  1. You know what...I decided to bite. No force in the universe can allow you prove that he's wrong when he says that: ---> HE <--- can't solo Heroics... Just saying... (and yes, it's called a hyperbole... an emotion... cool eh?)
  2. IGNORE that guy? You're nicer than me, Minty_Freshness. I'd certainly want to do something other than IGNORE a person messing with my food and water...
  3. Agreed, Avalyssia. I've ended friendships IRL with people like that. This is the pattern of most conversation with this kind of person: Step-1 = Prove to me what you are saying is true. I find the article / quote / video / news report. Step-2 = This is why it doesn't count...
  4. Lost of false modesty here. Apparently, some people think that because they can do content easily, and post videos, ergo, everyone can do it... ...they'd be wrong...
  5. I wouldn't suggest engaging. That person basically called KrazieFox a liar. So, it's obvious this isn't a conversation with that person. Totally keep posting, CombatLord. I tend to agree with you btw. I just suggest to not respond to posters like that. It's not a real discussion. Your call though.
  6. That sounds GREAT! Should be put in the suggestion box. I'm in...
  7. Well, there's tons of movies, for a while now, that are all about young adults and their adventures (Twilight, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Divergent, etc...). When I complained about it to my teenage daughter, she hugged me, gave me a kiss, and said "Papa, I'm sorry, but you are no longer the target market." I'm guessing with SWTOR 4.0 and some... (many?)... other MMOs out there, that challenge seekers are no longer the target market. And, if people's complaints are real that most games are being "dumbed down", then that's spreading in the industry because suits think faceroller money > challenge seeker money (whether it's true or not)... Fortunately for me, what I lost in movies, I gained in games. I LOVE easy faceroll (insert new kid word) games... i.e. Yay me re: 4.0... EDIT = Oh, and I've played Mass Effect / Baldur's Gate / The Force Unleashed / etc... on easiest settings. It didn't affect my experience of the story at all...
  8. I'll stop about level synch when people stop asking to nerf companions. I like things faceroll easy. Level synch is away from that. Companion power increase is towards that. If both sides accepted things as they are, I'd suck up the level synch more. But there's almost as many threads asking to nerf companions as there are to remove level synch (with opposition in both threads, of course). If others don't accept the new companion state, I won't accept the new level state...
  9. I 100% agree, but as soon as that person put "outweigh", it became a value judgment and, you can't get a person to budge from a value judgment. Ex: You could do math showing that instead of finishing the "kill 5,000 mobs" legacies in 2 hours, say, it now takes you 6 hours under level synch... the response will be "Still doesn't outweigh the bonuses". I do believe the problems outweighs the benefits, TX_Angel, but I don't think you will find enough to agree here...
  10. As much as I agree, I don't think asking will work. The following is a CONCEPT PIECE, but doesn't have practical parts because, well, facts people would tear it apart anyways. The only way level-synch would be removed is if it becomes cost-ineffective to maintain : 1-Take an Oprah Winfrey (yeah, I'm dating myself) popularity level player. S/he has a non-EA board i.e. EA board mods can't stop the posts. 2-S/he then puts strategies that are built on level synch that puts the Risk / Time vs Reward way out of whack, forcing EA to do bans + patch to rework Level Synch. 3-Then, redo a new strategy that fits the patch changes in step 2-. Often. Force EA/BW to whack a mole the problem every single week (say). The cost are lost subs / CC purchases (due to bans), and time / resources for devs. 4-If revenue loss + time / resource loss is significantly high, they can either undo level synch, or close the game. IF... As I said, no details. Will it happen? No. Not at all. Not ever. But in this imaginary world that exists only in my mind if level synch were to be removed, the above is how I'd see it happen. Asking will not work, sadly. NOTE = I have a higher chance of seeing weeping angels fly out of my (where the sun don't shine) before the above happens, but there you go.
  11. This. So much this. Thank you OathboundCoH for expressing the option I totally would want to have in that quest series...
  12. TLDR = I agree masterduragon. People suck, in game and IRL, mostly because they want to tell you how to talk and behave to their satisfaction. Their behaviour in game / on boards mimics their behaviour IRL. I think the responses just to your grammar pretty much tell you all you need to know.
  13. Hey, I'd love it if SWTOR fully rebranded itself as a single player game. Can't see it happening though. Sidenote = even though I emphasize the latter point in bold, underlined, and red, I find it amusing that, on a prior post with the same format, the very next post that quoted me was about... how it wouldn't happen... (not talking about you Mikahrone, just another poster... heh...)
