  1. They dont care they'll whine and moan regardless. They need something to occupy their time since they aren't actually playing the game lol >.> But I love this actually. Another nice tiny bit of polish to add on to the game. And this is the first game I've personally seen have a customizable "Cooldown" appearance.
  2. I'm not saying critique is bad. In fact it's absolutely necessary for any MMO to thrive. But the way in which most people do it could certainly use some improvement. Most just spew out their displeasure while offering nothing back, nothing in return that could possibly help alleviate problems of any kind and serve only to clog up the forums with pure hatred.
  3. So your saying we cant be happy with it's strengths while still acknowledging it's problems and also acknowledging it will take time to fix them and in the meantime actually ENJOY the game? Instead of simply stewing on the forums like these problems are permanent and can never get fixed in any way while bashing BW constantly and unnecessarily even though they are indeed working to fix things?
  4. No I wasn't calling you a hater actually, that was aimed at the actual ones. I guess I didn't word that well enough. I'm not saying I am bashing every single person that doesn't agree with me. A lot of the people I've seen pointing out problems may be passionate but they at least make Valid arguments and reasons as to why they believe what they do and such and such, like you. I was talking about the people who do NOT provide any kind of constructive criticism. Or anything constructive at all. The people who simply post just to bash the Dev's or the people who dont bash along with them. THOSE are the people I cant stand. The ones who know only the bad parts of life and the only time they will ever praise something is if it is to spite another thing they hate more.
  5. It would seem like they care if they instead posted CONSTRUCTIVE posts instead of just flaming every single thing the Dev's fix/post/do in a wave of insults and crappy grammar. Yea the game has problems, we know that, but the haters are acting like it's the complete and total end of the world. And yes, compared to past MMO's, this one's launch has been exceptionally smooth in comparison. So, yes, they did at least learn SOMETHING from past MMO experiences, which even that is more then the Hater's would give them credit for.
  6. Haters gonna Hate AMIRITE? Thats all they ever gonna do because thats all they can do. Also +9001 I think it's great that they are fixing the bugs. And despite what every single needlessly-hateful person on these forums has to say, they ARE fixing them. They just dont like not having something to hate about. Keep up the good work Bioware and dont listen to the Peanut Gallery. The people who actually matter know your doing what your suppose to be.
  7. I have to admit the most annoying thing I've ever encountered is someone running outside range when I am healing. Granted in places like PVP it's sometimes unavoidable but still, it's nice when they dont . . .
  8. I use Ashara constantly. I know some may argue Andron does better damage and Khem can tank better . . . but I just plain think she's adorable. I like Togruta lol. And watching her force leap into battle with twin sabers blazing always makes me feel great. Especially when she jumps over my character from behind to do it. Makes for an epic Point of View shot lol. EDIT: Besides, she's not too bad. She does decent damage and since I have a tendency to load her up with Endurance stuff she's not too bad as a tank either.
  9. I knew Bioware would handle this properly. I told people that, they didn't listen. Sure some people wont ever accept it as truth even as it's laid out right here, but hey, haters gonna hate. Thats why they are haters. Good going Bioware excellent customer service as usual.
  10. Looks great to me! And Customizable UI is something I dont see often in games in depth like that.
  11. What about that "Instancing" thing? Could make a seperate, PVP-ized version of it specifically for Ilum to work for the population cap (And of course separate caps for each faction per instance). Also, and I dont generally like saying this even if it is true . . . but even if they dont do the rollbacks, even if they just let this go without rolling back who exploited the Valor gains and stuff and exploited what was essentially a bug in the game to spawn camp . . . well PVP Gear or not the PVP will still even itself out eventually once the exploit is fixed. Imp players who farmed and exploited their valor will quit due to boredom or Bawing or just plain butthurt, eventually the Pub's will start fighting back on the slowly-becoming-more-even playing field, slowly at first and gaining momentum perhaps (Because if Star Wars history has told us anything it's that the Republic is resilient if nothing else), they get more gear, more valor, and eventually become even with the "Depleted" Imp's. It happens in all games, PVP gear balances itself out. At first you have the outliers, then then others start catching up and making it the standard. And quite frankly most people dont get the concept that there ARE people this wont affect, like non-PVPers. Sure the PVP-oriented will bash anything PVE related but they are also the ones raging over this and making most of the fuss. So what people need to realize is that eventually things will balance out again, either through the Developer's hand or naturally like any other MMO game.
  12. Well . . . I think you just did my work for me there. I'm not saying Bioware hasn't screwed up to some degree but to think that this is irreparable is more then jumping the gun. They are simple fire-starters that love jumping down other's throats because it makes them think they are worth anything. But the fact of the matter is perhaps they DID fix this in the Test patch at the last minute after everyone had been complaining about it. But the Live Servers are not the same as the Test Servers. You can try and make them exactly the same in every respect but it wont happen, there will always be differences for any game this large between the Test and the Live. Most notably the amount of people and the fact the Test Servers are sometimes coded differently to allow them to be, well, TEST Servers. If you fail to realize that then perhaps even if my mind IS baked, it still works better then yours.
