  1. Been struggling with this for a while now, I'm currently sitting at 34.2% crit, with 101% accuracy (3% from skill). I was at roughly 35.8% crit before and felt it might have been a bit heavy so lowered it for more power. Haven't really noticed that much of a difference so far need to go on a few more runs. What's everyone else's thoughts on crit rating? What % are u usually going with? As for accuracy, is 101% too much? Ive read conflicting info about getting higher for certain ops bosses, and others that say 99%-ish is more than enough. Wondering if I should swap an accuracy enhancement for surge

  4. Power, you're DPS and power contributes to higher output of that. Endurance will give you slightly more survivability but you'll be gimping yourself in your role as dps.
  5. No I am, I had a mix of shield, absorb and def augs to reach 29/50/50, I was just swapping augs basically. So, sorry I think I'm confused now...I should follow the ratios, but shouldn't mess too much with mitigation? For my specific case, I'm hovering around 29.40% defense, 50.4% shield, and 49.8% absorb. If I were to swap 3xshield augs, and 1xabsorb aug all for defenses, I would be at 30.6/49/49. Which would then be the farthest I can go (i think) because like you said defense doesn't compete with shield/absorb and I only have def and absorb augs left. This is just an attempt at getting closer to your earlier explanation that defense is our most valuable stat. It's not much of a change, only 1% shield/abs for 1% def so not sure if it even matters. But did I understand it wrongly?

I'm finding it very hard to match the numbers, I'm trying to lower my shield/abs evenly to those levels, absorb I can drop easily, but shield comes with every piece of enhancement so it seems like I will always have more shield than absorb. I'm at roughly 656/689/387 (def/shield/abs). How can I swap shield for defense? Is there a workaround I'm not seeing?
  7. I realize this is a terrible move for any spec in PvE, and an absolute last last resort for tanks - but last night I also realized we potentially need BOTH taunts just to use it? First it does a threat reduction when used, so we have to burn one taunt, then every subsequent hit also reduces threat so there's a good chance we have to blow another taunt when the first one wears off? If it's true it doesn't even seem worth it in most situations and pretty risky to use even as a last resort…or am I doing/understanding it wrong?
  8. no one on my server crafts the guardian hilt 27 yet (i don't think anyone is even bothering), i've noticed most tanks just using might 27 - is it for this reason? Better threat generation aside from taunt stacking?
  9. Thanks Kitru, if that's the case and we prioritize defense over shield/abs, does that mean you would advocate using the PT set bonus for the +2% defense over the warrior tank set bonuses? Since that's taking a full 2% defense over a boost in our absorb ability.
  10. Hey Kitru - I think I remember you saying you have a jugg tank? If so how closely do you follow the numbers here? I have roughly 1800 budget now stacked to 29/50/50. If I were to follow this, I'd have roughly 33/45/45, is this really the way to go for juggs? Doesn't stacking so much defense end up with the jugg having very spiky dmg? It's a question for anybody but Kitru always gives the most thorough answers so wanted to try picking his brain a little
  11. Thanks! wow 30k hp, thats super high for juggs, thats more like sin hp pool isnt it? Is your hp spiky at all with 52/42 shield/absorb? Might actually give that a try, with riposte and quake thats a pretty decent chance of complete avoidance To my knowledge ephesia is correct. It first rolls accuracy vs defense, if that fails then it rolls shield chance, IF your shield succeeds then you absorb the % you have. There's also tons of other factors like crit etc that fits into the first roll I believe, but dont remember the specifics. There's data for it all over you can just google it

