  1. The 10 cc was fine for an average player, but the real problem was going to be with bots and grinders staying in the same area killing the same elites over and over to grind CP. Changing it was going to be needed. However, 1 CP isn't worth it. My solution: Bring back the 10 cp per elite kill, but track the mobs killed on your character, and after a certain point no longer award cp for that kill until after a daily or weekly reset. This prevents overgrinding, stops bots from farming cp, and rewards exploration of a lot of content that no one goes through anymore. Apologies if this solution is in the main thread about gold elites, but that thread is now 250 long and I'm not going to waste that much time.
  2. I don't do twitter, but thanks for the link. Literally everyone in that twitter chat who made a comment on the quality of that coat, said that it looked terrible, was a disappointment, didn't look like Okarr's duster, etc. Lots of comments about how lazy EA is. The picture is just sad, like they knew how bad it was. You see way more detail on HK in the foreground. Some people in the chat even begged for @SWTOR to fix it. (And it wasn't.) No one on fleet on my server is wearing it, except temporarily as a bad fashion joke.
  3. I never said they'd win 3 times in a row, I said good luck on a third win.
  4. It's not free if you paid money for it. They put zero effort into this. This was a EA reaching into your wallet. Literal fact that EA was voted worst company in America. Twice. For reasons that are exactly like this situation. Pre-order required for all content. Oil companies lost out to EA as worst company of the year. They don't want you to wear the coat, or pve or pvp gear. They make it look bad, on purpose, so you buy more cartel packs, which is where you'll find all the effort to make things look good. Keep defending EA. Never Change.
  5. I subbed early to get the coat. I don't care about the sub fee. I drop 100$ for cc coins every couple of months. I was happy about a new duster, which turned out wasn't new at all, or even something that looked good on it's own. It'll look good with another 20$ of cc, which will get me a black/black dye. But I'll just keep my troublemakers duster for that, which is 98% exactly the same coat.
  6. It doesn't look like the one worn in the cinematic. It doesn't even have a unique skin. Devs just put a ugly, off color tan onto the duster "family", which has been around since beta. Doesn't even come close to the same color as the "painting" of Nico, to get people to resub early. Devs purposefully showed the back of the duster, not the front, while advertising early resub benefits, because then we would have known what a cheap piece of crap it was. Glad I subbed early. Now my toon knows what to wipe his *** with if we ever run out of tp in the refresher. Thanks for the ugly plastic coat guys. EA. Worst company in America, 2 years in a row. Good luck on getting a third win this time around.
  7. The real answer to this question is 5.5 % alacrity, plus or minus a little bit depending on your ping. That will get you enought time to land that unstoppable ravage. Theory crafters will tell you it's impossible, but they tend to forget alacrity will benefit both the gcd and the ravage itself.
  8. Because getting a constant supply of fresh 60s who don't know how to pvp makes the endgame that much more fun. No need to learn about pvp beforehand. Just pve until 60, and then pvp. When people tell you how bad you are, remind them that you killed Darth XXXXX and all the npcs in the game know that you are a HERO and that you already know what you are doing.
  9. It's like putting someone in check while playing chess. Sure, they can escape, but what do they have to sacrifice to do so? It's probably not worth it for other specs, but it is a key part of the veng/vig builds. Getting them to burn their cool downs early, in reaction to you, is what shifts the meta in your favor.
  10. My two cents; 1) No one is going to throw away their 55 pvp gear. A) They will legacy gear it over to new toons 2) Midbie pvp is important A) It is where people learn to actually pvp, lowbies is for learning basic stuff B) People choose to level via pvp-supported by game mechanics via legacy perks to increase exp from warzones C) Without midbies, you'll get even more people in 60s pvp that are completely clueless D) It is (or was, not anymore for 30-54s) a fun part of the game E) Midbies, for pvp oriented players, is where the new players will decide to keep playing, subscribe, or stop playing Conclusion; This problem will not go away on its own, and this problem has a large, detrimental effect on the player base. Current after effects; Veteran players making new pvp toons have been reduced, new players are discouraged and quit, resulting in less people queuing for midbies, which means longer waits for people who actually do que for it. People in the 60s bracket wondering why there are very few new players for pvp. Everybody loses.
  11. Sorry about the delay, wz pop, it's in the GTN now
  12. I don't think anyone on this server actually makes them, but I've got one or two left. I'll make sure there is one in the GTN in case you'd want to buy it as well.
  13. Sweet, thank ya. I've only ever seen two people on this server besides myself use them, Lepprosy on her mara and I think a guardian somewhere. I'm using the advanced purple war hero one myself currently, glad to see someone out there likes the original saber colors and not all those weird cartel outline color stuff. Happy hunting!
  14. If you're looking for some of those "original" blue war hero crystals, I can put some in the AH at that price. I'll put a regular blue and a cyan blue in there for ya. Buy em or not, it's all good.
  15. (Originally posted in the Beg. Colony forums, had some vengence stuff, so thought I would post it here in case anyone is interested.) Malakise here, (Warning, bad speller alert) Upcoming changes to SWTOR (which I don't want to talk about here) have prompted me to unsub and uninstall, and I just wanted to say goodbye, as well as explain a few things that I discovered and kept mostly to myself, mostly for vengence pvp. Goodbye to all my friends in Constant Rage, and Deadly Obsession, and an especially fond goodbye to Aphro, Lepp and Sparty. Roleplaying with Ron'Mcdonald It was really fun interacting with you rpers from time to time with my alt, Ron'Mcdonald. My hat is off to all of those who took it in stride, and roleplayed with me, even though I was a scary food clown. I like rp servers on most games, not because of the rping, but because of the stronger communites that they tend to create. I thought of Ron not so much trolling, as more of a test, which some of you failed, and many of you passed splendidly. It's been said before, but ignored or forgotten, so it bears repeating: There is almost no diffrence between unranked and ranked armor stats. You can a full set of unranked armor in less than a week of pvp, and that's with hitting 55 with just the capped comm limit with no funny buisness. You can also milk the 45th level mods for a very long time. There is literally no reason to complain about your gear, or other people gear, or use that as an excuse for how things went down. The biggest diffrence is gear sets that have augs, and having the correct mods and enhancements for your spec, (unranked or ranked) and those that don't. Just plan for that, and you'll be fine. Alot of people suffer from what I refer to as the "Wow" mentality, wherein there is only one acceptable way to gear, but I'd argue that SWTOR has alot of flexibility. Some stat stuff that people say is bad, but actually can kick ***: Alacrity: The magic number is 5.5% ish, depending on server ping. That's enough to give you full unstoppable through your entire ravage after a leap. People theorycrafting will tell you that's not enough, but it actually is, since alacrity is applied to both the global cooldown and the channel. Vengence is a gimmick spec, in all honesty, either your oppenent knows the gimmick, and can shut you down, or is a noob and eats the last tick of ravage. Getting alacrity to the point where you retain unstoppable through the whole ravage makes it a heck of a lot less gimmicky. Most people, even experianced pvpers, time their stun based on the ravage, not the unstoppable buff. (Especially against vig guards since their version of unstoppable is just a blue glow, like all their other abilities.) The "best of the best" pvpers will notice, which means they will use their avoidance abilities, not stuns to negate the ravage. That's still benificial, since burning those cooldowns early shifts the meta more favorably towards the vengence jugg. Crit Crit was basically halved in 2.0, which makes everyone automatically hate it. What people never seem to notice was the diminishing returns on crit. With every other stat, diminishing returns can be charter with a sharp curve realitively early. Crit, along with absorb, is far more of a straight line. What this means, is that it is almost useless to use a little bit of it, but stacking it actually end up being pretty good. Eventually it does curve off, like all diminishing returns, but the value of that ends up being around 30% off of crit alone, not including main stat and buffs, etc, so getting crit to the actual point of diminishing returns detrimentally affecting it never really happens. Basically, between the unstoppable full ravage, the extra crit, and well as timing relic procs, you end up making someone (preferably a healer) have a very bad day. Thats all I can think of to say, thanks for reading, I'll be posting this in the jugg forums as well, in case anyone there is interested. Thanks for three years of more or less fun!

