  1. When you guys use force lightning which line from the movies do you quote? "Young fool, only now at the end do you understand." - Just before Palpatine zaps Luke. Or do you scream out loud; "Power! Unlimited power!" -While Palpatine zaps Mace. Or do you all just cackle maniacally? Being a Bounty Hunter, and a non-force user, was just curious what your favorite line is.
  2. 1. "We's a gonna get crunched." Basically anything Jar Jar said in any of the movies. 2. Obi Wan's wooden, forced laugh in the elevator in Ep. II. This makes me want to hunt down George Lucas and force him to watch the untouched original trilogy ala Clockwork Orange.
  3. Yes I believe eventually there will be. George Lucas most likely will not direct them but I am sure he will produce them. Look to your history. George Lucas has said this before. He once said he would never film anymore Star Wars movies after he made Return of the Jedi. Eventually he relented since film technology caught up to his vision. Money has a funny way of making things happen. I'm not saying he will do this anytime soon. It is going to be a long time before we see another Star Wars film, but it will someday happen. For a long, long time they said The Lord of the Rings will never be made into a film. Well look how that turned out. All it takes is the right time, right people, right money, and right conditions and it will happen. Never say never.
  4. It's a naval tradition also to address female and male officers by "Mr. " and then their last name.
  5. I tried telling you all in the last thread that you were setting yourselves up for a big let down, and that the textures in cutscenes were for just that: cutscenes. The game is amazing and I am going to keep playing. The texures look great and everyone in my guild is having a blast. Happy gaming!
  6. I think you are all setting yourselves up for a big letdown. I think the textures in game are here to stay and they will not be higher resolutuon textures anytime soon. If they exist and are available why aren't they turned on now? Possibly they are bugged, not finished, or were never intended to go into the game to keep as many customers with low end computers playing the game. The textures you are seeing in cutscenes are just for that, cutscenes. The textures you were seeing in pre-release videos and stills were for marketing promotions. Now don't get me wrong I love the game and I think it's amazing. I will not be going anywhere myself and plan on playing a long time. Happy gaming.
  7. This is great that they responded to this and I hate to be a stick in the mud, but if they do re-enable Hi Res textures won't that exclude even more players from playing the game? I know people with low end computers can choose to turn everything to low but they will still want to play with all the settings on high and get frustrated that they can't maybe causing them to leave the game. On the other hand if they leave the textures where they currently are that will exclude more players who have the computers to play at His Res textures maybe causing them to leave the game. Seems like a Catch 22 to me.
  8. I don't have to be a fan of the EU to be on the website.
  9. I am a fan of Star Wars. The movies. The entire EU is very ridiculous and rife with horrible and re-hashed plot points.
  10. A few things I remember from literature I read back in 77/78 after Star Wars released. The race of Yoda was known. I remember reading about what race he was and they named it. But now Lucas won't allow any speculation on this subject. Unfortunately I cannot remember any details or reference. It was a long time ago. Jabba the Hutt was orginally human. The orginal deleted scene from A New Hope shows Jabba the Hutt as a human when he is waiting for Han Solo at his ship. I think this was always intended and the term Hutt was some type of title for the man.
  11. This. My favorite was "Ghostcrawler hates Warriors because he got pwned by one, that's why Mages are overpowered." These inane posts made me laugh so hard.
  12. I'm staying also. The game does have it's buggy issues but they are minor and I am sure they will all be addressed, but it takes time to fix them. This game's cool/fun factor is far and above better than other MMO's I've played. My old long dead WoW Wrath guild has been reborn and I am playing with friends that I haven't played with in over a year. Rift wasn't able to do that. Cool factor example: I mean come on little droids hovering around you spraying healing solution on you as your group's healer heals you? How cool is that?
  13. My number one complaint is that I don't have enough time to play all my toons. Damn you BioWare!
  14. Wow. There are already a large number of servers, and they are adding a large number more. This game is getting huge.
  15. I would love to see the hinted at guild capital ships fighting it out. All guild memebers responsible for navigation, propulsion, gunnery, shields, fighting boarding parties - wow I mean the possibilities are endless.
  16. I like the space combat missions. It's just a taste of what's to come I think. I read somwhere and can't remember where, that BioWare has stated that their vision for the space missions was not realized due to not having enough time to flesh it out the way they wanted to. I am sure it will be expanded on and improved in future patches and expansions.
  17. Yeah I have to agree. It's really hard to describe how you felt during this scene today to younger people since awesome special effects and CGI are common place today. Seeing it for the first time was almost like watching a religous miracle taking place.
  18. This. I will never forget this when I first saw it in the theater. The entire audience was dumbstruck and I have never heard a "gasp" like that again in a movie as when Darth Vader said this line. Back in the day there was no internet and movie plot details were not leaked to the public like they are today. Even movie previews showed very little of plots. So this revelation was a complete surprize. I had to scour my issues of Starlog magazine for all information. This magazine was how I found out about Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Star Trek the Motion Picture, just to name a few. If you were a geek/nerd back then, and I was the biggest, Starlog magazine was the place to get all your Sci Fi/Fantasy news. I believe it is still in print today but could be wrong. It has been forever since I have seen a copy for sale.
  19. I disagree with the OP. The game is amazing. I am having a blast and plan on staying. Also I am sick to death of game comparisons. If WoW is so fantastic then stay there and play that. I played WoW for a long time and there was a time where I enjoyed it. I will not be going back.
  20. My Star Wars experience began one day in 1977 when my father and I were watching television and the first Star Wars commercial started. After it was over my mouth was hanging open in disbelief. I couldn't comprehend what we just witnessed. I saw Star Wars in the theater in 1977 with my friends in Middletown, CT. I was 15 years old. I went back 4-5 times and to this day have never gotten tired of it. I distinctly remember going to the same theater in 1980 to watch Empire Strikes Back with my brother and my cousin. The theater was packed solid and we had to sit in the front row but we didn't care. I saw that movie also 4-5 times in the same theater. I saw Return of the Jedi in Beaufort, SC (I was in military there) in 1983. To this day Return of the Jedi holds my personal record of seeing the same movie in a theater at 7 times. Return of the Jedi blew me away. I just could not get enough of the final space battle at the end. And now I am playing SWTOR and loving every bit of it.
  21. I agree with the OP. The game is amazing. Totally addicted and the plus side is my old guild from WoW is resurrected and I am playing with all my old WoW friends. Ran Hammer Station and Althiss I think it's called and they were both awesome. There are some problems with the game but I believe in time they will all be ironed out. I was sceptical at first about this game, but having played it solid since the 15th I am hooked. Line and sinker. Great job BioWare. Now just iron out all of the issues in the game and it will be even better. Can't wait to see what you have planned for this game in the future!
  22. Another thing comes to mind about that decade. Variety shows - like the Star Wars Christmas special were hugely popular back then. If you were a has-been celebrity and needed a career boost or a paycheck you did a "special" one time variety show. Today they would invent a "reality" show to accomplish the same end. Or it is was a great way for the networks (all three of them) to promote new talent. And of course there were many well established variety shows by popular celebrities, The Carol Burnett show being one of the best and most famous. So for that time period it was completly logical to premiere a cheap and fast variety show to promote a franchise or celebrity.
