  1. Yes I will keep playing. Why? Because the story is fun as hell and I have not even seen the how the other side plays.
  2. My guild just ran FE normal for the first time as well and I was very disappointed to see a lack of anything of value. I have run a few HM's already but wanted to do the story quest. I thought it should have dropped some cool moddable gear or something.
  3. I remember every space mission being just like the one before it, not to say it was bad but it sure was repetitive. I remember having to hit the spacebar so much that I broke it just firing my guns. I remember my crew falling into the world. I remember game breaking bugs PvP hahaha Phaserball is not PvP Me thinks you have rose glasses on. Toon creation was 100x better however.
  4. Stop focusing on exploiting, and start making the zone a fun place to play honestly. +1
  5. Forgive the bad spelling and lack of anything that looks like grammar. Here is a little about me first. I enjoyed wow but was never blown away by it. My wife and I played it for about 6 months before moving on to other games. I never picked it back up but my wife did when cataclysm came out, and then dropped it 2 months later. City of Villains and Pardus are however how I will always compare an MMO, not WoW. I play with my wife side by side so we can see each others screens, I am playing a SW tank and she is a BH DPS. I enjoyed korraban and really fell in love with this whole storyline stuff right there. I decided I was going to play my SW as a Kain knockoff. Arrogant, proud, and unforgiving. My loyalty lies with those who have sworn fealty to me. little things really made this place for me... the honor guards bowing when I walked past for example. D. Kass was my next stop and I got to say the Imperial city was underwhelming. I was expecting something more like Grandville from city of hero's but this feels kinda empty I guess. Still I enjoyed myself tons and sqeed over the Revanite quest chain so hard. My class line was also very very cool. I thought the bounty hunter line was kinda weak but I liked that it had a villein. Next stop was Balmora... I don't know what it is about this place, quest pacing or something but I did not questing in this place at all. I did however do every quest, and just when I thought I was done I get told to head on back to do some more. I do think it is important to point out that I did not think they quests were bad. The ending on the planet quest line was really fun, but the pacing is awful or something. Nar shadaa... was just the fix I needed here. The place looks and feels like I thought it would. the golden hutt and the skimpy outfitted girls splashing in the water all really make this place just feel right. And my quest line felt truly epic here. I also really enjoyed my wife accidentally killing a group of noncombatants and honestly feeling guilty about it. Tatooine was fun and felt right, this was also the first time my wife and I encountered a Gold/white boss outside of a flashpoint. My quest line did sort of make me fell pushed to pick a dark or light path here but it was a minor hiccup that was forgotten by the time I ended the quest line. When I was sent to the listening outpost as part of my class quest I had so much fun... I remember shouting at my computer something along the lines of " I let his people live and this is how he repays me...no more mercy Jedi". other things I really enjoyed were rounding up large groups of Ratguls and running back to my wife who would use death from above on them and take them all out. I really enjoyed watching my wife get her mando boyfriend class quest on. The prison planet was fun but I do wish there was more to that whole Dread Master bit. We wound up just skipping most of Voss. Quest pacing sucked. Sadly my quest storyline took a huge wrong tern that cheapens what could have been a very meaningful and well played part of my story....and then I hit 50. I still have not done any of that last planet and have not finished my quest line yet. Wife is sick so I have to wait so she can see it. I have enjoyed all of the flashpoints with BT and war games topping the ones I love the best. I however have not done them all yet. Directive 7 is next on my list. I honestly can't wait to start my next toon and see all the stuff I missed Overall this has been a huge blast. My PvP experience was a bit different. I really really like Huttball and would make my own team if I could. I remember discovering the lv 40 PvP gear and I really enjoyed unlocking parts of it by playing Huttball. My wife also got a huge kick out of it and we would sneak in games on are lunch breaks to play. I am still running around right now in remodded lv 40 PvP gear. I enjoy the commendations I get on each planet and have used them to patch wholes in my gear as I quest. I do always feel like I am short on money however and I buy almost nothing. just leveling up has made me broke more then a few times. Synthweaving however was a huge disappointment. my wife is always making me stims and healing kits and implants.... I can't even make myself armor let alone anyone else anything useful. I would drop the skill but I feel invested and maybe I can wait it out tell it gets a buff or something. Why can't it at-lest let me make armor mods for my orange armor? I went to Ilum to see what that was like and I found the dailys. I still feel kinda lost here however and like I am mising something important, maybe a flashpoint or a quest chain? I went into the PvP battle zone place and snuck up on a republic owned battle place.... I shot a walker with a RPG and fell in love! I then killed the rest of them and ran away to see if anyone was going to come get me. sadly I did not get anything for it and I am still not sure what the point is. I found a team of 6+ emps patrolling the center warcamp place picking up ammo on the ground and much to my surprise republic and emp troops ignoring each other. they were trying to get some kinda dual going or something... or so I thought anyway. it took me about 30 mins of watching everyone fallowed by 2 hours of running around harvesting any box I can get to before someone else gets to it first to understand that end game PvP gear is NOTHING like the lv 40 PvP gear I knew and loved. With this in mind I don't think I have any interest in partaking in what would really be the first hardcore grind the game has asked of me. Ilum is sadly just not very fun at all but it has such huge potential. I will do the last few flashpoints and try the operation. after that I will try the hard modes but probably just shelve this toon tell the next act comes out for my SW. I have 7 other story's that need playing after all.
