  1. GW2 is all Hype till it's out and people are sitting at end game in less then a week. Aion is still an incomplete game even for PvE. Warhammer was great for PvP, your right. But there was zero immersion and zero fun in the fact that there was nothing to do but PvP. You can't make PvP spontaneous if its never ending, or if there are no other real objectives in the game world. And World of Warcraft has been taking the PvP out of open World slowly over the years with each patch. First they added BGs and Arenas to take most of the PvPers into instanced PvP warzones that have no effect on the game world. Then they added in Dishonorable points for a wile (Should have taken that as a sign as what direction Blizz was going and quit then.) Then they added Flying mounts, summoning stones, and the first Sanctuary city. This made the random encounter with the opposing faction even more rare in open world. Then finally came the killing blow. Instance teleporting and BG Q'ing from any location including Sanctuary cities, making World PvP done forever save for players doing dailies and lowbies trying to level. Once they moved the dailies all over the world instead of a tight location where both sides had to quest in the same space... well that was the straw that broke the mammoth mounts back. You could fly over Northrend for a half hour and maybe find 3 people your level to jump that are outside a Sanctuary. Star Wars is taking the same approach. Making quest givers, bosses, and some objectives in mini-instances. I've also noticed several planets that flag you for PvP but the opposing faction are not even present on that world. And many planets where both factions are there, there is very limited locations that quests take both sides to the same place for any extended amount of time. To make things worse, Star Wars boasts massive environments. This is not a good thing as far as World PvP goes. The company needs to design maps that force the players into the same locations so they don't get the feeling the world is so sparsely populated. If players do not want to fight the opposing faction, thats why there is PvE servers. For the brave players that want the extra excitement of never knowing when we might be attacked or the chance to ambush other players, we would like more options and opportunities. Until then, I'm keeping my subscription canceled.
  2. I gave up on World PvP. There are no games out now anymore that have good World PvP thats mixed with questing and immersion. The companies all want to cater to the casual gamer. The gamers that don't like to get ganked and are not good sports about it. The gamers that feed on content and gear updates in a PvE environment. The gamers that need all their quest bosses in small instanced locations so their quests cannot be interrupted. The gamers that don't have the time or patients for LONG term raid progression that is challenging. As long as the game companies keep making games that cater to the casuals that want instant gratification, they will always just be shooting themselves in the foot.
  3. I came for the World PvP. Umm yah. I also canceled my subscription for the lack of it.
  4. Someone lock this thread please. Or just delete it. I just can't believe the OP. I just can't believe it. The Story in this game is fine, leave it how it is. Good God I won't even argue with the OP on this, just get them out of here.
  5. Naa If your on your ship, in the hanger, or on the fleet station I'm sure you can access your ship tab in your character window. Just look down to the bottom.
  6. Q is the reason the Klingons and the Imperial fleet are fighting in the first place. 0.o
  7. Never thought of that. They (Could) mean something else when they say "Blaster". And although Star Trek ships can run circles around a Star Wars ship at sub-light. I forgot to mention that it would take a Star Trek ship YEARS and YEARS to cross the galaxy. It only takes days at most to travel that far in Star Wars. SO even if the Imp fleet would get its *** handed to it, the Klingon fleet would never be able to catch them at Warp. The Imp fleet could just Hyper to a new location and wait for 70 years.
  8. The navigational deflector array of any Star Trek warp capable ship can deflect most lasers. This is without even activating the ships shields. If they were fighting Starfleet ships, the fighters would be flying at phaser type 12 strips and superior computer targeting tactical systems. Any Starfleet ship can take out a squadron of fighters and bombers in one second flat. However, we are talking about the Klingon fleet. They are more geared for hard hits and not as much into accuracy. Klingon Disruptors can dish out TONS of damage in a shot, but they are not as useful after smaller targets like fast moving fighters. The fighters would lack the fire power needed to even dent the Klingon shields and so would most of the Star Destroyers arsenal. Also the Imp fleet would have a VERY hard time targeting a Klingon ship at full impulse speed maneuvering wile they attack, cloak, and attack. The only (Somewhat) threat to the Klingon fleet would be the bombers and whatever payload they would have. For Capital ship to Capital ship however, the Klingon force have a massive advantage. The Vor'cha-class Attack cruisers are heavily armed, sporting 18 disruptor cannons as well as three photon torpedo launchers. In addition, the forward section of the cruiser is equipped with a particularly powerful disruptor beam for orbital bombardments. This ship isn't even the biggest of the Klingon fleet and I'd say it would be more then a match even for a Super Star Destroyer. Star Wars is more Fantasy driven story. Trek is where the Tech is.
  9. I'm posting this here because I care. There is not enough World PvP. Many planets that flag you for PvP but then later I find out that there are no players of the opposing faction on that world. This leaves me asking whats the point of being flagged on that world at all. There should be more ganking, more reasons for players to be out in the world on all the planets at end game. Most endgame stuff to do is Instanced. War Zones, Flashpoints, Operations. Having no flying mounts is a plus, but theres no one traveling the world to attack spontaneously. I am not getting the feeling I used to get when leveling in STV. Always looking over my shoulder. There is almost no thrill to joining a PvP server in SWTOR save for the occasional rare encounter. I think I can count how many times I got jumped by another player on one hand before I hit 50. Now, at 50.. Theres no where to go but one planet and War Zones to fight people my level. This forces me to go to places where there are lowbies to gank and hope they call level 50 guildys. When WoW made these problems worse and worse over the years with one patch and expansion after another that slowly snuffed out World PvP I stuck with it and complained. Blizz never did anything to make World PvP better save for making an island (Still separated from the rest of the world). Much like Illum. I have learned my lesson and this time around I will not be sticking around and waiting it out. Soon I may be canceling my subscription to spend time playing Skyrim or something until the day someone makes a real Quest based world with spontaneous PvP. Without it, I might as well be playing LOTRO or a single player game. The problem with making a game thats so close to what WoW, is that people have been getting tired of WoW. Of coarse this is only speculation judging from their massive loss of subscriptions in 2011. World PvP and Sandbox wile keeping the questing and story. That would be great.
  10. Well, if it's showing me local time and not server time.. I think Bioware needs to make an INGAME time clock. That would make it SO much more easy to have people meet up when they need to. Just say 8 o clock server time. And its all good.
  11. Is there an in game time? The clock in my game is the same as my time zone. Is it just showing the time off my computer, or is the server time the same as my time? Can I use that clock in game to tell raids when to meet according to that clock and they will all show up at the same time? Or will they show up at different times cuz its only showing their time? And I swear, if this topic gets deleted.. someone really has it out for me.
  12. I'm not attracted to men, but if I were, I'd not be attracted to Khem Val. So being able to romance them all.. Might not be cool. Lawl
  13. Sounds like end game PvP for WoW. I think these complaints could be fixed if we had some craftable PvP gear. Not as good as the stuff you loot or earn, but at least something to get you into the game a little.

