  1. Most in my guild have decided the main issue is with one of the explosion sounds most often when we group with a commando but probably used elsewhere too. Maybe the other sound issues were just simple fixes so got addressed first, but the sound drop out is a huge issue and seems to affect everyone that I have come accross. Just wish it was a higher priority since many of us are tired of having to restart the game to fix it. The other issues like the jet engine noise was only really noticeable if the main sound bug (can't hear cut scenes, self buff makes no sound, warzone warning sounds stop functioning, most of the voiceovers for warzones go silent) was acting up at the time.
  2. Mostly agree except with resource management. It is a bit of a problem we have to use HP for Force at the rate we do. Unless we are playing against just horrible opponents we pretty much have to rely on our most inefficient heal as everything else gets interrupted constantly. And while I'm thinking about it does any other class besides our mirror have a double penalty with their regen ability (we lose HP and a stacking force regen penalty). I'll assume it's because we don't have a cooldown but think it can be overly harsh in the context of PvP when we are in a state of balance on some classes where we die before running out of force if properly handled.
  3. This X 10. When you first join a guild you are usually in a recruit phase anyways. It's more a trial to see if they like you and you like them. Don't take advantage of people by getting loot and leaving or whatever, but at the same time don't feel tied to a bunch of people if playing the game is not enjoyable with them. Beware the spam invite guilds that take anyone (they tend to boast things like 300 members in their join us messages usually people with lots of alts and inactive players) they are alright for leveling but tend to develop rival cliques in them and rarely last without several splinter guilds splitting off. If you play well you'll probably find yourself frustrated by guilds that take anyone that asks just to beef up numbers.
  4. I think I would like to see respledence tweaked (wouldn't mind reverted to 1.0 but not holding my breath). Perhaps while Resplendence was up force regenerates X times faser than normal, basicly of the opposite of the debuff you'd get it you used noble sacrifice without Resp up. Something like that may make force management a bit less hectic than it is now. I also would like to see perhaps a different calculation of alacrity on deliverance and maaaaybe salvation to speed them up somewhat. Mainly for PvP reasons to make them more usable again when not playing people that are brain dead. Barring that some kind of buff like some classes have that can stack to make an ability uninterruptable. I don't expect benevolance would be ever changed to be efficient, but on the pvp front that's pretty much all you get off reliably once the enemies see you. The amount it heals for and the low force costs means you are lucky to maintain someones health at the level you start healing, never mind gaining any ground.
  5. It does lessen the community of servers. Currently you know who to ignore when they spam for groups because they are terrible players, rude, ninjas, have purple hair or whatever doesn't tickle your fancy. You learn quick how good/bad things are going to be when you can see your group forming from people you know/seen/heard of. Cross server tools just makes everyone you group with a random spot filler you are likely to never see again, which encourages ******tery. "Fine don't use the tool" problem is the ******tery carries over and becomes the norm for everything but guild groups. Imagine a common occurance where yahoo on your server needs loot from Boss 1 of Lost Island. Currently if you kill that boss and yahoo leaves the group, you at least can avoid yahoo till you feel he's not a selfish jackwagon any more. With a random tool you get a lovely cycle of people joining seeing you've already killed one boss and bailing since all they needed was on that one boss. Combined with the fun of knowing next time you form you may get yahoo again and unless you have multiple people already in your corner you might not have the votes to remove him. Even better queuing and getting yahoo as group leader to give you crap when you point out what a waste of 1's and 0's he is. Oh the best when there's a shortage of say tanks (insert whatever new role is short that month) so every tank that joins knows he's rare and you have a long wait if you manage to get him booted so he gets to play little Hitler no matter how stupid he is. Don't forget when there's a role shortage people run and respec to get super fast queues and have no gear or no idea how to play that role but lucky you get to try and prop him up, and all the little clones just like him until the next FOTM swap. One of the big downfalls for a lot of us old WoW players was how Xrealm LFG turned out, outside of your guild you might as well get rid of the whole concept of servers since it's just a bunch of randoms running around. Warzones/BG's no big deal Xrealm trying to kill each other anyways and generally ******tery is a bit expected in pvp. LFD/LFFP loot is involved and people become selfish little bastards who all know their own best way and could give a darn about any other player since odds ore they won't see them again. You want to get a feel of how xrealm random forms turn out, hop on youtube and look up videos of ranting and raving people on Xbox Live just like that without voice. If anything I think multi server looking for FP tools ought to have some drawback (besides the obvious) like no trash credits or something so it truly is a last resort instead of the norm.
  6. Force Wave (AE knockback), Mind Snap (regular interrupt), Regular Stun, and Force Lift (mez). If you use Theran then you'd have Holiday to add to the list as well. If you have botrh dots always running on him like you always should on a target you are killing you don't have to worry about the heal from the mez since you MAY get 1 tick of it usually not even that and it instant breaks from the damage.