  14. Thank you very much. In all fairness, I think there should be descriptors of, say, "game experience" i.e. "gameplay focus" and "interactive experience" i.e. "cutscenes with choices" so that people wanting gameplay aren't bored out of their skulls skipping every scene and I'm not bored killing X mobs, or grouping up for objective Y when I just want to choose which of the next cutscenes apply to the story... I don't see it happening because the product makers want BOTH populations of people to buy the product...
  15. As much as I agree with you, Mikahrone, I wouldn't suggest putting yourself in the position to explain to SOMEONE ELSE'S satisfaction what you do with your own money. They'll always try and logic you away from what you want to do. As if logic matters to me IRL. For example = I personally pay $15 a month to SWTOR because = "Blue mostly." I'll be surprised if they get the quote, Google or not...
  16. Bioware, I'm very happy with the reduced difficulty level. Thank you. I enjoy it just as it is. Heck, if you made it easier, that'd be fine too. Oh, and if I am the minority player (as an ultra-casual)... if... then I'm apparently being catered to... over the majority! THAT'S AWESOME! MORE PLEASE!
  17. No. I'm too chicken to try. "Where choices matter" Chapters, and, well, it's an MMO. I can't just do I what I do for single player games = download the, say, Morrowind Code Patch mod and the like and fix the Morrowind issues myself. And, well, I really didn't want to, say, go through chapters 1-9... lose the gifts / romance / roleplay aspect, only to have a non-retroactive patch fix things, but not for me. So yeah, you're right... no way to be sure...
  18. Well, another game I'm playing right now is Marvel Heroes, that rebranded itself to Marvel Heroes 2015. The point? Some MMOs or other games rebrand and do direction shifts. It's my dream that they will rebrand SWTOR into KOTOR 3, "online only for DRM purposes". IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! (If I could make that last bit flash in 3D... I would... Hey... be happy my luddite self found the color... red... hehe...) ...but it's a cool dream... for me anyways...
  19. Fair enough re: board posts. Movie wise, lets say, some of us are unlucky enough to have people drag us, kicking and screaming, to see stuff we don't want... in my case, a wife and daughter making me see Twilight. And Divergent. And Hunger Games... Again, I agree with your main point, but I suspect most Twilight (or other franchise) haters are being "dragged" there by friends and family. Me being me, though, I'm still pondering what my wife and daughter will see in return... Something mindless and bloody for sure... heh...
  20. It happened to me as well with Kira and my Jedi Knight. Any chance it's the changes in conversations with companions i.e. being Chapter based instead of affection (now influence based)? Here's my anecdote to be clear. I never played Kira much. She was like... 400 ish affection. So, I go, Flirt with Lana, no problem (I think) since I haven't romanced Kira yet. Then, I hear that 4.0 will clear old quests, so THEN I romance Kira, marriage, etc... From then on, I never Flirt again. Could the problem be the shuffling. I.e. How I did it = Flirt Lana --> Flirt Kira --> Marry Kira (everything is fine, I have the Romance Companion Gifts numbers) Then, 4.0 hits, so the game incorrectly assumes I did the Kira options first, ergo = Flirt Kira --> Marry Kira --> Flirt Lana --> Kira assumes I cheated and ends the marriage / romance. Because now, I definitely only have Favourite influence on Luxury gifts with Kira, instead of Love influence on Luxury gifts like I had. Now, note: I'M TOTALLY GUESSING HERE... and if I missed posts that already brought this up, I'm sorry...
  21. I've tried Google, and can't find any major threads about it, so I'm sorry if this is findable and I missed it... Only on SWTOR website do I have this problem. I log-in as Dalris Thane... and can access account, etc... but as soon as I click on a page to post... the upper right section shows me as logged out even though I JUST logged in. Same thing if I click reply. Furthermore, when I click reply, it says "You have to log in" (paraphrased), so I click that... and instead of the log-in screen, it shows me as already logged in... yeah that's not confusing. So I log out, log in again. Doesn't work. Clear cache. Clear cookies. F5. Shift F5. Nothing. Switching between IE, Chrome and (an un-updated, granted) Firefox... no joy. But I can log into the game, no problem. Account (non-website)? Np. Buy CC? Np. Just not the forums. OR settings about those forums (in case that's important). Then, couple hours later... I can post again... obviously. Since there aren't many threads or Google pages about it, I assume it's just me. Any idea what I should be looking at? No other boards or social media does this with my computer. Any setting that I missed could be the issue? Any help would be appreciated. (Again, sorry if it's asked a lot and I missed the answers.)
  22. Well, they've taken a few elements from GW2 (among other games) with the level synch. I wouldn't mind a GW2-like account wallet re: Crystals and other currencies... Seeing as how the game is being redefined, I'd like that...
  23. Exactly. Unless phalczen means that if you re-buy the recipe, the "new" recipe might be ok. However, I'm not brave enough to waste 500 comms to buy the "new" recipe to find out.