    Ganking/Resolve

Dude... I looked into Darkfall. That looks like a really hard core game. Like the old days man! I'm gonna try that 14 day trial. That game looks really challenging! You just don't see that these days anymore.

    Ganking/Resolve

^ This. Plus the tears of PvEers and carebears.

    Ganking/Resolve

World PvP is the only real PvP in my opinion. But yah. Its hard to find people.

    Ganking/Resolve

When I gank, I use Mind Trap on a targets companion to gain an advantage before attacking. This is a no brainer move. However, the targets resolve bar fills the second I do this and I can no longer use any kind of CC on them. Is this working as intended? Disable companion = Immune to CC ?
  18. I don't want to spoil anything, but catching the ghosts is only the beginning of your dealing with them. Theres more to come.
  19. This is the best post thats ever happened to me. I have been killing level 46 to 48 players on Voss at level 44 with this spec! My sniper buddy LOVEs me now in WZs. In PvE I take Drellik and after almost every fight I have full health. Almost no need to have Seeth on the bar. I used to have to us it after every fight, Now I can take out a gold elite and have full health at the end of the fight.
  20. Ganking people is fun and I support it. But thats all I have to add to this otherwise pointless topic. In fact.. Without realm forums, all of these topics are pointless. People in your community will never see it.
  21. Just have a friend come along and help you. Problem solved. Unless you ... Don't have friends.
  22. Can't wait for GTA V. Star Wars is missing some Black influence though. It's got Lando, and only part of Vader was black. (The coolest part) It just dose not seem fair to have the black NPC community all talk the way they do. lol To me anyway.
