  1. I've had the same problem, on and off, for the past week or so. Have tried the solutions presented in this thread, to no avail. I do not always get the download patch (when I do it's usually in two segments, one big one, and one smaller)..... I do not click on ok as that kills the game. I just play my characters. Very annoying.... very stupid. Here's the real kicker, at least for me..... I login after reset and never experience the issue (not yet at least), no issues no worries, everything is fine. Maybe I play several hours during the day then log. When I login later that day, i.e., that evening or night.... I experience the issue. Maybe it's my PC.....🥵
  2. While running this on Veteran Mode last night (6-26), and again on 6-27, everything plays out as it's designed. I burn, in this instance, Tem-Su down first. Rada-Ki resets to full health. Around 19-20% health left on Rada-Ki, Tem-Su respawns at full health. I reset the encounter by running up the steps and then re-engage, only this time I took down Rada-Ki first, Tem-Su resets to full health and after getting him down to - again - 19-20% health, Rada-Ki respawns with full health. Instead of resetting, I finished burning down Tem-Su and worked Rada-Ki..... again. Same thing at around 20% health, Tem-Su respawns at full health. It never ends. The second night I decided to run past the encounter and deeper into the instance. I was able to get through all of the remaining encounters and reach The Curse. To repeat: this happened on Veteran Mode, and I was running it solo. Jugg Tank, with Vette set to heals for the boss encounters. This can't be working as intended. Anybody else experience this? I haven't run Master yet, and completed Story with no issues.
  3. I have completed two of the three relic hunts. Is it safe to assume that the abilities pop up in the temporary ability bar? The two buffs are active on my character, but I can't find the skills anywhere. Reset the UI, checked IE, everything is fine. No abilities are visible anywhere.
  4. Just read this thread, and I gotta admit, I'm really enjoying the 10 Year Anniversary celebration of SWTOR....
  5. Don't know whether this is related. Apologies if off-topic. Five times in the last nine days, the game updates itself. It is a huge download as well (35.5 gb). Then, when I get to the character screen, I get the loading screen bug, have to Alt-F4 out and proceed to get another update to the game, about half the size of the previous update. I'm not getting error messages and I can login after the second update. Any suggestions?
  6. Only gripe I have is the lack of an option to reject those comps we do not want. Build the Alliance the way we want and eliminates mission clutter. The recruitment missions we choose not to do, apparently are there forever. There could be a timeout factor deployed, maybe after a year, they go away. With a warning so nobody is caught by surprise. IDK <shrug>
  7. As you enter the room to meet the final boss, to your right there is a pillar. You can drag him over there and use that pillar to LOS interrupt the casts.
  8. almost forgot please bring back Quickbar 6
  9. So much that is spot on. I welcome the response from somebody in the development arena though. There is so much about this update that was avoidable, and others have addressed a few of the big ones. But one that deserves repeating: taking away items that people paid real world money for, that one is probably the most unbelievable on a long list of unbelievable. I love this game, but right now, in the immortal words of Strother Martin: "What we've got here is a failure to communicate." I hope this thread is the beginning of the end of that.
  10. Is not accessible since the update, via quick switching. I run all of my quickbars via the main quickbar using hotkeys. When using Shift + Down Arrow, the quickbar slot number on the right side of the main quickbar reads like this: 1,2,3,4,4,5 Hope this is coming back soon. Additionally, Quickbar 6 is available if the player wants to stick it to the screen, but involves screen clutter that, for my part, would rather not elect to have.
  11. A LOTRO analogy, e.g., the tanking Warden. The Warden is the most advanced class in LOTRO, or was, as I haven't logged in in a couple of years. As they slowly broke the class, it surfaced that the Warden dev had never actually played the game, let alone the class. My mains in this game are Juggernaut and Guardian. They did us no favors with the redesign of the skill tree. Those classes in particular (because I play them) did not need skill simplification, imo. It's not really a choice when it comes down to choosing between Saber Reflect, Mad Dash/Blade Blitz or Intimidating Roar/Awe. I used them all, with no complications or quickbar glut. It was a good place to be. This is definitely not play as you want to play, or becoming stronger than I ever was. Oh well.... edit to add: I neglected to mention the new approach to mob mechanics, e.g., stuns, slows, knockbacks, etc., etc. I have no idea how this game lived without those mechanics for so long. For instance, fighting a two NPC mob on Oricon the other day, Strongs. I got force choked four times and knocked out once. This game has long lacked a short immunity to those mechanics. In Operations I can (possibly) understand it, but in normal world mobs, that's insane. And dare I say, a somewhat murky vision of creativity. Please recognize the sarcasm in some of the added commentary.
