  1. Kira all the time. Manange your threat level and she's brilliant. She says some funny stuff sometimes too. Only problem i've found is that enemies who deal internal damage can be a bit rough. But nothing gamebreaking.
  2. I just posted about this on another thread. Valis is easy if you know what you're doing. If you don't, he's impossible. Everyone has trouble the first time. But after you realise that his cast abilities can be interrupted and/or dodged, and your threat level can be managed, the fight becomes easy. First time i tried it i was a L25 Sentinel and i failed for 2 days before i beat him. I just played as a Guardian and beat him at L22 with 80% of my health remaining and Kira undamaged. It's all about blocking his attacks, keeping yourself geared up, and sending Kira in first before jumping in yourself. Get out of the way of his big AoE attacks and interrupt whenever possible....do that and it's a piece of cake. Valis is a pushover.
  3. I've battled Valis 3 times now. I understand everyone's comments on this one...but it's really a lot easier than it looks. Except if you were watching that YouTube clip linked to before....in which case it would be just as easy as it looks.... The first time i did it I was a Sentinel barely at L25. It took me 2 nights of solid gameplay and furious googling to get it done, and i barely scraped through with Kira in a coma. It took a lot of skin-o-my-teeth interrupting and medpacking (previously i hadn't realised interrupting was an option....) Second time, i did it reasonably comfortably at L24 as a Guardian, using the same technique i had as a Sentinel. I just beat him a third time as another Guardian, this time at L22. I had 80% health remaining at the end of the fight, Kira hadn't lost any health at all. Summary....Valis is no harder than any other elite. He simply does more damage. He is a great lesson for anyone not overly familiar with TOR.
  4. If you were to sacrifice anything (i'm no tank btw) i'd say probably shield chance would be it. A bit of power doesn't hurt, but i'm not sure that increasing power would change your level of aggro. Couldn't hurt though, either
  5. Yes rage is bad blah blah blah you people always say that and you're always Vengeance spec. Prove it's so bad. Prove that you can make a solid argument with no holes in it. Maybe you should petition for it to be removed from the game if you're that offended by it. The difference between Vengeance spec and Rage spec is that Vengeance is one vs one based and Rage is AoE based. That's it. They're no better or worse than any other spec in any other advanced class in any other base class. That's the only fact that matters about any spec. nice lol
  6. Typically you'll have a few different rotations that you'll work out for different situations. There's your normal PvE one that you should probably use more or less the same as normal most of the time. If you're rage spec you'll use a couple of quick rotations to get a Smash out there, and maybe a rotation for between Smashes, but really most of it is just go by feel. The more you play, the more automatic everything will become. Best tip ever is to map all your most commonly used abilities to easy-to-reach quickslots and/or just assign them a key.
  7. Use a shield, guard healers and taunt anyone attacking said healer. Once you've gotten that out of the way, Smash the hell out of everyone you see. You seem to have that part down pretty well. But please please please get a shield (focus is really really a huuuuuuuge waste with your spec) and try to put some points into Unleashed if you can too. Biggest problem with Juggs is the lack of stun breaker, so that should make it a little more bearable. All in all though, not bad at all.
  8. For tank, you will want to equip armor (or mods for armor) that have Defense, Absorption or Shield Rating. The only other stat you may want is power, but damage and healing aren't your primary roles so it's not necessary. As long as your have a high Shield Chance, high Shield Absorption rate, high Defense Chance and high Damage Reduction then you're doing all you can stat-wise. Anything that increases Internal or Elemental damage reduction is a definite plus as well. If you're going to have 2 different sets of gear, i'd recommend you go for BM/WH gear for PvP (have a look at the War Leader stuff, but you'll most likely end up either modding the BM stuff or mix 'n' match with the Vindicator set). For PvE if you want the best you'll need to go for campaign gear. Black Hole vendor has some really nice stuff. Check it out at the fleet next time you're there. In fact, check out all the high level gear whenever you can. If you're not 110% serious about the game and don't spend all your waking hours playing it, i'd seriously think about having just the one gear set and make it usable for both. But it's up to you, you'll definitely do better but it'll cost you a fortune. Btw....your skill tree link is broken.
