  1. You know what? You're 100% right! When I want to go slay some dragons or really ****** robots, IRL, my friends and I don't just magically teleport to the killzone. Hell no! I have to first call at least 40 of my friends to at least get 25ish of them together. Then we have to arrange with a chartering service to get us all transportation to the zone (This is way harder then it sounds as most don't know where Dragon Soul or The Space Fleet is), then we have to arrange for catering for the event...And well, you get the picture, it's super duper hard to arrange all that you know. You sir, are a certified idiot.
  2. Well, because their RoC is so vague, it could very well be true. Let me point out to you Section B sub section 6 of their rule of conduct. "You may not engage in any conduct or practice that results in an Account containing items, objects, currency, character attributes, rank, or status that are inappropriate for the level or rank of the character contained in the Account, i.e., "item loading,". http://www.swtor.com/legalnotices/roc So who decides what is an inappropriate amount for a character to have? The whiny little child in this quote? Yeah, I can see this game will live long and prosper.
  3. Yeah, I guess I am spoiled if I expect a game I paid for to be working and have basic features in it. Silly me, I was doing it wrong.
  4. This and don't forget we are talking about EA in the end. If EA isn't making what they consider enough profit, they will shut this project down and move it to a F2P setup. They did it with Need for Speed World. Don't think for a minute that Bioware has any control besides getting patches out and trying to fix things. And even then, they will be held accountable to EA for how much they are spending on support and development costs. Add in Darth Luccas with his hand in the till regardless if the game is turning a profit, and having the final say in any lore, and you have a recipe for disaster.
  5. Ok, seeing as everyone and their bloody brother wants to wander down this content path (Hint: It's not really the content that is the problem with the game) I'll bite. I'm only going to list off points with Cata as that seems the expansion that everyone hates. I personally was disappointed with the amount of content compared to previous expansions. Zone quests: I'm only including the amount of quests to get the zone achievement. There are more. Mount Hyjal 115 quests Vashj'ir 130 quests Deepholm 110 quests Uldum 105 quests Twighlight Highlands 95 quests So that's 555 quests just in the 5 zones to get the Loremaster of Cataclysm. That's not to bad coming from an expansion that I thought was very poorly done in terms of questing. It's also, not including and quests that take you past the number needed for the achievement. Let me quote Eurogamer in an interview with Blizzard. "Wrath of the Lich King shipped with about 1000 quests, a little over," lead world designer Alex Afrasiabi told Eurogamer. "Cataclysm will ship with - we're tracking to ship with over 3000 new quests." Around 1000 of these quests will be in the zones taking players from level 80 up to the new level cap of 85, while the remaining 2000 will be in the redesigned "old world" from levels 1 to 60. That's a lot of content anyway you slice it. As for gearing up. I stopped playing back in October. I was give a time-card for christmas. I started playing again last Tuesday on my alt shaman that was nowhere near geared for the new raid or raid finder. He was in mostly 353 ZA/ZG gear with a couple of crafted 359. I was able to enter the 3 new instances and be completely geared to enter the raid finder (372) on this past Monday. So, how's that taking forever to gear? I'm pretty sure I could take a fresh 85 and have him geared for raiding in under 2 weeks if I wanted to. That's pretty damn alt friendly to me. Maybe I should try that with my mage that is in mostly 333 and 346 gear... The questing in this game seems like you're doing a lot more only because you are sitting through some voice acting content.
  6. Then don't release the game 1 week before christmas? The only reason this game was released when it was, was to hit the christmas cash in. This game was in no way, shape or form ready for prime time. It's their (Bioware) baby, they might have wanted to stick around and made sure it wasn't a still birth.
  7. You're 100% right. If Bioware doesn't get their crap together, and fast, there won't be a game in 6 months. Honestly, how long do you think people a going to "hold on" and "wait for them"? In this day and age if you aren't up to snuff at launch, then you're sunk already and are just waiting for the burial. Why should they wait when they can go down the street to any number of MMO's that are doing it right, right now?