  12. I have this same issue. Using the default hotkey combo of Shift + Down Arrow, the quickbar's scroll as 1,2,3,4,4,5. I use one quickbar and quickswitch through them as needed, via buttons on my mouse. I no longer am able to do that with QB 6, which is now, in effect, QB 5. Please fix. Thank you edit to add: All of my keybinds are still in place.
  13. I noticed this as well. Odd thing is, it was updated not long after the announcement, now it has reverted to the teaser announcing the update going live on the 14th. Glad they postponed it. I didn't sub just for this, and as a side note, I just came back to the game after an eight year hiatus, near the end of this past July, to be specific. Not only did I have a boatload of catching up to do, seems it was just in time to experience some major changes to how I play my characters. They could have handled this better, but I am not unhappy to see this delayed.
  14. I am a little late to the game here (took a long long break)..... For Ossus, I presently sit at 13/19 codex entries, Imperial side. I have all of the datacrons, but the codex tells me that I am 3/5 for datacrons on Ossus. The two Persons of Note entries are unobtainable, as has already been discussed (General Daeruun/Tau Adair), and I can not seem to locate the codex for the Jedi Library and the Hidden Colony entry is unobtainable for Imperial. I have all of the datacrons (including Fleet), yet my codex tells me that I am 80/83 for datacrons. It doesn't make sense and I can find nothing at all to point me in any direction to resolve some of this stuff. Just wanted to add this information, I hope that some of it may not be redundant. edit to add: swtorista points to the Imperial Command base for the Jedi Library codex, but that datapad is the codex for Strike Base XR-484 entry.
  15. No they did not. I just unlocked it for an Imperial character on my Republican character. And wasted 350 cartel coins.
  16. There are a lot of things said about this game, from all sorts of different perspectives, that would probably be well served by prefacing your remark before the "complaints". This is a remarkably stable and nice looking game. I know of three people who agree with me, my son, my DIL and now my wife. We're all proving it by paying to play, so that's my little subjective universe on display I am a lifetime subscriber to LOTRO and while it is a very nicely designed game, it still has end-game bugs after all this time on the market. Some of it makes the content unplayable. Tower of Orthanc comes to mind and that's really sad because it is a brilliantly conceived raid cluster. The developers over there listened to the small community of hard core raiders that said they wanted raid instances to be extremely difficult. This all started after the Dol Guldur raid cluster, a raid cluster that, IMO, was probably the best that they've produced so far. It wasn't easy, but it also wasn't unpredictable when it came to boss damage spikes, essentially nullifying all of the skills designed to keep a raid alive through said fight. Be careful what you wish for has come to my mind a lot since that time.
  17. Has it occurred to you or anyone else that fixing some of these issues is not as easy as "we" the players think it should be? That by fixing some of these issues, many other issues could be created unintentionally? Anybody that knows anything about programming/developing knows this. Another point on the level cap increase, one of economics. There are new games coming out, LOTRO is going to Rohan in October with a level cap increase to 85, etc., etc. This is a competitive market and standing by in a state of stagnation is an invitation to irrelevance. As a rule, I don't usually engage in Internet muscle flexing contests because everybody has a keyboard and anonymity and everybody is brave. Which is why I rarely frequent the forums. Some of the posts I have criticized make excellent points, but usually, like all such posts, it ends with being centered around "me and what I want" and that's no way to run a business. Lots of customers out there, with lots more being convinced that they just have to try this out. FWIW, as everyone's mileage may vary.
  18. Well said. The posts that preceded this, don't claim to speak for me or anybody else in this game. There is a really really really simple solution: find another game to play. The only "other" tradition that I can think of as it pertains to MMO's in general - beside the grind - are the number of whiners posting on the forums or trolling in general chat about how screwed up the game is. This game is less than a year old and it is remarkably stable and rich with content. Far to many folks live in a "the latest greatest thing is the cool thing to do" world. Sniff the roses and the bantha poo on the way to greatness.
  19. I don't like it. And I don't know why it's important that the Sage should be more in line with the Inquisitor, or vice-versa. The old animation was very cool, and let's face it.... pulling a droid out of the ground and slamming a bad guy right up side the head with it from 30m away.... it just doesn't get much better than that.
  20. By talents do you mean the way one traits their skill tree? Buffs from other players? Stims?
  21. This is not true. I have inspected players in WZ's and have seen healers with Force Regen rates of 10. When you mouse over that area, Alacrity is the "trait" that it displays. I still have not found out just how that works, because I'm at 9.43% alacrity and my force regen has never exceeded the base number of 8.0%.
  22. ^^^^ This. I'm a heal specced Sorc, just got my first BM armor piece and got a nice whopping boost to my accuracy, at the expense of power and surge rating. Lovely. So, getting that first piece of "good" armor actually resulted in a net loss to one of the most important stats I need as a healer. Who thought that up?
