  1. They went wrong when they screwed up the end-game and the balance of Imperiai and Republic. If you were here at the start you should remember the Ilum massacres that occurred every day. Most Imperials reached Battlemaster in a matter of a few hours slaughtering Republicans meaning PvP balance got thrown way out of proportion, 90% of the Imps were in Battlemaster gear wrecking everyone and the Republics had everyone stuck in some Champion gear. Gear was major luck based. The most annoying thing ever. You would grind for hours to get enough commendations for a Lockbox, open it and voila a piece of gear you have or do not need and there's nothing you can do about it. If you looked at my cargo hold you would see about 4 sets of Champion Gear and Battlemaster Gear which is what I had to go through just to get the 1 set of Battlemaster Gear I needed. Operations and Flashpoints got boring. Fast. They were full of bugs and again the luck based drops was atrocious. Their final grave digger was the fact that they flipped endgear on its head. Got rid of The tionese, the columi the Rakata the Recruit, Champion, Battlemaster gear. Everything that players from the start were used to and they get rid of it all and mash together some new gear (which is all ugly as hell and all looks the same for both pve and pvp). They also made Battlemaster gear redundant, the gear most of us spent hundreds of hours to obtain by releasing that stupid expertise bolster update and this majorly puts anyone off from trying it again after being away for a while. - I know from personal experience, you can't get back into SWTOR if you played the first few months and come back now, not without MAJOR dedication which only the 1% will be willing to put in.
  2. I say turn it into a continuous stream of force energy.
  3. I just realised something even worse. Gear looks the same for both PvP and PvE for the same tier. How it was. http://www.jedicodex.com/wp-content/uploads/rakata_master.jpg - Rakata Force-Master Gear for DPS Sage. http://www.jedicodex.com/wp-content/uploads/battlemaster_master.jpg - Battlemaster Force-Master Gear for DPS Sage. http://www.jedicodex.com/wp-content/uploads/rakata_stalker.jpg - Rakata Stalker Gear for DPS Shadow. http://www.oldrepublic.net/content/attachments/1650d1332163202-%5Bfemale%5D-bm-stalkers.jpg/ - Battlemaster Stalker Gear for DPS Shadow. (Compare Rakata Force-Master to Rakata Stalker and Battlemaster Force-Master to Battlemaster Stalker) It all looks different, but now all tiers of PvE look like the same as the equivalent tiers of PvP, and advance class gear for each base class looks the same (e.g - Shadow gear looks identical to Sage gear). It's ridiculous, just so they can get a few extra $ in their pocket from people buying half-decent looking gear on the Kartel Market and from Dye's There is only one way to fix this. 1) Make PvP gear and PvE gear look different from one another even at the same tier. - Also make them have different colour schemes/slight differences dependant upon the advanced class the gear is suited for. (e.g Stalker and Survivor gear (Shadow) looks different to Force-master and Force-Mystic.(Sage)) 2) Improve the aesthetic visuals of endgame gear. 3) Simplify the way you gear up. 4) Make recolours in game cash and cheap. Why the hell would Dye cost anything in a universe with giant robots and spaceships? 5) Make all customizable gear into adaptive gear.
  4. 99% of people dislike 99% of the end-game gear.
  5. Using Cartel Coins shouldn't be necessary for a good looking character. It's obvious what BioWare are doing. They removed the awesome looking gear from the game. The old Columi, Rakata, Battlemaster etc... Most of which looked good! (even the Sage PvP gear was nice) and instead replaced them with ugly gear, and repurposed the gear they removed to the Cartel Market. On the Cartel Market there is lots of gear that closely resembles gear removed from the game. They also use very bland colours and colours that do not go well so people purchase Dye with Cartel Coins, and they are doing it so obviously that it just makes me not want to play. Ugly end-game gear was an issue with most people and is why a lot of people quit in the first place. But the new end-game gear is horrific. I've looked at many messege boards, lots of forums and websites. I'd say 8/10 people dislike 90% of all the end-game gear. and the other 2/10 like around 50% of the Imperial gear.
  6. I think you should be able to faction change once you complete your class story fully. But also your alignment must be either full good or full bad. Example: A Bounty Hunter wishes to transfer to the Republic Fleet to pursue one of their contract targets. To do this the Bounty Hunter must have finished their class story completely, and also be full good alignment to be allowed access to the republic, when they arrive they are then outfitted in the equivalent Republic gear to what they are already wearing. Example #2: A Jedi Sage wishes to transfer to Korriban to pursue the ways of the dark side. They have finished their class story and they are fully evil alignment and are thus granted access to the imperial side, again the sage then changes their outfit to the equivalent Imperial gear.