  13. Hi, I have a Jugg tank in 19/22 hybrid spec, currently in mostly 61's with some 63's. My buffed stats right now are as follows: 28.66% Defense 50.80% Shield 50.17% Absorb My guild is a little behind right now and doesn't really run HM TFB yet, so I usually have to pug it or find crafters to get BiS 63's. I've been holding several stabilizers now but want to know what to do to improve my tank next. Do I need to move some shield/absorb out for more defense? Swap some mods for B versions for the endo? I remember reading the thread over at mmomechanics that says stacking defense is best for juggs, but I just dont like the spikiness it ends up doing, so to be nice to my healers I've been getting relatively high shield/absorb. I realize this is more of an open ended question as there doesn't seem to be a definitive 'best' way to gear any tank, but just wanted to get some opinions preferably of those that are working on the latest end game or are already farming it.   14. Starting to see a few rage juggies pop up on torparse for HM ops, including ec and tfb - which is awesome! Wondering what's your stat distribution like? Is it pretty similar to PvP just without the expertise? Just for kicks I switched to rage doing dailies wearing my Veng optimized gear and I was already hitting trash for 6-7k, of course I had a lot of useless-for-rage-crit gear, and prolly some excess accuracy too, but it was super fun and I want to have a 2nd gear set just for rage now - so any help would be appreciated
  15. There's some discussion here at MMO Mechanics about the new Dread Guard Clicky + DG Proc being BiS for snipers. I've personally been running with DG Clicky + Matrix because of the strength and extra crit rating, anyone know if the same concept applies to us? Anyone still running with the matrix? Or dropped it long time ago?
  16. Jugg DPS is very good - this myth that we can't dps only helps us IMO. Last time I pugged a TFB HM they were hesitant to bring me and obviously had very low expectations (raid lead said they'll swap if we struggle with dps - obviously aimed at me), I ended up topping the DPS charts over their sniper, merc and mara. Low expectations = can only suprise them . There was also a thread on the forums here somewhere about some guy min-maxing both jugg and mara dps, and the juggs DO top a bit shorter than the mara. But in the end this is fairly insignificant unless you're in one of those elitist guilds who take the day off of work just to be the first kill or something... tl:dr; any class is good if you learn and play it correctly, so just play what you like
  17. Does anyone know what the exact range for melee is? I've seen 10m before and 2m or 4m in this thread, what's the definitive number? For boss fights when would be the best time to use your first taunt? From what I've read above it sounds like the best time is to burn your highest dmging/threat-building moves first, then use taunt for a free 30% boost?
  18. Jugg tank here, I seem to have a recurring issue with stormcaller regarding threat. We've been taunting firebrand's incinerate armor rather than do a tank swap, problem is right after double destruction is cast, i switch targets, taunt firebrand and go back to stormcaller - but at this point, i seem to lose threat on stormcaller like 1/5 times, he swings over to the dps and essentially one-shots them (due to DD). I'm already guarding the highest dps over there, and I've never had any issues holding aggro before. Has anyone else had a similar issue with this? If it helps - I'm in full BH (61 mods) and running 18/23, I hold aggro on stormcaller perfectly fine the rest of the time, there just seems to be something during those few seconds...I wanna try to fix it

  23. holy damn, 783 shield rating?! But how come you're in hybrid spec? I also noticed you're using 2xWH relics (one shield and one defense), are they both better than the campaign shield proc?
  24. I thought that was a bit low myself, but if it's for crit RATING that seems a bit off as well. If my stats are currently: Defense 370.0 (24.99%) Shield 370.0 (42.66%) Absorb 213.0 (39.00%) then I'm only at 13.99% from rating? I also still have 10 gear slots unaugmented, if I stack nothing but redoubt it will bring me to: Defense 550.0 (28.77%) Shield 370.0 (42.66%) Absorb 213.0 (39.00%) But then again if this is the case, I'm only at 17.77% RATING with 550. I would need quite a bit more just to hit 20%, which doesn't seem right at all. What am I missing?
  25. As videos on how to play a good Juggernaut, it's great. As videos on the acclaimed awesomeness of Rage? Meh, I'm sorry but I'm completely underwhelmed, the majority of the videos is him smashing 13-16k sages (read: under-geared and light armor), sure he smacks a few sents and guardians, but they too are at 13-15k hp. It's only in the 4th video he actually fights like 2-3 people with 18k hp or other people in the area effect of smash, as in not targetted, then you see the ugly side of smash when he only hits for 3k. Still having this much burst after the last few nerfs is pretty amazing, even if he is hitting lowbie sages most of the time. But all this recent talk about how amazing rage is...I just don't see it, I was expecting to see rage vs WH geared opponents, but all I'm seeing is pretty numbers vs undergeared opponents.
