  1. You're right about the normal mode, but they have tuned the HM. I ran the HM on my alt the other day and the tough boss that was giving everyone trouble was a cake walk. Much easier than the last time I did it back in early January. @OP: Most people don't want to spend too much time grouping in an MMO anymore unless it's for high-end stuff. HM FPs were all the rage 2 months ago, but now most people have the drops from them and don't want to redo them just for kicks. They're way too long and not that fun. Take the gear drops out, and you got nothing left. Perhaps a matchmaking system will work, but even a matchmaking system relies on people wanting to group. Heroic 4's are all but worthless as it's much quicker to move on to the next planet than it is to wait around and try to do these. You don't even lose out on needed xp because there are so many sources of xp that you'll never be lagging behind. They're useful if you have a regular group that always plays together, but if you're just soloing and looking to get a PUG going, it's not gonna happen.
  2. It's not that at all. There is no shame in admitting you're beaten and moving on to the next match. It's like in Starcraft when you GG and quit the game when your army is killed, you don't make the other guy run all over the map killing every single one of your buildings just because you think they should "stick it out till the buzzer." Or if you prefer sports analogies, it's like when a team is getting blown out so the coach pulls the starters and puts in the 2nd stringers for the rest of the game. Or when a boxer throws in the towl after only 8 rounds of a 12 round match. There's no shame in admitting defeat when you're clearly out-matched. That said, if they're really reworking warzones, as has been suggested by other posters, this whole discussion is moot.
  3. Pretty much, anything of any importance is on the promenade. Bank, trainers, comm vendors, crew skill trainers, etc. they're all on the promenade. Every planet has a primary city area, usually it's the first place you land when you get off your ship. Everything is in that area, go there and open up area map and see where it's at. It also helps to remember things that you see for the first time.
  4. I'd prefer they just up the discovery chance to something like 80% for blues and 60% for purples and remove the possibility of duplicate discoveries. I like the idea of xp based discovery over what they have now, but at the same time, xp based discovery turns it into a grind. I do like the chance to discover a new schematic even after just one RE attempt.
  5. Any crafted orange item can have an augment slot. The augment slot is the "crit success" version of the item, so you'll likely have to make more than one item to get the augment slot on it, but it won't be limited to a select few items. Also, more orange item recipes are coming in 1.2 with new looks in addition to what can already be crafted.
  6. This. Too many people think that carrying the ball is the only point of huttball. They couldn't be more wrong.
  7. Moar baddies playing republic? I will concede that premades of GOOD PvPers are able to reduce the number of baddies on their team and, thus, tend to win more often when matched against teams of baddies. But you mistakenly attribute the win to the fact that they premade and not the fact that they're just good players.
  8. I've seen plenty of good PvPers pug it out and win against premades. I've seen plenty of baddies form a premade and get rolled. Being in a premade doesn't make you good and it isn't an "I win" button. Good PvPers win and baddies lose, period, working as intended. Maybe you're just not as good as you think you are.
  9. So PvP is ruined when you lose? You realise someone has to lose, don't you? You can't win every match.
  10. Every other type of damage is affected by mitigation and defense stats so even if everyone had 10% reduction to internal/elemental, you're still coming out ahead by using those types. You also have to level cons/inq so not everyone is going to have this as soon as 1.2 hits. But really, this is already in the game and it's not like people don't recast their buffs during the warzone. Most good PvPers on my server do that already. Buffs are not legacy abilities. That would be like using force choke with your Agent. When talking about buffs, they specifically used the example of being in a warzone and asking your team to rebuff you and how you could now just "do it your dang self."
  11. voices are class specific, not species specific. There will be no change to existing voices. So taking the example of the pureblood JK, it will have the exact same voice that the JK has right now.
  12. If it's not tradable and not sellable, why make me jump through the extra hoop of having a crafter assemble the mats that I already have and can't trade? To make a crafter feel good about himself? No thanks.
  13. not missing anything, those are 10-16 zones, once you're past that, you're done with that planet unless you have a class quest that specifically sends you there. Even then, it's only for a single conversation and then you leave again.
  14. There is no destroying a "great economy market," there is only bursting your own bubble of economic exploitation. Here's the thing about mats, just because they're selling on the GTN at one price, does not mean that that is the going rate to acquire said mat. In truth, the GTN price of a mat, even a rare mat, is an already inflated price and is not the cost that a crafter would pay to continually produce an item that uses said mat. Here's the thing, all of those mats can be acquired through crew skill missions at a fraction of what they sell for on the GTN. Even Mandalorian Iron I can get through UT for much cheaper than what they sell for on the GTN. If I'm going to craft anything that uses Mando Iron and hope to make a profit off reselling it, there's no way I'm going to go with the GTN price of Mando Iron. I love undercutting people on the GTN. The fact is, your prices are probably too high to begin with and while you may get some suckers to buy from you, most people probably avoid the GTN altogether. If you're really so intent on price-fixing, then maybe you should start buying up all the low priced product and reposting it at the higher price. However, you risk ending up with a lot of unsellable product when it doesn't sell and people continue to undercut you.
  15. This. Just have to make sure everyone stays outside after a wipe until the raid leader can reset the instance.

