  1. Another vote here for restarting the Bounty week as soon as the issue is fixed (or the next free slot). I don't care about the double XP, I've been waiting two months for the bounty event to come back around! Don't want to have to wait another two months
  2. It's certainly solo-able as far as the fight mechanics are concerned, there's nothing that you can't get past without multiple players. I've no idea if you personally can solo it yet - best advice is just to give it a try, I reckon Depending how busy your server is, I'd also think there are plenty of folks who'd be happy to have an over-levelled group member helping them out, as long as you can survive all the aggro you'll probably pull from the tank!
  3. You might also consider dropping Slicing on your lvl 50, and levelling Underworld Trading on that toon instead. This means you'll have all your companions available to run the missions needed to level it, which will make the process a lot quicker. Bear in mind that UT has missions for companion gifts and fabrics as well as metals, and you don't really want to waste money on those. You can log out and back in to reset the list of missions until you've got all or most of your companions gathering metals. Either way, UT's going to cost a fair bit to level, but you can finance that by running a few dailies on your lvl 50. If you have the expansion, be sure to take him/her through the first few quests to the main Makeb hub so you can get some high-level barrels and armouring with your planetary comms, it'll make the Black Hole dailies a breeze.
  4. Never heard of that happening, and it definitely needs a ticket! I do remember server rollbacks in the good/bad old days of SWG, where everyone would lose the last couple of hours of play, but since there isn't a 10000 page thread on the Customer Service forums, I assume this is something else
  5. Sounds like you're removing the mods that you already have, and not replacing them with the new mods? If you don't want to re-use your old mods in another item, just open the modification window and your inventory window, and drag the new mod into the appropriate slot (or I think right-clicking the new mod will also work?).
  6. My favourite Mako quote is from a companion story dialogue with Gault.
  7. @Shiziticus, I can't really help you on PC components - I'm in the UK, so I'm not familiar with US hardware vendors. What I can say is that SWTOR is not a very demanding game when it comes to graphics - I have a Radeon 5850 graphics card, an Intel i5 processor, and the game runs smoothly for me with everything except shadows set to High. In short, it's not the sort of game that requires a dedicated PC to run well
  8. One other thing I'd say. Given that you're already lvl 33, the amount of time needed to go back and level a new gathering profession to the point where you can gather materials during your current quests may simply not be worth it. As someone else mentioned, you don't *need" these professions, they're just a nice-to-have that makes your life easier. I suspect that the amount of time you'd spend levelling those professions would be significantly more than the time they'll save you getting to level 50. Maybe just do the questing/flashpoint thing for now, and when you start your next alt and decide what crew skills they'll have, you can pick up a supporting mission-based skill on your Marauder, and level it easily with your 5 companions and all the spare cash you will hopefully have at level 50
  9. That definitely sounds odd. I don't know if that's the kind of thing that can get bugged, but if you haven't levelled your Archaeology via missions yet, maybe try dropping the skill and relearning it, assuming you want to keep that skill. Not sure if you mean Biochem or Bioanalysis there If you take Biochem, then you absolutely must take Bioanalysis to support it (replacing your Archaeology), or you won't have the materials needed to craft the items. You could buy them on the AH instead, but that would be horribly expensive. As a general rule, each crafting skill has one primary gathering skill that supports it, and one mission-based skill that provides the additional materials needed to craft blue and purple quality items. Example combinations are: Biochem + Bioanalysis + Diplomacy Armormech + Scavenging + Underworld Trading Armstech + Scavenging + Investigation (wouldn't recommend this, it's much less useful and profitable) Synthweaving + Archaeology + Underworld Trading A decent guide for the basics is http://www.darthhater.com/articles/feature/19800-guide-choosing-crew-skills Personally, my preference for a first character on a server is Biochem + Bioanalysis + Slicing. Bioanalysis gets you the materials you need to level Biochem, and you can use the meds and stims from Biochem to help you level, while Slicing brings in some cash. Alternatively, you can buy re-usable purple quality meds and stims on the GTN as you level up - these don't get bound when you use them, so once you upgrade to the next level of these items, you can sell the old ones on the GTN to get your money back. These require you to have a certain level of Biochem skill to use, so you can reverse engineer the Biotech items you create to get back some more materials to help get your Biochem skill level up quickly.
  10. Archaeology is a gathering skill, so you should be able to find nodes for that - they look like crystalline outcrops, and should show up as available nodes on your minimap. Underworld Trading is a missions-only skill, so the only way you can level it is to pay for your crew to run missions. For this reason it may not be ideal for your first character because it's quite slow to level the skill, but looking ahead it's a very valuable "support" skill for the Cybertech, Armormech and Synthweaving professions. If you stick to the "Underworld Metals" missions, you should be able to sell them at a profit, but it'll be pretty slow going to level up - the fabrics don't sell so well because only a subset of Synthweaving uses them, and companion gifts are a very mixed bag. Mission failures are random, they happen from time to time - it's not related to how often you run the same mission. As you level up, more missions become available. You still gain skill points even if the mission is a failure, but you don't get anything to sell. Re: "How do I learn this stuff?", I honestly just learned by reading the tutorial items on the Codex, and then a bit of trial and error. I've got a ton of fairly useless Luxury Fabrics because I didn't realise those weren't as useful as the metals when I was levelling Underworld Trading, and maybe I wasted some credits finding that out, but it's really not that big a deal
  11. Hit "P" to bring up your Abilities window, then go to the section for your class (Smuggler or Agent). You should find it in the list, then you can drag it back onto your action bar. It's also bound to the "F" key by default, I think - go to Preferences, then the Keybindings tab at the bottom, and look under the list of keybindinds for "Targeting", right at the top.