  9. This is highly dependent on what spec you're running and what sort of play style you have. I could probably give you a spec to look at, but the best way you can do this is to take a good look at all your abilities and skills available to you in the skill tree. Look at which moves you're using the most, look at all the effects that those moves have and what type of damage they do (kinetic, internal, elemental etc etc). Also check out which abilities have effects best used in conjunction with other abilities. If you haven't already done this, fine tune your rotation based on all these things, and work out which abilities can get you out of trouble. You'll probably find you'll get the most out of maximising your Power, Critical and Surge, in that order. The only real differences between PvP and PvE as far as your fighting style goes are that enemies don't move around anywhere near as much, they don't use as many stuns, they don't surprise you by having their friends jump into the contest to help them, and their attacks are extremely predictable. If you are playing well in PvP there's no reason you should be doing badly in PvE at L50. L50 PvE is easy. It only gets tough when you group up for nightmare mode/hardmode flashpoints and ops etc
  10. I don't have a lot of experience with augmented gear, but i'll try to help if i can. Go to http://www.torhead.com, 95% of the stuff on the site has been updated for 1.2, so it's pretty accurate. You should be able to find out a lot about what's available and where to get it from there. Most will be found on GTN though. You may want to check Republic GTN too, the gear looks different when you take it across to the other faction so you might find some great stuff there.
  11. Rage and Vengeance are totally different, but all 3 Jugg trees are kinda slow to get started. Not much happening before about L30, and even then you'll be wanting until you complete the tree at L41 or so. As far as the Eviscerate/Draining Scream question goes, Eviscerate is better than Draining Scream, most people either go eithe Eviscerate or they don't bother at all. There's better things than Draining Scream to put points into. Juggs are great at surviving at just about everything as long as you remember all your defensive CDs, stuns, KBs and interrupts. The only thing you'll really have to worry about are Assassins/Shadows and Smugglers/Agents that have more than one stun or stun you in groups. That can be a pain as you only have the 1 stun breaker, and if you get stunned twice without being able to break it then you will be cut to pieces. What changes at L50 is the difference between classes. The gap prior to L50 is not all that great, and mostly level is the dividing factor. At L50, it's valor that separates. It's all about how well geared you are and how good you are at playing the game. A good player will do well regardless of gear (mostly, obviously if you're in L10 gear at L50 you'll be killed a lot), but if that good player is also well geared.... All you really need to remember as far as countering other classes is that it's not wise to be far away from a ranged class, and it's not wise to stand still against a melee class. User your abilities wisely and avoid attacking groups if all your abilities are on CD. Other than that it sounds like you're doing pretty well.
  12. ^^ I do that and it works brilliantly. So much more effective than using tank gear. I don't know why i ever used Shii-Cho form now.
  13. It's too bad you're light side, or Jaesa could have made all that effort worth your character's while.... I'm ridiculously impressed by your 4 levels down effort too, by the way. I found it easy at L31, but at L28? Good effort.
  14. How does being immortal spec fair in pvp? i would imagine the low dps as a problem gettting kills and such right?? As a tank your only role is to stop other people from taking too much damage. Doing damage of your own is only to keep your threat level up so the enemy is attacking you and not someone else. So basically, in PvP tanks do rather badly most of the time. Tho i did see a spec on a nother site that had a immortal tank spec with improved dps, i may look at that spec more indepth and see how it works.. I've heard that some of those hybrid tanks do quite well. I don't see them getting anywhere near close to DPS damage levels, but it would definitely put them far above a normal tank.
  15. As far as stuns go, we get Force Choke and Intimidating Roar. Juggs also get 4 interrupts: Force Charge, Force Choke, Force Push and Disruption. And a slow: Chilling Scream (Force Crush as well if you are Rage spec). Push has a skill in Immortal tree that decreases the CD by 15 seconds, but that's the only one. And it's pretty far up the tree. Juggs have quite a lot of CC now that i think about it.
  16. Dude dude dude.....best tip ever is to be a total a**hole to Baras. Then when you're finished running around doing his little chores for his fat a**, it'll be a lot more satisfying.
