  1. Same, boss 1 'assault on tython' (Major Imos?) *ALSO* Same problem final boss, Red Reaper. Invulnerability states generally seem to be bugged in FP's.
  2. I just have to say tho (for comedy value).. T-SHIRT!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! "BIOWAREⓇ A DIVISION OF EA" ouch. would you allow yourself to be forced to wear it? I feel that's a question for the sages *bdum dum tsch!*
  3. Not a big shock for those of us who've put a lot of time in, queues have been getting longer and longer even at peak times. I'd like to see a degree of honesty* here, I don't think we're going to get one.. I got the timeline, understood Bioware's process here, they saw PvE space getting numbers and the massive pre-beta requests for space action, and they jumped on it. Sadly, as so many MMO's do, they saw a BIG win in grabbing the hard core PvP/EVE/*Famous* 'X-Wing vs TIE Fighter' market and failed to see that the people asking for this content ain't them. I'm sorry gang but Star Wars fans didn't grow up playing call of duty, they grew up playing vanilla X-Wing a & Tie Fighter. One day, some exec in a suit will get it... and will be burnt upon the altar of supposed heresy and their bones shall be gnawed upon for their delicious juices.... mmmmMmmmm ..... delicious juices... * Numbers like these "80% increase in space PvP battles in the last 3 months!" ..are bad numbers. Same numbers, "80% increase in the space PvP battles in the last 3 months!.. with an increase in gaming time across the board up by 140%" so a marked decrease in real terms.. and "PvE space down 60% in adjusted player time since 2.0, essentially because we've abandoned it and haven't had a reward change in years, unless you count the reward nerf. Sorry about that."
  4. Cake! {The Cake Is A Lie! - Republic} {Let Them Eat Cake! - Empire} Our website *I* *AM* *IN* *SO* *MUCH* *TROUBLE*! Seriously, I wrote the bit below in our "we'd like to meet new people! how should we do that?" thread, and mine 'won'. Let me save you some time ladies and gentlemen; we're old 'n crazy. The minute the Big Boss finds out I wrote this header, I am *so* on the norty list Have a read tho, and see what you think. (we're *adorable* btw. Experienced, funny, gaming introverts with a bitter-sweet sense of humour and a tendency to punch way above our weight in game). (did I mention we're adorable? ) Read on; now would be good as I'm going to have to cut this whole intro out as soon as the Boss has seen it. I Am In So Much Trouble --------- Hi there! Please sit, have some Tea! We are Cake! & we're a little bit different ^^ Growed ups (allegedly), fun loving, famously sociable and drama averse, our guild was forged with the belief that guild councils and officer classes and raid leaders - serve only to make having fun as a group harder. Somehow (sheer luck we presume ), we've managed to find another way. We sit on Teamspeak, and in our forum, and we chat; we raid (tons actually, but we're not a raiding guild), we level alts, we play the game we came to have fun in and we find it's all so much better when we're doing it together. & right now we're looking for new friends to come play. We have never recruited in game, this is our one and only recruitment thread anywhere on the beautiful wide web (it's our special place, it's lovely to have you here!). So you're probably looking for the list of rules, DKP requirements, age restrictions. We don't have them. We have one tongue in cheek mantra which is simply, "Don't be an arse" No raid leaders, we all just follow the people we know are great raiders, and we seem to have an unusual number of those; no officers, some people just do more work than others, and we let 'em; and our guild leader leads not by Council meetings and secret forums but by inspiration. We just like to play together. So, if you're looking to trial a guild of fun loving, sociable, experienced TORites, and enjoy free tea and Cake! Why not check out our website and have a look at our recruitment form. Hope to see you soon! All the girls and boys of Cake! (50+ active members, 10% thingy bonus, yada yada, Red Eclipse, both factions... man, small print; why do we have to do this? ^^)
  5. S.H.O.D.A.N. from the System Shock series. Gaming's modern update to HAL and Bigger Badder sister of GLaDOS, she embodies the true horror of all encompassing power in the hands of the psychotic and megalomaniacal. I think Clarke and Kubrik would have approved ^^
  6. I hit deep space hero today. I don't know if links are allowed for pics but here you go. This was primarily achieved by having 4 alts, so yeah, having lots of alts at 50 helps as it allows you to choose the days you want to do space, rather than having to do it every day for fear of missing one. I'm very happy but I can see why folks who are very interested in space, not altitis, would be disapointed.
