  1. There are a sum total of three changes I like with 7.0:

    1) Being able to play a different class in an existing story.

    2) Weapons being added to costume designer.

    3) The tagging changes.

As someone with the Collector's Edition that's played since release, a long time subscriber, I absolutely HATE EVERYTHING else about 7.0. Literally everything! The more I read about it the more I dread it!

Pretty much this. Like another poster, I do also like the remnant gear from alliance crates being added to collections. But that's it. I don't like losing abilities we've had for years. I have enjoyed amplifiers and don't like losing those. I would love to be positively surprised, but the more news comes out, the less keen I feel.

As a great villain once said:

"Everyone can be super! And when everyone's super, (evil laugh) no one will be." - Syndrome

It's like applying a cheat code to video game to have your character be the highest level and the best gear. You'll certainly feel your adrenaline pumping from excitement for the first day or so, but eventually it will then quickly begin to lose the satisfaction. Why? Because it took nothing to get where you are now. Getting gear should feel satisfying and well earned. Gear should feel as exciting as it is, because of the challenges you have to face to proclaim such grandeur. The whole reason why sets such as Rakata, Dread Guard, Dread Master, or Revanite were sought after in the first place, was because of hardships you had to endure to obtain these sets.

In 6.0 I saw people in full 306, still the highest rated gear, in the first week. I soon followed within the next. It felt like I had nothing to look forward to from doing the higher difficulties other than the occasional mount, maybe some titles, and bragging rights. To me, asking that everyone under the moon having access to the highest gear possible, with having to do very little work for it, just seems self-centered when you consider conquest gear can go up to 338 currently on PTS if you work for it. That should be plenty you need to get you to handle your story and conquest, as well as enough to transition into some group content if you decide that's the route you want to take.

If you want to continue to claim that 6.0 is their best iteration of gearing, or that how gearing is going to be handled is not to your preference, go ahead. Do your thing. But don't blindly go putting development down for wanting to try to improve the gearing and social experience with what they're attempting to do. No one's immune to criticism, but try to be objective with it.

. ;) I do much prefer 6.0 gearing because (imo) it wasn't about getting to 306 but about getting all the various possible set bonuses and tacticals, which offered a lot of variety and took a lot of time if you wanted to try everything. But if you just wanted to get a small number of items and play at the highest rating in a relaxed way, you could. I feel like gating the top rating of gear behind particular content, which a lot of people don't want to play, is doing a disservice to the majority of players. You can easily say "you don't need the gear if you're not doing the content." But plenty of people like pursuing a goal just for the sake of it. Consider achievements. That's a whole category of things people don't need but like getting anyway. Just saying "no, you don't need X, so you're wrong to want X, so you can't have it" is, to me, such a wild take... when we are playing a video game... something that literally no one needs. It is precisely just for fun. With the idea of "play your way" (even if that wasn't precisely what we got in all instances), we had an emphasis on every kind of fun being rewarded with gear. I think that was great and I'll be sad to see it go.
  2. For healer sage, I like the Keeper of Peace option on Deliverance, because it heals me and my companion if I'm soloing. This is new (unless I missed something for years, haha) but it feels like it really fits the sage.

I do not like having to choose between Force Lift, Phase Walk, and Telekinetic Blitz. These would all be abilities I'd use fairly regularly. I guess the upside is that it's very quick to swap between them, so in effect they are all available, just only one of them per combat? But I don't really see why this is necessary.

I appreciate that some properties from tactical items have been integrated to actual abilities, e.g. the healing added to Telekinetic Blitz.

  3. For me, operative is not operative without sleep dart. I'll be devastated if it's permanently gone.

Sleep dart gives my SIS-loyal agent a way to avoid fighting Republic-aligned mobs - not every time, but a lot of the time. It's a huge part of my roleplaying experience for that character, who I've played since launch. I remember that first playthrough, starting the "double agent" storyline over-levelled... and by the end being so under-levelled (from using stealth and sleep dart to not to fight Republic mobs) that most of my opponents were red. I nearly couldn't make it past some combats. Managing to push through that self-imposed difficulty was one of my best SWTOR experiences, and cemented my view that roleplaying isn't just about what you choose it do, but also what you choose not to do.

If the issue with sleep dart is PvP, I suggest making it work differently in PvP. Please don't just take it wholesale.

  4. also this was considered a priority fix in 6.3,

"The Day 7 Login Reward crate now correctly displays an icon."

I'm not sure what you might do for a living, but in many work environments the fact that one issue is quickly fixed does not automatically mean it is seen as a higher priority compared with another issue that is not fixed as quickly. Many factors come into play. Sometimes it is easier to fix something small that has less of an impact on related systems. Sometimes different people are working on the issues, so they are addressed simultaneously, and one person's workflow moving forwards has nothing to do with someone else's. I hope this perspective can clear things up a little.

I appreciate that the experience you're having is probably frustrating. But it sounds like it has been acknowledged. If it requires further acknowledgement, I hope it'll receive that.

  5. I got the same Daily PO: Riishi Daily Missions objective.

Objective Title: "Daily PO: Rishi Daily Missions"

The objective lists that 4 missions on Section X need to be completed, while the text description says "Complete [DAILY] Missions on Rishi".

Completing dailies on Rishi does not advance the objective.

