  1. For me purple RE are higher than orange, especially the T2 ones. The main issue about the orange items is the availability of the mods. I found it extremelly difficult to find enough purple mods for your own level while i see more purple gears. So, it seems easier to swap to purple items. Would be different if i can keep up with purple mods regularly. Maybe this is only an issue on my server.
  2. Just a quick question there. I understand that every Pet has it's own bonus for crafting, i.e. Vette for Underworld Trading and Treasure Hunting and Quinn for Armstech and Diplomacy. BUT , when you craft an item and try to RE it, does it apply to one dedicated pet or to all of them ? For example, I have been using Vette to RE all my items so far, does that mean SHE will get higher change to produce better quality item or would that bonus apply to the two others ? If it only applies to her it would mean that I would run into trouble as I need her to both craft and collect the raw mat for higher chance. So far am using her to craft only while I send Quinn and R2-D2...(or whatever its name his lol) to raw mat. If I switch, would I keep the same bous on Crafting or is it linked to her ? Thanks !
  3. I was under the same impression , i.e. orange not as good as crit item until I discussed with other players realized the following. 1) Orange items have a dedicated Rating level - Sets have higher rating than others, BUT it does not show on the stat of the item...:=( . For example, the Anointed Demicot Headgear shows a 7 armor (rating 6) while if you check it in the Craft Synthweaving list, it shows up at Rating 88 ! In parallel, The Channeler's Headgear (same stats) is only a rating 70. I am not 100% sure but to me, this would mean that the higher rating it is , the higher the stat would be when you add the mod. I have not done the test, and actually, this is a good idea, I will try later and let you know. However, I was told otherwise (ie, rating has no impact so I will check later) 2) Only some item modification have an impact on the stats Orange weapons and armor scale with the Hilt, Barrel or Armoring you put in them. Mods, Enhancements and Augments do not affect this. (answer from SadisticPixie from a post similar on the same topic, check here : http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=308467 3) Orange are mainly for customization look I think that is a given and seems to be the main driver for people getting orange stuff 4) Orange with purple mod = purple item Difficult to prove but yes, it would make sense. In case you RE an item to a T1 or T2 purple item, it would be higher than the basic orange unless you add some Purple mods.... In my personal case, I found it easier to change armors while leveling instead of trying to get the mods on GTN that are way too rare...:=)
  4. One quick question, when you say you have updated the list, do you refer to the one on the top of that thread ? Or do you mean a link outside Am trying to see which one you still need compared to my list.
  5. Think you got a good point here. Crafting a full set of belt, armguard, chest crom the same type seems pretty good idea. The only concern i would have is about the level needed to wear them. I realized there is usually up to 3-4 level different between items from the same set. Ie when you can wear the dragon krayt belt at level 29, the dragon krayt sash is level 32. This is just an example as i am afk, but you got the point. In that case, does building set still make sense ? Would people buy abead or accept to have lower level item ? I guess if purple, should be ok though
  6. You think it is better to put all of them at same time on GTN or one by one ? Of course one by one is troublesome but am worried that putting for example 10 items at once on GTN might lower its value, no ?
  7. Yes, think it could make sense. DiabloII net is such a reference. BTW, am a bit worried by their new auction system on D3 , but this is not the topic here. Worried because this auction system destroys all benefits of running the game with gears for your level, if you have money , buy the gear you need so loose the fun...am worried.. Anyway, back to SWTOR, will start to publish a list and see how players react.
  8. Actually I start to wonder if RE rate is not based on the type of item you RE. Let me explain...:=) I think indeed I have a pretty decent RE score because I used to RE only Heavy gears step by step. Focusing on one item, RE it , then RE the blue then moving up to the ladder. Of course some times, it takes me up to 10 items to RE. However, this morning, I tried to RE a green LIGHT item, lvl 25 (so below my level) for a friend. WOW it took me 10 times to do it....! So maybe the system remembers I RE only Heavy and then I loose my score if I start to RE light. dunno, just a theory...Hope though that i did not loose my "level" to RE blue Heavy items..but maybe not linked at all and I was just lucky... Anybody has a theory ?