  7. The Guardians of Peace [REPUBLIC] & Power [EMPIRE] (TGOP) are recruiting! TGOP is a mature, multi gaming guild that began in TOR looong before launch and we are recruiting heavily to further expand our presence here - We’ve braved the stormy seas since November of last year and we’ve washed up on The Red Eclipse eager to make fresh, flaming tracks in our new home! We are a community of mature (*cough* - Ed.), friendly players based mainly in the EU time zone. Our presence in TOR since beta, has earned us a positive reputation for our guild videos and casual raiding teams, and we are now focussing on having a good time together across all types of game play - from pve to pvp - with our top tier raiders (positions available to anyone incidentally) fighting through EC HM and TFB SM at least every week, as well as the usual gearing runs through EV and KP (all on both the Republic and Imperial sides). We seek mature, drama-averse new friends who are keen to help out and be helped, work towards the guild’s goals* in a chatty and friendly atmosphere, and who can enjoy a good laugh. (*though don’t ask us what they are, probably something to do with Jack, or Goats ^^). We're physically excited at the thought of filling our openings with like minded folk. (o_O - Ed.) The loot hungry, rush-rush types... This isn't the recruitment thread for you In short, we're a large, grizzled and welcoming team on the server and we're keen to meet you! Server: The Red Eclipse (to the bar boys!) Very active guild site packed to the brim with chat, (http://www.tgop.co.uk) Mature players (21+). Primary language: English. EU time zone. Casual play style. Engaging in PvE and PvP. Busy (srsly!) RaidCall server for guild use. No specified play schedule. If this all sounds good; we have no level, class or gear requirements, so drop us a line on our recruitment page (http://tgop.co.uk/recruitment) or grab a TGOP member and ask about joining. Every TGOP member has recruit permissions, but here's a few officer names you can look out for: Republic - CT-XVXI, Darkmoonk, Doç, Gaspodia, Gaspode, Sevesyner, Annwn, Jabbok. Power - Gorgor, Frymoreflesh, Alineara, Flavious, Dichotomy. You can see more about us on our site: http://www.tgop.co.uk
  8. yes ok you guys win, best mmo april fool *ever* +1 actually, i have a big bag of those here just take 'em, take 'em all! /tiphat
  9. Of all the cantina's, in all the towns, in all the Galaxy, chances of you meeting up at random are slim. Suggestion: Resub old game, drop them an email IG with TOR contact details... or whatever the standard method of communication is there; tattoo the side of a Bantha, I don't know ^^ If they're as keen as you and missing their old playing partner, they're likely to look for you in the same way at some point. Otherwise, there's a million new friends here just waiting to meet you! /tiphat
  10. I don't know what all this wow chat is about and the Act 1 story was god awful (IMHO ), but as a healing class; epic; love it, wouldn't change it for all the heavy armour and big guns in the Galaxy ^^
  11. Most notable QFE from the wise words above; alacrity DOESN'T reduce your GC. It's not on my list of wants when I'm upgrading my mods but if you've buckets of pvp valor comm thingies and you want to buy the gear, the wp/end/power/crit/alacrity items aren't a total waste for healers. Best I can say for it really ^^ [EDIT] oh and I found the DH link for all the stats and what they do. Should have thought of that sooner, sorry.
  12. I took my last saber attack off my hotkey bar when I got force quake and in truth, I don't think I'd used it for days before that. Having them on your bar in pvp is actually a hindrance imho. If you're using your ls, your not using the ability you should be using  The only reason I bother upgrading the useless bat is for the stat upgrades I don't disagree with you but the class works well without such a 'fix', so why change the tyres from Pirelli's to Conti's? Seems like a lot of work for no real benefit.
  13. Well I guess it's down to personal preference and whether pve or pvp is your thing. Personally I was levelling a pure healer to help my guild in pve and enjoyed pvp, so I got up to specializing Healing trance (resplendence), but did indeed take Inner strength and mental logevity early, and then went for double bubble (Telekinetic defence); then finished off the seer tree. Has worked marvelously so far. I wouldn't argue against getting Clairvoyance or Salvation before double bubble, I just found the bubble was my go to hotkey in pretty much all situations so took buffing that as a personal given. 2c ^^
  14. I've certainly seen one particular application become lifts 'classic' use. Alderaan warzone, middle turret. The 2 high semi circular walkways. IA's run up here all the time, set up their shield and double up on your teamies with their melee counterparts in the scrum below. Saunter over all casual like, popping bubbles on your teamies as you go. When you're in range, stun the IA, wait for them to use their break; then lift. With nobody else around them, it won't get broken, you'll get the full 8. Drives them mental
  15. Says it all really, the change from ranged to melee tank happened too late to polish him up and I don't think I've heard one peep from the devs about it. So would love to; but can't expect a tidy any time soon. Booooooo.
