  1. This is the exact opposite of what you should be doing if you hope to retain your veteran players. I don't even see how new players "need" this event; It's just new rewards for content a lot of them are going to play anyway. The class stories, the leveling process, and the new player experience in general are good enough as they are. What this game needs is fresh content, new things to do, not new reasons to do the old content yet again. The only reason I'm still subscribed to the game is hope. Hope that KotFE, by the end of it, will deliver on its promises. Hope that once you're done with these miniature chapters you'll go back to releasing proper group PvE content. Not hope for more reasons to play content I've been bored with a long time ago, because I've played it so many goddamn times. If you want to show your loyal veteran players that you care about us and appreciate our participation (and our monthly sub fee!) then when you roll out an event like this, you should make at least goals like maxing out all 8 classes or maxing out both Light side and Dark side retroactive. And the rewards should all be bound to Legacy, that goes without saying.
  2. This is a cool addition, but like many others have said already, unless you add a weapon slot to the outfit designer, I probably won't end up using this feature. While we're on the subject of having weapons in outfit designer, I would also like to suggest that we should be able to stamp the same weapon with different color crystals on different outfits. Like dyes work currently for armor pieces. Thanks for reading!
  3. I'm not as angry as some are about BW's communication in recent months, but I *am* concerned about it. They seem to always be using a lot of words to say very little concrete things. They only talk in abstracts and superlatives. Serioulsy, it's *this* close to being one of those Donald Trump answer memes, where he blabbers on without actually saying anything, completely ignoring the question. I don't need dates and deadlines, those tend to get pushed anyway. What I do need is something along the lines of "Our plan is to focus on single-player episodic content for the next few months, after which we will shift our focus to other PvE content" or "We have a vision for this game's future and it is, in general terms, XYZ". What I really DON'T need are words like "incredible", "exciting", "amazing", or "cool". These are all subjective terms, and are therefore useless.
  4. Here, have a cookie from me. For a lot of what you said, but mostly for the Princess Bride reference!
  5. A lot has already been said here and I don't want to be too redundant, but I'm compelled to at least add my two cents about this. This open letter is appreciated, but as far as I'm concerned, with any game, I'll believe it when I see (and play) it. Don't tell me that the changes you've made are awesome or that the content you have planned is amazing. It means literally nothing. I form my opinion on the game by playing it, not by reading about it or hearing about it in livestreams. And that evidently needs to be said, because you really screwed the pooch on endgame PvE with this expansion, so don't try and tell me it's been incredible. You meant to lower the barrier for entry, but instead you removed it completely. With the bolster on SM and all of them being available at level 50, the whole concept of gearing up for ops is moot. Heck, the only reason I even play Ilum anymore is because I can't abandon that damn quest, I'm usually level 60+ by the time I get there anyway. I've seen so many new players who don't even know that they have no idea what they're doing, because there isn't even an iota of challenge to the leveling and early-endgame process. Having ops like EV and KP drop the same tier of gear as Rav and ToS is ludicrous. By bringing all the ops to the same level in terms of drops, or gear and level requirement, you've only made the more mechanically challenging ops nearly irrelevant, because you can get that same gear much more easily, so why bother? There's nothing to work up to. With the priority HM ops it becomes a sort of race, once one of the easier ones is on priority, to do as many runs with as many alts as possible, until I'm sick of it, but that's the only ops that any groups are forming for. Running flashpoints has become entirely pointless, even if you can get a group the rewards are garbage. Even the Star Fortresses got very old very quickly. At least before you could fall back on some solo story content on an alt or something, but with SoR and KotFE everything plays out exactly the same for every class, give or take the ability to skip a tedious quest (*cough*Qyzen*cough*). I don't know, you may yet live up to the promise of "meaningful choices that matter", but all I can think of is a certain choice made outside the Gravestone that appeared to be very conflicting, but ended up playing out the same either way. The story of KotFE is fine, I'm enjoying it, but it did not blow me away at all. At least for me it ends up being nothing more than an hour or two on my main every month, and I'm no longer sure that that's enough to keep me subscribed. The branching story and the unique class experiences are what set this game apart, and it's not there anymore. I still love this game, and I still recommend it to people, if only for the amazing 1-50 experience and for the chance to play it with friends. But the feeling I'm getting is that the dev team is simply too small to give this game what it needs. I bet you're sick and tired of this comparison, but I just renewed my WoW sub. There is a LOT of stuff I don't like at all about WoW, but at least it keeps giving me stuff to do. SWTOR doesn't, not any more.
