  1. Lethality has a nice boost since the patch. I am pretty pleased with the results of what we can do. I have also been enjoying a hybrid heal/dps http://pts.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/operative/230/?build=020303220210023002110000000000000200000000000000000000000000000002302221012022010000000000000000&ver=20 Lethality build http://pts.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/operative/230/?build=000300000000000000000000000000002300010000000000000000000000000002322021012220211120301103200100&ver=20
  2. Not enough spelling errors and I can still understand what you are trying to say... you are not failing hard enough.
  3. It was not in the patch notes, that's why I am making a deal out of it. I am not complaining, just bringing this to light. I like the change so I can get both the DOT's on the target and cull the sh*t out of the target. 9k smash is nothing compared to getting culled with two DOT's on you 3 times in a row in 3 GCD's. Afterwards I will exfiltrate out and continue to dot everyone up.
  4. Yes, I was actually wondering why my grenade was not working... in fact I was just spamming it over and over again.
  5. I shouldn't bring this to light because I have been enjoying this way too much during leveling and pvp. EA/BW has removed the cooldown on the operatives corrosive grenade. It costs 10 energy (which is low) and does more base damage (3500 over 21 sec) than my corrosive dart (2500 over 18 sec). Since I am spec'ed into lethality, I wanted to try the corrosive grenade slow ability (If struck with corrosive grenade, target is slowed 30% for 6 seconds), otherwise I think it is a skill you should not take (pre 2.0). All in all, what you get is an operative who can AOE dot and AOE slow while spamming corrosive grenade. Is this intended?
  6. Brobi, You are the best... but no one wants to watch you level.... <3 -Gerb
  7. I do hate knocking builds, but dps/dps hybrid for the OP just doesn't seem like it would be the most effective. Your rotation will take incredibly too long. Corrosive dart > Corrosive grenade > cull is 3 gcds HS > Shiv > Lac > Lac > (Lac) > BS is 6 gcds (plus in melee range with no acid blade) I just don't see it working quite yet.
  8. I looked into it, but there are not enough ways to get TA's besides shiv. You will have no staying power. If you would like, post your potential build.
  9. Background: I heal rateds with the standard build. I pug as lethality or lethality/healing hybrid. I don't play concealment. My question to operatives that pvp : Do you use carbine burst? I am valor 91 on my operative, but I cannot decide if the skill is worth it. Can I get some responses from people who actually pvp often.
  10. You bumped a thread because it was 8 minutes old... Swtor forum = twitter feed
  11. All solo queue option = Team Deathmatch 8 pugs : Chance of dps 90% Chance of healer 5% Chance of tank 5% Chance of everyone looking out for themselves and not the team 97% 4 pugs and 1 premade: Chance of dps, should be at least two from the premade... pugs will most likely be dps Chance of healer, premades usually bring one Chance of tank, 20% Chance of teamwork, much higher because they dont want to let the people they are playing with down You want a balanced team of 4 and you are a dps... /1 "LF3M 50 WZ. need 1 heals" Honestly, I pug for the challenge sometimes.
  12. I agree with this statement. But I do enjoy RWZ's. Let me start by saying first... buy the field respec (200k creds) on that character so you can try all of the builds while leveling and pvp'ing. I am on the other side of the fence (empire) , but our abilities are mirrored. Below are the standard skills for each of the trees. These can be altered of course to your liking, but these are pretty standard. Healing: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701McfrzGoRdsZ0cZGb.2 Scrapper : http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#7010cZGhMkdbRdGRZhr.2 Dirty fighting: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701bc0MZhZhrbkrMGdhR.2 Hybrid Healing/DPS : http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701rccrzG0kzZZhrrkM0h.2 Scoundrel healing is always needed in RWZ's, but as for the other trees, not so much. I have been able to run some RWZ's as lethality (Dirty Fighting) as the ranged dps spot, but as of now (pre 2.0) there are better options out there for the ranged dps. FOR OP: Are scoundrels in a good place atm for PVP ? Yes, I believe in regular wz's you can have fun with any of the 4 builds listed above. If you need help or the trolls come out, remember you can always post in the class forums as well.

  14. Most of these statements are false. XP is not given for kills or medals in WZ's. For lowbies, XP is given for how much time you spent in the WZ.
  15. Let me tell you a secret of mine. I hate playing lowbies. Lowbie pvp is a joke and a half. WZ leveling guide: 1. Buy all the wz legacy upgrades (36% extra xp) 2. Buy the wz experience boost (25% extra xp) 3. Stealth in a wz and play another game and let the match go on as long as possible. (make sure not to time out and not attack anyone for 5 min or you will be kicked) Wz XP is based on the amount of time you spent in that wz at a given level. The more time you spend in the wz, the more XP you get. Medals, winning, and objectives do not add to the experience you receive. If BW/EA wanted to make lowbie more competitive, give an XP bonus for winning a wz. As a stealth, you can sit in the corner all match and just let the XP flow. I do not condone this for level 50 pvp because XP doesn't matter.
  16. Operatives can only cleanse tech and physical effects.
  17. It's about to get nasty. http://i.imgur.com/wq3xT0z.jpg Dust off your operatives, it's about to get real. I run 7/3/31 Lethality and I plan to do much of the same come 2.0. Operatives finally got an escape and gap closer in the same move. At the cost of a potential overbearing 25 energy, a 12 meter roll (with potential dodge chances) can get you out of trouble in no time. Exfiltrate followed by rolling into cover will be a fantastic way to get out of melee range and make it unavailable for warriors to jump to you once in cover. This new ability will be the operatives go-to mechanic for all 3 trees. I play the operative for lethality first and healing second (healing for RWZ mainly). I am not a concealment player and I don't ever want to be, so do no QQ about concealment to me because it is your fault you are not playing one of the two other trees that shine. Let's talk Lethality. The class just turned from a spread dot spec with very little single target damage (some but not much) to a class with two options. You can still spread the dots as normal, but when you are ready to single target... it's on. Ensure two dots are on the target... Exfiltrate > Shiv > Cull > Cull (60 percent of the time) > Stim boost > Cull > Exfiltrate out If one would like more dps on the target, add another shiv/cull. But Gerbly... we already use the shiv/cull mechanic. Yes, but now you can roll to the target, shiv (get the speed bonus at 4 meters from the target) use cull while still running (since we the operative cull is instant) and roll out. This would happen in two global cooldowns exactly when you want since there is no cooldown on exfiltrate. There is no need to stay in melee range because of the exfiltrate mechanic. Having trouble killing that operative healer? More trouble in 2.0 with Exfiltrate Trying to escape that poor soul playing concealment? More trouble in 2.0 Trying to kite that skirmisher that is getting ready to unleash the culls? You'll be dead in seconds after 2.0 Happy hunting and good luck killing operatives... FOTM Edit we have lost 9% damage on corrosive dart, through Imperial brew. Can someone confirm this?
  18. Thank you for pointing that out. I had no idea. This would nearly mimic undying rage, except we do not have to lose half of our life. Lethality will be able to put up huge numbers and will finally have some 'efficient' burst. Burst will come in the form of cull and only cull, but the utilities we will have at our disposal will make this viable. If you don't think it will be viable, come find me after RotHC and watch operative damage soar.
  19. The only concern I have is how much QQ'ing the other team will do after the sweet buff to lethality ops. Dot > roll in > shiv > cull > cull (60 percent of the time) > stim boost > cull > roll out
  20. Thank you for the response.
  21. Blanket. It's called infiltrate. It lasts 15 seconds and cannot be used if you are in combat or in stealth. It could be a trick, but I believe the overall effectiveness would be negligible.
  22. +1 from a lethality brother
