  1. I loved the Hoth to Belsavis transition. Go to her office, then to a Trooper mission area, back to her office, End of Act 2. To the fleet, back to her office, to another Trooper mission area, then back to her office for the FOURTH TIME, then finally you can head to Belsavis. It's ridiculous.
  2. I am referring to his Whirling Force and Run Through abilities, if you're not sure what I am talking about. I had used him here and there on the way to 50 for kicks. Double dps does kill quickly...but one thing I had noticed about his damage was that his AoE was really weak. So I checked out his abilities, and his Whirling Force is considered a Force attack, and not only is that a Force ability, so is his Run Through DoT. Looking over his character sheet, the only thing that actually benefits a Force attack for him is Willpower. For comparison, my Smuggler's equivalent companion Akaavi, which has the same role and gearing requirements, has Tech attack equivalents, and though Yuun (most of his starting gear's been replaced at least) has about the same gear level as Akaavi (whom I never used on the way to 50, though I gave her some excess Smuggler Champion gear for the hell of it and Cunning does benefit Tech), Akaavi's equivalent attacks are much stronger. Just making this post to see if anyone else has noticed this.
  3. I have hit a 5k+ SF since the nerf. Only once though. C/S Relic, Power Adrenal, and I don't remember if I had the red buff. Hit it on a Sorc, and judging by his health, an undergeared one. Again someone with equal gear, yeah, that's not happening...
  4. I've been using Vik almost exclusively since I got him as Gunnery (with a breif stint into AS), currently 48, finishing Voss. He's been fantastic. I kill faster than with Elara, since he not only does decent damage, he allows me to use FA properly. Since I can dps properly instead of everything beating on me, I can manage my ammo much better. I can heal him to full in a manner of seconds, so downtime is minimal, since I don't need to heal myself often. I didn't use 4X since I thought that Elara's healing would be too useful to pass up. I still use Elara for Champion level mobs, but for everything else, Vik's been kicking some serious tail.
  5. It's Flechette Round. When you use it, you load a round into the shotgun, spin it, and put it away.
  6. I love Blaster Volley to death. If it's going to hit more than two people, I'd usually rather use it than Sucker Punch. Plus the way it can melt people crowding around the bomb in Voidstar, couple with grenades and Flyby is quite a sight sometimes.
  7. I think you severely overestimate the amount of people that actually want this sort of gameplay. When taking into account the amount of effort this would take to code and balance, not to mention make sense in this story-heavy game, where being a part of one faction is a big deal, it's really not worth the effort for the handful of people that actively want to play (and continue to play after getting one shot by a higher level and losing everything...constantly, which WOULD happen) on a server like this. Maybe it would work in a game you have such fond memories for, but a game with that sort of thing needs to be designed with that in mind.
  8. Yes, how hard could it possibly be to completely change the way PvP and most social aspects/interactions of the game work just for a server or two? Must be completely trivial, obviously. Just need to flip a switch, I'm sure.
  9. Yeah, we do. Sorc doesn't have much burst damage, just rather good sustained damage and a ton of control. Mercs can put out a lot of damage, but the burst is somewhat backloaded and can be neutralized fairly easily if you get on them. Interrupt the Tracers and their rotation falls apart. I can drop a 50 with okayish gear within the knockdown with a temp buff, and can still do critical damage to someone with much better gear? Non 50s? They just fall over. Let's not pretend Scrapper doesn't put out insane damage. We do, and frankly our sustained out of stealth damage isn't completely horrible either. I think we'll be more balanced when I can't kill half their team before they stand up, but we'll see. If we get a nerf I won't be terribly surprised.
  10. Doing Esseles on an alt with another guildmate in vent. Talking about how he'll finally get to see what happens if we leave the Ambassador behind (he never wins that roll when we do it on HM), blah blah. We start the conversation, then, this... Such a bizarre bug, but the slipping animation is just so detailed...how does this happen I want to know, but I couldn't stop laughing for a while.
  11. Used Risha almost exclusively once I got her, with Guss coming out occasionally. AoEd everything down quickly, killed Elites before they killed me. Popped defensive cooldowns constantly, but hey, that's what they're there for in the first place! This probably would've been much less effective if I wasn't a Biochem and kept up to date on my Reusable Medpac, but regardless, double DPS was fast and the downtime wasn't too bad. You recuperate a bit more but the faster kill speeds make up for it. Plus she's easy to gear, just takes your old gear minus your weapon.
  12. Oh please. I'll admit that out burst is ridiculous, but there is no way I would be able to burst someone down from full health, through guard, in 5 seconds.
  13. Believe me, I do agree we may need somewhat of a nerf. I almost always do the most damage in WZs, and can slaughter people back to back if people don't pay attention to me (and I get to hop back into stealth immediately if my target dies if no one does). But I see so many posts claiming that we never kill people in the opener, and just as many acting as though we regularly and frequently 100 -> 0 50s regardless of class and gear. Neither is the case. It was more of a "this is what it's actually like" rather than "we're fine." We may actually be more balanced once half their team isn't free kills. Our sustained dps out of stealth is okay but not great, and we have serious issues with repeated roots and knockbacks, but we can bring huge burst. Likely something will change, but we'll see what it looks like when there's finally brackets.