  9. Thanks for your answers , let me comment below : @Snoodmaster : Yes I agree, purple item market price is a bit random currently. However, I manage to sell Purple RE rating 84 for 20k. Seems a bit cheap though, think should be able to go for 25k but can't find buyers there. @psandak : Agree on the issue that mid players tend not to spend too much money on item unless Relic, Off hands and Earpieces that are way too rare. For equipment, seems that 15k-20k is a max price for buyers. Issue is that sometimes, crafting that item cost you more (especially the one with Krayt Dragon stuff that sells up to 8k piece on GTN). @Darlgon : have noticed so far that green do not sell between lvl25-30. Blue and purple do. Think because players want to get better specs. But green sometimes is so cheap ! , crazy and with better primary stats than lower level blue. So am focusing more on blue ones. Having said that, price of Blue is very cheap as well so unless I RE a blue and sell it for profit, am not sure selling a blue item directly from the teacher (not an RE blue) at GTN price would make sense. @downface : unfortunately I think you are right. It takes efforts and time to craft those blue / purple items and not worth it (for synth weaving at least). But at same time, it is good to help other players too, so... When you talk about armor sets, you mean Orange Armor sets ? @Suepy : true they sell, but is it worth it ? very low profit and revenue. @Zanxscarce : yes so agree ! Armor sets for syntheweaving do not reach the same profit because I guess only few players choose implants or earpieces for crafting. @downface : curious, what do you sell for 400k a week end ? synth weaving around level 30 ? or items lvl 50 like earpieces , implants or ship upgrades ? @Quikklix : yes, will post a list of items. In the meantime, here is a first compilation for Heavy ITEM TYPE LEVEL RATING Armor ST EN CR DR SR AR PW PR Anti-Armor Rigid Flex Boots (superior) T2 29 84 315 20 27 15 18 18 0 0 0 Exactitude Rigid Flex Headgear (superior) T2 29 84 504 23 34 15 22 0 22 0 0 Redoubt Krayt Dragon Belt T1 29 84 315 28 32 0 11 0 0 0 0 Redoubt Rigid Flex Boots T1 29 78 297 30 27 15 16 0 0 0 0 Redoubt Rigid Flex Headgear T1 29 78 475 23 34 15 19 0 0 0 0 Veracity Krayt Dragon Belt (superior) T2 29 84 315 28 32 0 11 12 0 0 0 Critical Rigid Flex Armguards T1 27 74 279 21 24 8 0 0 0 0 0 Critical Rigid Flex Handgear T1 27 74 279 21 21 28 0 0 0 0 0 Endowment Rigid Flex armguards (superior) T2 27 78 297 21 24 10 0 11 0 0 0 Fervor Rigid Flex Armguards (superior) T2 27 78 297 21 24 10 0 0 11 0 0 Fervor rigid flex handgear (superior) T2 27 78 297 21 31 30 0 0 16 0 0 Overkill Rigid Flex Armguards T1 27 74 279 21 24 0 0 0 0 8 0 Commander rigit flex belt (superior) T2 25 74 279 26 14 0 0 0 0 9 10 Overkill rigid flex belt T1 25 68 261 26 14 0 0 0 0 8 0 Crit Synth Assault boots T1 23 70 261 30 25 25 0 0 0 0 0 Crit Synth Assault Armguards T1 21 64 244 18 23 7 0 0 0 0 0 Endowment synth assault armguards (superior) T2 21 64 244 18 23 7 0 8 0 0 0 Crit Synth Assault Handgear T1 15 52 184 17 22 8 0 0 0 0 0 Realized not necessarily easy to read the list so if you have a suggestion, let me know. I guess no choice but link to google doc or screen shot, right.