  7. I just want to see some good looking gear at the elder-game vendors. Not brown rags/robes and weird shaped clothing. I guess it's hard to make robes look good though. Unless it's Sith robes.
  8. You're right, the look of gear is based solely on opinion, but I am much less than satisfied, personally, and many seem to be of a like mind. It's just pretty depressing seeing all this cool gear on every other class, and I just had to pick the class with (in my opinion) the worst looking gear of the bunch.
  9. All I've looked at are the level 55 vendors for all tiers of gear PvE and PvP. If the armour you're talking about isn't in those vendors I haven't seen it, and if it is in any of those vendors it doesn't look pretty good.
  10. I like the look of that first set for a good Sage, the second set looks cool too, just not for my character. At the moment I'm ripping all the mods out of my Battlemaster gear (thank god I still have it) and replacing them with the Makeb mods.
  11. Seriously... I come back after a year away and I come back to all this shiny new gear. So I go and take a look at the Sage gear as I'm a level 50 sage. After seeing all the awesome looking armour on the Imperial side and some cool looking Republic gear (that's a surprise) I had my hopes up that Sage gear was going to be awesome too but alas it was gimped again. If anyone remembers Columi and Rakata Gear for Sages (Fan Head). To my utter dissapointment. Catastrophe, gear that looks worse than the fan head. Brown robes everywhere, weird shapes all over the place, horrible disgusting. I put a 1,000,000 credit bounty on some good looking Sage gear. Nobody found any. Whoever is designing Sage gear or Republic gear in general, please get your act together! WE DON'T WANT UGLY BROWN ROBES ALL THE TIME! OR GIANT FAN HEADS! OR WEIRD HALF FACE MASK THINGs! Please someone just go and look at the Classic, Basic, Elite, Ultimate and EVERYTHING ELSE gear for Sage's and come back and tell me it's not all ugly as hell. PLEASE THIS IS A CRY FOR HELP! TL;DR Stop making Sage gear look ugly and ridiculous all at the same time, thank you.
  12. Done, and it was the worst and least rewarding grind I've ever done.
  13. Although so many people have already said it but I'm gonna say it too. The end game is boring and repetitive and becomes unnecessary very fast, especially the Hard mode flashpoints, once you have the set gear piece from a HMFP then it's 100% unnecessary to do that Flashpoint ever again. It begins to feel like a day job doing dailys. That's the best way to describe the end game. A boring day job. You're also going to hate PvP once you reach level 50, unless you like doing 0 damage against the squishiest classes and getting KOd in a few hits by healers. But good luck
  14. Who wouldn't think that? If they remove those you can no longer cap the base... that's the dumbest **** I've ever heard even from bioware. Also the fact it says "two of the turrets" implies that there are more than 2 turrets also a lot of other people believe it's the personal cannons, I think you're on your own believing it's the two large capping turrets.
  15. I suggest you get down off your high horse because you completely misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying it's not fair on the republicans if bioware removes 2 of their turrets as they are already out matched, it's like chopping the leg off a man with only one leg.
  16. Sounds pretty comparable to a mercenary. TRACER MISSILE TRACER MISSILE.
  17. I don't agree with DoTs not interrupting actions in Warzones. DoTs can be healed by abilities from quite a few classes. Let's see you try slicing a turret or planting a bomb while having your mind crushed.
  18. Ahh more of biowares infamous "We like imperials better than republicans" attitude. Do they not realise that the only thing keeping republic slightly competitive on ilum is the fact they have these turrets? Lol so much fail.
  19. I still enjoyed the game, although all your points are very valid. The game is now just disappointing and almost depressing to play.
