  1. When you close the Launcher brwc.exe disappears from processes.

Unless it doesn't, and then when you start the launcher again BitRaider doesn't work. And I didn't even see your comment when I posted mine, so I really don't know why you're so upset that I tried to help someone else.

  2. From my experience, with a little too much lag or latency you can easily get hit by an Orbital even when following mechanics, especially if you don't have any leap or speed boost. I don't think damage should get nerfed, but I do think extending the window between the orbital aoe appearing and the actual hit itself by about 0.5 seconds could help.

For now the workaround we've been doing is running back down the stairs all the way behind the barricades as soon as the adds appear. They stay up there with their shields, you wait about a minute for the boss's shield to drop, and they come running to you and you can easily aoe them at the top of the stairs.

  3. A grind does not make a game more intelligent or interesting, it just makes it longer.

More clicks in a talent tree does not mean you have more real choice than with a discipline path.

More time spent does not equal greater difficulty or more challenging content.

What mmo companies have been doing is streamlining experiences and removing clutter

    QFT.

Streamlining and dumbing down are not the same thing. Most of what people call dumbing down is just streamlining. And I really don't understand why having to spend months on a freakin' video game to make any substantial progress is somehow a good thing. Even without considering the fact that real life is a thing that requires time and money, there are so many other games out there to play, I don't want any of them to be a black hole that sucks all my free time away.

  4. We had that yesterday. First we killed them both at the same time, so no second phase. We were somehow able to leave the instance and go back in to find the escape pod clickable and proceed to the next phase and complete it, but no loot and fortunately no lockout either.

Then killed the bird too quickly or something, and she enraged, killed all of us and started attacking the escape pod.

Third try we got the bird to somewhere between 5-10%, and then took Coratanni down to about 19%, thinking that that is the trigger for phase two. Nothing happened. We stopped DPS on both, then slowly took Coratanni down some more. At somewhere under 10% she switched to the next phase and from there it was smooth sailing.

And yeah, the cone AoE's did not happen.

  5. Just to chime in on the "hand-picking brown-nosers for testing" nonsense: First of all, by your own logic, you can't assert that they did not select a wide range of players without proof. Secondly, I'm a filthy casual, I probably even said that before on these forums if you feel like digging through my past comments, and I was in the closed PTS. No other guildies with me, just a random email from BioWare. So sit yo *** down with your conspiracy theories.
  6. +1

Even though legacy names aren't unique, I'm fairly confident that the game has a way to uniquely identify legacies under the hood. Use that to do the ignore checks rather than the character name. This under the hood handle obviously needn't and shouldn't be visible to either player.

  7. ( i wonder if anyone has finished a PUG GF of the new Ops))

Yes. Ravagers. 12 guildies and 4 pugs. Not a full pug group, but I personally wouldn't solo-queue for ops even before 3.0. And as more people get to run and learn the new ops, they will be less awful to pug for. And we'll get more content in time. SoR is brand new, don't forget that.

  8. Actually, I felt that this was the opposite since it was no longer that you would be overleveled/overgeated for content. It would force you to play better or die lotz.

I brought that up as a possible outcome of 12x that could potentially negatively affect OP's experience in the game. I'm not saying every toon that was leveled with 12x is terribad.

(And I was insanely overleveled during 12x, and my older alts provided gear for my new ones, so results may vary, I guess. They were all mirrors of classes I already had on the opposite faction, so I didn't really care about "learning" them.)

  9. I only have one toon with Diplomacy for two toons with biochem, and I still managed to craft stims, adrenals, implants, and medpacks for all of my 13 characters without buying any mats on the GTN. It sounds to me like the problem is mostly your priorities, not the drop rates or the new system for purples.
  10. The more you pander to the desires of the lesser players the more dedicated players will slip through your fingers....

    My list of gripes

    -12x xp

    -free 192 companion gear

    -Free skills training

-Derping datacron hunting to make it time based best camper wins (jumping was fun)

    -Bolster

-Pvp match making -faster ques < enjoyable match

-The pandering to the forum requests to make the game easy mode.

Edit: while i don't mind adding more casual content for casual players the game should not be changed fir the sole purpose of accomindating the ones complaining. It seems like the sqeaky wheel gets the oil.

    1. This affects you in only 2 possible ways: the occasional "victim" of 12x that doesn't know how to play their class, or forcing you to do non-class quests if you wanted to avoid the XP bonus while leveling. The first problem will go away either because those people will learn to play their class, or because they stop doing HM/NIM content because they suck at it. The second problem is only relevant if they ever bring 12x back, and it's safe to assume they'll implement a toggle for it given the feedback on the forums and them saying that was their intention to begin with. So this amounts to you whining about other people playing the game differently than you.
    2. Don't want it? Don't use it. It's not PC gear, it's companion gear. You can still gear your companions the old-fashioned way if you so desire. It does not affect your experience of the game. Oh, you once had to work hard for these things? People once had to go outside and pump water out of a well, does that mean we shouldn't have running tap water in our homes? So this amounts to you whining about other people playing the game differently than you.
    3. You have more money to spend on more substanial things. How is that bad for anyone?
    4. Did they go back and "derp" all the old datacrons? No, they just added a new one that takes a different kind of challenge to obtain. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, just like other players don't have to get the "platformer datacrons" if they don't want to. So this amounts to you whining about other people playing the game differently than you.
    5. You're gonna have to elaborate on that, because that's not a gripe, that's a single word with no context.
    6. I avoid PVP like the plague, so no comment on that...
    7. If you're talking about making storymode ops relevant for people other than the most hardcore, as they should be, then this is another pointless comment. In general, I don't see them "pandering" to anyone, and I don't see them nerfing HM and NIM content too much. You can still play your game the way you enjoy it, but now others can as well. So this amounts to you whining about other people playing the game differently than you.

By all means, voice your opinions. But for the love of god, spare us the infantile whining about the game catering to people other than yourself while not hampering the way you play the game in any way whatsoever. There are other people in the world, learn to respect them.

  11. Bringing this back up to say yes, please!

Most of my toons have unconventional characters in their names (á,é,ñ, etc.) because the names I wanted were taken and I didn't want to change the spelling. I don't have a numpad on my laptop, so the only way for me to mail things cross-faction to one of my toons like Khána is to copy/paste the offending letter.

Please just add legacy toons to the dropdown. It would make life so much easier.

    ^This.
