    OP need nerf.

    This. /Thread
  2. Awesome video, great play! As an Operative DPS player I can only smile at such a comment. We may achieve higher dmg numbers on the scoreboards due to dots and AoE damage, but doing 15k burst damage in less than 2 seconds is just a distant dream for us. And it's far more effective than dots and AoE can be. Not to mention all the utility and survivability that Shadows/Sins got on top of it. No, I don't think that Infiltration should get nerfed. But compare it to Concealment/Scrapper (the other stealth spec in this game) and you know you are in very good shape right now.

    Buff Operatives

If you are specced into Emergent Emergencies you cannot really call that a hybrid anymore as it is pretty much a full healing spec when used in pvp. I don't think anyone in this thread thinks that Operative healing is too weak right now and needs a buff. This thread is a dicussion about the dps specs. If you pick healing (or hybrid whatever) over the dps spec then you are basically proving the OPs point.

    Buff Operatives

ITT: Lots of people that are still scared of Operatives and don't realize that they pose no real threat anymore.

    Buff Operatives

I completely agree with the original poster. Rarely do I see any DPS Operatives in my warzones and if I do they pose no real threat. They are just too easy to control. Once they get knocked back/slowed/rooted/whatever they become pretty helpless. And I also agree with the assumption that DPS Ops will not be part of any strong rated WZ team. But we will see that soon enough.
  6. Okay that is EXACTLY what I noticed. Can anyone else please confirm this so we can be sure it is not just a bug that is only happening to a some people?
  7. I was recently killed by a team of Marauders. They didn't even have to stunlock me (actually i was root-locked!) because they shred me to pieces within 3 seconds. This is likely going to make me unsub. I also was recently attacked by an Operative. I almost didn't notice him but something was tickeling me... Then I turned laziely around, saw that DPS Operative and killed him. I was eating a sandwich at the same time. Now I wish I had taken a picture of the fight because I hadn't seen a DPS Op in a while... They are such a rare breed.
  8. Giving this a shameless bump.
  9. First of all: Very good post and I agree with most of it. But: Your argument about 1v1ing on the sides in Civil War is only valid if you are playing against bad players/teams and becomes incorrect when you are playing against any decent premade. Any decent team (when they have two nodes) will guard the node that is not being attacked with two players (not one), as soon as they realize that they are up against a team that includes stealth classes. The six remaining players will still be able to defend the one that is under pressure quiet comfortably. So yes, Operatives are great at soloing a node 1v1 (even though I still think Sins are better at the job, especially when the defender knows how to play/kite) but they won't even get the chance to do that against any sort of organized team. And that is the big problem that our class is facing. We have no unique utility _at all_ in rated warzones. All of our strengths will be nullified by proper teamplay of our opponents, and we are the only class that has this problem right now. On a side note: I am pretty impressed about how many thoughtful and factual posts this thread has recieved after the mixture of insults (lvl 21 telling lvl 50s that they need to "L2P") and lies ("9k damage in a single hit") that the OP started this thread out with.
  10. He didn't say that putting a dot on everyone is how lethality works. He only said that that is the easiest way to achieve ridiculous high dmg numbers.
  11. Not sure if you are serious. Snipers and Gunslingers are exact mirror classes.
  12. I agree that it would be ideal (in most cases) to wait until Stim Boost has worn off until you refresh it, even when specced into Combat Stims, because our TAs are too useful. So what Combat Stims basically does is giving you 10 energy every 45 seconds. Since Stim Boost gives you 45 energy over 45 seconds you can increase that number to 55 energy over 45 seconds if specced into Combat Stims. In other words: Instead of 1 energy per second, you now gain 1.22 energy per second. Of course, sometimes you will be at max energy when you activate Stim Boost and not benefit from Combat Stims at all. Other times you will benefit greatly from Combat Stims when you really need that "extra energy on demand" and refresh Stim Boost sooner for example when you're healing someone. Overall I would say that Combat Stims is very useful for hybrid healer/lethality Operatives and not very important to fully specced lethality Ops. That said, the way that our tree is designed there is really nothing better to spec into... Deadly Directive and Flash Powder are borderline useless so you pretty much HAVE to take Combat Stims if you want to spec deeper into the lethality tree. By the way this is one of the biggest complaints that I have about that skill tree. There are too many useless skills in the bottom tiers of the tree which really cut down on our options to choose from.
  13. ..Yeah that is a great reason to not allow friendly duels.....
  14. When I am queueing in a group and we are waiting for the next queue pop I cannot really go into another group with another player just to get on one ship to make a duel, can I? I still don't see any reason why we shouldn't be allowed to duel in the Combat Training area on the fleet. It is called Combat Training after all... what better way to train for combat than making a friendly duel or watch others that are dueling?
  15. Scoundrel DPS [x] can clear all endgame content [ ] can do it as easiely as other DPS classes
  16. No I didn't. If there is a thread already covering this topic I'd appreciate if you let me know where I can find it though. Using the search function didn't give me any results.
  17. At least in the Combat Training areas o the fleets we should be allowed to duel each other. It would be great fun when waiting for the next queue pop. Ilum and Tatooine on my server are pretty much dead and I don't fancy having very long loading screens every time a warzone ends. But on the fleets in the Combat Training areas you see all of the players that you are playing with every day and I would like to be able to duel them.
  18. It's an interesting question but I don't think it is as simple as you make it out to be. Speccing into Combat Stims gives you the advantage of getting some "burst energy" on demand instead of only providing you with a steady increase of energy regeneration. That burst energy can be quite important, especially with the way our energy system is scaling. You also need to remember that you CAN use stim boost more often but you don't HAVE to, because Combat Stims does not decrease the duration of Stim Boost. So yeah, I think Combat Stims is worth it. But as you already pointed out, it might not as good as most players think.
  19. Seriously it is not hard to do over 400k damage even post 1.2. I usually do over 300k damage while healing for ~100k so if I really dedicated to doing damage I would exceed the 400k quiet frequently. That said, other dps classes/specs have no problem doing 500-600k damage while having better utility and survivability.
  21. If you are talking about me I suggest you reread my posts as you don't seem to have really comprehended them.
  22. Maybe I'll try to do that, mostly to make Bioware aware of this problem. I have never recorded anything with Fraps though, so I'll have to see how that goes. However what you would see on that video would be something like this: Beginning of a Huttball match, I go mid (unstealthed) and cast my Orbital Strike next to where the ball spawns. Nobody hits me while I am channeling OS. The same moment that the channeling ends I am put "in combat" and have to blow my vanish CD in order to do any serious damage. It's been like that since the 1.2 update.
  23. The only class that I am seeing TONS of in the 10-49 bracket are SNIPERS. Marauders I don't see that many, and they aren't nearly as strong as the ones that you meet in the 50 bracket anyways.
  24. As I said: It puts me in combat 90% of the time immediately after the casting has finished, before the first tick.
