  1. I was one of them too. But I managed to sell my account 2 weeks before they announced they were closing the servers. It was clear towards the end when EA took over that the game was in trouble. Every new content patch was a disaster followed by loads of rollbacks. You can look up quite a few failed MMO's from that era that closed their servers. F2P models were not around or in place to make a last stand for them.
  2. Its one step closer though. Considering most people left in the game are Star Wars fans or altoholic casuals I dont see how this will save the game. The altoholics and casuals might as well take the F2P option and never pay another penny to play the game. People will shout out that the F2P model has brought back players when it comes. The truth of it is though, them players would have come back anyway to check out the new content which will be long past due then leave again.
  3. This games on fire and the Devs dont know how to put it out. The game crashed months ago and been burning ever since. That should give you some indication of how appealing the game is. Its worth picking up out the bargain bins at your nearest game store and playing your free month. If you like making alts and dont mind bashing your spacebar to cycle through loads of over used mission cutscenes so you can see the 30+ story missions for each char, then you may sub for another month or two till you get sick of seeing the lifeless landscapes.
  4. Its only around 6hrs of gameplay even for a newbie so they aint giving too much away.
  5. With the servers being sharded, why dont they have just 1 server? Im really growing tired of this game .... 2-3 days to complete a PvP daily is a joke. I could probably get it done in a day if im willing to sit around for 1-2hrs for waiting for WZ's. How many servers will they merge into 1? Any less then 6-1 is gonna be just as pointless with the speed at which ppl leave this game. Who cares about 15 sharded fleets? It will make the gaming experience alot better. And there would be no need for cross server LFG tools. Is this a possibility and something BW can do? I can not wait another 2 months for server merges, it should be prio over anything else being added to this game. If I unsub it will be for good but im really hoping it doesn't come to that.
  6. I hate it, it really kills the single player experience of the game.
  7. Go back to school your calculations are well off. Knock a 0 off 2mil and you'll be closer to the mark. Wait another week to see if the 1.2 patch made much of an impact on server populations. At the moment server stats show that the number of EU dead servers went from 16 to 21 in the last week, but this maybe due to the server downtime.
  8. Would be nice to know exactly what they meant by "performance optimizations" because ive received the opposite.
  9. Ive always had long loading times but since the 1.2 patch they seem to be longer. By the time ive loaded a planet after leaving a WZ im no longer in the queue for the next one because I missed the next available one. Sometimes I also joined a WZ and not been able to leave the start zone in time before it kicks me for being AFK. Anyone else having this problem?
  10. Love this. TBH, its rogue capitalism maybe closer to fascism. As George Carlin put it "The truth about the American Dream is you have to be asleep to believe it"
  11. The single player aspect of the game for the story line, casual playing, Alt-o-holics is in abundance already. 16 player storylines + all your companions to gain affection with should keep you happy for another year. They should keep focusing on the MMO and RPG side to try and balance it out with the existing storylines.
  12. I guess some of us have been spoiled with WoW. Southshore Vs Tarren Mill battles City Raids Taking over transport ships dressed as pirates. But they aren't no fun compared to instanced PvP are they
  13. Can you name a MMO that doesn't have a story? A good 'in your face' story does not make a good MMO. What was the point in having PvP servers if its so story based and not intended for player interaction with others? But ye, your right, I guess it a big story based game ..... but not so much MMO more single player.
  14. You have a better chance on the Fatman server to experience PvP when leveling due to people rerolling on that server. The problem is the game segregates players too much. Thats not just PvP either, its also the same with PvE making it feel like a single player experience. Too much down the rabbit hole instanced areas takes people out of the open world.