  6. Same here (Republic side, Red Eclipse server)
  7. torocast! *insert slowpoke meme here*
  8. It's a good change, and kudos on communicating the logic behind the change and the reason for its delay well. But I'm afraid it might be too little too late, especially if we don't get any new raiding content very soon. Need I remind you that we haven't had any new ops since early December 2014? And no, Monolith doesn't count, it's just one boss. Also, while we're on the subject of gearing and raiding, I think you need to either remove the bolster from SM ops or stop talking about and designing for "gearing up towards SM operations". There's absolutely no need to gear up for SM ops. Once I hit level 50 I can queue into any ops with the ****** green modifications from the old planetary mod vendors and carry my own weight just fine. Any gear below 216 is already obsolete/redundant/unnecessary/whatever. I really don't understand why you bother with that range of gear at all anymore, in terms of designing content.
  9. Considering the state of pugs since 4.0, for the sake of endgame content, we really need something to help new players learn to engage endgame enemies properly. I mean, seriously, wiping on Gharj in SM? With Bolster?! How do people even manage to do that?
  10. I just want to make sure we're on the same page here. As a player who regularly runs ops on multiple alts and doesn't even bother at all with 208\216 comms gear any more, this content is of no interest to me. I'll play it once for the story and to see what it's like, but that's probably it. I'm fine with that, especially if I'm not the kind of player this content is aimed at. But I think it's a bit of a wasted opportunity. I won't grind through the same fights again and again, no matter how enjoyable they are, merely for the chance to get a pet drop. But if I could spend those "arena tokens" on cool mounts, new cosmetic gear, or even - dare I say it - new legacy-bound weapons and off-hands, then I can see myself actually going back and running these every week. Assuming the fights are actually fun to do, of course.
  11. Hi there, We were doing KP HM 8m today, while Sorno was up on the arches, Jarg jumped to the tank that was on Sorno. We then killed Jarg while he was up, and then Sorno after he got back down to the center. Since Jarg is the one that drops the loot and none of us were up there with him, we got no loot from that boss. Just thought you should be aware of this corner case. Screenshot. (Just in case you feel like compensating us, we are on The Red Eclipse, and all our names are in the screenshot, on the left )
  12. Pretty self-explanatory. Now that we have a lot more companions, finding the best ones to craft with is a bit of a hassle. It would also be nice to see how many companions we can still send in missions. "Companions Available: 4/6", something like that.
  13. When respecing from tank to vigil I have to go see a trainer to get Sundering Strike. When respecing from vigil to tank I have to go see a trainer to get Force Sweep. Every time.
  14. I think you mean retroactively. I don't see how recursion would play into this, but maybe I'm just not creative enough...
  15. You can see Musco having no trouble with a heroic on Dromund Kaas on their latest Twitch stream. Since you keep stuff like set bonuses and all the abilities and passive upgrades you pick up along the way, you're still stronger than you'd normally be at that level.
  16. It's a different purple, kinda glowy. You can see them in their latest twitch stream.
  17. I just came here to ask about those. Will the heroic missions in Section X or the Shroud questchain finally be soloable/duoable?
  18. I don't know if it's been brought up already because this is 10 goddamn pages, but my republic guild and I have been banging our heads against UL many times this past week, even on well geared mains with whom we've cleared Lurker many times before, while on the imperial side I've done ToS twice, on 2 different characters, with 2 different groups, without a hitch. Maybe there's a difference between the two factions' versions of the ops?
  19. Honestly, I'm surprised it took so long for a post like this to come up. Maybe I'm just naive but what I've been seeing from the devs ever since the closed PTS for 3.0 was an honest and genuine effort to understand the wants and needs of the players, to get feedback so they can iterate on their ideas and implementation, and at the end of the day make SWTOR a better game for us, the players. And almost all they've been getting in return are a bunch of spoiled brats yelling at their parents for getting them the wrong toy for Christmas. I'm sorry it had to get to the point of harassment before the devs started putting the trolls in their place.
  20. At the moment, the only place to get legacy-bound off-hand weapons is through the Relics of the Gree event, which occurs once in a blue moon. I believe that adding off-hand weapons to the bounty contract vendors for the monthly Bounty Contract event would both be a great source of legacy-bound offhands and a way to renew interest in the event for players who have already gotten everything they wanted out of it (which I'm guessing is mostly the Bounty Tracker hat ).
  21. I have to say, while I'm generally in favor of delaying content rather than releasing it broken, it seems to me like a very questionable choice to delay things like class balance updates, severe bug fixes, and FP and OPS difficulty and loot adjustments because of a minor graphical glitch that only affects a portion of the player base.