Completing dailies on Section X does not advance the objective.

I suppose this may be related to the 6.3 Known Issues under `The Daily Priority Objective: “Daily PO: Rishi Daily Missions” is missing from the Outer Rim Event`, whatever an Outer Rim Event is.

I experienced the same. Neither Rishi nor Section X dailies advance this objective. :(

  6. I can only assume how people use interactive decos. Maybe there are a lot of role players enjoying that they start out in "deactivated mode". I personally would much prefer, since the setting is not persistent through logout, that those decos are by default "activated", so you don't have to run around everytime switching them all on one by one in case somebody comes to visit.

For some reason, this never occurred to me as an option. Yeah, in every case I can quickly call to mind, a default activated state would be great.

  7. Oh, thanks for the info. Yes, looks much nicer now. I probably would never have placed it withour your tipp. :D

To be honest it wasn't obvious to me. I really dislike interactable decorations having the bright blue highlight. It messes with the visual vibe. But if the highlight isn't there, it's easy to miss the interaction! I only clicked because I was suspicious at how interchangeable the base decoration looked with any number of crates. So I think, from a designer's point of view, the struggle is real. :D

Did Malgus steal some artwork? I had no idea he was so... cultured.

Are the crates supposed to be from Malgus?

  8. I got "Defeat Home World Enemies" as my daily PO again today. When I get home from work, I'm going to level a Jedi to 10 and see if that will allow kills to start counting on Tython. i'll let you know what i find out.

Thanks, I didn't get the objectives today that would've let me check. I'll be interested to see your results!

  9. I took my level 18 Sith Inquisitor through the Korriban Heroics and racked up 38 kills towards the "Defeat Home World Enemies" PO. Not having any low level Republic toons, I took my level 75 Jedi Knight through the Tython heroic and even though I finished it and the bonus quest, none of my kills counted towards the "Defeat Home World Enemies" PO. I'm still sitting at 38. Are starting planet POs level gated?

That's very interesting. I got zero progress on the home world enemies and capital world enemies, but all the characters I played were level 75. I wonder if I would have completed the objectives with lower level characters. :(

  10. That is already on the known issues list for 6.3. Check the "Others" category (first one there)

No, the issues are not the same. For me, Defeat Enemies 2 worked fine. I'm talking about the galactic seasons objectives, not the conquest objectives.

(I did carefully read the OP and indeed the entire thread before posting.)

  11. Well today I couldn't complete some daily objectives I got, because they were bugged. ("Defeat Capital Enemies" and "Defeat Home World Enemies" didn't work. I rerolled one and was able to complete that, but the other one stayed the same, so I was 1/2 even though I'd actually done three.) If we were allowed to choose from all possible daily objectives, at least we could get the two dailies done by avoiding the bugged ones. Another reason to let us choose.
  12. Defeat Enemies 2 works for me on Tython, Ord Mantell, and Coruscant. However, the corresponding daily objectives for galactic seasons - to defeat 75 enemies on these planets - do not work.
  13. Neither of my daily PO objectives for today are working. I got "Defeat Capital Enemies" and "Defeat Home World Enemies." Neither of them tracks if I select the tracking box. And neither of them updates with enemies defeated, at least for Tython, Coruscant, and Ord Mantell so far. They don't complete at 75 defeated, and they don't update along the way (I'm still at "0" for everything).
  14. Hey, I experienced this a lot recently. For me, it's a many-layed issue, but what you described is always the first step in the problem. The update stops writing to disk, then I have to force-stop the launcher, and sometimes repair. Thankfully, this update, no repair was needed. I just had to shut down the launcher with task manager and restart it, whenever task manager showed that it had stopped writing to disk. After four iterations of this, the update installed fully. So maybe try that.

What happens with me on other occasions is that, even after installing an update, there are errors in need of repair. When that happens, it gets stuck in a never-ending repair loop. Hopefully that doesn't happen to you. But, if it does, it turns out it can be a sign of memory issues. I posted this thread, in which some helpful people posted solutions and suggestions. Perhaps it can be of assistance to you.

  15. So much for "play your way." I truly don't understand why the objectives are so limited. I did try things on PTS but didn't have time to test much in the first version (plus the interface was confusing), and the second version my update process bugged out. I wish I'd been able to give more feedback 'cos this isn't what I wanted at all. More solo objectives please. That can be done at least as quickly as the group ones.
  16. Lana, as a character in this game, is very important to me.

This thread seems to have apparently convinced the devs to sideline the character, which is annoying and disappointing and is spoiling MY enjoyment of the game.

If you all manage to convince them to remove her, through leaving or through death, then that will ruin MY enjoyment of the game, and most likely drive me out of playing altogether. Which will cost Bioware a dedicated, paying subscriber.

Just back off and think about other people, would you, please? I'm really tired of whiners ruining games for me. It's happened too many times.

I completely disagree that Lana has been sidelined. She had two scenes in Echoes of Vengeance, one of which yet again had our characters wake up to see her face - something many people here have complained about. I don't see any reason to believe that the writers are being guided by this thread.

I appreciate that you like Lana. But please maybe you could think about other people too? Many people have favourites who get nothing like Lana's screentime. Respectfully, we'd be delighted to have what you're complaining about.