  8. And how about you don't use the name of a dope smoking towel from South Park? Durp?
  9. Please show us on the dolly where the bad sith touched you. BTW, No game, including wow, needs gearscore. It was the lazy mans way of inspecting someone. Oh hai! They have a over 9000 gearscore but no gems or enchants and I'm not sure what spec they are trying to play, but the have a gearscore of over 9000 so they must be good. I always preferred to do my Elitism, Discrimination and Bullying up close and personal after I inspected you and saw what a dual fudge-pop wielding retard you were.
  10. for some reason I see pepper spray and a little vacation in your future.
  11. Today is January 3rd. Early access was granted on December 13th (at the earliest). Hence, they should have waited at least until the 12th of January (math is hard!) to go on their "break". I would actually go farther and say they should not have gone on their break until the earliest February 1st. So yeah, Bioware gave us the double middle finger salute as they went out the door.
  12. Is there candy? If there is, I'll get in the van as it would be legit.
  13. Ummmm, then don't release a AAA(wannabe) MMO before christmas? The first 30 days are the most circuital for any game. By releasing the game, then giving the community a giant double hand middle finger salute and screwing off for a break, is not the way to make a good impression.
  14. Skilled or not? Hell, this game isn't all the hard to begin with. I'm a healer and I've proven time and time again that I can, in fact, heal stupid.
  15. I think the patient is dead my good sir. I can stick a fork in it if you would like?
  16. Hahahahahaha........hahahahahahaha....... Pretty much all I can say to that. This board reminds me so much of the AoC boards when that game launched.
  17. How are you not able to save up for stuff? The market will level out to what the majority of people can afford. Again, prices for that shiny gear that you say is posted for 90K will come down when people refuse to pay that. I for one don't want Bioware to even try to police the economy. Ban gold sellers and BUYERS, but don't try and control what is essentially uncontrollable, you'll just make it more of a mess. BTW, I've noticed that the RoC was changed last night or today to no longer say anything about bank alts, holding gear or credits on alts and that sort of thing. I guess someone woke up and realized what a bonehead statement that was. ***EDIT*** NM, I was reading the one linked here last night. http://www.swtor.com/legalnotices/roc The latest one is http://www.swtor.com/legalnotices/rulesofconduct
  18. So put him on ignore and quit ************ about him. I've done it for people on both sides of the fence. The rabid twits that defend everything about this game no matter what, and the ones that just spew "game suxorz" without backing it up with something. Personally, I think the OP wrote one of the better opinion pieces.
  19. And the bolded part is what it always comes down to for you guys...Jesus, are you really that paranoid that you have to accuse everyone that criticizes this game as being paid by Blizzard? You would have been a hoot back in the days of the witchhunts. Burn it! It's a Blizzard paid stooge! \
  20. Back before authenticators it was pretty easy really. Flash and Java script injections from sites that ran adds. Most people didn't run firefox + nosript addon.
  21. That WoW has a much better economy? That their auction house is much better and maturer at this point? Yes, I understand the game is new, but coming down like this doesn't bode well for those of us that like to play the market. You are not forced to buy anything at that price. You don't need it to be competitive. I promise you, 99.9% of all players have no reason to min/max on that scale. My rogue, which was my main, used the mount hyjal rep necklace well into Firelands as nothing would ever drop for me. The was no reason for me to ever spend 15K on the don waun necklace. I'm not in a world first or even server first guild. Again, there is nothing on the AH that you need and would not be able to get from a guildie. Every guild I know of, from the truly social to the hardcore raiding guild, has at least one crafter that can make what you need, and generally for the cost of the mats. I just finished gearing my restro shaman to take advantage of the LFR tool. I bought nothing on the AH because IMHO it was all over priced for what I want to do. The 378 BOE cloak was over 3K on my server. Why would I buy that when I can just wait out the one in WoE to drop? Again. It all comes down to you really don't "need" what is being sold on the AH. It's a want and a way to save your time. You pay a premium for that service, just like anything in life. Again, I'm starting to sound like a broken record, you don't need anything "unique". You want something "unique". There is a huge difference. I want a Porsche, I don't need a Porsche.
  22. Maybe, just maybe, that's their way of playing the game? My GF like to play angry Birds? Personally I find it very repetitive and boring.
