Typical experience for an operative at a node. 1) 2 people come to tag, only one is tagging, the other is waiting. 2) Sleep dart on the active one, look at the other running everywhere and trying to find a stealther , chance that will work ? 0.01 % . 3) Sleep dart ends (8 seconds lost for tagging), second try to tag, but re sap . Look at the other running and aoe like a frenetic hornet. 4) Sleep dart ends for the second time, now, this player is white barred and cannot be cc anymore (but already , 16 seconds lost for tagging)...so what does he do? Of course, he starts running and aoeing to find this pesky stealther (surely a hive spirit due to his hornet friend)... Now it is the time for the other one to try to tag (sometimes, he won't). Go back to 1) and wait for a post on this forum.
  2. Just no and why should it be ? This game is more like rock-paper-scissors , some classes/spec are good in a situation or against another classes/spec but bad in others. Put a concealment op in arena and it is garbage, put it in the fight of the central node, not good also. But yes, it shines when attacking or defending the side nodes. And why does it shine so well when attacking/defending the off nodes? Because lot of people don't know how to handle them and because they don't need to kill , they can just sap/mezz cap or delay almost indefinitely a cap in a 1 vs 1 situation (even more if people don't know how to counter them).
  3. It is the same problem when you have someone playing a dot spec and you try to mezz or the same problem when you dot a jugg and he uses ED. Dot specs prevent you to do several things, you have to deal with it and you have to adapt your strategy (or respec).
  4. When there is 2 healers in a team, you barely need to use your dcd. With the hp pool, healers have a lot of time to do their jobs (as well the tank to switch guard or a dps to guard if there is no tank). The ttk is sometimes so long that objectives cannot be tagged...you kill 1 healer, start dpsing the other one, the first one has already come back (even with a full time repop timer... ).
  5. Since the beginning of the game, some specs perform better than others depending of the target...what a news. Hello, this is rock, nerf paper, scissor is fine.
  6. I have more issues with sorcerer/sage heal then with merc/mandos. Of course, the first week, wz were full of mercs and mando but their numbers already drop, 2 maybe 3 by wz. I often see 3-4 sorc/sage (most of them heal). And you know what? With 3 heals, you don't even need to use a dcd to survive. In addition, dps can guard for free and once again, with 3 heals, the risk is minimal even if focus. Nobody complain about the ttk and the hps of this "patch", sheep continue to bleat at merc/mando...

  9. So you don't play since the beginning. It was the same thing with op heal at 3.0 and prior (and with concealment at 1.0), same thing with smash spec, same thing with sorcerer heal after 4.0, ... With 5.0, some classes/spec had new skills and we are all still learning them (and it's harder now because we are all focusing on one character due to cxp) but I already saw people dealing very well with merc and mandos, ccing them, los them, switching of target when a merc/mando pops his dcd. And guest what, when done correctly, merc and mandos are still dying quickly. Of course, if you do the same old things like in 4.x , yeah, they have 4 health bars. It's easy to complain about merc/mandos but it's only the tree hiding the forest because there are lots of broken things in 5.0 but sheep have stated that they will bleat at merc/mandos...
  10. It's like the 4.0, light increase of our dps (10-15% with 4.0) but ours targets got +50% hp. With 5.0 , it's even worse because hp nearly grows up by 100%. And our main dcd is still the roll and when we roll, we do not dps. Of course , we are hard to kill and we can troll (when played correctly) for a long time but when dps is needed...
  11. Just exiting from a voidstar. I played the objective in the first round (defender) and no one cap. At the start of round 2, a deathmatcher said I was in a f*cking guild and a f*cking player because I played the objective so I did nothing in round 2 except watching him die again and again. I hope he had a good wz, he only died 14 times.
  12. Ok so wz commendations will become credits... which rate? When I farm to make credits, I easily do 1 million per hour. On all my toons, I think I collected around 300k wz commendations. How many times did that took? Let's say I get 110 wz commendations / bg (with a win/loss ratio of 50% and the dailies/weeklies) so near 2730 wz to get 300k wz commendations. Wz duration, 8 minutes on average (quicker for arena but some wz last longer) , nearly 364 h . At 1 million per hour, 364 millions credits. Ok Bioware?
  13. Thank you, I learned something. I didn't even tried to sent a companion who left me in mission because it was quite logical to me if he/she left me, he/she is no longer available to help me.
  14. Did you paid attention at the story? In kotfe, you can lose your companions if they don't like your choices. For Scorpio , if you finished the last available chapter , I'am sure you noticed she is no longer at your side but she is with Vaylin , so say goodbye to Scorpio for a long time. For Senya , she saves Arcann and she run away with him (whether you choose to shot her or not), once again, say byebye to her for a time.
