  1. Agreed (If you are not trolling, that is... which somehow, I really hope you do...) Of course pure infiltration shadows are squishy. If you want more survivability and can live with the lower burst, switch to kinetic. If you want to faceroll without effort, try a grav round spammer and hope nobody notices you.
  2. I have no problems getting the 300k medal in voidstar / turret WZ's. But it all depends on your opponents of course. My average is like 225k I guess. In hutball I hardly get more then 100k because I am focussing on the ball, not on people. (I rather pull them in the fire, instead of wasting time). Have to add I am not full kinetic, I only went up the tree untill harnessed shadows, and got the usefull balance skills.
  3. In short: The best allround shadows are based on the Kinetic tree. And you can kill people just fine.
  4. Hmmm okay... and I was thinking all Assassins on my server were noobs for hardly ever being able to lock me in the fire succesfully
  5. Good question. Tested it enough to declare it point waste.
  6. So squishy! Nice video though! 1 question though: As you can never use spinning kick apart from right away out of stealth, why do I hardly see that being used?
  7. In my eyes there's nothing wrong with the way they designed things. If you don't spec to make the skill worthwhile, then of course don't use it. For my build, Project is essential in a good rotation. But you should never compare a unbuffed telekinetic throw with project. You can get interrupted. You can get knocked away, you can get stunned: In call cases your damage on throw will be non existant. Project on the other hand is instant (delayed of course), so it's at least a more or less guaranteed hit. I actually never use Throw when it is not buffed by HS, because I find that skill to be way too bad without buffs. 3 HS stacks (75 % extra damage on throw, plus of course the healing) is really the only time I use it, unless I am rooted and need to finish somebody on very low HP that is out of range. Fully buffed Throw is usually 1250 per tick on geared people. But you can get interrupted, stunned, knocked down... so you never know for sure you will do that damage either. A PA procced Project on my tree does always a guaranteed 2.5k+ damage, with the chance to make a ~4k dmg hit when upheavel kicks in. Also project makes my next melee attacks crit way more often, which makes it part of a solid rotation for any shadow built like mine. And I love my build And what's wrong with having a more or less "required" buff-stack on a skill to make it worthwhile? Grav Rounders have to spam the ability a few times as well, before being able to cast Demolition Round. I have to cast project 3 times before I SHOULD use telekinetic throw. And I also always wait for PA to proc before I use a project (usually after 2 double strikes anyway).
  8. As ^ said, I need project for my harnessed shadows. as I did not spec slow time. But next to that, when upheavel kicks in, 2 stones together hit for nearly 4k damage which is pretty nice. Also, because I only use project after a particle acceleration proc, it is 100 % of the time a crit project, so also 100 % of the time project is proccing Force Synergy. So for my build on my kinetic shadow: I use project really a lot.
  9. Kinetic combat all the way. There is no need for a pure DPS shadow unless your group really lacks DPS, because Kinetic shadows bring so much more utility to the group you're in. But of course, everyone should play the way they enjoy the game, I can imagine some people don't like tanking stuff in pve, or being personal bodyguard / semiDPSer in pvp.
  10. @OP: Okay if you want opinions about kinetic "hybrids", which is the only build I really have experience with, here you go: When I was a fresh 50, I was a pure infiltration spec shadow. I had fun bursting people down, but I felt more like a glasscannon soldier, rather then a group player. Because I wanted more utility, more survivability and because I wanted to do both PvP and PvE without switching builds, I went Kinetic / Infiltration hybrid. Untill 1.1.2 I never looked back. But of course, this build is not possible anymore, as the buff to shadow strike (& reduced project cost) does not work in kinetic stance anymore. So with 1.1.2 I had to switch around, and now I'm running around with this build: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601rIMokrskbZZf0cMb.1 (Note the 2 free points to spend anywhere you prefer....) 300k a warzone is not a rare thing at all, but I have to say I am pure battlemaster gear (apart from the offhand). I use 2 stalker pieces and 3 surviver pieces, but all more or less modded for power and surge (no crit needed, as that comes from the implants and earpiece and weapon). Now, when I want to do pve, I have both the columni stalker set (4 pieces), which really is enough to be a good DPSer. I still stay in combat stance when I DPS, I just have to watch my aggro a bit. With all buffs popped, I do consistent 1,5k crits (x2, so basically 3k) double strikes. And the crit rate is insane with the PvE set added to the 9% buff from projects. When I equip the columni surviver set, I can tank anything just fine as well, apart from maybe the hard/nightmare mode monkey basher in Karagga's Palace during his rage-periods. (What is his name again? ) For me this build is the most usable and all-around. But that does not mean it is the only viable spec around
  11. BM commendations should still be 25 % , as they were before. Sadly, I did not get a single BM token since a week, and I did finish all dailies / weeklies.