  14. I actually am a geared 50 Scrapper. The Scoundrels/Operatives saying that you can't kill someone in the opener...totally false. If I have a temp buff up (adrenal/relic/expertise) I can and do frequently drop a lower level character or poorly geared 50 in the opener. Generally this requires at least two of my abilities to crit, but it's not that rare to kill someone before they can react (without popping the CC Break). A well geared 50 on the other hand, that's a whole different beast. I've done it before with all three temps up, and almost always bring them below half unless I'm unlucky with crits. It differs from class to class. An unshielded Sage is by far the squishiest, though if the shield is up, I am NOT going to kill him alone in the opener. If he has gear I'm probably not bringing him below half. Assassins are also fairly squishy, though probably the most annoying for me to fight in a 1v1 for whatever reason. Mercs are surprisingly easy to kill as well, they just can't get away that well and are a dangerous target if left alone. Snipers too. But anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. The only way I'm going to even get close to killing a geared 50 in the opener is with multiple temp buffs and everything crits. This DOES happen, and I can usually bring them decently low if I'm unlucky, but I rarely kill them in the opener.
  15. Scoundrel representing http://i.imgur.com/9hHeQ.jpg I also had one match where I did about 480k...and was inexplicably kicked to the login page about a minute and a half or so before the match ended. Probably could've gotten 550k+ that match, but hey.
  16. The major Pro with WoW, and it's a huge one, is the fluidity. WoW plays far, FAR better than SWTOR. Haven't played any Rift, so can't make comparisons, but the sheer responsiveness and fluidity of character movement and animations in WoW is on another level compared to TOR.
  17. I guess it varies from server to server. I find I win well over half my WZs as Republic. If I'm grouped with anyone, it's almost always a curbstomp regardless of who's queuing on the other side.
  18. My god, what people actually think addons in WoW are capable of doing...have any of you guys actually played the game? At all? Addons can not automate anything. There was quite a bit of gray area back in Vanilla WoW with addons like the old Decursive, but addons have not been able to do conditional actions like they used to be able to since TBC. Anything that really deviated from that, such as AVR back in ICC or that one rogue addon that switched weapon set when you Envenomed, the name escapes me at the moment, was quickly broken. Addons increase the amount of information available to the player, or lets the player customize his UI to his liking, but they DO NOT play the character for you. They can tell you when a boss is about to use an ability, but it's still up to the player to dodge it at the end of the day. If you're going to criticize addons, then you should at least know what they can and can not do. Many of you are just coming off as crazed lunatics, ready to defend SWTOR to the death and bash WoW at a moment's notice, no matter how legitimate a complaint or comparison is. It's quite amusing really. Personally, I'd like some basic UI customization. Target of target at least (How it is not already in game is beyond me), a way to further tweak the Op frames, to at least let me see what buffs/debuff people actually have (they're insanely tiny as is). Personally I'd actually really like damage meters, if only out of curiosity (plus I love to compete), but I'm not that picky. At the end of the day though I don't expect Bioware to implement any mod support or real customization of any sort, and I do think this will be a huge detriment to the game.
  19. Scoundrel here. I think the biggest issue is that Shoot First/Hidden Strike can just hit way too hard when you stack your buffs. My record with Adrenal/Relic/Expertise Buff is a bit over 8.1k, and that with a Power Adrenal, could be much higher with surge and some better gear. That was to a 50 Assassin with some expertise gear, for the record. Even without having everything up, I do occasionally kill someone in my opener, before they get to stand up, even 50s on occasion. I think the real reason people think we're dangerous is because we ARE incredibly dangerous. Of course, we're somewhat weaker in group fights. When people actually pay attention to us, and we're repeatedly knocked back and rooted, if we don't have Vanish up we're likely just dead or autoattacking and tossing Grenades. When we get to pick off the guys in the back and hop right back into stealth because we're ignored, then the fight is all but won.
  20. The only differences are SUPPOSED to be asthetics. Currently, Agents have two main advantages over us Smugglers: Our Dirty Kick (stun) roots us in place during the animation, while Agent Debilitate can be used on the run. Secondly, Agent's Flash Bang has a 30s shorter cooldown than the Smuggler's Flash Grenade. Why? Who the hell knows, it's been repeatedly reported and noted and I'm baffled as to why this very simple issue hasn't been fixed. Once/if these are fixed, mechanically there should be no differences at all.
  21. That's pretty impressive. Best I've been able to do on my Scoundrel is 500k. http://i.imgur.com/ZqxcT.jpg We do pretty beastly damage, definitely the highest single target burst. It's not uncommon for me to kill a lower level player within my opener, and if my Relic/Adrenal is up, I can often do it a 50. Do note that I'm only killing someone in my opener if my SF crits, but it crits quite hard...
  22. I used Risha exclusively once I got her. Well, I pulled out Guss every once in a while when I was entirely sure the boss would go down before I did (usually not the case though), but other than that, things just went the fastest with her. I leveled as a Scrapper the whole way, and while neither of us could tank damage that well, dead mobs deal no damage. I think it's worth mentioning that I kept up to date on my reusable medpac, which cut down on downtime significantly. I ended up adopting a more reckless style of questing, where I would just be popping defensive cooldowns/medpacs like crazy, but taking down things very quickly in the end. Rarely died. I tried out Akaavi during Quesh. Things seemed to be dying much more slowly though, and the AoE knockback was annoying, always messing up my Blaster Volleys. The damage might have been a gear issue thoguh, in hindsight. I haven't pulled out Corso or Bowdaar once since I tried out Risha for the first time.
  23. The aggravating thing is that Surge Rating is almost absent on our PvP gear. Accuracy is everywhere, and the pieces that don't have accuracy have the also rather useless (power us) alacrity.
  24. Operatives, Powertechs and Marauders don't have knockbacks, for the record.