  7. You have 4 interrupts not 2. You can use any companion you want, only certain clickies have companion requirements. Don't forget to dispell dots.
  8. An addition to LR-5 that makes the movement a bit easier and predictable. The adds spawn in the same order so restrict movement to keep the next add spawn clear of the electric bubbles (we intentionaly don't have our tanks taunt adds so they can be grouped around the 2 ranged adds for easy ae). Adds spawn order as you enter the room is far left, far right, near left by the door. When using melee dps you need to move the boss around so we los pull (so he doesn't get to use incinerate while out of tanks range) behind a pillar, then tank leads the way backing up slowy everytime he drops a bubble. It is a cardinal sin for any of our DPS to shortcut around the tank to another section. If timing is right you end up at the correct adds spawn just in time for them to spawn and can kill them fast. Incinerate is a stacking dot that goes to 3 so it can be removed if tank misses an interrupt. 1 stack not so be, 2 or more your dispeller needs to be super fast as it is nasty. If melee are in the group you really can't afford to miss one incinerate as with just one dispeller the cooldown is too long to save melee dps and the tank at 2 or 3 stacks. In the write up you missed Dr. Lorricks leap stun in phase 2. Stunned person needs to break it and move away from him.
  9. enjoying the new thesaurus?
  10. Anyone that's full healing and BM does the gear upgrade from champ really help that much with survival again? I say again because when I first got my cent/champ set (full champ set now) before many of the Emps on my server made BM, I could have 2/3 beating on me and it was no real problem for a little bit at least. I had time to get off some tricks, make some seperation, be a bit more frustrating for them. I wasn't going to solo them or live forever, but I could remain upright for a little bit even if they weren't stupid. Then it seems like about 3-4 weeks ago every scrum I get involved with in a WZ all of a sudden I'd just blow up when they look at me, on top of suddenly having issues keeping more groupmates up that I hadn't had previously. Almost feels like in the days pre seperating out 50's, when some 50 geared out guy would come in and dust a whole group of teens and you could do little more than shrug. I almost don't blame some tanks for not guarding since the damage incomming just seems to be nuts at times (I said almost). A couple of good healing trance crit ticks in the past would get someone near full and you could swap off to healing someone else for a moment, a good deliverance crit was almost like a reset. Now it's almost like I play pick who's gonna die last since it's gonna take almost all of my gcd's to keep just one person from blowing up never mind myself when they swap. Damage now seems to outpace even my crits, it adds a bit of delay but it's rare to see it do enough to call it recovery if my group doesn't outgear or outman the opponents in that particular battle. Just frustrated watching my heals land on people and them still dieing before the next one goes off all to often lately. Mostly curious since I should hit BM this week and I'm really hoping my life expectancy rises a bit again. Currently at the point where I think the pvp heal nerf is unnecessary (pretty sure it is still in) but want to get the highest set to see if that feeling holds up.
  11. Problem I see as a heal spec is wanting more pop in our instant heals and damage. Lots of stalemates and fights dragging way out if the opponent is geared, takes all of my healing to keep me up which leaves little if any time for damage spells. Force isn't an issue in those cases I have plenty, just no free gcd's to use it. Makes for some interesting fights I suppose, but some you can sit there and hold a conversation while you or he hopes for backup at some point to end it. Me vs most tanks or healers is like an old WoW fight of 2 resto druids or holy pallys. Other issue as heal spec is facing requirements for dps. I wouldn't mind seeing lift or tk throw remove their facing requirements. I don't think it should be removed from all of our damage abilties, just a pain in the neck playing circle strafe behind the back games with some melees while healing and trying to put out a little damage when our instant heals do so little healing to make more movement less deadly. Or perhaps make our instant hot also able to make lift instant or something for a little breathing room.
  12. nothing wrong with a free trial if they are restrained properly from causing issues to paying subscribers with things like mail spam, credit selling yells etc. Gives a lot of people a chance to see the game and decide for themselves instead of just relying on what a bunch of trolls with too much time on their hands spew out on a daily basis. Gives alts more group possibilities for the first 2+ and 4 quests on starter planets, and probably options for first instance group mates.
  13. You know he may have a point, perhaps BW should roll back all the pre 1.1.5 BM's that got to farm lvl 20's like a one man army and take that gear back so that everyones grind is the same. Any volunteers?
  14. I didn't watch it but wasn't there a livestream for this opened to everyone. Don't think there was an NDA heh.
  15. Sounds like you want to run it virtualized, you might get lucky and get it to launch as I think a couple support DX9 kindof but I wouldn't be surprised if it runs like hot garbage or crashes frequently. Your main hurdle is video. Even with multiple video cards your virtualization software controls your video card(s) in this scenario thus acts as an interpreting layer between the virtual machine and the hardware. The game nor the sessions OS would have direct access to the hardware.