  17. The real problem is that the EA/Bioware monster has, for the past 3 years, been painfully slow to address balance issues, and when they finally do make changes, those changes are far too heavy handed. They never learned to take "baby steps", consistent yet small changes, to balance pvp. Therefore, the real question is, will the Discipline system help or hinder them in this regard? I think it might actually help, since with the new system they could more easily tweak individual abilities, but to take advantage of it they'd still have to be far more proactive. Pvp Dev Team: Here is something to help you out. Your welcome.
  18. What part of "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away" is confusing for you? Also, if you had seen the movies, you would know that Luke burned Vader's body. More importantly, every legit hack that is exposed on the forums, ends up being deleted by the moderators. That's the modus operandi for the head-in-the-sand development that EA always does. It's not a coincidence that it was voted worst company in America, two years in a row. By comparison, a scam company like cash-for-gold was only a runner up in those same polls.
  19. That plant you live on must be huge, like the size of a planet or something. Also, people work hard for their reputations, and their names are how they are recognized. With your less than clever solution, I could make a toon with your name, and let the *******ery commence. No thanks.
  20. I know it seems cruel, but I was kinda hoping whoever designed the pvp armor sets (ob and brute) was fired, or demoted, or moved to another department. For the most part they look like crap. But it's probably intentional, as a steering mechanism towards the cartel market.

    We need a raise

I'd totally be up for a revamped pvp credit reward system, although in an objective based warzone, alot of the time you end up having to sacrifice all those pretty medals and dps numbers in order to play smart. So while not perfect, it would be better than the current system, and you'd have my support. There is always going to be that problem: Whichever criteria you use for rewarding credits, that is going to be what the players are going to gravitate towards, to the detriment to everything else. You'd need to keep it simple. My sugjestion, should they ever go this route, is to reward based on wins and losses, and if the "8 medal" maximum has been achieved, capping out at 8 medals just like pvp comms. MVP: Just no. Getting extra income off of mvp votes is a really bad idea, just like the extra comms you get. People vote for their friends, people trade votes, etc. It's an abused system already, and adding money will break it even further.

    We need a raise

It's not a yes or no situation, it's a sliding scale. The closer to profitability you make pvp, the greater the number of credit farmers you're going to have. They look at the zero effort they need to put in, and compare that to the credits earned. Doubling the credits earned, like some in this thread have sugjested, will most certainly breach that threashold for many of them.

    We need a raise

You guys seriously don't seem to get it, so I'll break it down for you. Right now, people who pvp, pvp for fun. People who farm money will not pvp. If pvp were profitable, people who don't like/care about pvp, would pvp when they need money. It happened back when you could reverse engineer certain pvp implants for expensive mats. They were the afkers, they were the people who couldn't be bothered to gear correctly, they had no intrest in a good match, they made pvp miserable. You can't stop them from queing, and you can't put them on ignore to avoid them like pve. So no. No raise for you. Keep the income from games low.

  25. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood for Huttball. If you want a punishment system for quitters, then allow us to que but skip over Huttball pops. Sometimes Huttball is fun, especially with friends, but it's not pvp, not even close. It's all about the pulls, and all about the immunities to roots/snares/stuns, and some classes and specs are just plain better for it, and some are just plain worse. Add that to the increasing pile of "what needs to happen" before a punishment system actually comes into play.
