  1. I have an i5 2500k unlocked and run at 4.4 ghz with a cpu water cooler - 8 gigs of ram, and a gtx 580 and swtor, on the highest settings (which i run it on) still chops, BAD, in some places. The fleet of course, i get dps dropd to 30ish or so sometimes, alderan is bad...and yet I can run rift and bf3 just fine!
  2. Yeah, i get put on the verify and complete stage with an error code - nothing prior to that asking me to choose a payment method etc again, very annoying
  3. Eh, its fine that folks get to spend a week with their families - but its a business, that can't mean EVERY SINGLE PERSON who works there is away trying to forget about the flaming on the forums
  4. It is quite amazing that in One Year we got 2 events...this game actively needs events, and some ongoing things to bring folks back to planets to do stuff! The rifts, the zone events in Gw2 - it makes levelling and exploring just a tad more exciting (and the worlds seem more alive and active). Force users still don't have a legacy sabre which is annoying, or something that's NOT a lightsaber to begin with
  5. It's been what, 7 days since anyone posted anything on twitter or the dev tracker? This alone must be adding to a lot of the anger on the forums....where are you folks?
  6. Eh, when your sub runs you just revert to f2p, unless you add more game time via a game card or sub or w/e
  7. I use my sin as my main for raid PVE these days, fully hazmat / 63's and I run with basically no Accuracy enhancments and the hazmat itself has no accuracy (whereas black hole did). For PVE operations Deception (inf) I run: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#2000MZfMrRkfbRroZf0c.2 Now whether you want the 1 point in 10 more force, or 1 point in increased movement speed is up to you. Having a lowered cooldown on Force speed IMO is a must for catching up to the boss during heavy movement phases... For Madness PVE I run: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#2000cZcMbZfMdRrbkrfz.2 I don't bother putting 3 points for the chain shock using madness, since I rarely EVER use shock with that build. Madness has less survivablity then deception, so taking any damage mitigation is nice - along with a lowered cooldown on force speed of course. I also change between deception and madness depending on the boss fight. For TFB HM I run madness on the Writhing Horror / Dread Guard / Kephess and Deception on the Droid Puzzle and TFB (usually deception for trash in between). For NIM / HM EC, madness is a good choice for Toth and Zorn, however in NIM EC I find deception quite nice for the damage reduction on toth and his jumping. Being able to use blackout more for damage reduction, and the reduction from critical hits is just nice....On Firebrand and stormcaller, I use deception, the minefields, deception, and kephess, deception.
  8. I dinged 50 on my merc last night, bought 2 war hero power relics, transfered my black hole gear from my powertech to my merc - so i need my belt / bracers, implants, ear, barrels and better mods / enhancments... I did that, and went and healed TFB SM about 20 minutes after I dinged...and it was fine! I had only around 780 tech power, but when my heals crit they went into the 5k range. I have healed everything on my sorc healer which was my main for the longest time, and i plan on gearing this merc up to hazmat / 63's...just bored of sorc healing. Next is to level my operative healer
  9. Yeah, but the thing is i rarely have ever had an issue in an ops on my sorc with healing aggro - innervating my pants off over healing and the like. Just seems the merc healers get more healing aggro
  10. So, my sorc was my main from launch until about 6 months ago (when i got bored of healing). During flashpoints / raids, I rarely ever got targeted when healing. One of my previous guildmate buddies was a healing merc, and I noticed during raids he would get targeted a lot (complaining on voice). Last week i decided to pick up my merc and lvl. I am now lvl 49, and after doing lots of flashpoints healing I notice i get targeted..A LOT!. The threat reduction on the merc tree is 10 percent...the sorc and operative get 15 percent. I don't know if the 5 percent makes such a huge difference in theory, but from my experience - it would seem to. Anyone else notice this?
  11. My sin DPS is complete hazmat / dreadguard 63's...I switch between madness and deception depending on the fight. Since switching out my black hole implants / ear for hazmat (you loose accuracy) so you have to either make that up with accuracy enhancments, or forget about. After so many hours of parsing and swapping mods - I have decided to just forget about accuracy. I now run with 95/105 accuracy for both madness / deception, allowing me to stack more power / surge. With madness and the crit buff, I have around 37 for crit, without around 35ish and 1038 force power (1050ish with charge mastery crit boost). As for DPS - lets use TFB HM as an example. On the Writhing I spec madness, and can pull top 2 or 3 throughout the fight - sometimes #1. For the Dread Guard, I spec madness and can pull top 2 or 3 (sometimes #1). For the droid puzzle, i spec deception and am generally #1. For Kephess, I spec madness, same as first two bosses. For TFB i spec deception and am generally on top of MoX. The assassin tree lacks a mainstat talent / crit / accuracy anywhere (except +3 percent in madness for charged master) making it really difficult to achieve stats the other classes can get. Forgoing accuracy, your thrash / VS will miss sometimes, and your maul when the proc is up may be dodged. So watch out for that in case you maul and miss. Otherwise, it seems to do ok, EDIT: I am on PO5 as well, my sin name is Parabole if you have any questions or wanna see my gear setup at some point
  12. I levelled a powertech back in Feb or so - and this problem was around then with her too. .She is basically just a crafter these days - but recently i picked up my lvl 30 merc I had sitting around for the last 7 months and am currently 45ish - and this animation still exists!. That is just...Bioware? I also notice that when im heal spec'd, my rapid shot guns appear in a place i used to be shoot-healing a team-mate...weird? Why do the female Bounty Hunter toons look like they are squeezing one out, after a year of the game being live?
