  1. Seriously? You think the suits from EA Finance are coming down to Austin and demanding gear grinds?
  2. Leaving aside the fact we have been told about all of this before (seems like several times) every interview or presentation from Gamescon seems to be saying the same thing with regard to new content. I'm not sure how many people have understood what I think you are trying to do with "more frequent content updates". So let me ask this straight out, does "more frequent content updates" mean this: August - Live event 6 weeks later - new flashpoint 6 weeks later - new warzone 6 weeks later - new playable race 6 weeks later - new operation 6 weeks later - new companion Because if so, and you are the type who like live events you could be waiting 6 MONTHS for the next one, the same if you like warzones or flashpoints or whatever - you will get a new one every 6 MONTHS or so. Now I know a lot of us will find more than one of the items listed exciting - personally I love live events (except this one, you can keep that mega disapointment thanks) but Rakghoul was amazing) and I love warzones. So in 6 months there might be two mini-content updates that interest me. Your own mileage may vary, I'm sure there are some who do simply EVERYTHING in game but in reality I doubt the guys who are mega in to Operations will be too fussed with a new flashpoint etc. I would bet this 5 week mini drip feed system is what Bioware considers "more frequent content". However I would bet my house that isn't what current subscribers would consider "more frequent content". So community and dev team, am I right or wrong?
  3. I suggest you read my post carefully again. Call me what you like I have a fairly tough skin (guess you don't) but here is the rub - I've played a LOT of classes (assassin, pyro, mara, operative to name a few) to endgame and all are AT LEAST fully augmented battlemaster. My sorc is valor 96 with BIS gear. Actual BIS, with the theory craft and the playing hours, in ranked with a PVP guild along with the obligatory hours and high costs against a dummy, to prove the theory. But going back to my original question, as it seems like I touched a nerve does that mean you aren't going to be posting any videos then? It really is easy to setup and record. Failing that maybe some screenshots would do of your frequent 5k crits?
  4. Don't get me wrong I liked the story, Imperial Agent was particularly good, sorc was good, commando was ok, bounty hunter was meh.... but overall it was good. Realistically though this game has failed as an MMO because of it. I doubt you will see very much story added - if any - in the next 12 months. As for same gender romance, seriously? I'd guess 0.1% of subscribers care about that (or even less). I wouldn't hold your breath. Maybe if BW need something to get the game in the news again (no such thing as "bad" publicity right?) Most of the PVPers are already gone, and the PVP servers are suffering population loss much faster compared to PVE and RP servers. For those that remain the only hope is some reasoned class balancing, urgent fixes and at the very least new warzones. Open world will never happen and PVP is the red-headed step child of the game. But it's all good right? We get some fluff to buy in the cash shop soon. And a new companion. Oh happy days!
  5. The OP makes some good points. Personally I tried the event on my main, couldn't bear the congestion and loot stealing so logged on another char still on original server where I was the only person on the planet (yay for not transferring yet). Even then, I got about 10 minutes in to it before I wondered what I was bothering for - the rewards to date are terrible, I am not doing any more alts so you can keep your bind on legacy items and the rest of it might as well be the very definition of "fluff we already had kicking around". There is some awesome armor from beta and also some great armor that NPCs are wearing not available to players and we need another sand people outfit? I won't go in to the pets and speeders because they have already been well covered in this thread. This is what F2P does to games, the stuff we might actually want (better armor sets, new color crystals, better looking speeders) all end up in the cash shop. Quite sad really, the Rakghoul event was quite possibly one of the best in game events I've ever seen. It was creative, divisive, fun, annoying and ultimately rewarding.
  6. Really? How about you enlighten all the rest of the sorcs/sages then and post up some videos, better yet if you have the cahones a live stream? I honestly can't wait to see something of your gameplay because there is a 1 in a million chance you are part of a tiny minority who has found the secret to playing the class. I'm guessing that isn't the case though based on the fact we already know the opposition on your server sucks (by your own admission), you only pug, the bad choice of augments you slotted and the fact you've only played at end game on two of the worse classes in the game..
  7. I find it interesting that there is so much "soon" and "we can't say any more about this just yet". I understand the reasons behind it, no need to restate them. But... how come we get concrete dates for some things? We are told F2P will be in November is a good example. Presumably EA investors would not tolerate "F2P will be coming soon" so why should your paying customers?
  8. I'm somewhat encouraged by the work of Allison today, lots of interesting stuff in the dev tracker to read (regardless if I like the answers or not). And I'm a cynic, so you are off to a decent start. I'm not keen on the weekly Q&A changes though, seriously the old Q&A was pretty bad but the new system is just a re-hash and still relies on a lottery system of getting questions answered - i.e. does Allison see it, does she take it to the appropriate dev, does the dev give an answer that is printable in a forum etc. I'd rather have a rotating system, one week PVE, another week PVP, another is Story, another is RP, lore or whatever. Then flag in advance what that weeks Q&A relates to so we can all submit our relevant quesitons - and try to answer them all! Sure it would be a pain for the PVP leads, but at least they get a few weeks off from Q&A after that.. Finally we also need a dedicated PVP rep. I'm not a hardcore PVPer by any means but that is why I play the game and the same is true of everyone in my guild. Look at the number of posts on this forum, see the massive number of posts in PVP? That should tell you something right there.

