  1. I love the look at feel of this game, the gameplay, the storylines, even the people I have grouped with. The only thing I really hate is this community on the forum WOW had people that sucked in the game and on the forum, most of the people I have met in this game have been really nice, nothing like the forums. I usually don't go to the forums because I cannot stand the people here. Everything is QQ this QQ that. It is a game, not life, go outside if you hate it so much. I am also approaching the big 30, my first child on the way, and this is a way for me to relax and unwind. Have a beer(or 4) and enjoy myself. Some people take these games way to seriously. One guy in a locked thread said, and I quote, "I took the day off from work to customize my UI," and now he can't because the servers are down. I hope he was joking.
  2. Ahh, your first MMO. This post makes sense now... Also, as MMO's go, this one is pretty easy to level and get cash. The good thing is, with all that cash, there are quite a few places to spend it. Sucks when you have money and nothing ot do with it. I played WOW casually for a while, only got to like lvl 50 when the cap was 60(i think) and wasn't interested in the game. This actually keeps you interested while you level and I find that the main storyline follows the leveling pretty well. Just go through the story for each toon(which is why I buy a BW game anyway...Story) and you will get what you want in no time. Understand the model for the game your playing, this is an MMO, they want to hook you and keep the monthly revenue coming, period. That is why these games exist. If you don't like it, star wars connect is for you.
  3. Anyone know how quickly toon names recycle. I have never played a tank in any MMO before so I am going guardian. If I end up hating it i have a few questions. 1. If i wipe the toon, how quickly can i get the name back. I got on early and got Jaina on the light and Jaycen(sp isn't right but it is what I could get) on the dark side. Just want to know the timing if the name becomes instantly available. 2. More a question for the Guardian forum but how good is the DPS tree in guardian if I had to switch. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
  4. Bump. Just wasted a crap load of mats on a scatter gun with no RE. In the same amount of time I had two comps making scatterguns and had the other two making pistols. I was able to get the pistol to purple and still not one blue from the scatter, im giving up.
  5. one more bump for anymore info. Things move fast on the general discussion
  6. I agree, I have other characters to roll, but what I really want to know if how to take care of this one. So I will do the datacron thing(forgot about that) and keep grinding the dailies. As for Ops or flashpoints, what are good beginer ones? I just don't know which ones to join when people are looking for more in their group.
  7. and I am underpowered. People don't want to include me on ops because I don't have the right gear yet, which is understandable. The question that I have is what should I be looking for in gear. I know aim, but are power and aim interchangeable? Should I be looking for aim more than power? What other stats should I be looking at for a Commando that went Gunnery? Is Gunnery the right way to go for PvE? Right now I'm hitting at about 8800 for max dmg, what should I be shooting for? What gear should I be picking up? Overall, if I want to do HM's and ops, where should I start. I know I have a lot of questions but any help would be appreciated.
  8. Here is the thing, I have played the storyline most of the time (a little PvP) and now I am lvl 50, so now what. I have to gear up because I know my gear is lacking. What I want to do is get into operations, see the end game content, but I feel like everyone is more powerful than me. I am a Commando and I saw a Vanguard that had more dmg output then me. I know it is gear related so what do I do. I have started doing some of the daily stuff on Ilum and Balsalvis but that is about it. What "should" I be doing to gear up for operations and HM's? What HM's should I be getting into, what operations are good starters for me? I have never had a max character in any game (Galaxies, Wow, Guild Wars) and I am feeling a little lost. Any help, suggestions, or points in the right direction would be helpful. I just feel like I just got to 50 and already I'm behind.
  9. How about dailies. Any information on those?
  10. I know, this isn't a "new player thread" so to say, but I don't really know what to do at 50. I have played Galaxies, I have played WOW, I typically kept to myself. No guild, no huge friends list, just a casual player that has never maxed out a toon. I want this game to be different. I am going to join a guild, do raids, operations, etc. I have a few general questions though. 1. Is there a lvl 50 guide out there that someone knows of. 2. Can anyone provide some of the abbreviations that are used. Someone mentioned Soa, I said what is that, he said the boss of EV. OHHH, that helps. I know this will come with time but any help would be appreciated. 3. Are there guilds for casual players. I am on Jedi Covenant(Wedge) and I want guild where they have events, but I'm not "required" to be there. I have a job, wife, life outside SWTOR so are there guilds for me. 4. I have never done any end game content. I have never maxed out a toon. Just an explanation of what kinds of raids there are, what they consist of(hell, what the hell a raid is), why am I doing the end game content, just any end game pointers for someone that knows NOTHING about it. Any help would be appreciated.
  11. So does anyone know of any sites out there, or other posts here, that have scavenging location information? Basically which planets are good for what materials. If there is a site or a post please add it here. Thanks.
  12. I was searching the net but I think information like this is still to new. Does anyone know a set that list good farming locations? I am looking for electrum( as well as others) and I am wondering if anyone knows the best locations to get these. Honestly, the yeld from crew missions is not that great compared to the amount that I need. I am trying to become a "known" arms dealer on my server so I am trying to find the best location to farm these mats. IF anyone can help, thank you and may the force be with you.
  13. thanks for the reply's. Looks like it is back to grinding at it then. As long as I know I'm not wasting the mats. Thanks.
