  1. Ah OK, so I just need to level up once off some random quests/mobs to 51 (was still 50)?
  2. I had a similar problem. I just re-subbed and I can't figure out how to extend my story quest on my Trooper. I'd finished the entire original storyline up through the end of Chapter 3 with General Rakton. Yet I don't have any obvious quest hooks to start back up again, there's nothing on my ship other than some companion quests I never got to and there didn't seem to be anything obvious at the Republic Fleet. I'll just play some alts for now, but I don't know if I'll stick around if I can't continue with my main character.
  3. LOL and SWTOR are vastly different games. Comparing their PVP rewards system is like comparing apples to wall plaster. Completely different. While I, personally, prefer horizontal rewards from PVP I'd like to put forward a few things that seem to be overlooked: 1.) Software development (including games) is not easy. One can not just wave a wand and *VOILA* something is created. 2.) Character classes in SWTOR are significantly more complex than LOL Champions. For starters, you have more than 4-5 abilities. A lot more. So, while adding a champion is relatively easy in LOL, it is significantly more challenging to create a new player class in an MMO that is ready for balanced PVP gameplay. So, when you combine those 2 points, I think it pretty well spells out why this is not going to happen. At least not any time soon. It would take significant effort to change SWTOR PVP to more closely mirror LOL or even GW2's semi-comparable PVP system. Why? Because SWTOR wasn't built to support systems like those, and developing those systems takes a lot of developmental resources. Resources that are limited and tied up in other tasks. My (very rough) guesstimate--as someone that works in software development--that retooling the PVP system to reflect anything remotely close to what you're suggesting would take at minimum 6-12 months with a large number of resources dedicated to it. It would probably take much longer, and it ties up smaller projects that could be accomplished in a smaller timeframe while still providing "fresh, new content".
  4. Personally, I enjoy it. I'm not a hardcore player. I'm not going to be running the latest HM Ops. Or probably any HM Ops, ever. I'll be running whatever I can PUG in the time I have available on random nights after work. So, it's nice that used-to-be endgame gear becomes available to such casuals as myself from a more enjoyable venue once it is no longer the end-all-be-all. That allows casuals a way to continue to feel like they are progressing, while still fitting into their preferred playstyle. So long as there are still achievements available for the hardcore players that must have the *best* gear ASAP.
  5. It's beginning PVE gear for those that don't want to run dailies for a week before jumping into HM FPs, that's about it.
  6. I think the support for this is rather small, all things considered. I think there is a small, vocal minority that *really, really, really* want SGR's implemented into the game. Just as there is a small, vocal minority that stringently want the opposite. I'm totally indifferent on the matter, as I think are the vast majority of players most likely. I'd be perfectly fine with SGR in the game but it's not something I'm looking forward to either. Hell, even the opposite gender romances are pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I'd much rather time be spent on new content in the form of quests, worlds, zones, FPs, Ops, and WZ's. But that's just me.
  7. So...what can I use HK-51 for after I acquire him as a level 50? I mean, other than the relatively mind-numbing uses like running more dailies and crafting? I really wish companions had any real gameplay effect in the end-game.
  8. Do plans for the Hood On/Off toggle coincide with any redress for hoods on Twi'lek character models by chance? I know it's doubtful, but doesn't hurt to ask
  9. I'm by no means an expert theory-crafter, but it's my understanding that it largely depends on your current gear whether you want to stack Endurance or Shield/Absorb. Basically you want to have enough End that healers have time to react to heal you during boss burst damage without you dropping, after that you want to maximize Shield/Absorb up to 50/50%. If you are stacking Shield/Absorb you want to keep the two values relatively equal.
  10. Yeah, this would be excellent if you included the name(s) of the rifle(s) that have that model. For instance I'd be interested in looking for the rifle that is on the bottom row and 4th from the left or the one that is on the 3rd row furthest on the left, but I don't know what their names are to search for them.