    Slayer map?

Slayer maps are a lot of fun... in Halo maybe. With the current workings of the game, no, splitting up would never be a good idea. You'd just be feeding the other team kills at that point. A tank away from the group is like a fish out of water. Trust me, I play a tank in PvP. I'm completely dependent on staying with the group. Tanks do not last under focus fire and they do crap dps. They're good for guard and that's about it. There would be no reason to bring a tank to a slayer map over another DPS. Healers might have marginally more usefulness, but even then, they don't contribute to the kill totals so it's still almost better to always bring a dps. I think some of you think this would be fun but you don't actually understand what would happen. I think some people just want the winner to be determined by kill counts because you look at the scoreboard at the end of the match and see your kill totals and think that should mean something. The biggest problem with slayer maps in this game is that kill credit is given to every player who does damage. So if a group of 4 kills 1 person, they all get credit, thus the team would get 4 total kills even though only 1 person died. They would have to completely change how kills are counted for this to even be remotely fair. They'd have to change it so that only the person who delivers the killing blow gets credit.

    Slayer map?

Agree with this. Slayer maps would be tilted in favor of DPS and AOE classes. Tanks and Healers would have no place in the match. At least with objectives, tanks and healers can defend specific points. The other problem I have with slayer matches, is that the prevelant strat would be to group up and stay in one place the entire match. Splitting up would be a sure way to die as you would quickly get picked off by the enemy deathball. At least objectives drive the action to specific areas.
  18. The sand demon is supposed to be one of those story line bosses that is really difficult. The fact that you had to use a 20 min CD ability means that it's just right. If not on this type of boss, when else would you expect to need that 20 min CD ability? You get maybe one of these per planet, and sometimes not even then. It's meant to test you skill, gear and tactics. And if you're having trouble on sand demon, lol, just wait till you get to the end boss of Ch1 or the end boss of CH3. The JK story bosses are no joke.
  19. @OP: So you're upset that a team that stacks healers can **gasp** heal themselves? You're upset that you, a single dps character, can't run in and roflpwn their entire group? I'm sorry, but I just see this as a case of someone who's upset that their niche isn't the be-all-end-all. You got countered, deal with it. Figure out a better group composition and come back when you got some skillz. A group of all healers is not without it's drawbacks (low dps chief among them). Figure out how to exploit their weaknesses.
  20. If you're talking about the xp from the quest turn in, how is the game supposed to tell the difference between someone who soloed the quest and someone who grouped up to complete the quest and then just dropped group for the turn-in? If you're talking about xp from killing mobs, then you do already get more xp than you would get from killing mobs in a group.

    Buff tracer missle

Why make them target at all? just auto-shoot tracer missle at anyone in LOS like the droid in EV.
  22. right click your portrait and select Phase > Operation difficulty mode. You can verify the difficulty by looking at the entrance to the instance, HM will have the same HM logo from HM FPs and NiM will have a skull logo. Normal will have no logo displayed.
  23. I don't think this is exploiting. Gravity Vortex, as well as Sunder Armor (JK) and other armor debuffs, are meant to benefit everyone in the group.
  24. Most planets have significant overlap areas where both factions are questing together. Leveling in beta and early game access, I saw many characters on the opposite faction, especially in Hoth, Belsavis and Voss. If that's not the case anymore, I think it's simply due to the fact that most servers are very sparsely populated. This is not a problem of the world PvP design, it's a problem of low pop servers.