  13. the dread guard power click reclic - and I would say the elemental proc one. As for the proc one, I would only 'really' equip that in a raid of my target had a jug / merc dps target on it lowering its armor, otherwise i use the power relic + war hero
  14. Snipers have an accuracy talent, along with crit and mainstat and endurance (for some reason)... Voltiac slash makes up the most of your damage, its a filler but its used the most. Maul, the proc may stay up but thats wasted DPS to have to hit again. /move along
  15. I too crash at the end of black talon, first convo in foundry and random places (the game just closes and im at my desktop). I have a GTX 580, i5 2500k OC'd, 8 gigs of ram etc.,....system is fine and runs more graphic intensive games without a hitch
  16. Just cause i look bad *** My sin... http://i47.tinypic.com/347af48.jpg
  17. I have a marauder that was a main for awhile - and for 1.4 i switched back to my sin. For starters, I never really 'dug' the marauder animations - specifically the stance he/she holds the sabers. The play style itself is ok, carnage or anni - and yes they are the most OP PVE class in the game. So many defensive cool-downs, and good damage. Jugs look cooler, and vengeance has a more fluid playstyle to it. My assassin, for starters, looks bad ***. In equal gear (in my case for sin pve dps, all hazmat / 63's minus an earpiece) can do better damage then a marauder / pt / sniper DEPENDING on the boss. I regularly do so with deception, for instance - but generally only on the droid puzzle boss in TFB, and on TFB himself. The other fights I usually end up 3rd or 4th (in 16man) simply because of the movement and clutter of players - it gets hard to position for mauls. Madness is a good spec, but is a very hard spec to play and play well. You have to watch your bar for about 5 different things - all the while paying attention to raid mechanics. I have also found that as a deception assassin raiding, its hard to get respect with a group of marauders and powertechs. I have the single highest burst out of any class, Carange included. The issue with assassins is the sustained tampers off a bit after the minute and a half mark - whereas say Carnage can slap on bersek, massacre and it refunds rage... Another issue with the assassin tree, is that we lack very basic stats that every other class get. We have no mainstat talent, no accuracy talent (in a stance or on a tree) and no force / melee crit talent (except charged master if your madness +3 percent).... This makes itemizing the class EXTREMELY difficult. I have spent probably over 2 mill in the last month parsing on the ops dummy, swapping out mods / enhancments (more crit, less crit - ok then that means less accuracy or power). As an assassin, if your not spec'd madness - it is impossibly to achieve a crit rating of say 35+ (like every other class gets) with 110 accuracy, and a force/tech power of 1050+...impossible.
  18. agreed. Love the game, and like everyone else I have been disappointed at times but continued to play the game. I enjoy character mechanics, animations - and overall the non-12-year-old-anime-fantasy feel to it. But seriously, it's coming on a year - I don't even know what Life Day is in the Star Wars universe....but I was excited about 'something' to do other then daily's and stand on the fleet with. Geared my 5 other alts in campaign and 63's can't keep my attention forever - where are the events? I realize the impossibility of fluctuating events lie Rift has - though, this would be great and give us reason to revisit planets at 50...but, only Two events in a year? Really? This life Day thing was hyped up -it comes and everything is on the market to buy, re-skinned armour with a Christmasy feel or a crap speeder with tinsel on it....Where's the double bladed saber love? Snipers get a cool long bow, marauders and jugs get a silly axe if they want it....wheres our neato staff or crazy Conan the Barbarian looking something or other... Bah shrug....I remember in rift they had that long quest, and at the end you got a cool new helm or chest and a croco mount...that was fun.
  19. You can't use the PVE dread guard relics in pvp anyway
  20. the hazmat implants are so poorly itemized, its frustrating. Since it is an "upgrade" from black hole, yet you lose accuracy because none of the hazmat implants have any. There are two willpower ones that you can basically get, one force lords and one strikers - both have more willpower then end (one has crit surge, one has power surge i believe)... DPS of course
  21. I said I can keep up with them, on certain fights - mainly the puzzle boss and TFB itself. The rest on 16man I usually parse around 4th or 5th as deception. Also, I am completely dread guard with the exception of an ear piece. I am geared, and we don't have too many yet that are 'that' geared out for dps. A couple of our marauders are, and yeah - they easily top on every fight. I have to be geared to the **** to even come close - we need what every class has. I would love some crit or mainstat talents, if that is asking too much at least give us an accuracy talent in surging charge. SOMETHING. I spend around 300k a day swapping out mods and enhancments, more crit, less crit, more accuracy, less accuracy. If i want say 1005+ force power (with 2 dread guard relics equiped) I basically have to have 95/105 accuracy. If I want 100/110 accuracy, I basically have to have 900+ force power or very low crit. It's a simple issue really, why the assassin is the only class in the game with 1 stat boost - endurance, is beyond me. Sure, madness gets +3 percent under charge mastery, but I play an assassin - I got bored of madness on my sorc long ago (granted, it is better on the assassin)
  22. I agree with a lot of what you said, but this has more to do with PVE and deception in endgame operations. Honestly, I see no issue in PVP.
  23. Thanks for your input bro, move along. And I am a pretty good player, so I thank you again. This thread is about some equality in terms of some very basic stats - ie, at the very least, an accuracy increase in the surging charge stance or something. Kindly move along to the next thread, peace
  24. I don't know whether your talking about PVP or PVE - but a 23/1/17 is not a DPS build - its a pvp build
