  1. The Assassin tanking has the Darkcharge (someone previously linked it), it increase threat generation and armor value, but also there is another ability (Dark Ward) that increases your shield chance quite a bit. Nice guide here. http://blackrabbit2999.blogspot.com/2011/12/swtor-sith-assassin-darkness-tank-guide.html
  2. Also remember to look for gear upgrades to your companion. I'm not saying turn down a sweet reward for yourself to gear your companion, but remember they need gear too. While we are on the subject, assure your healing companion has Med Watch turned on, and any fluff abilities turned off. Check this periodically because they get turned back on/off when you mount, die, quick travel etc. Also I noticed you said something about your lightsaber, so I gotta ask, your using 2 sabers right? The guild I am in has had some people run into leveling snags and the top 3 things that normally help them the most are: 1. Skill tree, what skill tree are you using, more importantly at your level your just using 1 tree? If you spread your points around it can be more hurtful in the long term. 2. Gearing, keeping you orange gear updated, and your other gear upgraded does help. You mentioned they were all current so all I will say about this is remember your Hilt mods increase your sabers damage rating and armoring increases your armor values in addition to the stats they have with them. 3. Ability usage, since I don't play Marauder I can't help here. Maybe some out there can tell ya what they do to help kill stuff quicker. Also if you have any CC type abilities to stun, knock down or incapacitate your victims using them makes a world of difference. (btw, another silly thing to ask, but you have been making sure you keep buying your abilities from the trainers on BOTH warrior and marauder tabs right?) Hope things get worked out for ya, best of luck....
  3. As well, when you make your Matrix Cube it will be in your Mission inventory section. Just drag and drop to equip.
  4. 1. Grab your datacrons, make your matrix cube relic, farm Daily Commendations from Ilum and Belsavis (well Belsavis for Empire idk about Pubs). LFG (look for group) for some of the 48-50 flashpoints or even 50 HM (hard modes, note all the flashpoints regardless of level can be run on HM for level 50 fun and tom foolery). You can also work on your Crew Skills more. 3. Yes there are, by events do you mean raiding stuff or like guild ghost story night? There are lots of kinds of guilds, some types are harder to find than others. Use general chat to aid your search. 4. I have not yet done raids in swtor but the basic premise for all raids I've ever been in despite what it was is: Kill trash mobs (non-bosses) leading to the Boss. 1 or 2 tanks (sometimes more based on raid size) tank the Boss and his adds (additional mobs he has or summons while fighting him) The dd/dps (damage dealers/damage per second) follow a kill order (raid leader gives this out) and stay out of bad stuff like fire, poison, etc. The healers keep everyone alive as best they can. Aided greatly by players not standing in the aforementioned bad stuff. If all goes well sweet loot is gotten from boss and distributed via the raids loot rules. Rinse/repeat until last boss of raid is dead. The best advice I can give ya overall is find a friendly helpful guild and keep a notepad and pen next to your PC. Jot down notes of things you wanna know more about. Skim the forums, lots of times people have already asked questions you haven't thought of yet. If all else fails, Google is your best friend.
  5. All the ideas others have given are good ones. You could also re-roll same class but choose different light/dark side if you want. What would I do? I'd hit up the forums for my class and figure it out if I could, then if I really liked the class story but couldn't get past the mechanic/other issues I'd re-roll same class pick new other AC and go with it.
  6. Experience is the best teacher for a Guild Leader. The best advice I can give ya: If you have good interpersonal relationship skills you can make a good guild leader. Choose officers wisely, don't give some power to promote/demote if you don't feel you can count on that persons judgement. Don't get frustrated at drama, ok well get frustrated, just don't give up. Drama happens in newer guilds almost always. To be honest handling guild drama could almost be a book. Decide what direction (if any) your guild is going in. PvP, Operations, Crew Skills, Role Playing, all the above. Time, simply put will you have time to be a guild leader? Keeping yourself available to your guild as well as organizing activities etc. (officers can help with this if you have good ones). Lastly, will your guild be hardcore or casual, family friendly or rated M for mature, big or small? You don't have to decide all this right now, but think on it, discuss it with your guildmates once you get them. GL dude
  7. My main is a 50 Assassin, and soloing wasn't bad at all.
  8. I have had pending missions turn ins form crew skills last a 3 days, beyond that idk, but I wouldn't think it would disappear, but I wouldn't tempt to it either :-)
  9. I'm healing on my operative and have noticed nearly the same thing (minus the hovering). Say I keybind a heal to middle mouse button, I click on the players frame and use the middle mouse button and nothing. However if I move my mouse outside of the frame (after targeting them) for the player and use middle mouse button it will cast the heal correctly. I mostly use numbers and shift+numbers for my bindings so this isn't much of a issue for myself. Hope thsi works for you, gl.
