  1. Until then, there's always a kolto tank.
  2. I understand constructive criticism. I understand there's always room for improvement. Yes, as a rule in marketing, companies have to be careful about managing expectations, and one-off instances of generosity can sadly backfire thanks to cynicism and consumer entitlement. However, we can and should ask ourselves if that's the kind of attitude we want this game's community to have. I haven't won anything and it doesn't bother me. Some people might feel differently, and we should hear out anyone with honest concerns...but some people just aren't prepared for constructive engagement.
  3. Nah, the only compulsory thing about PvP is not quitting a match halfway through.
  4. Star Wars author? Drew Karpyshyn is awesome. Other than him...James Luceno, Matthew Stover, and/or Chris Avellone. Non-Star Wars? Kafka. Maybe Piers Anthony.
  5. It's called adrenaline. You might be in a weakened state from just being released from carbonite after five years (and still recovering from the poisonous effects), but when a psychotic Sith-child who your rescuer is afraid of is chasing after you in the heart of her own Empire, you're gonna be desperate to GET OUT. They also did show you staggering and Lana helping you keep moving, by the way.
  6. It's pretty simple...mental discipline. Nomi Sunrider, for example, recognized and dispelled illusions conjured up by Sith sorcery because, like most Sith abilities, they draw energy from fear. Sith are trained to resist the mental influence of the Jedi mind trick...Jedi, in turn, are trained to resist the mental influences of Sith (when you read about how Zannah conjures nightmares through Sith sorcery, it's pretty self-explanatory why that would be less effective, if it worked at all, against most Jedi...*most*, because we can all name several examples of troubled Jedi or those who came to their training later than most, or those whose will is simply overpowered). Death field relies on a similar principle---imposing the Sith's will and grabbing the essence of another's life force to feed one's own. A Jedi strong enough with the Force (or quite possibly a group of Jedi working in tandem) can resist this the same way any light-side nexus would resist the dark side's influence. As for physical manifestations, this is trickier than hours of meditation and training, but all Force-users can shield themselves with the Force (think a low-grade version of Force barrier). Some masters can deflect lightning while unarmed, with intense concentration to repel dark-side energy. The tendrils Zannah spawned are a circumstantial case. Those took extreme concentration on a world which was for all intents and purposes a bottomless well filled with the dark side. That said, they're also different from a typical spell: The focus is on manifesting the tendrils themselves rather than on trying to overpower/influence an opponent's mind, so they're harder to defend against. EDIT: Incidentally, I'm surprised and a little confused by Sith Sorcerers in this game using something called "Dark Heal" in lieu of Force drain. It's not that there's a lack of precedent for "Dark Heal"---there's plenty, from Kreia, to Plagueis, to Sidious, but Force drain or "Drain life" would be more of a contrast between Jedi and Sith healers in-game. Maybe they're worried about making Sorc healers overpowered.
  7. Yeah, what happened with Dorne felt odd. I mean, it's clear Havoc was effectively denounced and discharged from official service to the Republic when they went off to stage a guerrilla campaign against the Eternal Empire. The top brass wouldn't have wanted Dorne around any more than they wanted Aric Jorgan or Theron Shan. Heck, if you side with the Empire, Jace Malcolm says "Once an Imp, always an Imp." I just looked at Dorne and wanted to yell "Are you not hearing this?!"
  8. Guss Tuno is the worst, followed by Broonmark. The best is Vette or Ashara on Imp side and Nadia or Zenith on pub side.
  9. Eh, a broken neck is a broken neck, regardless of what broke it.
  10. Why would a sniper want to be stealthy? Oh, right, as lot of reasons. I fully endorse this!
  11. There are two types of people: 1. People who know they don't want Shae Vizla as a companion. 2. People who think they want her, but deep down, really don't. I want her head mounted on a wall in my Dromund Kaas apartment.
  12. Kudos! Good to know this is being taken seriously.
  13. Sorry, but I've seen no evidence of that. Based on the dialogue and the "Sith Entity" Codex entry, it seems pretty clear it's Kreia. Unless...could it be the Sith from the holocron in Rebels?! That would be...interesting.
  14. Yep. He doesn't even question you when you say "The man killed billions." He doesn't say "I don't believe that," or "How do you know?" His only retort is "He was always good to Zakuul." Oh, really, he was? My bad...I guess I should overlook the whole genocide thing. Of course, Valkorion was smart enough to plan things well.He had machines do most of the dirty work while keeping the masses passive with "bread and circuses." If they ever did decide to rise up (aside from the exiles in the swamp who were forced to adapt), it would be an uphill battle since their experience with fighting would be limited to watching gladiatorial matches in the Old World, and they'd face an army of fanatically-loyal Force-sensitive knights.
  15. Hm, well that sort of answers my question! From what I've gathered, the cost of prosecuting people running any specific gold-selling site just isn't worth the payoff, financially speaking. They can ban the accounts of players who violate their Terms of Service, but prosecution of those running the sites is trickier. Strengthening chat restrictions for F2P players might help. Still, I suppose it's just something we're stuck with, unless and until it becomes so constant that it's impossible to put out a call for a group or post a guild recruitment message without either of those being pushed too far up.
  16. There are gold spammers in SWTOR now? They must have a tough time competing with credit spammers, considering gold isn't a currency in this game. In any case, why don't they just go after the sites themselves? That seems like a much more efficient strategy than relying on the player base to report individual characters. Oh, by the way, wrong subform...
  17. Nah, it'll be fixed in a future patch, once they realize it's not just a "text issue."
  18. Having a Dark v. Light event and continuing to reward players who achieve Light V or Dark V suggests otherwise, but yeah, there is still a degree of truth to this.
  19. Yeah! Agreed. I especially enjoyed
  20. The armor with the currently highest stats, of course.
  21. Perhaps they're worried the fix will undo players' progress on other flashpoints!