  20. It most definitely wont go f2p, EA are too much of a scumbag company to give something for free but once they see it's not making the profit they hoped they will pull it completely. And the game is definitely dying. My server which has dropped from very heavy almost all the time throughout the day is now light-medium most of the time (Even around midday and 6pm) There is literally nothing to do once you reach 50 which doesn't take long. My guild has disbanded which had a lot of people simply because of how boring it has become and the lack of content they don't even come on to do dailys anymore and I don't either really. My friend who has waited for this game for many years quit at level 50 because of the crappy pvp and lack of content (and he was the one who got me playing in the first place.) Sure once you're 50 you unlock Hard mode flashpoints, (which become pointless once you get the columi gear from it which takes 2 or 3 runs depending on luck etc) Raids, (Again on normal mode which most will be doing (Or not because a lot of people don't have a guild that raids or not in a guild at all) it's pointless as you're more likely to get gear you need from Hard mode flashpoints which is faster and easier) 50 bracket pvp. (Prepare to get the living s*** kicked out of you if you've just reached level 50 (my TANK spec Powertech in the 40 pvp gear got like 3 to 5 hit KO'd when I started in the 50 bracket. Similarly I was 1v1 with a mercenary also in lvl 40 pvp gear while I was on my Battle master sage and the amount of damage he was doing was laughable, he didn't even get my weak sage shield down before I killed him in a couple hits after sitting there for 10 seconds laughing while he hit me with feeble tracer missiles.) After a week or so it all just feels pointless are repetitive and you don't see many rewards for your efforts. Champion gear takes the piss to get now, 5 days doing the daily quests per 1 champion set piece or about 12 days for the main hand. You will log on, pick up 2 quests go to ilum kill some people, go grind through 3 warzone wins, if you're republic I hope you like losing, if you're imperial you better like huttball. Then once those 2 quests are done you pick up 2 champion bags with 7 champion comms and 15 centurion in. (If you're a new 50 even in centurion you will get the crap kicked out of you because everyone already got full champ and/or Battlemaster gear) SWTOR has now become a day job, your working hours are 12pm-4pm (hours are subject to change depending on how lucky you are.) At a rate of 15 centurion and 7 champion commendations for 4 hours work per day or 1 champion item per week. This excludes Champion Main hand. These are my opinions and feelings on the matter based on playing both these characters, so eveything I've talked about I have experienced. Republic Sage level 50, Valor 62, full battlemaster. (Became a level 50 before the bag update when champion was still moderately hard to get) Imperial Powertech level 50, Valor 48, Full Centurion, 2 champion pieces. (Became level 50 AFTER the bag update making champion gear a pain in the *** to get). ...it was great while it lasted tl;dr At level 50, boring, repetitive, don't see many rewards for the amount of effort you put in, lack of interesting content to keep you playing, unfair PVP for new 50's which puts a lot of them off playing. Feels like a crappy day job doing daily quests, heavily gear based, gear takes too long to get, most classes require minimal skill to play and do well with, (I'm looking at you Mercs and Operatives and sorcs.)
  21. Nobody should be able to complain about mercs if they play one. There DPS is ridiculously high from range you have HEAVY armour for good survivability you can sustain your DPS and you have the choice of healing you have everything that most classes lack atleast 1 of. Sorcs - Comparable DPS, Comparable healing, crap survivability. Snipers - comparable DPS crap survivability no healing, juggernauts - medium DPS, good survivability, no healing. Mercs Great DPS, good survivability, Great healing - if specd into healing ofcourse BHs get the whole package.
  22. When they come out of stealth and stun you, use your CC breaker, stun them in return and run like hell, pop any long defensive CDs you have and snares to slow them down and just keep on running! Push backs help too. If you want to stand and fight, push back to start, then stun. Tracer missile spam, snare, run away tracer missile spam when they get close pop any defensive CDs you have use your other abilities heat seeker missile and all that crap unload etc I believe unload can be specd to lower movement speed too. Basically just keep your distance and keep them in front of you if possible, snares push backs and release everything you got on them. When they stealth put a scan beneath you but slightly behind you and be prepared to turn around fast. If they don't try to attack and instead ran away, think yourself lucky.
  23. But I want something to keep me playing and paying each month! If there is no fun end game it shouldn't have been subscription based in the first place as you can reach 50 in a week and have the story done with (If you're a lonely no life like me) . >_<
  24. I'm neither a fan boy nor a hater. I wasn't interested in the game at all until a friend made me play the open beta and I LOVED IT SO MUCH, was totally excited for it. I really enjoyed playing the game it was very fun, being level 50 was good too. But once you've done a few raids and the HMFPs grinding your way to 60 valor (which I have) getting good gear all in the space of a couple weeks it gets old real fast. But I still like the game no matter how boring. And just to mention there was also no excitement when I reached level 50 for a second time on a completely different class because I knew what boredom was awaiting me. Feels more like a day job playing the game now with all these daily quests that yield chance rewards. But that's just my opinion. I'm sure lots of content will come in the future.
