  1. What do Wow and Rift have in common seeing as some one else mentioned the names.... They both have extremely low new PvP player uptake. Getting people to enter PvP in those games and stick with it long enough to be on par gear wise (Or close enough to be competitive) simply doesn't happen, at a rate that replaces outgoing players.

Both of those games have PvP communities that loose members faster then they replace them with new Ex PvE Playing converts. The PvP stats make it VERY VERY hard to introduce new players to the fantastic world of PvP that we all get. I think most of us will grind on alts when we have too ect... because we are already hooked. There was a time when every one of us was not a PVP player... admit it none of us came to PvP first.

The bracketing that PvP stats creates drives away growth. It will become a problem for TOR in the future as well.

In WoW it is not hard to farm a full set of the latest season PVP gear, you dont even have to be that good. Just team up with someone in arena for 2 vs 2 for the points, arena queues are pretty quick so you can farm a set in a couple of days. It puts your team against others with around the same rank.

  2. CC -- crowd control -- these are abilities (that BREAK WITH DAMAGE) that take a mob/player out of the fight. Do not hit the CC target unless told to/it's woken by the tank.

There is more to CC than you think mate. Too many people generalize a CC ability to what you have just said. Anything that affects an enemies movement or abilities to improving the players gameplay is a crowd controlling ability.

  3. I play a Jedi Guardian, and a Mercinary Bounty Hunter. The responsivness seems to be similar, all defensive cooldowns dont seem to work AT ALL unless i change to a different target. Instant abilities that proc sometimes dont work, also taunt can be a struggle. The animation starts then stops, looks like he is dancing then it finally goes off after 100 press's of the button.
  4. On the swiftsure, i have a toon on both sides. On the empire toon i tend to get a bit of a queue and mostly get huttball empire vs empire, but whenever we play the republic we always win.

On my republic toon when i queue it is instant entry to the warzone, i have never got same faction huttball. And republic mostly loses on this server because republic players seem to think warzones are deathmatch and there are no objectives.

Implement arena so these players who just want to do mindless killing the opponent can do so.

  5. No effect on game play? What spamming a break free ability 5 times, and it breaks the stun with 0.1 or something like that left in the stun we completely waste the ability.

Explain the first video again, using instant abilities NOT PART OF THE GCD. I know he was spamming the ones on the GCD but thats normal and no complaints about that, i'm talking about when he wanted to use a defensive cooldown or something like that. And when he ws running around not fighting he wanted to force leap someone and that took a few presses of the button.

You could say it is a bug with the GCD and instant abilities, or you could say it is a delay because technically the ability is delaying you from using it.

  6. What about INSTANT abilities that you have to press the button 4-5 times for them to work? As i understant, things like defensive cooldowns, interrupts, some proc abilities and relics ALL should not be a part of the GCD and for some reason they do not work 100%.

The animation starts everytime you press it, as an example i used an AOE taunt in PVP, my toon started the animation then stopped and did it 5 times, looked like my toon kept raising his arms in the air and stuttering then finally it worked and he completed the animation and the taunt went off. While doing this there was not other ability of any sort using the GCD, therefore i can say the issue is not with the gcd and ability queue.

Seems some people dont seem to understand what the complaints are about.

Just watch his ability bar, and how many times he presses some things which are meant to be instant and while the GCD is not on. Also his break free ability from stuns and CC's tends not to work as we would expect, takes 4-5 presses.

And on this one at 0:13, he uses riposte which procs, he presses it about 5 times and the toon stutters shaking his arm then finally goes through with the animation.

  7. The OP doesn't state this is a PvP issue. The videos posted by the OP are not just PvP videos. They clearly show some people have an issue even in PvE that I clearly do not have.

Why is it so hard for you to accept that some people do not have the problem? I am not saying the problem doesn't exist. Only that it does not appear to affect me. Don't you think that is valuable information for BioWare as well? It doesn't diminish the severity of the problem, but it might help the devs identify it.

I mean it is more noticable in PVP than it is in PVE, alot more.

  8. We need dual spec. It will help people make groups since most people play DPS, they can just quickly switch to healing spec to heal a flashpoint because making groups takes so long now with the lack of healers.

If i learn how to bowl, then learn how to hit a baseball... if i want to bowl after this do i have to learn it again?

  9. Yeah, sorry. I don't PvP. Not even going there.

But as for abilities like Force Leap and following with Force Sweep or Master Strike...I do it all the time. And I don't spam them.

Exactly the reason you do not notice this, in PVP you want to utilize abilities as soon as they are ready and want them to work. You are just doing solo PVE where it is basically half assed take your time and ability delay is less noticable.

  10. Okay. I'm a level 45 Jedi Guardian. Tell me what abilities to use that you believe will conclusively show whether the issue is happening. I'll happily try it out.

But stow the mocking tone, will you? I can only relate my observations. That mine are different from yours is no reason for condescension.

i have a jedi guardian too, and i cant cast a few abilities without pressing them 10 times. the animation starts then my toon stops.

in your video, go into PVP run around and i would like to see you use defensive cooldowns with 1 press, also force sweep, riposte, relics all with 1 press of the button and not like this video. actually use force leap, then straight away use force sweep.

    riposte at 0.12
