  1. Nice! I like how you have to work for something for once, I hope Bioware continues this trend.
  2. I agree, it's a nice surprise. I hope they can stick with there 6 week update cycle - they'll have my subscription for a long time coming if they do.
  3. I'm glad they're out, personally. From what I saw on other games (WoW mostly) they brought more negativity than anything. And they were a pain to keep updated and such.
  4. Thanks for letting us know it's still being worked on, now I just gotta remember patience is a virtue.
  5. For me? The game warrants between a 7 - 8. The base of the game is great, considering they have 8 separate storylines to play through. I like the art style/graphics of the game and how it controls, the crafting system, the lore and conversations. There is room for improvement, though. I'd like to see more varied races, hood toggle, an open world PVP system that works, more character customization options ( though this ties to more varied races in a way). a revamped less star-foxy space section, and more busy work things to do outside of endgame and space missions. I'd like to see day/night cycles in planets and such, but I think we're too far past that point so I'll stick with the amazing skies we have now. Even still, when I play SWTOR I have more fun than in any MMO I've played before. Especially with friends. No game IMO comes close to the fun I have when playing my duo-exclusive character. Also: Agree with this pretty much.
  6. Same here. Don't plan on leaving anytime soon, either.
  7. Your motherboard has a slot for the GPU, so as long as your case can fit it then it'd work. I tried searching your motherboard but couldn't find anything about how much RAM it can hold. A lot of 2009 ones are capped at 4 GB RAM. May want to buy this RAM just in case it can only support 4, which would still be enough.
  8. An onboard GPU will give a bigger change, but even still with 2 GB RAM the game will have issues.
  9. Do you know what motherboard your using? If it has a PCI Express slot and accepts this type of memory memory (and assuming your case has enough space) this is the best upgrade I could find for $200: Graphics Card Power Supply (to run GPU) 8 GB DDR3 RAM But again, I can't say for sure if it will work until I know the case/motherboard your working with. If it works, then with that CPU you have you should be able to play the game medium settings without a hitch (well without the usual 1.4 stuttering that some people are getting).
  10. Came in here expecting something completely different than the OP. Kudos to you, OP, for putting a smile on my face. Just started myself and haven't seen one of those Rancors yet.
  11. I'm playing my new Bounty Hunter completely co-op with my Sith Inquisitor friend. Have no worries of Social Points
  12. Maybe make the mobs less pessimistic? In all seriousness, the world feels just like every other standard themepark game I've played but looks better. I still hear NPC's talking when passing through town, I see players running around the same area as me often, etc. The biggest thing IMO that Bioware could do is day/night cycles. But we all know this most likely isn't going to happen, so I'm clueless on solutions.
  13. Sadly, I and a few others brought up that this thread isn't about whether they should be included or not. Doesn't seem to get the point across. Thanks for the condensed version, though.
  14. After reading 5 pages of this thread, I'm just glad Bioware is developing SGR content. No need to debate it to death, really. All signs point to it's coming, just as it was in the recent Bioware games. People that wanted OPs/WZs got there content. Now it's time for some story content to be put in (SGR and Makeb).
  15. Sadly, from what I can tell, this game drew in a lot of those type of players. Maybe it's because it plays similar to a certain other MMO that is known for having that kind of community or maybe it's just because the game is/was (depending on who you ask) popular. But the SWTOR community is black and white from my experience. They're either what you described above or actually really helpful and competent in grammar. Best thing to do is join a friendly guild.
  16. Already pre-ordered From what I understand, GD books has a contract deal that'll include the updates in later books. Heheh, just realized I'm in the comments you linked.
  17. Using 6870/AMD Phenom II X4/8GB DDR3 RAM and never had a problem with the game before 1.4. Now I'm getting stuttering running around.
  18. 6870. Chat flickers every now and then and I get slight moments of stuttering that I didn't get before. Ironic, considering 1.4 was supposed to make crossfire more useful. From what I read it did the opposite.
  19. That's my point. As long as you don't level the same class on SWTOR, the quests you repeat from other characters is gonna be minimal, even less so if you buy exp boosters and such with your first main character on Legacy. Your actual story content is going to be unique, making leveling alts less of a grind than WoW's. You can't "skip" quests you don't want to do on WoW, as your going to be doing the same ones on most every character in the same faction no matter if your playing Mage, Warlock, Rogue, Warrior, etc. If you skip 1 quest in the Cataclysm zones, your gonna miss out on the 4 or 5 that follow in that chain, hurting your leveling experience. It wasn't like that until they redid the 1-60 content with Cataclysm, while in SWTOR you can skip non-story missions and not suffer such a big penalty. TL DR: WoW and SWTOR both have different leveling zones for each faction. WoW uses the same questing path with 2 different zones for that level bracket at most, but uses the same quests for every class in that faction. SWTOR has unique planets for each faction, and a good portion of the leveling experience individual to that class.
  20. I'm not unsubbing yet, I plan on staying ONLY because me and a friend are playing through a few classes and there storylines completely duo. Once we run out of pairs that we like playing together (which may take awhile since we're playing real casually), I don't see any reason to keep my sub going. I don't even play unless my friend gets on, mostly because I don't feel like leveling a fresh character and ruining one of the two stories we're playing and I'm finding endgame to be bland. So my $15 a month basically goes towards a mid level Sith Warrior who only gets played a few days a week at most. But when I play together with a friend, the game's great. I guess I'm looking at SWTOR as a co-op RPG that is going to get content added instead of being stagnate like other co-op games. If Bioware adds fresh content to do while leveling outside of kill quests and storylines, maybe like some actual RP and sandbox-natured elements, I'd consider keeping my subscription active even after we finish the storylines. A part of me wants to give Bioware $15 only to hope they'll improve the pace of updates, quality of updates, and community interaction too.
  21. It doesn't seem buggier, it is. Check this thread for known issues.