  15. You assume there will be a piece of gear in every crate and for now, Eric did not said that. All we know : - at each lvl of galactic command, we will receive a crate. - the crate will contain stuff, goodies, ... but everything in each crate? Or will it be a chance to have a piece of gear, a chance to have a goodies ? No confirmation at this time (or I miss it). - the stuff inside a crate is link to your advance class not to your discipline. - the stuff lvl inside a crate is link to your lvl in galactic command. - you can destroy a piece of gear to gain galactic command xp. For now, saying : it's not as bad as the battlemaster system is just an assumption.
  16. Don't you think they like it? I mean seriously, who complained about the actual gear system? Why do they need to constantly rethink the wheel? Don't they have other majors issues with the game? Such as very very few new content, class balance, very old bugs, ... So , why changing a complete predictable gear system to a random one? Worse, they already tried random gear system and they received bad feedback at this time and they decided to move to the token/crystal/commendation system. Why going back ? The future random system will be less random than the old one? Come on...Who can think this new system will be cool? For me, it's a confession of the lack of content of the 5.0. They will try to recycle old content for the X times (already done with 4.0 and the old H2, already done with the d&l "event", ...).
  17. Hello, I remember that the ability thrown gauntlet (tier 3 juggernaut discipline) also reduce the force cost of chilling scream by 2 so jugg were able to spam chilling scream. When was it changed? I don't find the modification in patch notes.
  18. For me,the ideal burst is when several abilities do damage in the same second. If you can do 50k damage in 1 second you are more "bursty" than doing 70k in 3 seconds. So the best burst class (once again for me) is the advance prototype specialist because this class has everything needed to do very high damage in the shortest time (delayed damage, dot, instant damage ability, ability with fly time and ability out of gcd). You can have a tick of dot, the explosion of thermal detonator, cell burst, rail shot and 1 charge of shoulder canon in the same second. This class will not be the class with the highest damage output after 10 seconds but I don't consider damage done during 10 seconds as a burst.
  19. I think people are not talking about the same thing. For me , a burst is the maximum damage that can be done in 2 seconds or less. To do this, you need to have : - dot. - delayed damage skill (volatile substance, explosive dart, thermal detonator, ...) - a skill with a fly time (tracing missile, heatseeker missile, energy burst, thunderblast, ...) - an instant damage skill (railshot, all cac abalities, instant cast like lightning flash, ...) - an off gcd skill (shoulder canon) And the objective is to do all these damages when the delayed damage skill explode. So , there are not lot of classes who combine all these abilities : ap powertech is the only class with everything. Arsenal mercenary has nearly everything as well as lightning sorcerer. Concealment op has also nearly all the tools and engineering sniper too. Doing high dps in 5 or 6 gcd is not a burst, it's just a high dps cycle. A burst is a very high spike in a very short time (even if it takes sereval gcd of preparation).
  20. 1) Totally agree , I was never able to run 100m in less than 1 sec , to plant a bomb from the other side of the door and to be out of range of acid in arena, my bad. 3) I know that but I'm sure you know there are differents strategies that work not only one. The strategy can change depending of the actions of the other team. In addition, people who give order are rarely the ones who have the boring job, they send you to defend while they fight at mid (regardless of your class). And even if you do want they want, if the team loose, it wasn't their fault, they were just playing with a bad team (obviously, it wasn't their strategy). Also, I don't think it is very smart to insult people if you want them to cooperate. 4) When you play wz after wz against 2 sages heals, 1 vanguard tank , 3 guardians dps and 2 watchmen, it becomes really quickly boring. I know it will be rare to not see at least 1 of these class but never see a commando, a scoundrel , gunslinger or shadow in more than 5 wz in a row is quiet strange. 5) Don't like the map. Imo, the map design fit perfectly for a fps not a mmo. If I can choose to not queue for it, I'll do it. I don't have the choice. And for what i see during the 10 seconds I stay in it, I'm not the only one who leave directly this wz (but I agree, this is not an excuse).
  21. Why do I leave? 1) Because there is a cheater inside the war zone (in our team or in the opposite one). I don't see the point to play with or against this kind of player. 2) Because there is a premade who is not playing the war zone but they are there just to farm (once again, I leave even if I am with them). I don't hate premade, I just don't like the attitude of certains groups who stop to play the objectives just to farm (by example , they score 5 goals in huttball in 2 minutes and they never score the last one). 3) Because there is/are people who want me to play the war zone like they want to and if I don't, I'm just getting insulted. 4) Because I'm facing the same composition again and again and again (full of sage/sorcerer , gardian/jugg, watchmen/marauder, vanguard/powertech), worse if you encounter the same people for 4-5 war zones in a row. 5) Because it's Odessen war zone.
  22. It may depend of the situation. By example, I was playing an AHG, a sage tag the pylon and defend it. He move away to place his phasehift but he uses his bubble instead. Thank you for the pylon You can also force a sage/sorcerer to use his bubble to prevent a tag , vanish and come back later during his cd (same thing for a powertech) or the next round in an AHG. You have to keep in mind the cd of the defender.
  23. Before the patch that introduce the cost reduction on pvp set, Bioware said that only 2% of the game population had the tier 2 pvp set.
