  1. Plain and simple. A shadow tank can no longer tank especially in WZs. It's damage output is ridiculous in comparison with the damage dps classes can do and it has more or less the same damage mitigation.Add to that the fact that as a tank it has to guard and get more damage inc..... Epic fail 1.3.And given the time it takes them to gather data and re balance the game I guess I'll just take a couple of months off when my sub runs out.
  2. Most 6 month subs that started at launch of the game will end sometime in July. A lot of players that don't play the game anymore or play sporadically like me and have cancelled but still active 6 month subs might see the pet and the commendations as a good reason to stay for another month at least. Well....maybe not. Although 1.3 is a huge improvement to the game and the 1st patch that felt like a BW product, this is the middle of the summer. I'll let my sub run out and come back in a couple of months.Pet or no pet.
  3. Hey. I just spent 1000 wz commendations to get a PvP materials box. in it there were 38 PvP crafting materials. With them I can make warzone adrenals The recipe is:1 hyposyringe 1 Grade 6 medical supply 4 Grade 6 compounds 4 Grade 6 samples 1 PvP crafting material Now...1 wz adrenal costs 10 wz commendations at the vendor. So with the 1000 wz commendations I spent for the box I can buy 100 wz adrenals. That is more than 100% more than I can make with the PvP box materials and I also save a lot of credits from the additional materials needed to craft the adrenal. Can you see any use for biochem in PvP anymore? Epic fail.-
  4. To fix it they 1st need to know how to fix it and they got their hands full with putting stuff in the game that should have already been there. Patience. This is WAR.
  5. I believe it is the shadows of this game that have a severe impact on performance. Turning shadows on results on in a drop of more than-60-70 fps(from 100 to 30). I don't know about BW but that in my opinion has to be the worst and least optimized game of the past and forthcoming decades. Basically I can run every other game at the highest settings(with real shadows not the lego SWTOR ones) to at least nice playable high 40s. Given the actual quality of the graphics this is the worst engine ever made for a game. I mean Crysis was a little less demanding;) ....and have you seen how Crysis looks??? Fail Fail Fail......
  6. More voice overs are needed badly. It is the heart of the game. I want a talking cow companion ASAP. Now seriously.... To me the basis for every good and long lasting MMO is the quality of the servers and the game and the client. The absence of bugs, crashes and lag(in real MMO situations not in 8v8 multiplayer modes). If you don't have that...no matter how good your setting is and no matter how many voice overs you got you are bound to only one direction. DOWN.
  7. In PvP WZs there is a max of 16 players. You can't get lag with 16 players no matter how bad your servers are.
  8. Well ...... It's all about priorities. Like the Sims is a higher priority than SWTOR. So when you build an MMO what are your priorities? -1st and most important you need nice voice overs and a lot of single player content. -Then after 6 months you want to get healthy populations in your servers. -Next it's time to get servers that can handle the load of a healthy population MMO. -Then after a year or so you might wanna consider of making a decent game client without all the bugs and the loading screens of death. -After you get the adequate servers and a proper game client you might wanna consider getting some large scale PvP in the game.Although that is not really needed since you got a lot of new single player content. And so on......
  9. Yes please.Cause if you like to do quests but also like to do small scale PvP you should be forced to play on a PvP server. More ideas like these and in a year from now you won't need the number 10 to count the servers.
  10. I still have an active sub but I won't renew it for one very simple reason. The game client quality and server performance is not up to my standards. Whenever I mention this to the forums I get answers like "It's your P.C' "get a new machine " e.t.c e.t.c. Well my "old" machine is not old at all and plays even the heaviest and most demanding games of our time without a problem. I run all my games at the highest settings with Vsync ,AA,AF on at 1900x1200. I also play 2 other MMOs at the time, the one you all guess and Rift and they run smoothly. The last time I reported a bug was 2 months ago when I last played SWTOR and the 1st time I reported a bug since then is today that I played SWTOR. And I am just tired of this bug reporting and one problem after the other and send us your Dxdiag bla bla bla. This reminds me of WAR and these are times that I want to forget. So I will take a break and hope that in a year or so the situation will be improved and the game will be in much more mature and accomplished state than it is today. See you there then and may the force be with you. P.S + All of the previous posts.