  25. WARNING HUGE WALL OF TEXT INCOMING I think... If a new tier of gear was to be released a lot more content (not just pvp) and probably higher cap level would also have to be introduced because at the moment there is a lot of gear to get and not a lot of content which makes the whole thing boring and repetitive just like a day job AKA Daily quests, as it stands I really dislike PvP even though I am a Battlemaster, Valor 61 (and no I'm not an imperial that took part in the ilum massacre) I'm a sage who worked hard for it. Not getting a BM token in a whole week is gut wrenching and even the BM gear isn't that much of an increase from champion. Having just got a new powertech to lvl 50 I'm hating it even more, although it's a well geared tank spec for a new level 50 I still get absolutely owned in a couple hits simply because PvP lvl 40 gear with purple mid 40 mods which is a lot better than most go in with is in comparison like 'Average new 50 gear' < whale poop < centurion <<<<<<<<< champion < battlemaster. It's also a lot harder to get champion gear now after the bag update requiring about TEN, yes TEN bags OR FIVE WORKING DAYS for ONE, yes ONE set piece of champion OR AROUND SIXTY WORKING DAYS TO GET IT ALL along with a 5% chance of getting a champion token, or FIVE tokens out of ONE HUNDRED BAGS for those bad at maths and even then if you have 1 or two champion pieces you might get a duplicate token from that 5% chance. That said it's easier to get centurion. But 99% of people in PvP have quite a bit of champion gear and Battlemaster already which is much better than centurion (having obtained it before the bag update making it ridiculously hard to get), not to mention the ridiculous amount of Battlemaster imps out there. WHAT CAN BE DONE? I think centurion should require level 20 valor, champion level 40 valor and Battlemaster as it is at 60. In addition the differences between the armour should be changed. As it stands Champion is much better than centurion, and battlemaster (THE HARDEST DAMN GEAR TO GET) is a pathetic increase from champion stat-wise. The difference between centurion and champion now, should be the difference between champion and battlemaster (larger increase because it's much harder to get). The small difference between champion and BM should be the difference between centurion and champion (Making it fairer* on new 50's coming in with pieces of centurion against the masses in champion and getting massacred by the stat difference) I also think a good idea is that PvP brackets should be introduced for LEVEL 50 ONLY <50 can stay how it is. Level 50 20-39 valor, 40-59 and 60+ that being said 60+ and maybe even 40-59 brackets will be lacking in players because there isn't 'that' many of them at the moment. Which seems to be the only problem. (If a level 50 goes in for PvP with lower than 20 valor they will be put with sub level 50's but there stats will be decreased to that of a level 49 just like the rest of them are buffed to that level. I made this rule simply because there won't be many sub valor rank 20's at level 50 so being sub level 20 valor at 50 will make it VERY hard to get into a WZ.) (if there is lots make a lvl 50 valor 1-19 bracket) BAGS. Introduce centurion bags with 15 centurion commendations and a 10% chance of a centurion token. (A token can be turned in for 1 SET PIECE of gear (this DIScludes main hand, off hand belt, bracers etc.) Requires level 20+ valor can be chosen as a daily reward from daily pvp quests. The weekly will give you 3 centurion bags @ valor 20-39. Introduce champion bags with 15 champion commendations and a 10% chance of a champion token. (A token can be turned in for 1 SET PIECE of gear (this DIScludes main hand, off hand belt, bracers etc.) Requires level 40 valor can be chosen as a daily reward from daily pvp quests from a choice of a centurion bag or a champion bag. The weekly will give you 2 champion bags and a choice of a centurion bags or a champion bag. If you're valor 40-59. (Reduce the cost of champion gear bought with tokens so it matches centurion OR rise centurion price slightly and lower champion prices slightly, as it stands champion set pieces are about 67 comms and centurion is like 39 and the bags you get give less champ comms than centurion it's basicaly 200% harder to get champion now.) Introduce battlemaster bags with a 25% chance of getting a battlemaster token. Received from daily pvp quests from a choice of a centurion, champion or battlemaster bag. The weekly will provide 2 battlemaster bags with a choice of a centurion, champion or battlemaster bag. If you're valor 60+ (you may ask why have the choice of a lower grade bag, and it's simply so you can still obtain the lower end gear (for companions or for collection purposes) it's so when you're not completely cut off from getting that gear if you so choose once you're out of the valor bracket that daily/weeklys reward those bags for.) TL:DR Introduce PvP brackets 20-39 valor 40-59, 60+ ONLY for lvl 50's Make 3 bags, centurion (15 cent comms 10% chance of cent tokn), champion (15 champ comms 10% chance of champ token), BM (25% chance of BM token) requiring 20-39, 40-59, and 60+ valor to obtain, have dailys/weeklys reward bags based on your valor eg 20-39 gives you centurion bags 40-59 gives champion etc. weeklys give 2 bags for your current valor e.g if you're valor 40-59 you get 2 champ bags with a choice of another champ or centurion bag. Or 60+ valor gets you 2 BM bags with a choice of 1 of any of the 3 bags. (Not the current 2 champ bags with a choice of a BM bag that weeklys reward) Change the stat differences from the 3 tiers so BM is much better than champion and centurion isn't much worse than champion. (Makes it more fair on new 50's not being totally outclassed 'as much' by the masses in Champ, also makes getting BM worthwhile.) bring down price of champion gear bought with comms to match centurion or rise centurion slightly and lower champion slightly. More Warzones and more fun pl0x!