  6. I wonder if this is kinda what it was like back with silent films started to make the transition. I need plot. TOR has killed any MMO that can not deliver this level of story to me. I really really like the voice acting and would be hard pressed to go back to textwall.
  7. I honestly thought it already scaled to match the armor of whoever had it on. I was all set to go tanking with my SW.... then I found out the hard truth.
  8. honestly many of the SW masks would look much much better with a hood, however like it was pointed out, even Reven could not sport his hood so it must be really hard to program or something.
  9. Umm we have been getting fixes pretty fast and I have only hit one game stopping bug so far. However when I head over to skyrim I have to save every 30mins and just hope I don't run into any backwards flying dragons, or quests I can't complete.
  10. I have no problem comparing TOR to WoW as they both are today.... but I am really looking forward to comparing them a year or two from now. I love wow, and they have some really great things going for them that TOR can't match yet... but TOR is the sexy new car and my old one is really starting to show its age... also the voice acting is a huge selling point for me.
  11. Yah his explanation was very lacking. I have seen honest good reviews on why someone was unhappy with the game, I did not feel he same way but I understood. This however feels shallow and not very well thought out. I also could care less about his credentials.
  12. the thing is people don't care about whats real, they care about perception and the simple fact is that body type 4 is just not associated with power and he sure as hell is not sexy.
  13. I loved him. I remember saying that if anyone could kill me it would be him. My Siths personality however would never stand for such a betrayal. The story is less for him being alive right now in my game.....but at least I am not the Bounty Hunter with there pet crew mate Skag or whatever his name is.
  14. This. I love the guys voice and I love his story. I do not like body type 4 myself as I find the idea of a sith being defeated by a set of stairs depressing but out of everyone he works it the best.
  15. Looking like a clown with red boots, purple robes, and a yellow hat was not the correct answer. The correct answer was to have a more diverse armor skin selection in the first place. They should reinstate the color match and make skin selection I higher priority... no one is buying the whole "but this one is kinda more blue so it is different" line of thought anyway.
  16. Samuel L Jackson would mop the floor with him. In all nerd honesty when your superpower is all out defense tell you make a mistake and I cut off your limbs it is going to be hard to find someone who can take you on. Vader has raw power and aggression but attacks create openings and we saw how this played out already. the secrete to beating someone who has maxed out there armor class with dex is easy however, you make them flatfooted. Obi's style relays on defensive work and timing... but an attack that uses subtlety and obfuscation is going to rip such a tactic apart and having the edge in force power hardly hurts. I give you your winner.... Count Dooku an example of his pure @sskicking power. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLXYDl_9tOE
  17. I is no doubt just my fanon but I always assumed the point of the Jedi code was to not understand it and debate it from other points of view. Anyway you can't write a story about breed slaves and not stop and think that the situation is more then a little messed up on the Jedi's end. It important to understand that each writer is telling a starwars story in a whole new world with different rules. In Bob's starwars book Luke can rebuild castles and destroy star destroyers with a simple thought... but in Tom's book Luke damn near meets his end to a simple thug with an axe. In karen Traviss's world Batman is the better hero and can take Superman in a fight... in Bob's world superman is the moral bastion and the only way Batman won that one time is because Superman was tripping over himself trying to take it easy and not acidintly kill Batman in one of the dozen opportunity's he had in the fight. The only form of canon that has any meaning is fanon.... and Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy.
  18. ...but I like Jawa's. I don't really think they are trolls as I am sure they atlest think they mean what they say. But I do think there is something kinda like a meme going on here with the hate. kinda like in highschool when something became popular making it also popular to hate. You have to admit the BW did a great job on the hype.... maybe this is a meme backlash I think.
  19. Are you sure he does not speak Mando's? I am pretty sure he can.
  20. My wife quotes bits and phrases in the mando language when we pen and paper RP. She had a nerdgasm when playing a BH in TOR when she picked up her mando companion and he started speaking mando at her.
  21. Yah honestly having just looked at some of those reviews and how many 0/10 it has. I think it is safe to say this game has a LOT of hate and that hate has become something of a meme. Something all the cool kids do if you will.
  22. Yes. I have some gripes here and there. Mostly with ugly and lack of options with armor. I would also like some more flashy epic feeling powers. I simply could not go back to playing a MMO without story now. I do however have some fears that the engine they are using has limitations that will really hurt the game down the road. However I wont stress it tell It is a real issue and not just "the sky is falling" kinda thing I don't really understand anyway.
  23. The RC books are pretty good if your looking for a non-jedi centric tale. My wife loves them and pretty much everything I know about mando's comes from her books. however you have to understand that her mando's are the stars in her starwars, not the jedi.... and the Jedi really look like d*cks with that whole "slave army" thing. All and all it was a good fun read but for my books of choice you really can't get any better then Zahn's work and this really should be the first and only thing you read.
  24. I find it bothering that you so easily ignore even the possibility of female sexuality and assume that any "sexy" outfits on the men must be homosexual themes... I also find your fear that anything that might somehow have "homosexual themes" is going to bite you or something funny as hell. Protip~ Stop caring so much about what someone who is gay might find attractive....unless your looking to pick someone up I like the armor the OP linked and would put it on my toon when PvPing. Also if women want some beefcake to go along with my cheesecake then I am cool with that. Anyway something I want to toss out that means nothing really but. Of all the people in real life I know playing. Only the women have made toons just to run around in that armor.
