  1. Eh. I can see both sides of this. I agree that the actors should get a better contract, since their contract was made in '94, and times have changed significantly since then. Nobody expected the gaming industry to become the behemoth that it has, especially not so quickly. However, I disagree with giving the Voice Actors residuals. Sure, some games are marketed based upon the quality of the voice acting, and some are even marketed based upon a specific voice actor, but the amount of work that they actually put into a game is pretty small. Until animators, coders, devs, and others who are actually involved with designing and building the game receive residuals, then I don't really think that the VA's have a leg to stand on. Of course, there's no union arguing on behalf of the devs, so they're likely to continue slaving away with little to no recognition outside of their office, and will continue to see no benefits from the product of their work being wildly successful.
  2. Do progression teams still exist? I thought most of them quit after they got HM TOS and Ravagers on farm. It's been almost 2 years since the last raid was released, and despite the fact that players were promised there would not be another ops drought like between DF/DP and TOS/RAV, it's looking like this one will be at least twice as long before the next one is even announced, let alone released. No. BioWare made it clear that progression raiding is not a playstyle that they care about.
  3. Reminds me of the Battlemaster/Champion bags from launch. I know I cant wait to get 37 belts in a row again.
  4. As much as I would prefer to get Hexid, I hope that the quest to recruit whichever companion wins involves us killing the other companion. BioWare has been telling us that choices have consequences. So far, there haven't been any real ones, so please let this be one.
  5. Bolton. It also helps that his character is much better written, and much more developed, and at least on the TV show, masterfully portrayed.
  6. Most of the raiders have left the game. The few that are left are rarely on outside of their raid times. The players you are seeking are not available. Please leave a message after the beep. We will get back to you when this game becomes an MMO again.
  7. I'll believe it when I see it. Regardless, my sub is up on August 6th, and I wont be coming back until there is more MMO content. This single player story filler isn't bad for what it is, but it isn't MMO content.
  8. It would be funny if it wasn't par for the course, given how they've handled this entire "expansion."
  9. Don't worry. On tomorrow's stream, they'll flip it. So it will be like golf. A low score is good.
  10. See, here's the thing about comparing this to Diablo 3. 1) Diablo 3 is not an MMO. Diablo 3 is, at it's heart, a single player game. You can group with friends and strangers if you choose, but it is not a core element of the game. 2) Diablo 3 is not a subscription model game. It is a one time purchase, and then you're done paying for it. Those types of games do not have any incentive to constantly develop new content, except as DLC or expansion packs. MMOs do have an interest in developing new content, to keep players paying the subscription. 3) The core complaint about the event is not that it exists. It is that there has been no true MMO Content released for this game since 2014 except for what, one PVP map, and one Flashpoint? Since you want to go to Blizzard products, let's look at WoW. The amount of actual MMO content released over the course of our last two expansion cycles combined would barely qualify as a mid-cycle patch for them, or any other game claiming to be a Triple-A MMO. When asked for new content, BioWare's response has been "nothing yet." So with this event, they're saying "There's still no new content, but here, play through the entire game again. Eight times." That doesn't cut it.
  11. If it's anything like the old Tulak Horde set bug, it's tied to your graphics settings, and based on the quality of those images, that's what I'm inclined to believe.
  12. I'll probably wind up doing what I did last time I left. Anything that isn't bound, and about 80% of my credits will be sent out to random people on my server.
  13. I was going to give it a 0/10. However, after playing with it a bit, I am prepared to revise my score. 0.3/10. The .3 points don't come from the event, though. They come from interacting with other frustrated players, and making jokes about how this event is better than actual content.
  14. In any other MMO, an expansion pack contains MMO content. The KOTFE storyline, as good as the story was (once), is not MMO content, it's filler. In most other MMOs, the content of our last two expansion cycles combined would barely qualify as a midcycle patch.
  15. I'm a little curious as to how it's entitlement, myself. I'm not asking for anything. I don't want the rewards. I couldn't care less about making it retroactive, or anything else. I'd prefer they made content. You know, that stuff that literally makes or breaks MMOs like this. Telling us to start over is not content. BioWare Austin could throw all the rewards they want at me, and load me up to the 10 billion or whatever it is credit cap, and it would not impact my decision in the slightest. I'm voicing my displeasure in the direction the game has taken, and jumping ship.