  13. Then please, list that, endow us all with this irony you failed to cite in that post. You go make an MMO of this scale. And make it absolutely perfect with no hitches at all and no problems what-so-ever to speak of, make every single person of the millions that play it happy and make sure they never have any need to complain at all. Go on, since it's so simple and easy, right?
  14. I like how people just automatically jump on this reletively easy-to-fix thing like it's the !@#$ing Armaggeddon. The people farming those poor Pubs (Or the Reverse if the Server is backwards lol) likely KNOW they are exploiting a faulty Patch Mechanic so I dont think we should give a crap about how they'd feel about a rollback after Bioware takes some time to consider it. I mean, it's not like they can just fix this relatively simple little thing if you just give them time right? NOPE the whole world is gonna end, baw baw cry cry etc. /sarcasm Seriously people, Bioware isn't stupid, despite what your baked little minds process them as. Anyone who's worked in technological-based companies knows you cant rush these things or you risk causing bigger problems.
  15. They could perhaps use powerful NPC soldiers to even the balances out for either side, if one side outnumbers the other. As in, for example, if there is 10 Republics and 20 Imp's then give the Pub's 10 additional NPC soldiers. I think I've seen a game or two that used a similar tactic to decent effect . . .
  16. Well this is all fine and dandy and what not but if 50's didn't get their own PVP then everyone ELSE would simply QQ constantly about having to face them, so it's a matter of the Internet having a population that will never be 100% satisfied. A few people dont seem to have much faith in Bioware. They've obviously done their homework on game mechanics for MMO's, they know at least mostly what they are doing despite a few out-standing whiners drowning out everyone else with their screams that "OMG THEY RUINED TEH GAMEZ CUZ I TINK MAI WAI IZ BET0rz N DEY DUN BLEEVE ME I QUIT!!111one". Besides all this is the fact the game is literally barely a month old. Where were other big-time MMO's at this stage after their launch? Probably in an ACTUAL "Bad" condition, most likely. Not some make-believe one lots of people here seem to have their mind enshrouded in. People need to remember, just because it's your opinion or idea doesn't make it automatically the best way to do something . . .
  17. Besides the fact that anyone who has even an ounce of working brain matter in their SKULL realizes that Bioware has done far more amazing things then Blizzard has. Yea sure, Blizzard is famous for . . . WoW. Starcraft. Diablo. Thats about it. But BioWare is famous for dozens of games all over the board, all over the world: Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age, the ORIGINAL KoTOR game (marked as one of the best games ever created mind you . . .), among others. Almost all of them groundbreaking and revolutionary games. And BioWare, in the past few years, was also bought out by EA, another massive Developer of groundbreaking games. The Battlefield Series, Burnout Series, Command and Conquer series, Need For Speed series, the Metal of Honor games . . . anyone ever heard of The Sims games? The most popular and successful Computer game series in history? Yea, you know what, compared to Bioware/EA I wouldn't trust Blizzard with a piece of string, let alone the rights to making a Star Wars game. if you think Bioware cant make a good game, when the game your PLAYING by them is quite amazing, then get out. You obviously dont know what your doing with your life, and you certainly dont have any sense about games. BioWare knows how to do things right, whether you WoW-Rager-Defenders want to admit it or not.
  18. Wow man talk about an over-reaction . . . but whatever, bye. No one will miss someone as rash as you. I wonder if many people realize Slicing is still useful in other areas . . . aside from the crew tasks used to get Boxes of money and such, you can still get whats essentially free money from the nigh-plentiful slice-able boxes littering the galaxy. I made tons of credits on my travels just prying open the ones I came across while questing. Thats in addition to the stuff that can be gotten for Cybertech creations, it can also be used to gain specialty missions for the other Mission skills, as well as certain rare Items. Just like any other mission skill. Thats on top of the fact, as many have stated, it was essentially doing almost nothing and getting massive amounts of free credits with nothing more then a little overhead to get it all started. Like I said, I wondered if many people realized the other uses of slicing, but given the rash actions of the Thread-starter, I doubt that anyone with his tact OR temperament would bother using their brain to think of things, I dont know, OUTSIDE their baked little penned-world of "I'm always right and things need to be this and my word is almighty and blah blah blah".