  12. Asking poeple what you "Should go for" is rather useless. You should do what you like most. Do you want to be infiltration based DPS, Balance based DPS, or more of a tanker? Since they nerfed hybrids there isn't really that much to chose though.
  13. No... because Battlemaster gear only offers a very slight edge over champion gear, whereas Fresh 50 gear to champion gear is a huge difference. Battlemaster gear should stay 25 % per token, to make it at least hard to come by.
  14. It is not going to change Kinetic / Balance hybrids much... it is however destroying kinetic / infiltration shadows, which was my build =/
  15. My pvp experience tells me otherwise. Just watch my video for instance to get an impression of what the build is capable of. Kinetic / Infiltration was for general purpose way better then either pure kinetic or pure infiltration. It depends on your class, but shadows have very viable hybrid specs.
  16. This basically means the hybrid use of Kinetic / Infiltration spec, will be total garbage. Even though the hybrid spec was not per se better then for instance the Kinetic / balance hybrid, Bioware has decided to nerf it down. Nooo... this basically means every hybrid assassin / shadow has way less options available. We will not be weaker, we will be very solid pvpers, but I personally foresee only less and less viable builds. Less differentiation... bleh I personally will now switch to the Kinetic / Balance hybrid most likely.... maybe maybe will get slow time, because it works as intended now with Harnessed Shadows.
  17. Nooooooooo I have played kinetic / infiltration from the start and I love the hybrid so much. I tried the cookie butter Kinetic / Balance hybrid, but it is just boring compared to Kinetic / Infiltration. If they are going to nerf the circling shadows, I have no choice but to join the bandwagon I'll still be fine, but I loved my build... http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601rIMokbskfZhGbMz.1
  18. The Ravager - Republic Finished weekly in about 3 hours, doing warzones in the meantime. So effective it took my group like 2 hours I guess. We had to actually search for imps yesterday, while camping crates in between.
  19. 72 already? Nice! I tend to get bored in Ilum to fast... Either tooooo many or too few imps to kill. I am running a tank / infiltration hybrid myself nearly all the time, but you remind me to try out a pure DPS build once as well.
  20. It is possible to do it, and killing the ball carrier by pulling up the safe zone is not an exploit according to Bioware. So I don't see how they will call this an exploit either. I still call it lame though.
  21. ^ You mad brah? To me it looks like the chance for a battlemaster commendation is roughly 25 %, but maybe I am lucky. I am valor rank 65, and the only BM pieces I miss are the shoes and the offhand. So only 5 comms to go, which should take like a week. Of course you will always have people that are just too unlucky, so maybe one suggestion would be to have like " BM silver commendations " tp always drop, and when you have 50 of them you can get 1 piece of gear. That way the really unlucky people can still get their gear, even though it will take a while. PS: The difference between full champion gear (which everyone can get quite easily) and full BM gear is only a few %, so in the end, this should not be the deciding factor. Skill / teamplay will be.
  22. Bad troll is bad. He got interrupted, don't worry But if you know how to exploid getting so many people in a warzone, how about writing a ticket and reporting it? Cuz I don't know how to do it, and thankfully, I don't need more poeple to win my warzones.
  23. I am a jedi shadow, a tank hybrid, so I got the pull skill. Few things to keep in mind: 1) You can pull people over the score line, but make sure to pull people far enough over the line to kill them, otherwise they will score (I got a video where I actually got pulled when carrying the ball and actually scored. I even survived somehow and was standing on top of the other team's safe zone. 2) You can reset the "kick-out-timer" by going to the sides of the safe zone, which should really be adressed. You can stay in your base forever as a perfect goalkeeper as a shadow / assassin, because you can stealth and just wait for them to come. 3) 2 ways to prevent: Full resolve, or get a resilience shadow to score the ball, because he can be immune to any force/tech attacks for 3 to 5 seconds depending on build. 4) I consider this entire pull-thing really lame, and should be fixed as soon as possible. I mean... you pull somebody PAST the line, so the ball crossed it... so it should be a goal. PS: I only pull people up the ledge if the other team has a lamer / bugabuser / exploiter in their team, which thankfully does not happen that often. Oh... and of course if I fight my own guild so we can have a good laugh on ventrilo
  24. As a shadow I hate... 1 on 1: Nothing really, apart from really good marauders and juggs, other then that shadows can beat everything quite fine 1 on 1. Groupplay: Operatives... in a 1 on 1 I really eat them for breakfast, but in a group then can slice through me way too fast cuz you get CCed by more then just the operative.
  25. Umad i posted you bugabusing? @Ops frame: I will post a screeny later showing how to adjust it. Can't right now cuz I'm at work.