  16. I mean, don't get me wrong. For new players, I hope they enjoy the game as much as I used to. I hope that everyone who sticks around is having a great time. I'm sure there are players who are having fun with the event, and more power to them. But one of the most fundamental parts to running a successful business is to maintain the goodwill of your customer. Every kid who's ever babysat, mowed lawns, shoveled snow, or run a lemonade stand knows this, so I would assume a large, multimillion dollar company knows this as well. If your customers aren't satisfied with your product/service, and you ignore, or even antagonize them, then you will destroy that goodwill, and they will move on. That's where I am at the moment. I no longer feel as though BioWare Austin has the best interests of its customers, especially the long-term customers in mind. Hell, with the nonsense they've been pulling lately, I'm not even convinced they have the best interests of their shareholders in mind. I used to be a staunch defender of the game, but that has deteriorated over time as the actions of BioWare Austin eroded that goodwill, and at this point, there's nothing left. Playing the game has come to feel like a chore more than anything else. I've already informed my raid team that I'm out once my sub ends, and that they should start looking for my replacement.
  17. For saving me $15/month. Instead of releasing new end game content, you have come out with this new event that basically says "Here, play the entire game over again, starting from scratch." Sorry, but after 16 toons to cap between launch and 3.0, and 4 through that tedious KOTFE nonsense (fine the first time, really no reason to do it on more), I really don't feel any motivation to play through 8 more toons from scratch. 60% reduction in heroic quest rewards is excessive. Sure, a nerf was probably in order, but probably more in the vein of 15-20%. Or, you could actually go after the botters and such, instead of punishing people who actually play the game. Still no plans to release any new end game content besides these 15-20 minute KOTFE chapters (sure, you claim they're about an hour, but only a little bit of that is actual playtime, the rest of it is tied up in cutscenes). And of course, all of this is just in addition to the myriad of lies, broken promises, and other issues that have been piling up ever since 2.0 (not a typo) was announced, and especially since the release of 4.0. Don't get me wrong. Bioware, you make amazing single player games. And for the single player game you've turned this in to, it really isn't bad. But single player games are a one time purchase, and not worth a recurring sub. I've left before, and I'm sure that nobody cares that I'm leaving again, but here we are. I'll probably pop back in briefly if you ever getting around to making this game the MMO I bought and was subbed to for the better part of 5 years, plus beta. But until then, I'm out. Just wanted to thank you for saving me my sub fee.
  18. If I still played the game, like at all, outside of my scheduled raid times (which, admittedly, even that probably won't continue for long) then you would have just ensured that I went Darkside, purely out of spite. Nobody tells me what to do unless they meet one of the following conditions. 1) They have the legal authority to imprison me. 2) They sign my paycheck. 3) They share my bed.
  19. I would have to say the best moment was when you attempted to murder Tait with bird noises.
  20. They took away all of the old flavor abilities that made the companions unique and interesting. Now they're all carbon copies of each other, except for HK-51 and Treek, who still have some of their old animations, and Lokin who still does his thing in dps/tank mode.
  21. I've been around since the second beta weekend. I still play...sparingly. I basically log in for raid nights, and immediately back out once raid is over, and I do the new chapter at some point within the first week or so after it is dropped. I've taken a few breaks, though. The longest was for about a year during my last deployment before I got out, and another one was from January until March when I just got burnt out. I want to like this game again like I did at launch, there's just no real substance to keep me engaged anymore.
  22. I would settle for 1 influence per enemy killed, regardless of the level of difficulty of the enemy, with the possible exception of awarding 0 for enemies labelled "weak." This avoids trivializing the influence grind, by resetting a heroic instance with a lot of elites for example, while still providing some incentive to actually use the companions, and providing an alternative way of levelling the influence, especially for those that do not gain influence through conversations and other means, that is more involved than spam clicking (or setting macros) to give stack after stack of gifts to our companions. Bioware should be incentivizing people to actually play the game, out in the game world. Not just standing in our stronghold clicking the same button for an hour+ per companion.
  23. I wouldn't care so much that they're holos if the preview matched the actual deco.
  24. All of the old removed weapons, such as the 1.0 Tionese/Columi/Rakata raid weapons, Battlerager's Lightsaber from the old PVP vendor, and so on. Ulrimately, if the weapon is moddable, it should have a tuning slot. Period.
  25. Shock Doctrine really should be changed so that killing them is enough to cause the counter to go up, especially since the enemies despawn so quickly that in a group of 3 (assuming none drop loot, since you can just do that one last) you will only be able to get 2 of them before the last one despawns. A number of the others, including Possessed Hunter, and the Republic Taris Rakghoul ones, should be instanced.
