  1. Silver-black White-black Gold-black Darkassblue-black Black Darkassblue More variants of the current colors through vibrance and hue. Chromatic colors **** it... All the colors. More particle effects that are a bit more exaggerated. Color crystals that are dual stats, crafted only, no cartel **** so they can stay relevant.
  2. It's something extra to do, hopefully with worthy rewards. If it is terrible, then the forums will explode.
  3. I doubt it, I am thinking we will all have to start again. Oh well, more incentive to earn a retarded amount of creds. Since it is legacy based, switching alts and doing all the quests will likely make this a short distraction, depending on the number of factions.
  4. Another time sink, likely tied in with dailies so that there is a greater reward included. Comms, creds and a reputation bar. Hopefully it's not just titles you can earn, but some unique appearance gear.
  5. The topic is, choosing a name. The question posed was, how many times did you push random before getting a name. In regards to choosing a name, it's rather simple if you have any shred of creativity, imagination or enough clout to steal one. If it's one thing humans are good at, it's putting a name on everything! So if choosing a name is challenging, take a day to read a book, have a conversation or ask for suggestions. To answer the question you posed within the topic of choosing a name, I have never pushed random once. Why? Because I had the max early start time given and was able to name all 12 of my characters and reserve them for later use. So my answer is zero.
  6. If you use a name from any kind of show or series, it's likely going to be taken. Much like real life, there are a lot of John Smith out there. Google it, different people of no relation with the same first and last name. The unique combination of names that are 100% your own identity, is impossible. So while you may have a handle you prefer, chances are you saw it on some other player in some other game somewhere else in the world, or someone saw yours and got here first. My advice, stay out of fantasy books, dnd, TV series, movie and any other kind of media exposed content for creating names. Take the name of your cat and merge it into yours, or change the name of a fruit into a name... Retwa noelm...
  7. This would only be considered bad coding if it happened to all players (as it is in the coding) and if it happens in the office in front of the engineers and support teams. Otherwise these cases would all be treated as isolated incidents. Plus, their servers would have logs that would register the crashes when a certain code line was executed. It would show a mass amount of players crashing, especially if the GTN one is coding.
  8. Here's the thing, if the smash build is something out of the intended norm, it will show up on the metrics that Bioware tracks and will be re-adjusted. If not, these threads will devolve into people threatening to leave because they feel like there shouldn't be a way for a class, especially one that had nothing threatening except running huttballs, to crush them under huge burst damage with end tier pvp gear. Now, what about shadow/sin 4-8 second stun gank? That eats players alive, in record time and if not countered right away, the fight is over. What about bounty hunters spamming tracer missile? Pulling people up behind the goal line to instant kill them in huttball? What about the ops shankfest that tore people up while they were stun locked? Another fight that takes around 10 seconds to end someone. What about driving groups back up to their spawn points in huttball, then throwing the ball at them to instant kill them? What about jumping through the walls on alderaan? What about force charge over the bridges in void star that kick you out of the wz? What about speed hackers? What about real pvp problems?
  9. Just sort the server list by character numbers and the server that pops up first is your new home.
  10. What kind of video games did you guys grow up on? If its the call of duty generation, you're too young to even care about jump. Go get some "retro" games, that's "swag" these days right? Bite the over the top juicy fruit commercial 80's and Koodo ads and play things that "old" people used to play. The jumping isn't hard, your timing sucks, your depth perception and reaction speeds are way off. That's no fault of the games, especially if others can do it no problem. The actual datacron issue spots were on corellia, where you had to use the grappling device but the spot you're supposed to go, just resets you to the spot you start at. So you can't actually get the datacron. Mind you, it's been ages since I was there and spamming the button trying to get across in frustration. But that was due to it being bugged, nothing else. So in short, suck it up princess and get better or you're never going to beat the second boss of EV.
  11. What? What is this? Bind on legacy everything threads all over? No, level your alt and gear it up like all the normal people. Get your inheritance and birthright gear, these requests are just rediculous!
  12. If you get hit for 9k, take a screenshot of the logs and show us, show Bioware. Otherwise it's all over embellishments, for the sake of being a greater victim. If it happens all the time, it won't be hard to provide visual evidence. It's a fair thing to ask of the plaintiff.
  13. Wait... It went from 3-6k instant damage to 9000!! Looks like I need to get out of vengence spec and ignore any other ability I have!! Wait... I smell exaggeration here...
  14. It's just typical trash talk, like that guy who says he will own you, then you take him to school. Those who bark the loudest, don't have the balls to bite.
  15. This is true, to an extent. I find the old republic universe far more interesting than the legacy EU. Simply because to me, the Skywalker era was over. Finding out the history of the universe and why "the oppression of the Sith" was so feared. But this is all personal preference right? As all opinions are.
  16. Hence the reason I said "as we know it". I don't mean it will be purged as we know it, right from existence, just that it won't fit directly into what will exist. Unless they pull the Star Trek move to have it make sense in the universe on both sides of the fence. Original content is original though, so while the solo kids exist in the EU, they may not come to be in the films, making the books an alternate timeline. Which to an extent, removes them from the core canon presented by the films. While it is sad that sometimes this stuff happens, accepting what is canon is up to the end user and what they value most in the universe they love. Ultimately, the films are the core of the Star Wars universe before anything else, regardless of contributions, contradictions or any other anything the EU brings.
