  1. Thank you so much for starting this thread! For those of us with visibility issues, the ability to disable a shaking camera is extremely important. There are certain quests, cinematics, and spells which I simply cannot watch at all. Thank you!
  2. I completely agree with the original post. Especially the slap with a fish part. I spend hours feeding mindless gifts to Tweek and HK, and although questing with some of the companions helps (if you're of a similar mindset, otherwise pain) you're still going to be throwing money and time down the drain. It's a meaningless and annoying grind. Crafting is enough of a grind, but at least that nets you something in return.
  3. I completely agree. Our guild is in the same situation - we pre-registered the name with the guild invite program before launch, and were the first guild with the name (although several copied a few days later). We made the guild day 1 of early access, and we have been active, paying subscribers. We bought CEs and name-rushed to guarantee our name. Our server didn't move, and like the original poster's, we are apparently the short straw. We're not renaming our guild, but this was incredibly insulting. We'll stay @ Jedi Covenant and just deal with the long tooltips. All these bad managerial decisions, less than one year after launch? Doesn't breed happy thoughts. But Bioware, wow. That name used to be gold to me...not anymore.
  4. The challenge with matching names to models is that there are many rifles with the same model, so you'd have to match all the name variations. Plus, each model has multiple color variations. If there's a model you like, I recommend using torhead.com and filtering for "blaster rifle" "prototype and custom". You can then browse to find the icon you're looking for, open those, and figure out which would be easiest for you to procure. I know, not the easiest system...but hey, shiny guns

  6. Hi all, I made an assault cannon models guide to help the Commandos of the world. It shows the various models and their icons for (I think) all the rifles in the game. The image is large, but that allows you to zoom in to see detail and choose properly. Also, because this game has so many rifles, I couldn't include all the color variations - just the model variations. Some may look like duplicates, but that's just because they have an added scope, etc. To find these search on your database site of choice (I use torhead), browse by weapon type "Blaster rifle" and then look through the icons to find an obtainable model. So, happy shootin' - for you or a companion! Hope it helps! Assault Cannon Models
  7. Hail, fellow imperial agents! I made a sniper rifle models guide which shows the various models and their icons for (I think) all the rifles in the game. 8. Wow, talk about an awesome explanation. Thanks for saving me the typing - and adding more than I knew!
  9. I've run probably hundreds of missions across my various characters in the elusive search for those "purple" crew skill items...cloth, metal, etc...leaving me with dozens (yes, dozens) of stacks of "blue" materials. The galactic market is flooded, so no adequate incentive to sell, and anyone who's grinding for purple schematics is already swimming in blue mats from grinding the mission skill up. It would be awesome if we could have a vendor on the fleets where we could exchange a certain amount of blue for purple crew skill materials. Even at 10 blue : 1 purple, I'd absolutely do it. Thanks for listening!
  10. Hi all, I made a blaster rifle models guide to help the Vanguards of the world. It shows the various models and their icons for (I think) all the rifles in the game. 11. Hi all, I made a blaster rifle models guide to help the Operatives of the world. It shows the various models and their icons for (I think) all the rifles in the game. The image is large, but that allows you to zoom in to see detail and choose properly. Also, because this game has so many rifles, I couldn't include all the color variations - just the model variations. 12. I'm a tank shadow, 31 Kinetic / 0 Infiltration / 10 Balance. I tank hard mode flashpoints only, no operations or pvp. 1. How do you think your Shadow spec is perceived by other classes? My jedi guardian friends are incredibly jealous of my shadow Everyone sees me as surprisingly effective as a tank, with good AOE tanking ability and nice versatility thanks to stealth/grapple. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? I love my shadow tank - I hold AOE and single-target threat well, and I take damage steadily without sudden health drops to scare my healer. I feel like I'm in control of the battlefield thanks to grapple, taunting, and targetable AOEs. I like that I'm a mini-range tank that isn't tied to the 4m range to be effective. There's a little bit of skill bloat but not too much (I never use battle readiness, potency, saber strike, tumult, or force slow). I almost never use force speed in battle, which is a shame, but it's too uncontrollable. I do wish the "dots" I use (slow time/force breach) had a more visible effect on mobs so I could see when they drop without staring at tooltips, and OMG, I want a matrix cube :(
  13. I play a level 50 healing sage: 32 Seer / 7 Telekinetics / 2 Balance. I heal hard mode flashpoints, no operations or pvp. 1. How do you think your Sage spec is perceived by other classes? Everyone seems to like my healing, because nobody dies. They see me as reliable, if a little boring. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? I like my spec very much, although running out of force if a fight goes badly can be a slight issue. Bubble and renew helps me mitigate tank damage while healing up DPS, and I feel in control of my healing and able to respond with my "oh crap" bubble/benevolence skills. The long cast time on force lift can be a little dodgy if I'm recasting crowd control during a tough fight, when I need to be healing.
  14. I play a level 50 Healer Operative: 33 Medicine / 3 Concealment / 5 Lethality. I do hard mode flashpoints, no operations or pvp. 1. How do you think your Operative spec is perceived by other classes? It seems to be perceived as a "do everything" class. Heal, crowd control everything, dps help. It's nice to be a jack of all trades, but if you try to do that, you become a master of none, and just because I have energy in my bar doesn't mean I should be dps'ing. We get decent respect as healers, which I like. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? I think healing often feels like busy work - lots of clicks and burning global cooldowns for little benefit. Having to use two global cooldowns to keep kolto probe up is just annoying, and needing to cast it twice makes healing group damage frustrating. DPS rarely chooses to stand still long enough to make recuperative nanotech useful, and boss mechanics don't encourage standing near each other. It's like the game mechanics are fighting me. I wish I had a proactive ability when I know damage will come (bubble/damage absorb) instead of relying on inefficient overhealing. I feel like everything I do is a reaction to something - damage, tactical advantage, staring at tooltips to see if I need to recast stim boost/probe - I don't feel in control of my healing, and that is frustrating.
  15. Any of the database sites (I personally use torhead.com) display the models, so just browse by weapon type until you see the icon you want. Glad it helps!