  16. Ah Taris, Rakghouls are the Christmas Turkey of the SWTOR Universe, at first it's all, oo! Rakghoul! I haven't had that since KOTOR! Then it's Rakghoul sammiches.. Rakghoul curry.. spicy rice and Rakghoul chorizo... Let's start with this. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS OVERLEVELLING. Finish *every* *single* gaming session in your ship, for the rested xp bonus. *Start* every session with your space missions. and then pick up your PvP daily quest (mission terminal is on the fleet right in front of all the PvP token vendors, it basically doubles the xp you got for winning your match). Um, win 1 match - this is getting harder now that people are l2p but a couple of fails is just another 25k xp so it's not exactly time wasted). Assuming space and 1 win pvp game, you just made 60,000 xp !MINIMUM! (I've had days where I've hit more than a hundred k); and it should have taken you an hour, tops. Now you can go planet farming and for heavens sake DO THE SIDEQUESTS. Sure, if you get to Alderaan and your level 39, you get 5 xp for trash mobs, not 105. Big deal, no great loss, it means (except where localized bonus missions are available), you can just skip around mobs left and right to finish your quests all the faster and minimize the grind, maximize the story. Watch in general chat for groups meeting up to do the +2 and +4 heroics and if you're approaching the end of the quests for Taris/Nar Shadaa/Tat keep a very keen eye out for people looking to do the bonus quests. The bonus quests on these planets are worth as much as everything else combined and give the really sick rewards you'll need to keep alive on the next planet. If you do find yourself behind in levels because you didn't realise the above, then just put a day aside for PvP and catch up. Like I say, it's great to win but you get plenty of xp for a lose so going 0 and 5 is still building that ding. Please though, for the love of all that is good, read (and reread) your class pvp guides and watch (and rewatch) a youtube primer for each of the 3 missions. It's only 3 missions and you've only 1 class to learn, don't make others suffer for your lack of preparedness ^^ /tiphat
  17. Levelling sage isn't hard (if you're finding it so btw, get a couple more levels under your belt with some space and pvp and *always* keep your and particularly your companions gear up to date); what it is, is sloooooow You'll notice all the people who dinged 50 in week 1 were DPS running with DPS groups and DPS companions. Worry not though, when you get to 50 there'll be planets filled with DPSers *begging* you to do runs with them ^^ /tiphat
  18. Coincidentally I just started looking into this yesterday and the OP is quite right, it's easy for dps/tank and dps/healers to get a bucket of medals but healer/CC (sage), not so much. It would seem logical then that there should be medals for the CC role but hellivIknow what form they'd take or how much fun it would be to get them.
  19. I enjoyed your post, found it entertaining, thanks ^^ disagree with everything but it's all opinions isn't it? What got me the most was the quoted line above. Sure the prof and planet arcs are nice but the other 90% of quests are still "kill 10 rats". Having a professional voice actor and a fully rendered CG sequence tell me why I'm killing 10 rats, doesn't make it any more interesting. Skip the side quests and fill your xp boots with pvp and space I say. Long live the main arcs! Story telling worthy of the Bioware moniker
  20. The problem, especially at early levels, stems from the fact that the healing sage is designed to be heal+CC. At level 20 I remember being in groups with commando's that could heal just as well as I could but got heavy armour and some serious dps, making me feel a bit gimped. CC requires some intricate group play, communication being the key, yet most early content is designed to be easily survivable by 4 level-suitable players, so there's rarely a need for much strategy and hence, our CC is fairly useless. As time goes on and thing get harder, it becomes much more useful and for the hardcore PvP and Ops crowd, a full heal spec sage will be considered a requirement for any group. However, it's anything but easy. I need a completely different toolbar set up for solo, for heroics, ops (even varies between certain ops) and again for pvp, the interactions of your various skills (how to get practically infinite force for example) are *very* complex, you really need to know your stuff, and you really need to know your stuff for what amounts to 4 completely different systems. In short, if you know your profession inside out and upside down at 50, you'll be loved for it (and very rare), if you're not planning on being your guilds uber healer extraordinaire; tweak for more dps, you'll enjoy the game more. /tiphat
  21. Don't freak out about the whole Fess thing. Mine's still mostly using stuff I got on the 3rd World (no spoilers ^^), which I finished at level 23 iirc. I'm now 28, just finishing up the 4th World and we can still 'solo' anything that isn't a group mission (called heroics, they come in 2 players recommended and 4 players recommended varieties) and can even do the 2+'s if It's late and I can't find anyone else. Takes ages but it'd totally doable if you must. Anyone who tells you his upgrade tree is broken is right, it needs fixing, it's unbalanced. Anyone who tells you he's useless is not right, you'll do just fine with him, he's still a good tank. /tiphat
  22. Whatever you do, for heaven's sake DO NOT DIAL THIS NUMBER FROM A MOBILE if you're calling from the UK! 00800 numbers are an international 'freephone' number but most mobile (and indeed some landline service providers) do not abide by the 'free' agreement. Calls to 00800 numbers can cost as much as 50p a minute, meaning the hour you spend on hold during this busy time will set you back £30.
