  1. Cut down shadows, and I think theres a setting somewhere like "reduce maximum number of displayed players" or something. Shadows are terrible no matter how high you set them, and the only place you see a high number of players is the fleet anyway
  2. Hes quitting because he doesnt enjoy the game. Reading comprehension. The developer put in a system that is not only not fun for people who "win"(did you really have FUN farming those eggs?), but a complete slap to anyone who has even a minor amount of latency. Rewarding time investment is good, rewarding effort is good. But rewarding spam clicking, botting, and latency? That is VERY poor game design. Bioware you should look into making stuff like this similar to a "public event" from Warhammer Online(I know youve got the source material for that handy ), where everyone who is in the (small) area is automatically put into a loot roll for the item. You could even scale the number of egg "drops" up to how many people are there, so something like 1 for every 10 people, while keeping it either BoP or BoL(and probably putting in some way to prevent someone from getting all the eggs, like if you win one it auto passes the next to the next highest roller).
  3. All of the above except for Operation HM/NM. Normal mode Ops are fine, as long as the group finder can do some sort of gear check.
  4. I love the way jumping is right now, personally. None of that instant I-dont-need-to-bend-my-legs crap from WoW please.
  5. Yeh for now youll just have to live with it because Bioware doesnt actually care about this. My problem was that as a Grey Sith who took Artifice none of the relics I can get through Treasure Hunting are usable - every relic you find requires an alignment. Though thankfully PvP and PvE gear at 50 doesnt have alignment requirements.
  6. Just double the distance and Ill be happy, as it is I have it turned off because it looks better... which btw, their ground textures are pretty good.
  7. He has a point, people are just jerks when someone asks for help in game. But thats a problem with the community, not Biowares design.
  8. I think this is somewhat of a test run, Id be willing to bet Bioware isnt 100% on how long this is going to last.
  9. Hm that sounds about right, what companions? If neither of you is a healer then you should be using at least one healer companion, and their gear really matters about as much as your gear does. Possibly even both using healer companions. Thankfully Commando companions mostly use the same stuff you do. For hard hitting melee bosses like that(clear the surrounding area first), you should try kiting them and using ranged companions if possible. Or just healer companions, which by the mid 30s should even have their own CC. Basically you just want to reduce how often you take damage, and when you are taking damage reduce it with a Sage bubble or cooldown. A Commando isnt a spectacular kiter, but you have a knockback and a stun to get distance and a Sage has a snare/knockback/stun as well to assist you. You may also want to consider having one of you spec for healing if you plan to duo H4 missions. Its really not that bad, you still do a lot of damage as a healer. Level 30 has always been a sort of difficulty wall(Alderann), so you might be experiencing a bit of that in addition to the nerfs. It could also just be that you ran into some missions that were designed to be harder.
  10. This x100, TOR endgame gear is already waaay too fantastical for Star Wars.
  11. I read the first page of QQ, why would I read 3 more pages of it? Lol. The item is still "unique", there are just other items now that look the same - but they are not the same item. People got suckered by marketing terminology.
  12. Except for the fact that merging servers does not indicate failure in any way. Not that I think Bioware will do it, because then they will lose out on the extra cash from xfers when they open up.
  13. Kudos to Bioware for this event. Even small stuff like this is really great for keeping the community active! On my server The Harbinger(PvE) theres even some really good world PvP going on, it must be an absolute mess on PvP servers XD As for the levels, Ive seen people in their 30s doing the dailies.
  14. Did your green/black crystal disappear? No? Then why does this bother you? Oh, its because someone ELSE might use the same thing as you. I get it now. http://www.razerzone.com/swtor Im not seeing "Exclusive" anywhere on the page, but maybe I missed it.
  15. What I want, personally, is an open PvP zone that plays like Battlefront 2 space combat. Or extremely wishful thinking, Guild vs Guild capital ship battles where its like Battlefront 2 but using our player ships to assault/board the enemy capital ship. http://dulfy.net/2012/04/07/paxeast-2012-swtor-q-a-panel/ http://dulfy.net/2012/04/07/paxeast-q-a-day-2/ http://dulfy.net/2012/04/10/paxeast-2012-day-3-qa/ I think most of this is paraphrased, but its from a fairly reliable source(afiak, havnt been going to this site for very long).
  16. Yep same here. I saw "performance optimizations" mentioned on the PTR a little while back but have yet to see anything but performance losses with 1.2.
  17. I think Powertech but I have no experience with playing an Assassin.
  18. I think the level 20 PvP gear is a white/greyish with blue/purple trim. Unless that got taken out with 1.2
  19. Its really more a playstyle/difficulty difference. Juggernauts are designed for people with some experience tanking in MMOs already. If youve ever had to tab target as a tank to keep AoE threat, then youll know how a Juggernaut plays.
  20. What got "nerfed into the ground" was the opening burst, which mostly affected PvP. But people see any kind of a "nerf" and cry a river over it, even though nobody had any actual numbers to back anything up. Someone was posting 13-1400 DPS for Concealment on a Ops dummy recently, but to achieve this he needed to essentially reitemize all his tier gear with mods from other classes gear. So to get the best out of your Operative for DPS requires a lot of work that you should not have to do, because Bioware itemized the class wrong. - Which is hopefully something we can change now that we have the tools to go to Bioware and say "Hey look, you were wrong, heres my proof", but this isnt going to be something that happens soon. As for playing a Sniper, cover honestly isnt that bad once youre used to it in PvE. I actually find it a lot of fun personally. For PvP you can even abuse rolling into cover to get away from people, and completely avoid some attacks. Not to mention that if you do like to PvP you get a lot of your utility by level 16(snare, aoe mez, knockback, stun, and high burst). If you want a stationary ranged class, that doesnt use cover, try a Mercenary. Or if you want a more mobile ranged class, try a Sorcerer. Edit: Every time I see someone talking about a Lethality Sniper being more mobile, its always about PvP. Plus even if youre not Lethality you should not just sit in one spot the whole Warzone, and its not like youre useless outside cover(stuns/snares/mez) you just lose your high burst abilities.
  21. Ive played my Juggernaut, Operative, and Commando since 1.2 and theyre all just as fun to play as before. Duno what people keep complaining about.
  22. The big draw for me about a Sniper is the big guns, even if theyre not long range... However Ive got to go with Operative/Gunslinger because an Operative stealth gameplay fits the story far better, and the Smuggler never really does anything stealthy. Plus using tables as cover and shooting then ducking fits the Smuggler/Han Solo theme really well. Edit: Ive always seen the Sniper as more of a field agent or army scout personally. About Kaliyo, I think those combat lines refer to herself not the player
  23. The Ferris Wheel is that way ---> Seriously though, could you at least make your post legible? All I got from it was "I spent 8 years playing FotM classes", because if you were trying to make a legitimate point I am unable to understand it. Please calm down and elaborate.
  24. What about the Recruit PvP gear? Ignoring the Expertise on it, has anyone tried using it for HM FPs?
  25. Ive tried both Gunnery and Medic since the patch on my level 34 Commando, and didnt notice any significant changes. I can still solo H2s and have high damage output as a healer, I still AoE packs down with 1-2 skills, I wasnt running out of juice when I was Gunnery. I do however have Legacy Level of 20, and have all the companion buffs so I have about 300 Presence so that is making a difference. If they nerfed players who dont have these buffs to the point where its not fun to play, then that is definitely something Bioware needs to address. Was there anything specific youre having problems with though? You could tell me how you would handle a pull that has... 2 gold elites and 2 silver elites, and I could maybe give you some pointers.