  17. Just outsmart it. Use your interrupts, defensive CDs, medpacks and manage your threat level with your companion, you shouldn't have too many issues. If you haven't tried this already, make your companion attack the reflection first and let them duke it out for a few seconds before jumping in. If the reflection keeps targeting your companion and they're about to die, use taunt and switch the damage over to you. Heal, rinse, repeat.
  18. The fight before the final fight is much harder. Just do regular boss-beating tactics and you won't have a problem. You could probably do the final fight in L45 gear if you're good. It's not a difficult fight. Satisfying, but not difficult.
  19. You 2 are insane Jaesa and Kira are fantastic. And kira's got a sexy voice, it's not annoying at all
  20. If you're just going to do damage, choose Marauder. If you want a bit of survivability and flexibility as well, choose Jugg. Basically, Juggernauts have the capability to only do damage (Vengeance & Focus specs) or be a tank (Immortal). Within that, Focus and Vengeance specs can also use Soresu Form (tank form) and gain the 60% armor bonus and the ability to guard, effectively making them mini off-tanks in a way. Plus, being able to guard opens you up to 4 extra warzone medals.
  21. 1) Is Sith Juggernaut really viable as a DPS in PVE endgame? If so, what is the strongest talent set for someone who wants to dabble in both PVE and PVP? All DPS classes are viable as DPS in endgame, just as they are viable in PvP in endgame. There aren't too many classes that can out-damage a Sith Juggernaut though mate 2) How far is too far to go as a tank without speccing tank? I mean.. what is the latest Flashpoint you can comfortably tank before you have to spec tank? Athiss? Sooner? Later? That's all skill-dependent. If you're really, really good you might be able to do that all the way up until endgame. But most of the time, you'll be struggling to tank past L40 without actually being a tank. It's not just the extra armour you need, it's the defensive skills that Immortal Juggs have that keep them alive longer. Without them, you'll be mashed as a tank when the game gets more serious 3) How much of a dropoff is there as a Juggernaut DPS vs. a Marauder, if any? The main differences are Juggernauts sacrifice a tiny bit of damage output for more survivability, and Marauders need 2 lightsaber hilts, 2 mods and 2 enhancements every 2 levels, Juggs only need one of each. It really adds up. They're very similar, and very different at the same time.
  22. It really depends on a lot of things. Marauder is intended to inflict more damage, and Marauders have a lot of the way of defensive abilities. But I have a Rage spec Jugg character and I can assure you he's no slouch with the damage. You need to decide what play style you want to roll with, then the spec and advanced class you choose can flow from there. With SW, you can either tank (Immortal Jugg), do AoE damage (Rage Jugg/Marauder), 1 vs1 damage (Carnage Marauder/Vengeance Jugg), or DoT (Annihilation Marauder). From what you said in your post, my guess is you'll love Rage spec Jugg.
  23. If you leave expertise around the 1000 mark you should be fine. Any higher than about 1100 or 1200 and you're seriously sacrificing other stats. As Vigilance spec you'll want to keep your Power rating up, and make sure your Crit/Surge rating is reasonably high too. Probably Crit moreso than Surge as Vigilance
  24. Don't quote me on this, i don't know the actual figures or anything. But i believe Strength does roughly half what Power does for your damage output. Think of it as the extra Strength rating you get from equipping new gear is scaling your damage up slightly to match your level. Power is where the improvements are made.
  25. Which is better for PvP? More medals available to you as Guardian, more potential for damage as Sentinel Do the two lightsabers have any benefit? Not much, you'll see the most difference as Focus spec Why does the sentinel only get medium armor? Because they have 2 lightsabers. Wouldn't really be fair, now would it? If my main had 2 lightsabers as a Sith Juggernaut, he'd be ridiculous Does the storyline change for either? Storylines follow your base class, not advanced class Are there different conversation options for each? The conversation options don't change, you have the same chance to be neutral, dark or light no matter your advanced class or alignment etc. Perhaps social points give some new options, but i don't group up enough to know that for sure