  10. Yeah, might try that first actually to see what traction it could get.
  11. Am not convinced of the economic value of the RE Purple T2 from T1. First of all,you would have to produce 4-5 (average) T1 purple , and this could be costly. Second, am not sure that the selling price difference between a T1 and a T2 would be enough to cover the additional raw mat needed plus the RE cost. So far, i only T2 for myself on specific items
  12. So, Imagine you are leveling up , not reached yet lvl 50, but mid game, level 30. You are crafting regularly and RE regularly so what should be the best strategy to increase revenue and skillset ? - Craft only the highest item based on your level (for example only the latest blue or purple) - Craft regularly all the purple and blue items you have RE (all purple from level 1 to 30) - Craft one item (purple for example) 10 x and put them all at once on GTN ? As you see, am struggling...:=) on one hand, crafting latest item bring more margin (sell higher price) but cost more. So is it worth it crafting the lower item that will not only stock pile raw mat but get less profit ? Same for the quantity. am always doubtful to produce 10x the same item because as I buyer I would think...hmmm, there are a lot so price will go down... what you think ?
  13. Ok this is the list I have. Please note for some of them, I have not reached the needed level to learn them (am only level 29, synthweaving 280). Have added more info: ( Requested level for character / Actual rating ). Would be great if you can help me to identify which one you need me to capture to avoid duplicate. One more thing I would love to add is a sort of price range for each of them. I have seen for example some going up to 300k ? (sith Champion if am not wrong) and others from 1k-5k....I thought price will increase with rating but it does not seem so... 14. 200k for orange Belt ? crafted or rare item ?
  15. yes, the idea is not to make business out of the game but give buyers/crafters more options. And definitively, payment should only be in credit within the game. any benefits for players you think ? would you use it ?
  16. Was wondering if it would be autorized by Bioware to open a sort of eshop where crafter could put on sales the items they have (listing) before crafting them to collect pre orders and then sell them 1:1 on the game. The idea is not to compete GTN but just to have the ability to preorder item as player and for crafter to show the list of potential RE purple schematics they own. What do you think ? Worth it ?
  17. Hey guys Fantastic thread, definitively worth a sticky. Am on the move right now and will compare my list of Orange schematics with yours and add what is missing. Am Jugg Sith Syntweaving lvl 290 (top of my head) and have a lot of orange schematics. I craft a lot of thise items and sell them on GTN. Interesting enough, their prices are not necessarily related to their lvl but only their look. For example, Sith Warrior head and Sith Warrior Chestguard look really cool and are therefore on high demand right now despite they are one of the lowest Heavy set. Do i send the missing screenshot directly to you or post there ? Would be great to keep the list updated.
  18. I beg to differ..:=) Veracity Krayt Dragon Belt Superior Mat is : - 4 x Xonolite - 8 x Krayt Dragon Scale - plus all the rest , 4 Demicot Silk, 4 Bondar Crystal, 4 Ancient Artifact Fragments. Xonolite alone is priced at 1000 Credit each on GTN at this time, up to 2.3k Kray Dragon Scale is priced currently at 4900 each !!! I was lucky I purchased some at 1k. So, just those two as today would cost you over 40k ! Of course if you are lucky and have time to send your padawan to do shopping and they bring those raw mat in quantity enough then you get it cheaper. SO yes, producing lvl 29 costs you a fortune sometimes
  19. yes, I think that is exactly what I mean...:=) thanks for making my point
  20. Cool, I like those debates. For sure , I now feel stupid on one thing, Yes you are RIGHT, I should have bought those items and resell them myself !!! (I knew I was not a real good salesman lol)..:=) stupid me.... Anyway, Again, am not trying to oversell and overprice things at all and I would be more than happy to craft for cheap price anything if players would gave me the raw mat to do it. I guess in MMORPG, there is a notion of Multi Players right, so what is it for if we can't help each others. One thing I hate his trolls, people taking benefits on abusive situation as well as opposite. So please, if you see one of my item too expensive for what it is supposed to be, by all mean, drop me a note and I will lower the price....:=) Good price, good market, good economy, happy customers, happy crafters... Regarding Lvl 50 items and Mandalorien Iron, yes it $$#@@@ !! With such pricing issues, there is no real motivation to craft item unless we want to give a legacy to the world....:=) but for the time, am only level 29 in any case so am not facing that issue yet