  12. I think the only way you'll really find a regular group to play with is by joining a guild. I know you mentioned that you're in a guild already and they haven't been as helpful as you'd like, so maybe it's time to look around and see if another guild might be a better fit for you? You could try posting on your server forums (http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=383), and also check for any recruitment posts that emphasise a helpful and welcoming environment for new players. If any guilds look promising, have a chat with the recruiters and let them know what sort of guild you're looking for. You do need to be careful not to come across as being too "needy" when having these conversations, and that also applies if you do find a new guild. I understand that you're new to all this MMO stuff, but remember that the other players are here to have fun too, and they have their own things they want to do during their playtime. Many people will be happy to help with advice and the odd group, but you need to be a bit self-sufficient too - it's very easy to cross the line and get a bit stalker-ish
  13. Reporting back after being a trifle undiplomatic with a source of information during a class quest: "I might have negotiated with his face a little" *Edited to remove minor spoiler*
  14. Once you unlock your Legacy, you can add all your characters to it, and then you can send mail to those characters even if they're on the opposing faction. I think you unlock your Legacy as soon as one of your characters has finished their Chapter 1 story quests.
  15. I did get a message from Mandalore, and I felt it really added to the sense of anger and desire for revenge after that part of the story. Pretty sure I hit 50 on my BH almost a year ago, but maybe it was something they added in after you'd been through that part of the story. Personally, I got more involved in the BH story than any other class, and I certainly felt like I had plenty of motivation to kill either the Chancellor or Darth Tormen. I took the LS option last time round, but I'm currently levelling another BH (the only other class I might re-play would be Sith Warrior) and I'm kinda disappointed I can't kill both of 'em this time round
  16. Tatooine bonus quests follow straight on from the normal quests, so I guess they're 26-ish? I guess they'd already be grey for you, in which case they won't be much help as far as XP is concerned, but you may as well check 'em out anyway.
  17. In General Chat, DPS most often refers to a player's role in a group, meaning they're damage-dealers rather than healers or tanks. For instance a 4-player Flashpoint group generally consists of one Tank, one Healer, and two DPS. "LF2M for Cademimu, Healer and DPS needed" means that one Tank and one DPS player are trying to fill a group for the Cademimu flashpoint, so they are looking for two more players - one healer and one DPS.
  18. Like Aren said, don't worry too much about stat priorities while levelling. Pretty much all guides will be based on L50 characters with a full set of skills, and probably also focussing on boss fights in Operations where you need more accuracy than you do while levelling. As a simple rule of thumb, for yourself as a melee DPS any enhancement with Power, Crit, Surge or Accuracy is going to be helpful, and Endurance never hurts. For tank companions, you want Shield, Absorb, Defense, and Endurance. Healer companions would benefit from Power, Crit, Surge and Alacrity. Ranged DPS companions - Power, Crit, Surge, not sure about Accuracy or Alacrity, probably depends on the companion and their skills?
  19. I've no idea if you can sell an entire pack, but even if you could, people wouldn't buy it for anywhere near the GTN asking price for rare items like the one you mention. The reason those items are expensive is because most packs don't contain one, so it would be bonkers to pay someone that sort of money for a small chance of getting a rare item, when you can just buy the item on the GTN!
  20. Yep, that's correct. Once you've unlocked one of the companion types (Healer, Ranged Tank, Melee Tank, etc) the bonus applies across all your characters in the same legacy on that server.
  21. Yep, you should get the same rewards no matter what level you run them at - enjoy!
  22. It's a lvl 11 Armormech-crafted orange item, so I'd have thought the GTN would have them as often as not. If not, many Armormechs would be able to craft one for you
  23. FYI, the purple "Wynz-Tek" grenades, which are the only BoP (Bind on Pickup) grenades, also require a Cybertech skill of 400 to use. So, anyone who can actually use these grenades can also make them. All crafting professions have some BoP Lvl 50 items which only they can use, although some are more useful than others. The standard V1 grenades are pretty cheap to make, and the crowd control element is the same at all levels, so you could always make up a big load of those instead? Personally, that's all I use the grenades for, the damage is pretty insignificant for something on a 3-minute cooldown.
  24. I levelled my Mara with Vette all the way, and loved it. Sure, you have to heal up after most fights, but you finish those fights quicker, and I enjoyed the "kill them before they kill you" feel to the fights, it made them a little less tedious. Also, it means you don't have to put up with Quinn! I found running with a healer was very slow, but that may have been because I was Rage specced. I just finished levelling my Sentinel (Jedi Marauder, in other words) in Combat (Carnage) spec, and I used Doc (JK's Quinn) almost all the time. Both will work fine, and if you can keep one healer and one DPS companion geared, so much the better IMO, tanks are the worst companions for melee DPS. It's annoying when they taunt off you because you have to run after the mob, and if you turn taunts off then they're just a sucky version of a DPS companion.
  25. If I'd ended the fight with 100hp, I'd probably have been sweating a little Just did this one myself at lvl 48, and while I've no idea if it was nerfed at some point, I think they had to tune it fairly low once they decided to force you to use T7. Much as I love the little fella, I stopped using him the moment I got Kira because I just don't think tank companions play well with melee DPS, so my first couple of tries were with T7 in lvl 11-14 gear Once I'd dropped about 250k on droid upgrades, it was pretty easy. That said, I thought the Baras fight was way easier - the "trick" to that fight is so basic it's not even a trick, just normal gameplay, whereas the Emperor fight at least requires that you identify the trick, then play semi-competently to overcome it. I've finished 6/8 class stories now, and I really don't think any of the final bosses have been very challenging. I'd put the Emperor in the top three, but this is the only one I've done earlier than lvl 50, so I guess that made things harder.