  11. I am a returning player that came to see how the game would be after the transfers. My sub is still active and I kinda missed SWTOR so I hoped in. In terms of server population the game has never been better for me. I used to play on a low pop server and the improvement after the transfers is awesome. So big gz BW for this. But... The game still has serious issues when it comes to client quality, stability and performance. And i mean really serious. What can I say...remember the bugged sound effect that sounded like static in the WZs? Thought they fixed that. I just had to log out of the game cause I got this sound in my ship..... Sound is still a big problem. You got sounds not loading at all or sounds of effects lagin' etc etc. So I don't see any improvement when it comes to this. During my session I had numerous loading screens going bezerk in artifacts a couple of game crashes and one P.C crash. I can only describe the game client as fragile. What really concerns me is that in the patch notes released during my absence there seems to have been fixes and improvements in terms of game performance and stability but I don't see that when I play the game. So to sum it up. We finally got nice and full servers. And now it is time to improve the servers in order to handle the load. And improve the game client to the standards of other contemporary MMOs. I had a lot of fun today but the current status of the server/client is not that of a paid sub game.
  12. Seems I did a mistake and misjudged the server transfer process. My initial reaction was based on the list of servers as it appears in the swtor/transfers web page. That lead me to misunderstand the system cause it is not clear on that page the relation between origin and transfer servers. Sorry ,and I hope my server get's in the lists soon.
  13. If I understand correctly the list is of the servers that you can transfer to. I hope I'm right cause if we are talking about servers you can transfer from the failure is so big there's not even a reason to comment more. And BTW. If they were serious and really wanted to boost population they would just merge servers and servers would be full in a couple of days. But no. They had to "innovate" once more. So now what we got is not exactly free..it is rather ,controlled server transfers in the way a server merge is but it is not as fast, effective and simple as a server merge. Keep on innovating...
  14. Unbelievable. I waited for the server transfers with the hope that I would get back in the game but the way it is implemented is hilarious. Even a simple server merge would be better than this. Now all I can do is move from a low pop server to another low pop server and hope that more players will follow. I guess I'll pass for now......
  15. Of course they do. This is one of the thinks that really needs improving . There is no day/night system. No dynamic weather system. There is no minor wildlife to liven up the maps. NPCs seem too static. Even the most dense vegetated areas in the maps look like an orderly put together garden.(with the exception of some areas in Voss maybe). Water covered areas design is below 0.They could at least and since they decided not to design underwater areas, not allow the player camera to go under the water surface textures and make the game look fugly. But most of all.... I CAN'T LEAVE MY FOOTSTEPS ON THE DESERT SANDS OF TATOOINE.! This a crime against Star Wars. Now do they need to improve all that? If they want SWTOR to be a 500k-800k subs game, no. If they aim higher, yes.
  16. Lol. Just lol. No matter what you do you cannot change the awfully heavy graphics engine this game has.
  17. Unbelievable. "Difficult" to count subs because it is ..as we all know, complicated. There are the active subs in their entirety. And although you can say how many subs you had one month ago, that would be the subs SWTOR HAD when generally the public is interested in the subs SWTOR HAS.... ..and you understand that this is very hard to count and it takes time:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9......................................101,102.......... The entirety of subs has two subcategories. 1.The subs that are active subs but have no recurring sub plan, like mine. 2.The subs that are active and have a recurring sub plan. Maybe what they really meant is that there's a million ways to make this complicated and make black look white. Keep on walking.
  18. It seems like it will be sometime in July. I hope they understand that the deployment of this patch has to be seamless and that a mess up like the one in 1.2 will kill the game.
  19. How can you play a game with no shadows and say it looks great? No shadows is a compromise for low-mid spec machines but the game does not look great without shadows.
  20. I think it all comes down to what EA wants SWTOR to be. Surely SWTOR cannot in it's current form satisfy an old MMO player. They want casual players to play SWTOR. That's why they are happy they got only 1 million players. It will be 800K players in a couple of months and 500K players in a year and still they will be happy about it. And then there is the case of all the bugs and flaws that make the game feel fragile. Not to mention a PC breaking game engine. SWTOR so far has been a bright example on how to make an MMO fail.
  21. I play on Ludo Kressh. I hoped in last Friday to check out the game cause I'd been away for a few weeks. It was around 22:00 there were 19 players in the republic fleet including the 4 players from my guild.I tried to join a WZ waited for 30 min without a single pop and loged out. So to answer your question...no .On my server the game is unplayable due to extremely low population.
  22. It is technically incomplete, very demanding on PC resources, and overall it is in no way near WoW neither as a game nor as a game service. I was full on SWTOR,got a 6 month sub and had the highest expectations from it. But now although I still got 2 months left I don't even bother to log in and I'm back to WoW. There are some fundamental flaws in SWTOR and from my experience although some aspects of a game can be improved and new content can be added the very core of the game with it's pros and cons cannot be changed. I've seen this happening to WAR. And now it's all over the same again in SWTOR.
