutes. It can take ~4 or more decent DPS to down a guarded healer and a tank. Some specs have garbage damage output, but ridiculous survivability (looking at you, concealment). In PVP, if you **** up, you should die. Currently, you'll die if you **** up like 10 times or so. I miss this time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuEeVgQVw4s This was a better time for PVP. I really think the game would benefit from lowering HP pools, increasing damage, buffing tank stats, buffing burst, and reducing healers' effectiveness (although just lowering HP pools would fix a lot of this). Obviously, fixing gearing and mercs is the primary issue right this second, but down the line, I'd like to see the game return to the glorious late 2.0 era in terms of the overall feel of PVP. It's been "parsing simulator" for like 2 years now. Edit: I am not asking to literally roll back time and play things as they were in 2.10, I'm asking for a 2.10-styled 5.0.
  4. mercs were fine in 4.0, fam IO could've used some slight defense CD boosts but arsenal was A-ok in good hands
  5. Yeah, if snipers were able to heal 2 full, they'd be stronger than mercs.
  6. founder here. been subbed since launch, basically. only unsubbed for a few short periods when money was tight, or when I was out to play ESO (at ESO's launch for like 2 months, pretty much). last time I tallied up my /played time, it was ~5,000 hours, and that was like 2 years ago, so.. unsubbed now. I have all the unlocks I need, will only miss my credits. I basically only log in to RP and chat with friends now, PVP is becoming more and more disappointing with retarded balance and the lack of matchmaking.
  7. anni's DPS output is mostly irrelevant if there's 1-2 healers involved. that goes for all dotspecs, and don't even try to fight a merc as anni, impossible to avoid their shield healing since you have like 4 dots
  8. operatives are still the best 1v1 class (in concealment anyway). some specs can be a hard fight, but you should be able to win assuming skill is equal, sounds like someone was getting carried by the broken bug
  9. They'd still need to do content in order to get the boxes to get the gear, with it being legacy wide, it'd just mean your progress would be for all characters.. like how you could do in PVP in 4.x and for a while prior with legacy gear.
  10. That would definitely be a step in the right direction, although personally, they could fix ALL of the issues with 5.0-5.1 gearing if they changed galactic command in a few fairly simple ways. I think if they made command crates a 2-part thing, it'd be a lot better. The first part would just be the usual random trash you get, and then the second part would open up a second interface that would essentially be a character equipment sheet. You click on the piece of gear you want, and then it would roll the RNG to determine what rarity level of that gear you got, but you would ALWAYS get that specific piece of gear. They could keep their RNG nonsense, but at least you'd for sure be getting the exact piece of gear that you want every time. Also, if they made command rank legacy-wide.
  11. yeah, it's mostly big zergs of like 400+ people on the screen when things get crazy, but you can find small group fights every once in a while. there's no "warzone" instances unfortunately, though, at least not yet the PVE is also MUCH more entertaining and challenging
  12. with the god awful class balance and ridiculous grind, I've lost the motivation to do much more in this game. I only really log in to do dank ERP, play 1-2 reg wzs before being disappointed, and then log out to go play ESO.
  13. Reading Comprehension: 1 Idiots: 0
  14. Operative healing always just feels like I'm trying to farm numbers rather than actually save people. IMO, the spec should be reworked somewhat to let it keep that signature "Hot-y" feel, but.. make it feel like it has more of an oomph rather than "Target switching and refreshing probes simulator".
  15. I think bodyguard (WITH their broken utilities in 5.0. without, they need some healing output buffs) and medicine are good, but sorc heals still are just kinda OP.. IMO, TTK needs to go back down to 2.10 levels. IE, you **** up, you die in under ~6 seconds to some classes. It can take around 3+ minutes for some classes to kill each other in a 1v1, which is just ridiculous to me.
  16. To the people that think this obvious bug is working as intended: https://torcommunity.com/datamining/5.0.1a-5.1/AdvancedClasses/ChangedOperative.xml
  17. The damage output is irrelevant, IMO. If they had 4.0 survivability (with the reflect from 5.0 I guess), mercs would be completely fine. It's about balancing survivability and damage. The healing energy shield and the 70% KO (this should be given to PTs) needs to go, though.
  18. *Virulence. Lethality doesn't have the weak dots for some *********** reason.
  19. You don't need to LoS or use proper positioning as a mercenary in 5.0. Hell, your new utilities encourage you to be in the action and to facetank people.
  20. My point was that the abilities function almost exactly the same as Juggernaut's big DCDs. "Just ignore them" doesn't work against ranged burst classes.
  21. That must be a very mediocre merc against some great marauders, then.
  22. There is no "learning" with mercs. We've already been down this road, their DCDs function very similarly to juggs. The difference with mercs is that they're ranged, and if played properly, they can use the "problem ability" every 30-45 seconds, which is obviously ridiculous.
  23. I think the first portion of the poll should've had multiple options maybe.. I'm a PVPer and a roleplayer, but have no interest in PVE, for instance.
  24. It's bugged. Anyone who says otherwise cannot read.