  19. Well reading this long thread and what not gave me this strange little idea . . . Maybe *GASP* it's the player playing the class who determines how good it is. I hear tons of people love Guardian, I hear masses of others say they despise it . . . Well, maybe, JUST MAYBE (This is a hunch now, I dont know for sure /sarcasm) your just not tuned to the class. I know people cant say I am wrong when there are always those classes in MMO's people just "Click" to. They play them well, they beat the crap out of everything and basically just be a boss about the whole journey. On the other hand, there is always those who dont fare well naturally with some classes. They hate the feel, the way it plays, the skills and cant seem to use any good combination of anything no matter how hard they bother to try. Basically, if you suck, well then you suck. If your great at it, then your great. And quite frankly there is too many people who defend the class and point out VALID reasons as to why it is good to place every single ounce of blame on BioWare, as if they deserved any. And from this evidence, basically, if you suck at the class, thats your own fault and no one else's. If your gonna whine on the forums be prepared to be chewed out by people who ACTUALLY know the game at least somewhat decently.
  20. I want to start out with a few things. First off I dont know if anyone else made a thread like this yet. Hell, there probably has been but I couldn't find it among the tens of thousands of other ones. Anyway . . . I am a massive Star Wars fan. It's one of the few things I will actively gloat about being. I am such a nerd that Wookieepedia is my most visited site. That during dull times at work I fantasize about Star Wars stories and scenes, imaging what could be happening in that massive Galaxy. I've read, watched and experienced all walks of the Star Wars Legacy, from the Rakata Empire and the Old Republic, to the New Republic Era and the Yuuzhan Vong War, to the Legacy Era with Darth Krayt and the One Sith, and the Skywalker lineage getting some Zeltron tail. I am also a fairly avid MMO junkie. I cant say I am a master at actually playing but I learn quickly about the technical and informational side of games and often find myself in the role of support and tactical gameplay (Healers, buffers, CC's, etc, which I am here too as an Inquisitor as my main), anything keeping other players between me and the enemy while still helping them take on said enemies. I've played plenty of other games, mostly computer ones, being that Computer's are the most versatile platforms for gaming. I have a few favorites. But no game ever created so far had ever captivated me so much in the idea about as The Old Republic. When it first surfaced in the world past simply being a dare-say Rumor (Alongside a KOTOR 3 and all that jazz), I watched with anticipation I never had for any other game. This is the only game I ever followed all the way through it's creation. I clinged onto every shred of detail or information I could get about it's development like some kind of starving Boma beast. A Star Wars Epic based in the Old Republic Era? MMO? Bioware and Lucasarts behind it? You bet your *** I was thrilled. When I heard earlier this year it was getting released, I was skeptical at first, mostly because it had been pushed back so far. I wasn't really disappointed so much as I was ravenous to be able to play this game that I had been waiting so long for (And the teasers the Dev's kept throwing at us did not help keep me sane at all >.> ). And when the release date came, I nearly jumped for joy. I pre-ordered a Collector's Edition and waited, and still watched those darn Trailers like I enjoyed torturing myself or something . . . When it finally did get here, I got my Early Access. I spent like 2 days downloading because my crappy net kept giving out. Then I logged in. I saw it all, those opening cinematic, and watched just as enthralled as I was the first time I ever saw them. Made a character, logged in, and saw just how beautiful the game looked, and immediately found the Voice acting pulling me into the story arc. The controls took a bit of work to get use to but they are responsive and fluid, and all the movements and abilities and attacks and whatnot are astonishingly well rendered. The Environments, from the Jungles of Dromund Kaas, to the towers of Coruscant, to the slum holes of Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa, to the deserts of Tattooine, it was breathtaking. You'd look at them and just see the sheer scope of it all. The detail, every single little tiny bit of it was evident. Everything looked so vibrant and portrayed the feelings they were suppose to perfectly. Long rant short, I love it already. This is me. This is my personal "Thank You" to everyone at Bioware and everyone else who helped make this game a reality. I dont know if they'll see it, I doubt they even will. but it will be here. This game is amazing, and even if it does have a few problems here and there, what MMO doesn't? And when it first came out? Everyone I asked that question has never been able to tell me an example. Or at least cite a valid bit of evidence. And this game is only beginning. This Journey, OUR Journey, all of us. It's only starting. And there is a whole Universe out there waiting . . . This is Star Wars. This is the Old Republic. /rant
  21. Ehh, your just a guy with your own opinion I guess. Everyone has them, even if some are wrong . . . >.>
  22. Yea, PVP is Broken alright and all this and blah blah and etc. Bioware has no chance to ever add new content! No new planets or instances, no new PVP options or zones or anything after letting the game run for SO LONG to gain insight to what players might want or what might benefit the game, it's too late for them! I mean, it's not like the game was just released, right?!? /Sarcasm I mean seriously, people should TRY and use their brains perhaps instead of just jumping strait to trolling and whining. Bioware isn't stupid, and this game has massive potential even beyond what most people realize.