    Sorcs in PvP....

No offence but your problem is you have played the worst two classes at endgame. It would appear that you don't have any concept of what it is actually like to play other classes like Pyro/Mara etc. Though I see your sniper is making progress, but the problem there is that sniper is closest thing to a natural counter for a Mara so you will likely think after playing sniper at endgame that Maras need a buff Anyone can beat bads, re-rollers with no gear. In BM gear on my Sentinel and on my Pyrotech I can destroy vastly better geared Sorc/Sage who are good and "known" players, in part because I played Sorc myself for such a long time. There are a few who beat me but they tend to be extremely skilled, lucky or have finished their min/maxing (and done it right).
  10. Guess I'll hang on to them then until they put something decent in there to buy, all my companions are wearing Coumi or better anyway (at least the ones I actually use) and the speeder looks ugly.
  11. So I worked my way up to 200 daily comms again (don't enjoy dailies but need cash) and damned if I can see anything that is actually worth buying that would be of ANY use in PVP? Anyone else got this problem? What has everyone else spent their daily comms on if they are PVPers? It isn't even like the speeder is any good.
  12. Why is this in PVP forum and not server forum? I could care less what you achieved in preseason against mostly pugs in a fairly broken PVP system. If/when we see cross server queues then that might be the time to post in main PVP forum. Somehow I doubt we will ever see that post. I wonder how much the use of exploits contributed to your rating though, regardless of your rating it is what you are most renowned for..
  13. I'm sure this started off in GD, interesting thread move. Regardless, if you add in all the "why can't we have a hood toggle", "why can't we site in chairs" and "why can't I play this race" I'm sure PVP complaints aren't quite as many when stacked up against EVERY other issue people complain about. Lots of people PVP in this game and they PVP a lot - compare the thread count of GD to PVP. Then compare the thread count of PVP section to Flashpoints, Ops and Heroics section. As someone has already pointed out there is little to talk about in PVE - once someone has worked out the strats for something everyone just needs to learn it. Bizarrely, and despite its popularity, PVP is the most screwed up part of the game and gets little (if any) attention.

    Sorcs in PvP....

Seriously? You have never seen a sniper completely dominate when defending against one (and usually 2 attackers)? They have all the tools, one melee doesn't stand a chance before a sniper can lock you down, yawn, go out for a smoke and then call for backup. Exception would be if the melee is stealth. I don't know what server you play on but they must have some seriously average players on it. Based on your three paragraphs above, just what ARE ranged DPS useful for in your game? They can't attack, they can't defend, do they just make up the numbers if there aren't enough melee or tanks to make up a team?