  11. What schematics are those?
  12. I've been very pleased with Armormech, personally. It was amazing while I leveled up, as I could keep both myself and my companion in blue-quality gear constantly. At max level I can easily make all of my augment kits and augments (Vanguard tank), saving me a bundle, plus I have made a lot of money selling kits for basically no real effort on my part. Oh, I was also able to craft my own Rakata belt pretty early after hitting 50 too, which is a nice upgrade. I'm sure they'll add more special perks to the profession later, but I'm plenty pleased with it at the moment. My only qualm is now that I spend most of my time crafting for profit (aug kits) rather than personal use it would have been nice to have leveled Slicing instead of U. Trading. I don't really need many rare metals any more.
  13. Hey everyone, I just resubbed recently and I'm looking to gear up to start tanking Ops. So far I've mostly confined myself to daily HM FPs. I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on what stats to favor given my current stats. I'm also looking to find advice on how to find better-in-slot mods to replace some of the Accuracy stuff that seems to be on all of my set gear. My current stats are (roughly): - Health: 20,400 - Damage Reduction: 51% - Defense: 13% - Shield: 42% - Absorb: 43% - Accuracy: 98% I know that I should favor Shield and Absorb over Defense and that I should keep my Shield and Absorb roughly equal do to DR. My specific questions are: 1.) At my stat level when Augmenting my gear should I go for the Shield/Power and Absorb/Power augs or should I go with End/Aim augs? 2.) Should I look at trying to dump some of the Accuracy I have for mitigation or Endurance? If so, what is the best way to get Q56 Mods and Enhancements with those preferred stats? Do I just need to farm specific Columi tokens for the pieces that have those Mods/Enhancements and rip those out, and if so which tokens are those that I'd be looking for? Thanks in advance!
  14. So, with the inception of Augmentation Kits though there doesn't seem to be much difference between Artifact gear with mods and Custom gear though (aside from the Adaptive trait on Social gear and set bonuses bound to earlier tier pieces). Right?
  15. Hello all, Searched through the forum and tried to find some guides to answer my question, but to no avail. Maybe my search-fu is just bad, and if so I apologize, but I have a quick question. I unsubscribed pre-1.2 and just reactivated in the last couple of days. My main is a 400 Armormech and I though that I'd read that we can now Reverse Engineer armor pieces into Custom (orange) versions of those pieces. How exactly does that work? What pieces specifically can yield Custom schematics and how can I tell that in-game? Thanks!
  16. What I don't get about all of this is that creating a system where crafters can create Augment-slot-granting items (think belt buckles from WOW, but for all slots) would solve all of these problems. Any gear with an Armoring/Mod/Enhancment slot then becomes BIS with removable mods, if you can add an augment slot to anything.
  17. Thanks for the info all. I had just been going by some online guides I'd dug up, but they must be outdated
  18. Hey all, My small guild of friends took on our first Normal Mode Operation yesterday, going 3/5 in a few hours. Which wasn't too shabby considering we have several fresh 50's. Anywho, I was MTing (never tanked extensively in an MMO before) and I had some trouble kiting the Foreman. We were able to down him, but my technique could definitely be improved. How does one avoid his slowing debuff? Even if I began running as soon as he emoted that he was about to frenzy he seemed able to catch up to me and reapply the slowing debuff, and then I basically just got habitually spanked. Any advice?
  19. They definitely can be crit at least then, you did it with your belt?
  20. Can the T3 Rakata armor vendor-taught schematics (belt/bracers) for Armormech be RE'd into higher forms?
  21. I read the Young Jedi Knights when I was a kiddie but never followed-up into the expanded universe much. What books would be recommended to read about the later-life exploits of Jaina and Jacen (and in what order)? Thanks!
  22. You should amend the daily quest to require only 1 victory until this is fixed. Since it usually takes 3 wins for one of them to reward anything anyway. I'd hope a simple variable change or two could be handled without introducing more than 5-6 new bugs.
  23. Well a friend told me that the very same day he had ran regular Esseles 6x times and got social points each time, farming the points. So, my thought was that this is likely not intended. Otherwise I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get so many social points now that I'm 50?
  24. So, I just did my first 3 hardmodes over the weekend: Esseles, Taral V, and Maelstrom Prison. Strangely though, after completing the flashpoints I noticed neither my Social Points or Alignment bars had moved at all (numbers were exactly the same as when I entered). Am I missing something I need to do to have those points count, are we not supposed to get points from completing instances multiple times, or is this a bug?