  16. Are there that many imps at the other 2 speeder points on these servers? Why not just ride up north and farm the smaller groups that break off to come chase yours.
  17. I think the checks required to be completely exploit proof would probably overwhelm the connections, so it has to be weighed against how easy it is and how common it is in game. Other games attempted to solve this by scanning for known "hack utils" for their specific games on client computers. The more difficult problem involves those who use a secondary system to modify the stream before it is sent back to the server. Some eventually added location validation checks but it always seemed like a last resort and it's never perfect when there are abilties that port people around the game with one method or another, along with different movement speeds etc. To those that don't think it can happen, it has certainly happened in other MMO's. I have seen one person in Ilum that I believe is doing some form of Z location hack in this game. First time I thought it was just a geometry bug in that spot. The second time on a different day in a different part of the central area with the same Imp and he seemed to do it at will. This individual was able to drop to what looked like halfway into the ground. The resut was he could cast (he's a sorc, I'm a sage) on me but standing anywhere even on to of his head you get the cannot see target error. The first day I just came across him in a spot like that I tried casting on him but couldn't so I went on my way assuming he was LD or stuck in a geometry bug. Second time was more suspicious as I knocked him off his moving mount and he stood there until a BH nearby wasn't going to help him. As the BH rode off all of a sudden the sorc does his drop halfway down into the ground thing, kills me while I can no longer cast on him. I hang around as a corpse and he pops back up as soon as another imp comes by. I obviously reported it so it's up to CSRs now as to whether he was or wasn't, but it sure was fishy to me.
  18. More useful in some situations than others, I wouldn't pvp without it as a full on healer, but that's just me. I can see skipping it in some dueling spec, or if I wanted to up my dps as some kind of hybrid. As far as total usefulness the less running around the more I feel I get out of it, but it has it's uses everywhere. Efficiency in PvP is a secondary concern most times so the x people in it and for how long takes a back seat to survival imho. I prefer to focus more on HPS than force efficiency, so if I can add a GTarget Hot on top of whatever else I'm doing it helps. Unless you are like my server this week (for some reason all our top dpsers decided to spec heals) there are always more people taking damage than there are healers. As effcient as it might be theres usually just not enough time to single target heal everyone up unless incoming dps is just sad. Can put it down premtively to keep some heals going when you know you are about to get stunned, interrupt chained, have to kite, blown to bits etc. Nice to have 3 hot's ticking on myself (set bonus) while I'm locked out or stunned. It's useful in maintaining more than one person being burned hard to allow you to get bigger more efficient heals off while swapping back and forth and not losing anyone. When stuck on the floor in huttball but can't get los to get a heal on your carrier above you usually can at least target the edge of the level he is on and hit him with the salvation. Incoming AE was mentioned, when you are playing with people not moving out of it slapping the salvation right at the enemies marker helps alleviate the damage better than single target healing people. Even a net wash, heals=damage take means no deaths, you and the ae'r both lost resources but I can always tap some force back if the fight is long enough that I run low.
  19. This 110% depends on the dps attacking me at the moment. I think there is a big skill/spec/gear gap between good and bad dps atm I see it on both sides. It happens in other games as well, I just think with SWTOR being newer more people aren't aware of optimal specs, rotations, stats etc. Sometimes someone will jump me and I'll be dead or so low it's unrecoverable in almost no time flat. Then someone comes along same spec etc in a WZ and I toss my little hot up and walk away ignoring them because it doesn't hurt. healer vs healer, healer vs tank seems about dead on, long drawn out fights that are usually end up in stalemates with boredom setting in. Healer vs good dps the only change I wouldn't mind seeing is a bit slower dps ramp up, or give me some kind of BOOM instant heal to match against some of the BOOM hard openings I get.
  20. Or spam ae ignoring objectives, As a healer I know if I get sidetracked in one of those small fights that don't mean anything my numbers skyrocket unless it's voidstar. But I'm with you I have yet to see anyone damage wise top 380-390k in a WZ.
  21. Play what suits your style. For all we know everything will be nerfed in a month or two. I have a 50 sage, and a 30something sorc. I see the difference in openers but frankly I like the opening with the sage better it just seems more fluid to me. I can have a cast time spell like disturbance landing just after the project damage hits which in PvP feels like a stronger opening before the target has a chance to really react. Running against geared out sages in huttball (my server repub outnumbers imps) if sorc lightning gets nerfed I expect pebbles will be too. Both hurt pretty bad if specced/geared out for it.
  22. SWTOR 19.6 GB's, WoW after yesterdays optimizing patch (Blizz said it removed lots of old patch files among other things) 29.2 GB
  23. It's Francis that's his youtube schtick.