  10. As well your Companion's portrait will get an icon on in the upper left when they want to speak with you, this will indicate privately or specifically on your ship (all I've seen so far). Additionally you can click to talk to them in cities or while questing and if they want to talk to you they will tell you so.
  11. I have not heard or read of where anyone has determined what your asking. There is a good tanking stat/math guide out there I have skimmed over for the heck of it, as I don't have a tank at the moment. http://blackrabbit2999.blogspot.com/2011/12/swtor-immortal-defense-tanking-guide.html
  12. I wouldn't take it personally if your having a hard time creating social connections. In many cases people become tunnel visioned on a flashpoint, quest, etc. Programs like team speak, ventrillo, etc enables players to talk to each other via headsets, speaker/microphone combos. My guild of long time gaming buddies use ventrillo so while me and my friends/guildies are questing separately we can chat. The added bonus is when we do run things together communication is easier. If your guildless, finding a guild that fits you well will greatly increase your experiences with other players. P.S. I understand what you mean by the one syllable responses, I often think that is a product of texting :-)
  13. I can't say for 100% sure about this, but I think all the quests and relationship stuff is determined by your affection rating with your companion. Maybe you can fix it with a few gold necklaces? Now I am not going to say that 20 levels from now she might be like "your bantha fodder you yelled at me once!"
  14. I understand what your saying, I played as a clicker for a long time too, I started using keybinds to for my most used skills (like top 4) and I started to like it and now use binds almost 99% of the time. Of course your cash, you can play by whatever means you wish, just sharing my experiences with it. To the OP: I saw some features for keybinding options to scroll quickslots (hotbars) in the Preference-->Keybinding-->Quickslots section. Unsure if this could be used to your advantage but thought I'd throw it out there. GL guys have fun.
  15. Alacrity increases ability activation time Power (from what I have read) increases ability output (+dmg, +healing) regardless of dmg/heal type (spell/tech/what ever else). This I have not confirmed for each class first hand). There will also be other stats you'll run into that seem pretty easy +Crit, +Defense, +Accuracy, etc. Best advice I can give ya, is to watch your Character Sheet © stats while you change the gear out, see what (if anything) changes, then mouse-over to drill down. GL with your saga dude.
  16. Disclaimer here, I have never used this tool I am linking. I have heard it works on many MMO's as an Out of Game parser. Personally I'm not all that much for parsing, but to each their own. Either way, hope you enjoy the game. http://advancedcombattracker.com/
  17. I registered Pre-order on 10/26. I'll be leaving for the dentist in a few (dang wisdom tooth being yanked), but I'll let you guys know when I know.
  18. Nice info! I do remember a recount of the filming of the scene where Luke finds out Vader is his father. There was a lot of secrecy, and I think only a few people knew of the Vader father thing by the time of the movies release.
  19. I don't have hate for Binks, but I do think his time in the story should have ended after taking Obi Wan and Anakin to the Gun Gun city.
  20. From the Galaxy we know in the SW Universe, the Mandalorian and the pirates they were chasing, had "first contact". These often contained the consciousness of their creator, which teach you all they knew during their life, even if you probably not ready to know it.
  21. I just wanted to say that this thread reminds me of the whole "Tasty Wheat" deal from the Matrix. “How did the machines know what Tasty Wheat tasted like. huh? Maybe they got it wrong. Maybe what I think Tasty Wheat tasted like actually tasted like oatmeal or tuna fish. That makes you wonder about a lot of things. You take chicken for example, maybe they couldn't figure out what to make chicken taste like, which is why chicken tastes like everything.”
  22. I know that my Assassin and my buddies Marauder at 13 did the Black Talon FP with a our friend on a lvl 10 Merc and his Companion healed it. Not sure if that type of deal would work in later levels though.
  23. I do not support an in game version of recount, nor do I support third party parsers. My reason is that I do not require it's use.
