    A PvP a Day...

Do you have to buy one for your ship or is there one somewhere else you can beat up for free? This is a baby legacy so I don't have a ton of credits and most of those go to crafting ATM. I have small hands and a great big ergonomic keyboard so it's only stuff on the left side I can bind. Thank heavens I've been touch typing for a couple of decades by now. I finally got my healer to fleet and he went into his first PvP at level 13. It was a beautiful day on Alderaan and we ended up taking and holding all three turrets. I put up shockingly good number for heals and objective points (since I capped both our off node and the middle) and another healer and I hung out at mid keeping our team in good form for fending off the others who apparently forgot there were two other nodes. By the time I turned in the Intro to Warzones and the Daily on him he jumped to Level 17 and got a whole host of new stuff to bind!

    A PvP a Day...

If my mediocrity can stick it out, so can you! I started my baby 'slinger yesterday. I've decided to start keybinding, after realizing how much mouse turning really changed the way I play. It's...hard. Clicking is old hat by now and feels so much faster. I feel like I spend all my time looking at the bar watching cooldowns and remembering which key does what. Hopefully starting this guy on binds from day one will help me get used to the layout. It was a far better day for PvP, even on my knight. What kind of fool was I to go in on the day weeklies reset?! We got a solid win on Queshball, with some Jugg powering through everyone to score all 6 to not one second of enemy bally carry. I followed him around at smacked people with my lightsaber when they bothered him, mostly.

    A PvP a Day...

Unfortunately, I'm on Jedi Covenant with this new legacy. I'm discovering that melee is no more my thing in PvP than it is in PvE--I just can't track all that chaos from in the middle and I get panicky trying to target and be useful to the team. I'm much more comfortable staying back and picking people off! Right now I'm leveling a JK and an agent. My agent is by far the more effective player. My absolute favorite on my other legacy, however, is my healer smug so when I get these two topped out I'm going to go for a new one on JC and see how healing in PvP goes. Even my off-heal numbers are pretty good with the agent. Apparently I just can't resist popping those little floaters around my team between shots. I did have a stellar match two days ago. Usually I pipe-sit and guard the goal line on Huttball but I killed the ball carrier right outside the line and ended up with the ball. Mid was a massive pile of explosions and sabers so I just walked down the ramp...all of the way across with no one noticing...and up the other side, behind two people pouring fire into the middle, to score without a single shot fired at me. Then the enemy team turned around and ripped me into tiny pieces. It's crazy stuff like that that keeps me coming back for just one more zone.

    A PvP a Day...

I have to say, this thread (though I'm only halfway through reading it!) has been a fantastic place for someone like me who is just coming to PvP after four-plus years of PvE. The DvL event did this for me, at least. In seeking to get something more than my butt handed to me I wandered into this thread and have found a wealth of info and inspiration. Even my mediocre skills have improved massively just from reading the tips and tricks you folks have all provided here. As a bonus, I'm glad to discover I'm not the only one who can have a great time in a warzone even when we lose. I wanted to post and thank all the people posting here and express my hope that you keep going. [returns to lurker mode]
  5. If they thought it was a scam they woudlnt have put quotation marks around the word.
  6. You don't get to be a galaxy-class smuggler with your own ship by 20. I figure my smugs are in their late 30s at least. Of course, they're now 5 years closer in age to Corso, the little rapscallion. Maybe he won't seem like such a child when they finally get back together. The same goes for my bounty hunters and Torian.
  7. You can just use the blues for that, though. The purple gear doesn't look any different.
  8. I...might also dig Yavin balconies strung with blinky lights.
  9. Candy cane-striped lightsaber crystals and strings of lights for our strongholds!
  10. It's not a glitch--different crew skills make different parts. It's the same with war supplies. You have to level up more characters or buy the pieces you can't make off the GTN. The Strongholds are great for this: you can craft from your legacy storage just like your cargo hold. That means everyone throws in their pieces and you can craft the universals with anyone.
  11. I have throw my support behind following the story at least once before you start KotFE. Ilum and Makeb aren't particularly necessary (though you'll get good XP, especially if you do the heroics), but you really need to run through all of Shadow of Revan before you leap into the new expansion, including Ziost. As a bonus, the 4-flashpoint prelude takes you to a couple of all-new planets!
  12. Only by questing (ops/heroics for crystals) and buying gear from the vendors at Odessan, so far as I know.
  13. It doesn't actually say they're available, just gives you the title, though I suppose it's a reasonable assumption. The rest of them do read, "Coming Soon," which implies that the ones with names have all been released. Sadly, they have not.
  14. Were you on your starter planet? If so, there should be a departures elevator on the fleet (press M to bring up the map) that will take you to the shuttle back to the planet. If you already have your ship you'll have to fly back to wherever you were!
  15. If you have a yellow-black crystal you pre-ordered. Artifice can craft plain colors at pretty low levels and, as mentioned, you can pull them from drops as long as you're not too fussed about the stats. Even with level sync you'll likely be over-leveled for story content so the stat boost isn't too critical if you want a particular look.
  16. Is this the one on Makeb? If so, you'll have to have a partner unless you have ridiculous self-heal and sacrifice. The gas does too much damage to reach all four buttons, and there are more evil rooms to conquer after that.
  17. Is it 50 per character or per lrgacy? I swear I have more than that listed across nine toons!
  18. Have you done the first nine chapters yet? If so you should have quests coming out of your ears on Odessan. These get you crystals and boxes that drop adaptive gear bound to your legacy--perfect for starting an alt!
  19. As an added bonus, if you leveled but didn't finish your companion conversations first those are gone for good, too. You can start a new romance with a new companion but thus far it has been a pop up that says I started one with Theron and then not one more tallk.
  20. You are not missing anything by not having the quest givers. They just gave you a mission to travel to the planet and use the priority terminal to get to the area. It was a waste of time since the terminals take you straight there.
  21. The good news is that it will take you into the beginning of the year to grind out full affection on even one character so at least you'll have plenty to do with the weekly heroics and the Star Fortresses, if you have the first 9 chapters!
  22. It's an expansion to the game so you can take all of your characters through, whether you have 2 or 200. You do have to level existing characters and new ones that aren't insta-60s.
  23. Is there anything about Makeb in your quest log? It does sound like a ticket is going to be your best bet if it's telling you that you have to buy it.
  24. Do you just get a blank screen when you log (no servers listed) or does it not let you in at all?