  21. Am asking myself the same question actually. Am level 29, Synthweaving 272, archeology 268, Underworld trading 256 wich tells you I craft and RE A LOT ! . I wanted to do that for a couple of reasons : - play without playing . I mean you have a bit of time to craft from time to time - get good gears - Make money So yes, it works, but YES it is painful, costly and is it worth to RE blue to get Purple ? I am not very sure. I just posted the same question actually because some people sell on GTN very cheap purple items, way below the cost of production. It gets you great item when looking at the stats actually. For example, I can produce Exactitute Rigid Flex Headgear (superior) with following stats : - 504 armor - Rating 84 - +23 Strength - +34 Endurance - +22 Accuracy rating - +15 critical rating - + 22 Defense rating Not bad for an item Level 29 only ! So Yes, I RE for me, and used it for me, as it is way better than any orange item I found because it is very difficult to find mobs that keeps levelling with you. However, when it comes to sell it, question is how much is this thing worth and how much it cost you to produce. I would be for an "offense" to sell it lower than let's say 15k. But at that price, at level 29, am not sure people will purchase it , so YES, it is a big dilemna for me. I would like actually to open a pre order store. Am thinking seriously about it . Players seing the stats they need could pay ahead, place order and get it delivered...that would prevent spending time to produce such nice items and leave them alone on empty shelves
  22. @LordoftheMoo : I would agree if people would do it on purpose. Most of the time those people have no clue they are killing the market and no clue about the value. Am not referring to a 10% cheaper but selling something 1k while you can sell it 10k is just criminal and totally "stupid" for everyone lol.... @others : True raw mat usually tend to make a bigger profit. As a crafter, I usually give for free a good equipment to the people I play with in a group. This is good business for me and hopefully they would contact me for more gears. Am not sure anymore though, maybe am too idealistic lol. @SintLuciferNL : yes agreed, most of the time it works, but when someone put 10x the same orange item for 1k credit, well, not anymore. We should put a rule there preventing people to screw the system lol The other thing is that I realized green items reaching level 25 + almost never sell at high price and it is very difficult to get good value for purple items for mid levels. First it cost money to produce and you want to generate a good profit, second, players tend to change frequently items so wont invest much. Maybe I should stick to blue and stop trying to RE them lol. But back to my original post, I wish there could be a Guild to contact those people and teach them how to do business...:=)
  23. This is a desperate call to all NEW Crafters...:=( I am not here to tell anyone to do anything, this is everyone responsibility. However, please be careful on your pricing and what you do to ensure you do not endanger GTN market price. 1) Purple and Blue items pricing - Before putting on GTN an item you have RE, check the approx price of individual Mats. Happened to see some items listed at 2450 while it required like 5 Dragon Krayt MAT to build and each of them would cost you between 1k to 5k each ! This means the item you are selling 2.5k could cost you up to 25k to produce and not only you loose 22k in the operation but you totally destroy GTN market price list 2) Orange item Same here and before you put on sell a nice orange item you learned from a schematic, check its market price please. I now see crafters putting some level 39 Phobium item at 1779 ! OMG !!!!! You could sell this from 10k to 25k at least...... While I am totally open for a sane competition between crafters, being cheaper is always good for the customer of course, we are all here to do business so please be careful....:=) Same would go in combat where you would expect people to behave and play properly right ? While it goes same here. Wondering what we can do...and I am afraid nothing much.... Maybe we should create a Merchant Guild like in old time and control GTN pricing... Any suggestion before I start to cry because on non experienced players destroying a great economy market.....:=)
  24. wow...40k each ? 80k mastercraft ? is it because those are lvl 50 items ? Am level 27, I usually sell my purple 10k, you think I am too cheap ?
  25. thanks for the answers. been trying so far to RE purple and failed. Guess stats is way lower than RE blue and I need to increase my level. Not sure it is worth so to RE multiple purple just to get additional stats. Only make sense if the selling price of those level 2 purple is way higher than level 1 , but not sure anyone will do the difference lol