  17. I see that this discussion has taken on a new form of attack. It has been noted and spoken about in great depth on these forums, and while the request to have all these crazy, long headed and disproportionate alien species is valid for customization. It's terrible in terms of design. All of those funny misshaped heads would need custom variants of all the helms in game. All the armor types would have to be re-weighted to apply to even the smallest body deviations like the mon-cals arms. The only way to get them in, would be of some species never could have a head slot shown, some couldn't have gloves or bracers shown and some couldn't have boots shown. If people were to accept that, then maybe I could see it happening. But not everyone will, because like anything on this forum, 10 will say yes, 100 will say no and call those 10 biodrone fanboys who are spineless and lack self entitlement. Oh the humanity!
  18. There is a fine line between being constructive in your criticisms and being a complete crybaby ******e. Nobody needs to apologize for giving good, constructive feedback. That feedback doesn't include name calling, making demands, threatening to leave or hints of hostility and downright dickery. The forums paint a picture of self entitlement and disrespect, to the devs and peers alike. From what can be seen, these rude people hide their terrible communication skills behind a few over used facts. "I paid for it, I own it, I can treat it however I want". That same logic is often used by animal abusers when they are confronted. I put that there just for comparison. What's missed is that regardless of how angry you are over a product, you still have to properly communicate it. You can say you're emotional state, but you can't use that as an excuse to attack anything. If you do, you're not doing it right. Peer feedback and reinforcement is the proper means. So when you write your feedback, you introduce the successes and weaknesses. You positively reinforce the successes because they're the strengths, then you leave suggestions on the weaknesses and how to improve. Not bash it to hell and back without any kind of proper feedback. That's just venting and being a disrespectful child. Which if any of you were from the 80's or older, your parents would have slapped you on the *** for even thinking you could talk like that. Being an ******e isn't a personality quirk. It's a behavioral choice. You don't need to be one and you shouldn't be. If you were, you owe an apology to Bioware and the people you treat like ****. But if you're giving good, strong feedback that is presented professionally, keep doing it. You're doing everyone a service.
  19. Take the kindle, then in secret, change its default wifi connection to your neighbors wifi. Yes, that's a good plan and a nice step in the direction of evil. Is there a way for you to set how much bandwidth the kindle caps out at while downloading and uploading?
  20. Or, instead of adding damage, they could increase the threat of every attack and reduce the cd of taunt. Instead of the "narrow cone attack" they could widen it to be a 180 degree attack. Impale shouldn't be more useful than a tanking skill, damage isn't what needs to be raised, threat is. Added damage will just make the dps job a little more slack, which it doesn't need to be, even if it is a small increase.
  21. Anything from this era or older should be included. The armor sets of Naga Sadow, Exar, Ludo, Marks, Adas etc... There is some rich history that this game is based off of and it could use some culture in it. Hell, having the robes Nihilus wore would be nice, instead of trying to match anything to it, to try and look good.
  22. Dye system I can see. A-Tab, not so much because of the existing mod system. It's a bit of a cred sink but it also keeps people playing to upgrade their look. That to me, is the true endgame right now. Building your character up to look how you want him/her to. A-Tab takes away from some of that effort and ripping out mods isn't as expensive as it used to be. Dyes on the other hand, will likely be cartel exclusive for the most part, where a few super-rare unique colors could possibly be in HM/NIM ops. This will increase activity in ops to hunt for that "Jet black" that nobody can find. But you can bet your bottom dollar that if it is a cartel item, one dye will only dye one piece of gear. If the armor has 2 parts to dye, hopefully you don't need to buy dye in bulk... Other customization features that would be nice? Like the mod system, having a number of accessory slots that people can equip things into. Example: Chest piece Shoulder slot - insert spikes (lame but you get it) Core slot - insert terminal (vaders little chest computer) Back slot - insert cloak Done. Different combinations by different players and their tastes will introduce a higher variant of appearances. You will always have the copycats but that's how it goes. All speculation of course.
  23. Traditional Cultural gear for each species would be great. I would be inclined to suggest Naga Sadow as an example. As well as: Ludo Kreesh Marka Ragnos Adas Andeddu Freedon Nadd Darth Bandon The robes of darth nihilus Like most of the crap in cartel market, I would want to see the original models in game first. Then alt colorations and some extremely cool items in CM.
  24. That's exactly how I saw it unfold on the forums. QQ explosion and then that was it, we got the rank Darth and no recognition for becoming the wrath.
  25. You may not feel too tanky for awhile but the key things to keep in mind are the stats you're going to need to stack in order to be a tank. Run the flashpoints you have access to and use those comms you get. Don't forget your crafting! If you have synth, you will start craft Defense gear sooner than later. If you do run fps... Use your taunt, often. Your job is to also control and less your party, so take up the role and designate CC targets and set the pace. At your current level, any class can tank, simply because you're on the learning part of the game. The content is literally tooled towards limited ability usage. Once you hit Athiss, you will start to feel more like a tank, as long as you're putting what little bit of defensive stat gear you find on.
